" All things were by Him, and without Him was not anything that was made." He is All in All in P: made made rovidences; universal to all; special to His Church ; particular to ourselves. He is our All in redemption— so in justifi- cation ; there is not a sin pardoned but for His merit's sake. He is our Righteousness, our Peace, our Pro- pitiation, and our Advocate. He is All in All in con- solation. The Spirit, who is the Comforter, is of His sending ; and how doth the Spirit comfort but by tell- ing the soul that Christ is ours ? Christ alone keeps us from falling away and being overcome by tempta- tion. He is All in All for teaching and for strength ; and there is no dying safely and comfortably without Him. Never fear to look Death in the face if Christ be thine. He will be All in All at Judgment. He is the Judge— the Advocate— our only plea ; and what is the heaven of heaven but to be with Jesus— to behold His Glory and to partake with Him in it 1 He is the Alpha from whom All comes, and the Omega to whom All tends. Christ is All in All to be known— to be chosen— to be loved— to be desired— to be delighted in — to be trusted— to be thought on— to be preached— to be followed as our Pattern for imitation.
