STOLEN, by means of housebreaking, early this morning, from a general dealer's shop in Motherwell, in this county— entrance effected by forcing a shutter off a back window, undoing the snib, and raising the window:— Watches— eleven silver; two hunting Genevas, old, and without glasses, one wants the rim for glass; five Genevas, white dials, black chapters, and steel hands— two with flat glasses, one with round glass, and one old without the glass ; three Boston levers, two having German silver rims, silver dials, and black chapters ( one No. 968,482), and one new with white dial ( No. 14,654); one lever, white dial, black chapters, carved cases, with gold garter on back ( No. 39,445). Other numbers not known. Alberts— four silver— one curb pattern, one long- link pattern, the other two cannot be described. Seal*— six or seven silver; some Victoria and St. \ ndrew's Cross patterns, the others round, and all having compass in centre. Ear- riDgs— seven pairs gold ; three pairs 9- carat, round, small drop shape, one pair plain, three linked pattern, aftd three pairs 9- carat, with pendant imitation of steamboat steering wheel. Rings— nineteen ladies' gold ; four common keeper, 9- carat; fourteen stone rings— five or six 15- carat, one with three pearls, the others pearls and rubies, eight 9- carat set with four or five pearls each, one of them extra large size; and one old, carved, and set with rubies, two or three of the stones awanting. Ring case— a brown morocco, eight inches by four inches, lined with white satin ; holds twenty- four rings. Brooch— a gold oval, small size, having three bright stones in centre. Money — four pounds ten shillings, consisting of one pound note ( Bank of Scotland), one half- sovereign, and the remainder in silver. Special search and inquiry is requested of pawn- brokers,' brokers, watchmakers, jewellers, and others for the above property, and the thief or thieves, and any information obtained to be communicated by telegram or otherwise to the undersigned. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Reilly ( fictitious), native place unknown, and a man, name and native place unknown, who stand charged with having, on the night of 18th or morning of 19th December, 1884, in the barony of Clankee, parish of Knockbride, stolen a heifer, tlie property of Alice Hand, value £ i 10a., and sold it in the fair of Cootehill on the 19th inst. The heifer has been recovered:— 1. Slightly stooped shoulders, small side whiskers, regular nose, pale complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair ; wore a low soft hat, bright tweed coat, tweed trowsers and vest, and laced boots, toe of one broken. 2. Smooth face, no beard, gray eyes, regular nose, regular face, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 23 years of age; wore a bright tweed coat, tweed trowsers and vest, and leggings. DESCRIPTION of George M'Carthy, native of Dripsey, who stands charged with having, on the 1st December, 1884, in the barony of West Muskerry, parish of Ahabullogue, in conjunction with Charles M'Carthy, who is now in custody, stolen three sheep, the property of Michael Healy, of Aghavrin :— Down looking, wild dark eyes, sharp pointed nose, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 30 years of age ; is a labourer. < Ballincollig, Dec. 12, 1884. DESCRIPTION of Arthur O'Leary, who has been missing from his home at Passage West, in the barony of Kirricurrihy, parish of Marmullane, since 10th November, 1884 :— Gray eyes, aquiline nose, fresh complexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches hiph, about 51 years of age, brown hair, brown whiskers and moustache slightly tinged with gray; wore a round black felt hat, black coat, trowsers, and vest, and elastic- sided boots; is a pensioner from 1st Battalion, North Lancashire Regiment, and by trade a sawyer. Queenstown, Dec. 6, 1884. ( 66323 o.— 15994.) DESCRIPTION of two men names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 24th November, 1884, in the barony of Condons and Clongibbons, parish of Litter, assaulted Edward Lyons, of Killeagh, on the public road at Gurrane, near Fermoy, and robbed him of the following property, seven £ 1 notes, two half- crowns, one florin, and sixpence, also penknife,- a pipe, and tobacco :— 1. Long face, slight make, 6 feet high, about 35 years of age, fair hair, and light moustache ; wore a wideawake hat, long black coat, and dark trowsers. 2. Very dark complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 40 years of age, small dark whiskers, dark hair; wore a wideawake hat, dark muffler, long black coat, and dark trowsers. The two tramps, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having committed a rape on Anastatia Keane, an old woman of about 83 years of age, described in the Hue- and- Cry of 1st July, have not been arrested. DESCRIPTION of two persons, supposed to be Michael Kelly and his wife, native places unknown, who stand charged on suspicion with having, on the night of 30th November, or morning of 1st December, 1884, in the barony of Banagh, parish of Killaghtee, murdered one Bridget Cunningham:— 1. Swaggering gait, brown moustache, small side whiskers, brown eyes, regular nose, rather pale com- plexion, round full face, stout make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 35 or 40 years of age, black hair, turning gray; wore a round black felt hat, old gray coat rather long, dark coloured trowsers is; anitinerant fiddler. 2. Blue eyes, long pointed nose, pale complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 3 inches high, about 30 years of age, sandy hair; wore an old dark gray shawl; is a tramp, and accompanies No. 1 from town to town. Mary Bligh, alias Lynch, native of Ballymoe, who disappeared from her home, in the barony of Bally- moe, parish of Drumatemple, on or about the 9th January, 1884, has not been since heard of; Hue- and- Cry, 28th March, 1884. DESCRIPTION of Denis Reardon ( mother's surname Purcell), native of Ballyfinane, county Kerry, who stands charged with having, on the 25th day of December, 1884, in the barony of Dunkerron North, parish of Tuagh, stolen from a press in the dwelling house of his master, Eugene Mangan, a five pound bank nole ( No. not known), also a tweed trowsers and vest, and a black felt hat:— Dark brown eyes, broad nose, fresh complexion, round full face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 22 or 23 years of age, fair hair; wore a black felt hat, dark tweed coat, gray tweed trowsers and vest; tattooed with the letters " D. R." and " Cross" on left wrist; nail broken on thumb of right hand, and cast in left eye. Killorglin, Dec. 26, 1884. ( 66581 c.— 16388.) DESCRIPTION of Michael Ahern, native of Lish- eenashingane, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 19th November, 1884, in the barony of Magonihy, parish of Aglish, seriously assaulted Timothy Sullivan, of Lacarhoo, by fracturing his jawbone, thereby placing his life in danger:— Round shoulders, generally holds his head down when spoken to, thick lips and large hands, gray eyes, short thick nose, fair complexion, broad face, very stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 36 years of age, very fair hair, sandy beard cut short, no moustache; wore a round hard hat, black frock coat, tweed trowsers and vest; is a farmer. ' DESCRIPTION of a donkey's cart, the property of Thomas Brennan, which was stolen from off the street of Celbridge, parish of Killdrought, and barony of North Salt, on the night of the 22nd December, 1881, viz.:— A spring dray, body of a dirty brown colour, one shaft better than the other, square and put in rough, one side of railing warped, about a foot square of sheeting off body in front, a hole therein, springs, low, side boards red colour, front board wanting, brackets of two side boards worn from wheels, wheels red, rims and felloes of both nearly new, drafts attached to each shaft of small link pattern, back band old and fastened round shafts, piece of zinc nailed to shaft with " J. Brennan" painted thereon ; value for £ 2. Description of a man, name and residence un- known, who was seen with a gray coloured donkey and harness ( collar apparently new) close to this dray the night it was taken :— About 60 years of age, gray whiskers, wore a hard low hat, appeared to be lame of left foot; supposed to be a bog man. DESCRIPTION of John Bergin, native of Ballincur, who stands charged with having, on the 27th day of October, 1884, in the barony of Ballybritt, parish of Kinnetty, seriously assaulted John Mooney, and, being out on bail, failed to come up for trial on 23rd instant:— Generally keeps his hands in his trowsers' pockets, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, medium make, 6 foet high, about 25 years of age, brown hair ; wore a low black hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of James Kane, native of Dunboggan> who stands charged with having, on the night of 23rd December, 1884, in the barony of Longford, parish of Killoe, assaulted Patrick Hourican so as to endanger his life :— Walks erect, Yankee appearance, small dark moustache and " imperial," cheeks shaved ; gray eyes, slightly cocked nose, pale complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 32 years of age, dark hair; wore a black coat, gray tweed trowsers and vest; is a shoemaker. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Kerr, native of Bally- nacargey, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd day of December, 1884, in the barony of Moydow, parish of Killashee, embezzled certain sums of money ( amount unknown), the property of Mathew Davison, of Moate :— Has a small boil over one eye, hazel eyes, long nose, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 23 years of age, brown hair; wore a hard round black hat, striped Ulster coat, light trowsers, and brown vest; is a tea agent and shop assistant. DESCRIPTION of Mary Bergin ( mother's name Margaret Devaney), native of Granard, who stands charged with having failed to surrender herself for trial at Longford Quarter Sessions, on 31st October, 1884. This woman is probably in one of the northern counties. Her occupation is most likely that of a prostitute:— Dark eyes, small . cocked nose, pale complexion, round face, medium make, 4 feet 8 inches high, about 18 years of age, dark hair; is a servant girl or prostitute. DESCRIPTION of an ass, the property of Andrew Dobson, which was stolen from out of his stable at Rathmore, parish of Rathmore, and barony of Lune, county Meath, on night of 19th or morning of 20th instant:— A dark brown gelding ass, white under belly and top of nose, long tail, not shod, 6 years old ; value for £ 3. DE'RIPTION of Patrick M'Elmeel, native of Cooldavnett, who stands charged with having, on the 19th December, 1884, in the barony of Monaghan, parish of Tydavnett, seriously assaulted one Frances Sherry, thereby placing his life in danger:— Leans forward when walking, flat feet, shuffling gait, wild gray eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 50 years of age, brown hair; wore a brown tweed coat, corduroy trowsers, and brown tweed vest; is a farmer. DESCRIPTION of John O'Brien, native of county Tipperary, who stands charged with " having, on the night of 22nd December, 1884, in the barony of Clondonagh, parish of Eirk, broken into the dwelling- house of Mary Brophy, and robbed her of the sum of 17*. :— Broad square shoulders, stout make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 35 years of age, shaves all his face except moustache ; wore a soft hat, frieze coat, cord trowsers ; is a tramp and labourer. DESCRIPTION of John Keating ( mother's surname Russell), native of Abbey, who stands charged with having, on the 1st instant at Suirville, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Athassal, seriously assaulted William Raleigh by stabbing him in the arm with some sharp instrument:— Blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 19 or 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a black slouched hat, dark tweed coat, corduroy trowsers, and tweed vest; is a farmer's son. DESCRIPTION of Michael Flanagan and William Connor, native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 12th instant, at Laragh, in the barony of Ballinacor, parish of Derrylossery, broken open a vacant dwelling- house, and did tear up, damage, and destroy a timber partition in said dwelling- house, and were burning same when arrested by the Police; supposed may have com- mitted offences elsewhere:— 1. Dark eyes, regular nose, dark sallow complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 23 years of age, black hair cut short; wore a black cloth cap with peak, black cloth jack coat, gray tweed trowsers, and dark tweed vest; is a tramp. 2. Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, long thin face, medium make, 5 feet high, about 18 years of age, fair hair; wore an old round hard hat, old dark tweed coat, barragan trowsers, and old dark tweed vest; is a tramp.
