WANTED at Hexham, for obtaining money on the 27th ult. by false pretences, John Campbell:— States he is a farmer, about 60 years of age, about 6 feet 10 inches high, brown hair and whiskers mixed with gray, dark eyes, fresh complexion, ordinary figure, Scotch dialect; wants for' . d little finejers of right hand; dressed in home- spun tweed cloth, colour nearly black ; wore a plaid round his shoulders fastened with a pin in front, black felt hat, and lace- up boots. He was convicted in Ayrshire in 1874, in the name of M'Culloch, for fraud, and is supposed to have been since convicted of fraud in Wigton- shire and Dublin; was discharged from custody in Ireland in July, 1876, in the name of Robert Craig, alias Gray, alias M'Culloch; was wanted for fraud in Kirkcudbrightshire in 1880, and in Cumberland in 1883. WANTED here on a Sheriff's Warrant, charged with the theft of £ 65, consisting of thirty £ 1 notes, sixty- six half- sovereigns, and two sovereigns; a black silk dress, trimmed with brocaded satin and two rows of steel buttons down front, deep plaiting on skirt; a brown sealskin muff, a brown silk umbrella with silver handle, a red knitted shawl, and a white flannel petticoat, from the house of Sarah Moffat or Wood, at 24, Carmichael- street, here, on 17th inst., where she was employed as a servant, Rose Ann JDunlop, alias Murray:— About 22 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches in height, stout made, fair hair cut short in front, full face, fresh complexion ; dressed in a black velvet hat with black feather, black cloth jacket ( tight- fitting), black dress, and carried an oval- shaped brown bonnet box; was convicted of theft before the Southern Police Court, Glasgow, in April last; was again convicted of theft of £ 50 and other property in Stirling, in May last On that occasion she was arrested in Greenock on her way to Belfast Has two uncles in Govan. Her father is a labourer at Craigbelly estate, Ballymena. She is accompanied by Elizabeth Gilmour, a servant, 13 years of age, but looks older, slender made, dark brown hair, cut short in front, red face, full black • eyes, and speaks with strong Irish accent, is a native of Antrim; dressed in an old black dress much worn, an old black jacket with nearly all the buttons off front, white straw hat, trimmed with brown velvet, and wore new lacing boots. Accused and this girl arrived in Belfast on Sunday morning, 17th instant and on leaving the harbour took the county Down road. They may be found at temperance hotels or frequenting markets. WANTED for theft of three watches entrusted to him to repair, between the 1st November and 20th January last, Stephen Johns:— A collier or jobbing watchmaker, about 35 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, light brown hair and moustache,' whiskers shaved off, hazel eyes, fresh complexion, slender build, speaks with an English accent; wore a black hard felt hat, gray tweed jacket, dark cord vest and trowsers. Has a smart military appearance ; served 1? l oars in the 21st Regiment, and wa3 discharged in August, 1883. In his Army attestation papers his next- of- kin is his father, Samuel Johns, Bickington, Newton Abbot,- Devonshire. He absconded from Ayr on 20th January. May be found at collieries or travelling as a jobbing watchmaker, or in a militia barracks undergoing preliminary training. Warrant issued. Description of the Watches :— Two of the watches have been recovered, the other is an English patent lever silver watch, No. 41602, flowered dial, gold chapters, steel hands, figures on dial defaced. STOLEN from a dwelling- house in Tarbrax county on 2nd January, 1885, a black corded cloth overcoat, single- breasted, two outside pockets in skirts with flaps, pocket on left breast, lined with black Italian lining, and sleeves with black and red striped lining, bound with fine braid ; a gray checked tweed vest, single- breasted, much worn; a dark checked wincey shirt; a light coloured moroon worsted cravat, with long fringes; a brown imitation sealskin cap with flaps. Wanted on the above charge, James Little:— Is a labourer, 30 years of age, 6 feet inches high, round face, fresh complexion, large front teeth, stout build, light brown hair, and reddish whiskers. May be now wearing the stolen property. Accused was discharged, as medically unfit, from the Seaforth Highlanders on 19th April last, and was granted Id. per day of pension. STOLEN on night of 17th January, 1855, by means of housebreaking from a colliery office in Cambus- lang county, entrance effected by breaking a pane of glass in the window, and undoing the snib :— A navy blue serge suit, consisting of shooting coat, vest, and trowsers, maker's name " Alexander Stewart, Glas- gow," on hanger of coat and buttons of trowsers ; a brown and black checked Scotch tweed jacket; a pair of trowsers of same material as jacket. WANTED at city of Edinburgh, charged with failing to report his change of residence, in terms of the conditions of his licence:— Licence- holder G 970, Alfred Evans, alias Tommy Good- for- Nothing, 26 years of age, 5 feet 7 J inches in height, well made, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, oval face, slight moustache, otherwise shaved, scar right side of head, scar right knee, scar above right wrist, blue mark left forearm, and vaccination mark left arm. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Reilly ( fictitious), native place unknown, and a man, name and native place unknown, who stand charged with having, on the night of 18th or morning of 19th December, 1884, in the barony of Clankee, parish of Knockbride, stolen a heifer, the property of Alice Hand, value £ 3 10s., and sold it in the fair of cootehill on the 19th inst. The heifer has been recovered:— 1. Slightly stooped shoulders, small side whiskers, regular nose, pale complexion, thin face, slight tnake, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair ; wore a low soft hat, bright tweed coat, tweed trowsers and vest, and laced boots, toe of one broken. 2. Monaghan. . i DESCRIPTION of Isaac Fisher, native of Ballybay, who stands charged with having, on the morning of the 30th January, 1H85, in the barony of Dartrey, parish of Aghabog, stolen out of the dwelling- house of John Richardson, of Drumbrain, where he was lodging, a Boston lever watch which has since been recovered :— Tatooed on both wrists, dark and tender eyes, thin nose, fair complexion, long thin face, slight make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 28 or 30 years of age, dark brown hair, wears moustache; wore a low soft hat, gray frock coat, brown coloured trowsers and vest, and old boots; is a flax scutcher. May be wearing new dark tweed trowsers he bought in Clones. Served in the army, and is a militia man. Likely to be found working at some scutch mill in county Monaghan or neighbouring counties. Anderson, alias M'Craynor ( mother's surname M'Craynor), native of Sixmile- cross, who stands charged with having, on the 21st October and 6th November, 1884, in the barony of East Omagh, parish of Termonmaguirk, written and posted two threatening letters :— Carbuncles on face, square shoulders, smart active appearance; dark eyes, regular nose, pale sallow complexion, rather long face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 27 or 28 years of age, dark hair; wore a round hard hat, blue serge coat, trowsers, and vest, much worn ; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of John Hackett ( Ned) ( mother's surname Treanor), native of Aghamilkin, who stands charged with having, on the 3rd December, 1884, in the barony of Clogher, parish of Erigle Keeroghe, townland of Cullenbrone, assaulted James Donnelly, of Tamneymore, so as to endanger his life, by striking him on the head with a stone, causing a fracture of the frontal bone:— Blue eyes, sharp nose, fair complexion, thin face, slight make. 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, about 27 years of age, looks younger, dark hair, wore small dark side whiskers and moustache ; is a farmer. DESCRIPTION of Sarah O'Neill, native of Lisna- gowan, near Carland, who stands charged with having, on the 4th December, 1884, in the barony of Middle Dungannon, parish of Donaghmore, concealed the birth of her illegitimate child, the body of whom was found by the Police buried in her father's garden, on 23rd instant:— Delicate appearance, has not proper use of one arm, dark eyes, straight nose, pale com- plexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 25 years of age, dark brown hair ( wore fringe); wore a brown hat, brown Ulster coat, and dark green dress ; is a labourer's daughter. DESCRIPTION of clothing, the property of James Gainford and Thomas Dunne, which were stolen from a room over a stable at Knockmore, in which they were sleeping, on the night of the 9th or morning of the 10th January, 1885, in the parish of Rossdriot, and barony of Bantry:— An old light tweed colit and vest, a dark gray tweed trowsers, a corduroy trowsers, a black hard hat, a black hairy cap, a pair of nailed highlows, a pair of shoes, a pair of red and black suspenders, a blue pilot sack coat, a pair of red and white suspenders, and a brown tweed striped trowsers ; all value for about £ 1. DESCRIPTION of a person, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 29th December, 1884, at Clorogemore, in the barony of Scarawalsh, parish of Templeshambo, fired at and 1 wounded John Murphy, gamekeeper :— Brown eyes, slightly cocked nose, sandy or fair complexion, round full face, medium make, active appearance, about 5 feet 8 inches high, about 32 years of age, light or brown hair } wore a soft hat, old faded or dirty tweed clothes, and in the coat there was a grajish stripe; is a poacher. This man was poaching when he fired the shot, and was accompanied by another man about the same age and size, and somewhat similarly dressed. They had with them a red setter, with white muzzle, and tip of tail believed to be white, and a black dog, supposed a cross between a pointer and grayhound. DESCRIPTION of Michael Flanagan and William Connor, native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 12th instant, at Laragh, in the barony of Ballinacor, parish of Derrylossery, broken open a vacant dwelling- house, and did tear up, damage, and destroy a timber partition in said dwelling- house, and were burniug same when arrested by the Police; supposed may have com- mitted offences elsewhere:— 1. Dark eyes, regular nose, dark sallow complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 23 years of age, black hair cut short; wore a bla- ik cloth cap with peak, black cloth jack coat, gray tweed trowsers, and dark tweed vest; is a tramp. 2. Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, long thin face, medium make, 5 feet high, about 18 years of age, fair hah; wore an old round hard hat, old dark tweed coat, barragan trowsers, and old dark tweed vest; is a tramp.
