M., 16th inst., a gentleman's house at Garston was entered by forcing back the fastening of a bedroom window with a palette knife ( left on the premises), and the following jewellery stolen :— a diamond and turquoise pendant, centre turquoise set round with small diamonds, small turquoise pendant hanging from large one; a diamond and turquoise bracelet, formed of 8 or 10 large turquoises, and studded with small diamonds ; a pair of diamond and turquoise i earrings; a pearl necklace and pearl earrings, star of pearls with small pearl drop hanging; a pair large single diamond ear- rings claw set; a pair hanging large single diamond earrings, pear- shaped drops; a diamond pendant and earrings, consisting of large diamond in centre, set round with small diamonds in shape of Maltese cross ; two diamond and gold bracelets, one is a band of gold with letters " A. I." in small diamonds, and the other a band of gold with large diamond stars ; a diamond and ruby bracelet, the gold is small ivy leaved pattern studded with small rubies; a turquoise and pearl bracelet formed of gold band, shape of cup in centre formed of pearls, and dotted with small turquoise and pearls at each side; a cameo bracelet formed of band of gold, with stone cameo set in white and gold enamel; a cameo pendant to match bracelet; two pairs cameo earrings, one stone cameo and the other shell; a moon stone necklace, graduated stones set in gold ; a white coral and diamond round- shaped brooch ; two coral necklaces, one a string of coral beads with round- shaped coral pendant, the other a large centre of coral with strings of small coral beads; two pairs of gold and pink coral earrings ; a pink coral and gold brooch ; a gold necklace ; a gold brooch and a gold earring; a brooch consisting of large stone cameo ( lady's head) set in large pearls; a small gold cameo brooch ( lady's head); a gold Geneva hunting watch, number and maker's name not known; x a lady's gold watch, maker " Roskell, Liverpool;" a lady's gold watch chain, to which a gold pencil case, a spade- ace guinea, gold locket, and onyx whistle is attached; two opal rings, one of large opal and two diamonds; the other of three opals ; a ruby ring, large centre ruby surrounded by diamonds; a turquoise ring, a round of turquoises set in gold; a single diamond ring, large single diamond, claw set; a diamond and ruby ring, supposed two rubies and one diamond; a pearl ring, single pearl set in gold ; a pink coral and gold ring; a sapphire and diamond ring, large centre sapphire and two diamonds; a gold wedding ring, far worn ; a topaz brooch and earrings, each formed of large topaz, set in gold and silver of frosted appearance ; a pearl slide, single pearl in oval shaped setting; a pink coral snake pattern brooch, large diamonds in snake's head; a gold diamond and emerald locket, a gold and diamond locket, diamond star pattern: a filigree gold necklace, two thin gold necklaces, three gold bracelets, one filigree, one band of gold, coiled pattern, and one gold, centre of which opens, and contains photos of a lady and gentleman; a spray pearl brooch, an unset diamond, an amethyst pen- dant, set in gold ; two pairs of long gold earrings, two Venetian mosaic brooches, long shape; a lava bracelet,' small cherub's head of various colours; a set, consist- ing of silver brooch and ear- rings, inlaid with black enamel; a bracelet of moss agate, a gold pencil case, a a lava brooch and earrings, head of " Galileo" in brooch; two pebble broodies, set in gold; four £ 5 Bank of England Notes, number of one supposed to be 41054 r, and about £ 5 in gold and 5s. in silver. The above reward will be paid to any person giving such information as willl lead to the apprehension and conviction of the thief or thieves, and recovery of the property, or in proportion to the amount recovered. DESCRIPTION of a man wanted here, charged with stealing a cash box containing £ 4, & c., from a grocer's shop at Longsight on the 31st ulto., in company with a man named William Henry Barrett under remand at Strangeways Court:— About 23 or 24 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, pale light complexion, light moustache, whiskers and beard shaved off, slightly pock- pitted, speaks with a London accent; dressed in a black worsted cloth coat and vest, dark tweed trowsers with white stripe down side, lying- down collar, broad tie with gold horseshoe pin set with several small imitation diamonds, black billycock hat, and yellow kid gloves, and of very respectable appearance; goes under the name of Charles Clarke, alias " Con;" was liberated from Walton Gaol on the 26th or 27th ult., having been doing a month for attempting to rob a till in Liverpool; has also done several terms of imprison- ment in London for till robberies. He is now working in company with a young man named Fred Bridge, a native of Manchester, and who is of the following description s— About 23 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, fresh complexion, broad full face, slight light moustache, stout build, dressed in a new black worsted coat and vest, very heavy gold Albert watch- guard with very large seal attached, he is a solicitor's clerk ; has two brothers residing in Manchester, who have been convicted in London for till robbery; these two men are now going from town to town committing till robberies; they also attend race meetings, and some- times make a book at races; it is strongly believed they are either in London or Liverpool; they are well known to the Police at both places. Bridge has lived in the neighbourhood of Soho- street, Liverpool, with a prostitute from the latter end of January to the latter end of March, this year. It is earnestly requested that every possible inquiry be made, and, if met with, please apprehend and communicate with Mr. Superintendent BENT. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Glynn, who is in custody at Manchester, and remanded till 7th instant, charged with being in possession of a silver lever watch, No. 1458, and gold Albert chain, graduated curb with appendage, blood stone on one side, and a wine- coloured stone on the other, for which an owner is wanted':— 27 years of age, 5 feet 9| inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, proportionate build, oval face, prominent nose, a groom by occupation ; scar on right of forehead, long scar on left thigh, a scar over each eyebrow; is under Police supervision, and was in Ire- land during the Royal Visit. Glynn had also in his possession twelve fourpenny postage stamps, a five- shilling piece, dated 1821, and cash £ 4 18s., all supposed to have been stolen. STOLEN between 1st November, 1884, and 10th April, 1885 ( the bulk supposed to be about latter date), from the hill pasture of Inverlochlaraig, in the parish of Balquhidder, and county of Perth, forty or thereby black- faced two- year old wethers, marked as follows :— Eel- stab on the near and crop off far lug, the letter J, together with a star ( thus *) on left horn ; all were dipped in November, and marked with red keel on rump ; they were in lean condition. Also one hundred or thereby black- faced ewes, of different ages, marked as follows :— Eel- stab on the near and crop off far lug, the letter J on left horn, together with a figure < 2 to 6), denoting age, the letter S in tar OP left shoulder; all were dipped in November, and marked with red keel on back of head; the bulk of them are in lamb. DESCRIPTION of five guns, the property of John Cruickshank, and one, the property of Daniel Daly, which were forcibly taken from their dwelling- houses at Inch and Caherpierce respectively, in the parish of Ballinvoher, and barony of Corkaguiny, on the night of Saturday, the 18th April, 1885, by an armed party of moonlighters, viz:— 1. A double- barrelled muzzle loader, No. 108, maker's name, Moore, London. 2. A double- barrelled muzzle loader, a small hole on one of the barrels ( supposed right one), maker's name, Snowy, Inverness. 3. Two pair double- barrelled muzzle loaders, one of the barrels sighted as a rifle, a small hole on one barrel ( right one). 4. A large strand fowling- piece, single- barrelled, one of the keepers for ramrod lost, two keepers on stock. 5. One single- barrelled gun, nearly new; the whole value for about £ 57. DESCRIPTION of five persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the night of the 18th April, 1885, in the barony of Corkaguiny, parish of Ballinorker, attacked tho dwelling- houses of John Cruickshank, Inch, and Daniel Daly, Caherpierce, and taken therefrom six guns, and also with seriously assaulting John Cruick- shank on the same occasion by inflicting four cuts on his head with the stock of a gun, & c.:— 1.5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 50 years of age, long red beard, which may be false; woro a soft hat and long oiled coat. 2. 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 25 years of age, side whiskers, shaves the chin ; wore a soft hat and oiled coat; he carried a double- barrel gun. 3. 5 feet 5 inches high, no beard or whiskers ; wore a soft hat, gray coat; carried a single- barrel gun, and wore a leather belt. 4. 5 feet 4 inches high, age not known ; wore a fur cap, had a bag apparently round his body, had a white mask over his face, and carried a watch. 5. 5 feet 5 inches high, about 19 years of age ; worp a brown coat, and had a robe round his waist. DESCRIPTION of four men, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 4th of May, 1885, in the barony of Dramahaire, parish of Drumreilly, been of a party of five armed men, who forcibly entered the dwelling- house of Patrick M'Morrow, of Fahy, threatened the inmates, and seize 1 and carried away a gun:— 1. Shaved face, slight moustache, large eyes, regular nose, round red face, slight make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 26 years of age, dark hair ; wore a round hard hat, dark frock coat, and dark tweed trowsers. 2. Very thin fair whiskers, regular nose, fair complexion, broad freckled face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 22 years of age, fair hair; wore a black soft hat, old dark coat, and dark tweed trowsers. 3. Face shaved, small fair moustache, fair com- plexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 23 years of age, dark hair; wore a broad soft hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest. 4. Regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark hair ; wore a dark coat and trowsers. The other man, who was disguised, has been arrested and identified. Description of the gun:— A double- barrelled muzzle loader, with Griffith written on lock, small piece broken off toe- plate, cut- mark on small of butt, and small piece broken off one of the hammers ; value for about £ 2. H. Smith and Son :— Dark eyes, regu lar nose, fresh complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 32 years of age, dark hair, and heavy dark moustache; wore a low hard hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; served in the Marines under the name " M'Mahon." DESCRIPTION of John FitzPatrick, native of Clonard, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd April, 1885, in the barony of Maryboro' West, parish of Clonenagh, failed to appear at Mountrath Petty Sessions, to give evidence in a case of assault and robbery as bound by his recognizance :— Lightly pockpitted, gray or blue eyes, long hooked nose, pale freckled complexion, long face, slight make, about 5 feet 8 inches high, about 55 or 60 years of age, gray hair; wore a Jem Crow hat, long dark coat, corduroy trowsers, and dark tweed vest, all much worn ; is a pump borer and labourer; known by the sobriquet of " Jack the Rattle" in several parts of Queen's County.
