WANTED at Hexham, for obtaining money on the 27tli ult. by i'atee pretcnces, John Campbell:— States he is a fanner, about 60 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches high, brown hair and whiskers mixed with gray, dark eyes, fresh complexion, ordinary figure, Scotcli dialect; wants fore and little fingers of right hand; dressed in home- spun tweed cloth, - colour nearly black ; wore a plaid round his shoulders Hastened with a pin in front, black felt hat, and lace- up boots. He was convicted in Ayrshire in 1874, in the name of M'Culloch, for fraud, and is supposed to have been since convicted of fraud in Wigton- shire and Dublin; was discharged from custody in Ireland in July, 1876, in the name of Robert Craig, alias Gray, alias M'Culloch; was wanted for fraud in Kirkcudbrightshire in 1880, and in Cumberland in 1883. WANTED in this >< - ough, on Warrant, for stealing .£• 10, a cheque for which amount he was sent to cash, Owen Clarke ( supposed fictitious), a sergeant of Her Majesty's South Staffordshire Regiment:— About 34 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout build, sallow complexion, brown hair, slight light moustache ; turns his toes outwards when walking ; a native of Bailieborough, county Cavan ; dressed in dark tweed suit, light tweed overcoat, elastic- side boots, and soft felt hat. Kindly cause inquiries to be made at shipping offices, outgoing steamers, and other likely places, as it is supposed that he will endeavour to emigrate. Information to this office. M., on 23rd instant, the following articles :— Gold bracelet, diamond half Set; pearl bracelet, diamond half set; diamond ear- rings, shape of stars ; arrow brooch, set with pearls and diamonds; garnet brooch and necklet, with pendant; gold necklet and locket, initials " P. S.," turquoise centre ; two gold lady's rings ; two silver bracelets, which form a neck- let when joined; two pairs of gold ear- rings and locket with gold back, containing the photo, of a lady j three brooches, set with small pearls; silver bracelet, ivy leaf 61igree; lady's gold watch, en; graved cases, gold dial; gold Albert chain, small knob pattern, with locket and charms, containing the photo, of a gentleman. The above reward will be paid on recovery of jewellery, and conviction of thief or thieves, or in proportion to amount recovered. STOLEN on nigjit of 17th January, 1855, by means of housebreaking from a colliery office! in Carubus- lang county, entrance effected by breaking a pane of glass in the window, and undoing the snib :— A navy blue serge suit, consisting of shooting coat, vest, and trowsers, maker's name " Alexander Stewart, Glas- gow," on hanger of coat and buttons of trowsers ; a brown and black checked Scotch tweed jacket ; a pair of trowsers of same material as jacket. STOLEN on night of 18th January, 1885, by means of housebreaking from a railway goods sheds in Cleland county, entrance effected by breaking a pane of glass in a window ;— A brown paper parcel, con- taining 97 yards satinet furniture print, 58 yards damask brocade cloth, 49 yards of Turkey chintz, addressed Robert Loudon, Draper, Cleland. WANTED here on a Sheriffs Warrant, charged with the theft of £ 65, consisting of thirty £ 1 notes, sixty- six half- sovereigns, and two sovereigns; a black silk dress, trimmed with brocaded satin and two rows of steel buttons down front, deep plaiting on skirt; a brown sealskin muff, a brown silk umbrella with silver handle, a red knitted shawl, and a white flannel petiicoat, from tho house of Sarah Moffat or Wood, at 24, Carmichael- street, here, on 17th inst, where sbe was employed as a servant, Rose Arm Dunlop, alias Murray:— About 22 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches in height, stout made, fair hair cut short in front, full face, fresh complexion ; dressed in a black velvet hat with black feather, black cloth jacket ( tight- fitting), black) dress, and carried an oval- shaped brown bonnet box; was convicted of theft before the Southern Police Court, Glasgow, in April last; was again convicted of theft of £ 50 and other property in Stirling, in May last. On that occasion she was arrested in Greenock on her way to Belfast. Has two uncles in Govan. Her father is a labourer at, Craigbelly estate, Ballymena. May be accompanied by a young man, whose description has not been obtained. Absconded at 9 P. M. on Saturday last, 17th January current. Police Officers are requested to have inquiry made at register offices, temperance hotels, and shipping offices, and any information will be gladly received by WILLIAM HAMILTON, Superintendent of Police. WANTED at city of Edinburgh, charged with failing to report his change of residence, in terms of the conditions of his licence:— Licepcc- holder Q 970, Alfred Evans, alias Tommy Good- for- Nothing, 25 years of age, 5 feet 7 J inches in height, well mad<*, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, oval face, slight moustache, otherwise shaved, scar right side of head, scar right knee, scar above right wriit, blue mark left forearm, and vaccination mark left arm. The above Alfred Evans was concerned in a largo housebreaking and robbery at Blantyre, Lanarkshire, in 1880, and he may be again working in this county. ( 29777 sr.— 55205.) DESCRIPTION of James M'Kendry, native of Glen- one, county Londonderry, who stands charged with having, on the 25th December, 1884, in the barony of Lower Toome, parish of Portglenone, shot at and wounded David Megall:— Very flat- footed, holds his head towards the left side, coarse features, prominent upper teeth, heavy fair moustache, no beard or whiskers; sma. ll blue eyes, broad nose, fresh com- plexion, small round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 28 years of age, brown hair ; wore a gray tweed coat and green cord trowsers; is a farmer. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Reilly ( fictitious), native place unknown, and a man, name and native place anknown, who stand charged with having, on the night of 18th or morning of 19th December, 1884, in the barony of Clankee, parish of Knockbride, stolen 8 heifer, the property of Alice Hand, value £ 3 10s., and sold it in the fair of cootehill on the 19 th inst. The heifer has been recovered :— 1. Slightly stooped shoulders, small side whiskers, regular nose, pale complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a low soft hat, bright tweed coat, tweed trowsers and vest, and laced boots, toe of one broken. 2. Smooth face, no beard, gray eyes, regular nose, regular face, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 23 years of age; wore a bright tweed coat, tweed trowsers and Test, and leggings. bpro', Dec. 24, 1884. DESCRIPTION of Patrick M'Mahon, native of Kilrush, who stands charged with having, on the 85th December, 1884, in the barony of Islands, parish of Drumcliffe, committed a rape Tattooed on, right wrist, and good- looking, gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, regular face, slight make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 28 or 29 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a cap with straight peak, old dark cloth coat, corduroy trowsers, and tweed vest; is a shoemaker. DESCRIPTION of Joseph Gaynor ( mother's surname Hartstonge), native of Newtownshandrum, who stands charged with having, on the 12th day of January, 1885, in the barony of Orrery and Kilmore, parish of Shandrum, been one. of a party who broke the windows of the National School of Newtown- shandrum :— Brown eyes, regular nose, pale com- plexion, full face, medium make, 5 feet 3 inches high, about 17 years of age, dark hair; wore a two- peaked bright tweed cap, dark brown sack coat, tweed trowsers and vest; is a farm labourer. DESCRIPTION of two grayhounds, the property of William Cashman, which were stolen from his residence at Rathfilode, parish of Kilquane, barony of Barrymore, and county of Cork, on night of 5th January, 1885 :— 1. Black bitch, breast and feet white, patch of rough hair on left hip caused by a scald, 3 years old, answers to the name of " Fly." 2. The three persons, names and native places unknown ( charged with having robbed Thomas M'Grath), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 23rd Septem- ber, 1884. Young offender, Michael Mahony, belonging to the city of Cork, not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 26th August, 1884. John Hogan ( manslaughter), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 12th August, 1884. Donegal. DESCRIPTION of two persons, supposed to be Michael Kelly and his wife, native places unknown, who stand charged on suspicion with having, on the night of 30th November, or morning of 1st December, 1884, in the barony of Banagh, parish of Killaghtee, murdered one Bridget Cunningham:— 1. Swaggering gait, brown moustache, small side whiskers, brown eyes, regular nose, rather pale com- plexion, round full face, stout make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 35 or 40 years of age, black hair, turning gray; wore a round black felt hat, old gray- coat rather long, dark coloured trowsers; is an itinerant fiddler. 2. Blue eyes, long pointed nose, pale complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 3 inches high, about 30 years of age, sandy hair; wore an old dark gray shawl; is a tramp, and accompanies No. 1 from town to town. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Bergin, native of Ballincur, who stands charged with having, on the 27th day of October, 1884, in the barony of Ballybritt, parish of Kinnetty, seriously assaulted John Mooney, and, being out on bail, failed to come up for trial on 23rd instant:— Generally keeps his hands in his trowsers* pockets, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, medium make, 6 feet high, about 25 years of age, brown hair; wore a low black hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. Limerick; DESCRIPTION of John Daly, native of Cahir, county Tipperary, who stands charged with having, on the 30th day of December, 1884, in tho barony of Coshlea, parish of Galbally, unlawfully absconded from the employment of his employer, William M'Namara, of Barrack- street, Cahir, county Tipperary, and did unlawfully embezzle and carry away certain moneys, amounting to about £ 2 13s. lid., the pro- perty of the said William M'Namara, at Galbally, in the county of Limerick :— Has a peculiar expression about the eyes, and appears to have bad sight iiu » Q_ eye; small dark eyes, regular nosts-, TOllo\ V com- plexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 26 years of age, davk hair; wore a small round hat, gray tweed coat,/ dark tweed trowsers, and no vest; was employed/ lriving a porter van, and collected money for h1f employer; is a labourer ( van driver). • Kilfinane, January 7, 1885. DESCRIPTION of Bernard Dempsey, native of Bally- glass, Dungiven, who stands charged with having, on the 16th December, 1884, in the barony of Coleraine, parish of Errigal, committed a rape on the person of Anne Dempsey, his niece:— Rather bow legged, bald on top of head, blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, oval face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 55 years of age, brown hair turning gray ; respectably dressed, wears silver ring on right little finger; is a farmer and rent warner. DESCRIPTION of James Kane, native of Dunboggan, who stands charged with having, on the night of 23rd December, 1884, in the barony of Longford, parish of Killoe, assaulted Patrick Hourican so as to endanger his life :— Walks erect, Yankee appearance, small dark moustache and " imperial," cheeks shaved; gray eyes, slightly cocked nose, pale complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 32 years of age, dark hair; wore a black coat, gray tweed trowsers and vest; is a shoemaker. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Kerr, native of Bally- nacargey, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd day of December, 1884, in the barony of Moydow, parish of Killashee, embezzled certain sums of money ( amount unknown), the property of Mathew Davison, of Moate :— Has a small boil over one eye, hazel eyes, long nose, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 23 years of age, brown hair; wore a hard round black hat, striped Ulster coat, light trowsers, and brown vest; is a tea agent and shop assistant. This woman is probably in one of the northern counties. DESCRIPTION of a person, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 29th December, 1884, at Clorogemore, in the barony of Scarawalsh, parish of Templeshambo, fired at and wounded John Murphy, gamekeeper :— Brown eyes, slightly cocked nose, sandy or fair complexion, round full face, medium make, active appearance, about 5 feet 8 inches high, about 32 years of age, light or brown hair; wore a soft hat, old faded or dirty tweed clothes, and in the coat there was a grayish stripe; is a poacher. This man was poaching when he fired the shot, and was accompanied by another man about the same age and size, and somewhat similarly dressed. They had with them a red setter, with white muzzle, and tip of tail believed to be white, and a black dog, supposed a cross between a pointer and grayhound. .
