A DUBLIN, TUESDAY, J1UNE 23, 1885. ENGLISH POLICE. WANTED at Kendal, on a charge of embezzlement and falsifying books, and for whose apprehension two Warrants have been issued this day:—- John Redhead, a banker's clerk, late of Kendal, 30 years of age, about 5 feet 6£ inches high, native of Kendal, married, and has left his wife and two children here, black hair and moustache, very slight whiskers on side of face, parts his hair down centre, medium build, dark brown eye, right eye defective in sight and discoloured, which is very conspicuous, very sallow complexion; wore a gold diamond ring on third finger of left hand, dressed when last seen in dark brown tweed jacket, vest, and trowsers, and black felt hat; smart active walker, usually wore laced low shoes ; of rather gentlemanly appearance. Police officers are earnestly requested to make every inquiry and search at shipping offices, railway stations, and other likely places for the above described person, and if found, arrest, and wire the undersigned, who will send an officer for him. WANTED, at Dewsbury, Yorkshire, for forgery, John Peter Boothman :— Wool merchant, Dewsbury, aged about 60, height 5 feet 7 or 8 inches, slightly made, gray hair, whiskers, and beard, no moustache, peculiar dropping movement of one eyelid, rather small and narrow face. Well known in Bradford and in the Craven District by wool dealers. Was in Bradford, Yorkshire, on Saturday, 25th April, instant, and cashed a cheque for £ 500 at the bank there of the Halifax Commercial Banking Company, Ltd. He obtained for the cheque £ 400 in £ 5 notes of the Halifax Commercial Banking Company, and also a £ 100 Bank of England note, dated London, 26th April, 1884, number 42,692. £ 100 reward will be paid to any person giving information leading to the apprehension of the above person. M., 16th inst., a gentleman's house at Garston was entered by forcing back the fastening of a bedroom window with a palette knife ( left on the premises), and the following jewellery stolen :— a diamond and turquoise pendant, centre turquoise set round with small diamonds, small turquoise pendant hanging from large one; a diamond and turquoise bracelet, formed of 8 or 10 large turquoises, and studded with small diamonds ; a pair of diamond and turquoise earrings; a pearl necklace and pearl earrings, star of pearls with small pearl drop hanging; a pair large single diamond ear- rings, claw set; a pair hanging large single diamond earrings, pear- shaped drops; a diamond pendant and earrings, consisting of large diamond in centre, set round with small diamonds in shape of Maltese cross ; two diamond and gold bracelets, one is a band of gold with letters " A. E. I." in small diamonds, and the other a band of gold with large diamond stars ; a diamond and ruby bracelet, the gold is small ivy- leaved pattern studded with small rubies; a turquoise and pearl bracelet formed of gold band, shape of cup in centre formed of pearls, and dotted with small turquoise and pearls at each side; a cameo bracelet formed of band of gold, with stone cameo set in white and gold enamel; a cameo pendant to match bracelet; two pairs cameo earrings, one stone cameo and the other shell; a moon- stone necklace, graduated stones set in gold ; a white coral and diamond round- shaped brooch ; two coral necklaces, one a string of coral beads with round- shaped coral pendant, the other a large centre of coral with strings of small coral beads ; two pairs of gold and pink'coral earrings ; a pink coral and gold brooch ; a gold necklace ; a gold brooch and a gold earring; a brooch consisting of large stone cameo ( lady's head) set in large pearls; a small gold cameo brooch ( lady's head); a gold Geneva hunting watch, number and maker's name not known; a lady's gold watch, maker " Roskell, Liverpool;" a lady's gold watch chain, to which a gold pencil case, a spade- ace guinea, gold locket, and onyx whistle is attached, two opal ring?, one of large opal and two diamonds ; the other of three opals; a ruby ring, large centre ruby surrounded by diamonds; a turquoise ring, a round of turquoises set in gold ; a single diamond ring, large single diamond, claw set; a diamond and ruby ring, supposed two rubies and one diamond ; a pearl ring, single pearl set in gold ; a pink coral and gold ring"; a sapphire and diamond ring, large ccntre sapphire and two diamonds; a gold wedding ring, far worn ; a topaz brooch and earrings, each formed of largo topaz, set in gold and silver of frosted appearance ; a pearl slide, single pearl in oval shaped setting; a pink coral snake pattern brooch, large diamonds in snake's head; a gold diamond and emerald locket, a gold and diamond locket, diamond star pattern: a filigree gold necklace, two thin gold necklaces, three gold bracelets, one filigree, one band of gold, coiled pattern, and one gold, centre of which opens, and contains photos of a lady and gentleman ; a spray pearl brooch, an unset diamond, an amethyst pen- dant, set in gold; two pairs of long gold earrings, two Venetian mosaic brooches, long shape; a lava bracelet, small cherub's head of various colours ; a set, consist- ing of silver brooch and earrings, inlaid with black enamel; a bracelet of moss agate, a gold pencil case, a lava brooch and earrings, head of " Galileo" in brooch; two pebble brooches, set in gold; four £ 5 Bank of England Notes, number of one supposed to be 41054 R, and about £ 5 in gold and 5s. in silver. The above reward will be paid to any person giving such information as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of the thief or thieves, and recovery of the property, or in proportion to the amount recovered. Pawnbrokers, watchmakers, jewellers, and others are requested to examine their stocks, and if the above has been pledged or sold before the receipt of this bill, or should hereafter be offered- for pledge or sale, to give immediate information thereof to the Superintendent of Police, Old Swan ; Police Office, Aigburth; or at the Central Police Office, Dale- street, Liverpool. PARTICULARS relative to English Police Supervisee, David Cleary, otherwise Thomas Massicks, convicted at Preston, county Lancaster Sessions, on 20th February, 1884, for stealing saw, level, and cloth case, and sentenced to 12 calendar months, and 6 years' Police Supervision:— 25 years of age on conviction, is married, is a labourer or baker, born in Ireland, resided at Preston before conviction ; brown hair, bine eyes, fresh complexion, oval visage, proportionate make, 6 feet inches high; two moles on left wrist and one right of belly. This is an English Police Supervisee. He left Cahir, county Tipperary, on 1st May, 1885, and stated that he was going to Tipperary, and thence to Cork, but he has not reported himself at either place, and his present whereabouts is unknown. PARTICULARS relative to Convict Catherine Kennedy, convicted at Clonmel, county Tipperary, on 28th October, 1879, for larceny from the person, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude;— 30 years of age on conviction, single, servant, prison trade sempstress, born in Cahir, resided before conviction in Clonme), has friends in Cahir; brown hair, blue eyes, light eyebrows, long noso, medium mouth, fresh complexion, round visage, slight make, 5 feet high; scurvy on face. This licence- holder was released from Golden Bridge Convict Refuge 21st January, 1885, and wont to Clonmel. She left Clonmel the 5th instant, stating she was going to Liverpool, but she has not reported herself at the latter place, and her present whereabouts is unknown. DESCRIPTION of John Knox ( mother's surname Adams), supposed native of Magheramorne, county Antrim, who stands charged with having, in or about February, 1885, in the borough of Carrickfergus, parish of St. Nicholas, did unlawfully steal, take, and carry away a small model steam engine, the pro- perty of James Taylor and Sons ( Limited), of North- east Division, Carrickfergus:— Blue eyes, sharp thin nose, pale complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 10 or If inches high, about 21 years of ago, brown hair; wore a low round hat, black worsted coat, trowsers, and vest; is a job painter. Believed to be travelling with Purchase's waxworks show through Ireland. The Police of Carrickfergus holds a Warrant for his arrest. Carrickfergus, June 10, 1885. Cunningham, which were stolen from his dwelling- house at West Division, parish of St Nicholas, and borough of Carrick- fergus, at about 2.15 a. m., on 25th of May, 1885, viz:— A silver mug, marked " Amelia Margaret May Cunningham, from her Godfather, Robert Kelly;" a mug, marked " S. L. A. B.;" a small silver gilt mug; two silver plated mugs ; a small silver plated salver ; and a Moorish brass tray, about 16 inches in dia- meter ; all value for about £ 20. DESCRIPTION of George M'Cullagh, native of Newtownards, who stands charged with having, on the 1st May, 1885, in the barony of Upper Castle- reagh, parish of Knockbreda, being a convict on ticket- of- licence, left his residence at Belfast, without notifying change, and whose present whereabouts is unknown;— Has a lump on forehead, gray eyes, broad nose, fresh complexion, oval face, stout make, 6 feet inches high, about 40 years of age, light brown hair; wore a dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is watchmaker. Michael Doyle ( charged with having feloniously obtained a letter from the Post Office, Carlow, the property of James Carey), not arrested ; Hue- and- Cry, 28th October, 1884. Cavan. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Young, native of Drum- goon, who stands charged with others in custody with having, on the 9th day of May, 1885, in the barony of Tullyhunco, parish of Kildallon, violently assaulted one Patrick Baxter with blows of a stick on the head, thereby causing his death on the 14th instant:— Dark eyes, slightly cocked nose, sallow complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, about 30 years of age, brown hair, very small side whiskers ; wore a round hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's son. DESCRIPTION of John Casey, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 18th day of June, 1885, in the barony of Orrery and Kilmore, parish of Buttevant, and townland of Ballybeg, feloniously broken into the dwelling- house of James Grady, and stole several articles of wearing apparel therefrom :— Fresh cut- mark on back of head, short cock nose, pale sallow complexion, stout make, 5' feet 5 inches high, about 22 years of age; wore a soldier's uniform ; is a private, Yorkshire Regiment, Buttevant. DESCRIPTION of Daniel Connor, native of Inno- shannon, who stands charged with having, on the 17th May, 1885, in the barony of Kinalea, parish of Innoshannon, embezzled the sum of £ 12, the pro- perty of his employer, Edward Oliff, of Innoshannon, for whom he drove a bread van:— Wants an upper front tooth, slight squint, small gray eyes, cocked nose, dark complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 3 inches high, about 20 years of age, brown hair, and small dark side whiskers; wore a jerry hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is a driver of a bread van. The two persons, supposed to be Michael Kelly and his wife, native places unknown, who stand charged on suspicion with having, on the night of 30th November, or morning of 1st December, 1884, in the barony of Banagh, parish of Killaghtoo, murdered one Bridget Cunningham, have not been arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 26th December, 1884. • Down. DESCRIPTION of a gun, the property of John Hogan, of Gunaune, Whitegate, which was taken out of his house on Sunday, the 7th June, 1885, by some person at present unknown :— A double- barrelled muzzle- loading gun, brazed behind the trigger guard, the right side hammer newer and stronger than that on the left, the heelplate partly warped from the stock. Portumna, June 18, 1885. ( 68789 c.— 19801.) DESCRIPTION of three heifers, No. 1 the property of James F. O'Dowd, and Nos. 2 and 3 the property of Dominick Burke, which were stolen from the lands of Bovinion, parish of Moylough, barony of Killian, on the night of 1st or morning of 2nd June, 1885 :— 1. A two- year- old heifer, yellow, branded with figure " 7" on horn, and on hip with letters " J. D.," in a circle ; in fair condition ; value for about £ 10 10s. 2. A two- year- old heifer, strawberry colour, horns turned back over ears, branded on right horn with letter " B.;" in fair condition ; value for about £ 9 10s. 3. A two- year- old heifer, dark strawberry colour, branded on right horn with the letter " B.," one of the ears split in two or three places, in fair condition; value for about £ 9 10s. Mary Bligh, alias Lynch, native of Ballymoe, who disappeared from her home, in the barony of Bally- moe, parish of Drumatemple, on or about the 9th January, 1884, has not been since heard of; Hue- and- Ciy, 28th March, 1884. Patrick Killeen ( assault), not arrested; Hue- and- Ory, 29th April, 1884. Martin Coleman ( sending threatening letters), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 1st April, 1884. Kerry. DESCRIPTION of two persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 14th June, 1885, in the barony of Iveragh, parish of Glenbehy, assaulted Michael Corcoran, of Cahersiveen, on the public highway at Kilkeagh, and robbed him of the sum of £ 2 4s.: — 1. Has tho appearance of a tramp, regular nose, dark complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 50 years of age; wore a hard black hat, dark jacket, and tweed trowsers. 2. Has the appearanceofatramp, regular nose, fresh complexion, round full face, very stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 30 years of age; wore a black jerry hat, black frock coat, and gray tweed trowsers. A Warrant for their arrest is in the hands of the police at Killorglin. Killorglin, June 16, 1885. ( 68912 c.— 19962.) DESCRIPTION of a heifer, the property of Mr. Brindsley Fitzgerald, which was stolen from the lands of Ballyplimouth, parish of Ballincuslane, barony of Trughenackmy, on the night of the 9th day of June, 1885 :— A red heifer, with white star on forehead, two cuts in the hair on the right hip of about six inches in length; in poor condition; 1| years old; value for about £ 5. Castleisland, June 10, 1885, ( 68790 c 19802.) DESCRIPTION of William Daly, native of Kilfallinga, who stands charged with having, on the 19th April, 1885, at Gurranedarrig, in the barony of Trughen- ackmy, parish of Currans, assaulted Timothy Sullivan, by kicking him in the abdomen, thereby endangering his life:— Slightly bow- legged, head stooped forward, has a habit of keeping his hands in his trowsers pockets, gray eyes, long nose, fair complexion, long face, stout make^ A feet 9 inches high, about 30 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark frock coat, gray tweed trowsers and vest; is a farmer. Killarney, April 29, 1885. , ( 68172 c 18885.) Corkaguiny, parish of Ballinorker, attacked the dwelling- houses of John Cruickshank, Inch, and Daniel Daly, Caherpierce, and taken therefrom six guns, and also with seriously assaulting John Cruick- shank on the same occasion by inflicting four cuts on his head with the stock of a gun, & c,:— 1. 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 50 years of age, long red beard, which may be false; wore a soft hat and long oiled coat. 2. 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 25 years of age, side whiskers, shaves the chin ; wore a soft hat and oiled coat; he carried a double- barrel gun. 3. 5 feet 5 inches high, no beard or whiskers ; wore a soft hat, gray coat; carried a single- barrel gun, and wore a leather belt. 4. 5 feet 4 inches high, age not known ; wore a fur cap, had a bag apparently round his body, had a white mask over his face, and carried a watch. 5. 5 feet 5 inches high, about 19 years of ago ; wore a brown coat, and had a robe round his waist Dingle, April 20, 1885. ( 68028 o.— 18659.) The five guns, tho property of John Cruickshank, and one, the property of Daniel Daly, which were forcibly taken from their dwelling- house, at Inch and Caherpierce respectively, in tho parish of Ballinvoher, and barony of Corkaguiny, on the night of Saturday, the 18th April, 1885, by an armed party of moonlighters, have not been recovered. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Flanagan, native of Royal Oak, who, on the 24th February, 1885, in the barony of Carbury, parish of Ballinadrimna, strayed away * from his employer at Moyvally while in a state of insanity, and may do injury to himself:— Pearl on right eye, good- looking, erect carriage; brown eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, broad face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 27 or 28 years of age, dark hair; wore a felt hdt, brown coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. Anthony Byrne, believed fictitious ( cattle stealing), not arrested ; Hue- and- Cry, 24th February, 1885. John Turner ( embezzlement), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 25 November, 1884. Garret Stynes ( house attack and using threatening language), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 31st October, 1884. Mary Ryan ( robbery), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 7th October, 1884. DESCRIPTION of five persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the night of the 18th April, 1885, in the barony of Kilkenny. DESCRIPTION of Michael Fitzpatrick, native of Carranrce Lower, who stands charged with having, on the night of 12th June, 1885, in the barony of Ida, parish of Rower, seriously assaulted one John Grace :— Dark eyes, thin nose, pale sallow complexion, thin face, slight active make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 or 21 years of age, black hair; wore a soft black hat, light brown trowsers and vest; is a blacksmith. A Warrant has been issued for his arrest. Thomastown, 17 June, 1885. ( 08S92 c.— 19960.) DESCRIPTION of James Farrell, no fixed residence, states he is a native of county Wexford, who stands charged with having, on the 3rd May, 1885, in the barony of Galmoy, parish of Urlingford, absconded from Urlingford Union Workhouse, taking with him clothing, the property of the Guardians of said union:— Fair complexion, thin face, medium make, 4 feet 5 inches high, about 12 or 13 years of age, fair hair; wore a light gray tweed cap, lined with brown canvas, dark brown frieze coat, unlined except sleeves, which are lined with white calico, corduroy trowsers, gray tweed vest, lined with calico, a pair of boots, and cotton stockings, having the union brand on them, and a calico shirt— all workhouse clothing. DESCRIPTION of John M'Morrow, mother's surname Kelly, native of Fahy, who stands charged with having, on the 13th May, 1885, in the barony of Drumahaire, parish of Drumrielly, failed to appear at Dowra Petty Sessions, county Cavan, to give evidence in a case of house attack by an armed party and robbery of arms, as bound by his recognizance; Warrant for his arrest in hands of Police at Dowra :— Large feet slovenly gait, gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, medium make, 6 feet 1 inch high, about 19 or 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's son* Drumahaire, May 15, 1885. DESCRIPTION of four men, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 4th of May, 1885, in the barony of Drumahaire, parish of Drumreilly, been of a party of five armed men, who forcibly entered the dwelling- house of Patrick M'Morrow, of Fahy, threatened the inmates, and seized anq| carried away a gun:— 1.
