SPECIAL NOTICE, FUGITIVE OFFENDERS. A recent case has come under the notice of the Editor, in which a person whose apprehension was sought in England, and who was described in the POLICE GAZETTE, gave himself up to the Colonial Police. The prosecutor declined to take any further action in the matter, but the case necessitated the dispatch of two telegrams, the cost of which had to be refunded fey him. To avoid such expense, the Editor requests, that if there is reason to believe that a fugitive offender is likely to go to the Colonies, and the prosecutor is un- willing to incur any expense, with a view to obtain his surrender, a notification be made in the communi- cation sent to this Office to the effect that the offender is not to be arrested beyond the United Kingdom. The necessity for the adoption of such a course will be apparent from the fact that the POLICE GAZETTE is circulated in the Colonies. APPREHENSIONS SOUGHT. " TLey tell Him of her "— Mark i. 30. Jesus had entered into Simon's house, one of the few houses that welcomed Him. Hare you welcomed Him into yours? Have you until now had " no room for Him !" Is He still standing at the door 1 There was sickness in Simon's house— fever— and the disciples tell Him about it. If they had not told Him, I think He would have asked. He was quick to see trouble, " Why are ye sad, and why do thoughts arise in your hearts 1" " Why weepest tnou V' We often say, How are you ? ana never wait for any answer. He listened, and having heard, did not look on helplessly as we so often do, but could and did help. The touch of that wonderful Hand was felt, and no common cure was the result. " If he sleep he shall do well," probably the most the relatives expected in such an illness, but " immediately," not only did the fever leave the suffering one, but strength was restored, and " he ministered unto them." He is the same to- day. He says, " They that be whole need not the Physician, but they that are 8ick," and goes on to explain that by that saying He referred to the sickness of sin. Have you told Him your case? He has cured m any as bad. Have you told him the cases of others ? It is worth while, surely, if we remember that " the end of those things is death." The sickness is fatal, and only " now " is there any remedy. Tell Jesus always. Tell Him first. Tell Him only. Tell Him, however un- likely the cure may seem. " I poured out my complaint before Him; I showed before Him my trouble." David complained to Him, not of Him, and having " told Him all things," had little need to tell others.
