THE POLICE GAZETTE. PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY. NEW SERIES. TUESDAY, JULY 14, 1885. VOL. II., No. 161. REGULATIONS- 1. All announcementt for insertion in tie POLICE GAZSTTR, and all eornmun'icatimt upon them chould be addressed to THE EDITOR OF THE POLICE GAZETTE, GREAT SCOTLAND YAUD, LONDON, S. W. 2. Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTP, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another Joroe. 3. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 4. In all cases where a reward is offered the name and address of tome person responsible for the payment must be given, ani the exact conditions be clearly stated. 5. Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences, and engravings of stolen property, will be prominently inserted, with detailed particulars, at a cost of 15s. per portrait, and of Is. 6d. per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, including the expense of engraving on wood. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature of an officer of not less rank than Superintendent; and, if the name of such person be required to bs inserted, and no warrant is in force against him, the requisit ion must be signed by the '. hief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may b:. 7. Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officer of not less rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto. 8. Announcements of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property bear a number, and an alphabetically arranged by counties. 9. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquentt, or stolen properly la be inter ted » the POLICB GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the hditur notice of the fact, referring to the member of the announcement far insertion in tie next UIK 10. In all cases, the officer signing the request for insertion of any announcement, will be wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publieatu/ n. 11. Announcements for the Friday ussue should be forwarded so at to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They mutt be clearly written on one tide of the paper only, be in the utual form, and accompanied by a covering letter. 12. All paymentt mutt be in advance, either at the office. Great Scotland Yard, by cheque, crossed " Drummond f Co.," Pott Office Order payable at Charing Crott, Postal Order, or in Stamps. 13. Advertisements are accepted for the POLICB GAZETTB through Mr. Jamet Willing, 126, Strand, London, the sole Agent, who will furnish the rattt on application. 14.
