WANTED, at Dewsbury, Yorkshire, for forgery, john Peter Boothman :— Wool merchant, Dewsbury, aged about 60, heighti 5 feet 7 or 8 inches, slightly made, gray hair, whisjsers, and beard, no moustache, peculiar dropping movement of one eyelid, rather small and narrow face. Well known in Bradford and in the Craven District by wool dealers. Was in Bradford, Yorkshire, on Saturday, 25th April, instant, and cashed a cheque for £ 500 at the bank there of the Halifax Commercial Banking Company, Ltd. He obtained for the cheque £ 400 in £ 5 notes of the Halifax Commercial Banking Company, and also a £ 100 Bank of England note, dated London, 26th April, 1884, number 42,692. £ 100 reward will be paid to any person giving information leading to the apprehension of the above person. October, 1879, for larceny from the person, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude ;— 30 years of age on conviction, single, servant, prison trade sempstress, born in Cahir, resided before conviction in Clonmel, has friends in Cahir; brown hair, blue eyes, light eyebrows, long nose, medium mouth, fresh complexion, round visage, slight make, 5 feet high; acurvy on face. This licence- holder was released from Golden Bridge Convict Refuge 2lst January. 1885, and wont to Clonmel. She left Clonmel the 5th instant, stating she was going to Liverpool, but she has not reported herself at the latter place, and her present whereabouts is unknown. DESCRIPTION of five persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the night of the 18th April, 1885, in the barony of Corkaguiny, parish of Ballinorker, attacked the dwelling- houses of John Cruickshank, Inch, and Daniel Daly, Caherpierce, and taken therefrom six guns, and also with seriously assaulting John Cruick- shank on the same occasion by inflicting four cuts on his head with the stock of a gun, & c,:— 1. 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 50 years of age, long red beard, which may be false; wore a soft hat and long oiled coat. 2. 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 25 years of age, side whiskers, shaves the chin ; wore a soft hat and oiled coat; he carried a double- barrel gun. 3. 6 feet 5 inches high, no beard or whiskers ; wore a soft hat, gray coat; carried a single- barrel gun, and wore a leather belt. 4. 5 feet 4 inches high, age not known ; wore a fur cap, had a bag apparently round his body, had a white mask over his face, and carried a watch. 5. 5 feet 5 inches high, about 19 years of age ; wore a brown coat, and had a robe round his waist Dingle, April 20, 1885. The five guns, the property of John Cruickshank, and one, the property of Daniel Daly, which were forcibly taken from their dwelling- houses at Inch and Caherpierce respectively, in the parish of Ballinvoher, and barony of Corkaguiny, on the night of Saturday, the 18th April, 1885, by an armed party of moonlighters, have not been recovered. Shaved face, - slight moustache, large eyes, regular nose, round red face, slight make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 26 years of age, dark hair ; woro a round hard hat, dark frock coat, and dark tweed trowsers. 2. Very thin fair whiskers, regular nose, fair complexion, broad freckled face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 22 years of age, fair hair ; wore a black soft hat, old dark coat, and dark tweed trowsers. 3. Face shaved, small fair moustache, fair com- plexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 23 years of age, dark hair; wore a broad soft hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest. 4. Regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark hair ; wore a dark coat and trowsers. The other man, who was disguised, has been arrested and identified. Description of the gun:— A double- barrelled muzzle loader, with Griffith written on lock, small piece broken off toe- plate, cut- mark on small of butt, and small piece broken off one of the hammers ; value for about £ 2. DESCRIPTION of John FitzPatrick, native of Clonard, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd April, 1885, in the barony of Maryboro' West, parish of Clonenagh, failed to appear at Mountrath Petty Sessions, to give evidence in a case of assault and robbery as bound by his recognizance:— Lightly pockpitted, gray or blue eyes, long hooked nose, pale freckled complexion, long face, slight make, about 5 feet 8 inches high, about 55 or 60 years of age, gray hair; wore a Jem Crow hat, long dark coat, corduroy trowsers, and dark tweed vest, all much worn ; is a pump borer and labourer; known by the sobriquet of " Jack the Battle" in several parts of Queen's County. DESCRIPTION of William Smith, alias Alexander M'Fadden ( mother's surname M'Fadden), native of Belfast, who stands charged on suspicion with having, on the 11th day of May, 1885, at Cartron, in the barony of Carbury, parish of Calry, maliciously set fire to, and burned a large rick of hay, the property of James Nelson, Esq., Mayor of Sligo ; he has been remanded until 18th inst., to enable further inquiry being made about him, as he may have committed crime elsewhere :— Srofulla and carbuncles on face, brown eyes, regular nose, swarthy complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 3 inches high, about 17 years of age, brown hair; wore an old black felt hat, crown broken in, faded tweed coat, dark tweed trowsers, and dark vest; is a tramping ballad singer. DESCRIPTION of a woman, name and native placc unknown, who stands charged with having, on or about the 1st May, 1885, in the barony of Ballinacor South, parish of Ballykine, and town of Aughrim, stolen a pair of boots, the property of Mary Hiney and which she pawned, in a pawn- office, in Arklow' on 1st May, 1885:— Is generally accompanied by two boys, aged about 8 and 2 years respectively, she attends to beg at all fairs and markets in the counties of Wicklow, Wexford, and Carlow, rod face, stout make, medium height, about 40 years of age; wore an old dark coloured bonnet, green striped shawl red coloured dress; is a tramping beggar.
