WANTED on a Bench Warrant, granted by the Judge at the Assize Court, York Castle, on the 14th instant, charged with perjury, John Bagen or Baigen, a gamekeeper, late of Bromptop. near Scarborough, in the North riding of Yorkshire:— From 30 to 85 years of- ago, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, slender build, sallow coipplexioD, face very much freckled, auburn hair iucjinod to curl; sandy whiskers nnd moustache, downcast look, right shoulder up a little, hangs his head slightly down when walking, supposed, to have been previously in the service, of the Earl of Wicklow; dressed when he loft here on the 28th of September last in a gray , tweed suit,, same shape as generally woijn by gamekeepers, black hard felt hat, and lace- up j^ oots, This man has a wife and three children who followed him, and left here on tho Ist October; wife about 30 yoars of age, & b< jut 5 feet high, stout build, sallow corhplexion, speaks with an Irish accent; dressed in a gray or brown winsey dress, black cloth jacket, black and white plaid shawl, black straw hat trimmed with black velvet, and elastic side boots. 1st child, a girl about 6 years of age, fair complexion, brown hair, stout full face; dressed in a gray \\ insey dress, gray Ulster, white straw hat trimmed with blue ribbon, and lace- up boots. 2nd child, a boy 4 yoars of age, light brown hair; dressed in a brown ffock, gray Ulster coat, brown straw sailor hat with mixed verge, and lace boots. 3rd child, a boy 18 months old; wore a brown frock and black hood; wifo carried him in her arms wrapped up in a black and white plaid shawl. WHEREAS, at 5 40 A M. on Thursday, the 4th instant, the dead body of Jonas Bottomley, confectioner, Keighley, Was found lying, face downwards, on tho canal side, near Monk Bridge Forge, in this borough, and on medical examination, there were found a largo, wound on tho forehead and another on the back of theheatf. There was missing from his vest; pocket ( supposed stolen) a medium- sized gold Gcnova watch, silver gilt,, dial much worn, and flowored back also much worn. An inquest was held oii the 18th instant, and a verdict of wilful murder, - returned against some porson or persons unffrtowtf)' 1 ' Notice is hereby given that tho abovo reward will be paid by Her Majesty's Government to any person ( other than a porson belonging to a Police force in tho United Kingdom) who shall give such infor- mation and evidence as shall lead to tho discovery and conviction of tho murderer or murderers, and the Secretary of State will adviso the grant of Her Majesty's Gracious Pardon to any accomplice, not being the person Who actually committed flic murder, who. shall give such evidence as shall lead to a like result. WanteD for the murder of John Dukes, in Hill-| ' street, Birmingham, on the night of the 9Wk August, - 1883, Martin M'Gann and William Ryan -:— I. Description of Martin M'Gann— About 21 years' cut scar on left cheek; walks erect; speaks slowly, with an Irish accent. Dressed in a dark coat, brown trowsers, and silk handkerchief round his neck. Trade, wood button turner. . 2. Description of William Ryan— Age ' 19, height 5 feet 6 or 7 inches, hair— dark, complexion sallow, thin build. Dressed, when last seen, in a dark cuta- way coat and black greasy trowsers. Trade, a brass caster. ' 1 The above- named men absconded from Birming- ham on the 28th August last, both having lived in Grosvenor- street, Ladywood, Birmingham, and are well' known in Essington- street, Birmingham, where they formerly resided. A verdict of wilful murder against M'Gann and Ryan was returned by the Coroner's Jury at the in- quest, held at Birmingham on the 13th September instant, and the Coroner has issued his Warrants for their apprehension. Notice is hereby given, that Her Majesty's Government offer a reward of £ 100 to any person other than a person belonging to a Police Force in the United Kingdom who shall give such information and evidence as shall lead to the discovery and con- viction of the murderer or • murderers, and the Secretary of State will advise the grant of Her Majesty's Gracious Pardon to any accomplice, not being the person who actually committed the murder, who shall give such evidence as shall lead to a like result. WASTED hepe on a sherriff's Warrant, charged with haying, on the 3nd inst., fraudulently obtained £ 42 from Wyllie and Lochhead, Buchanan- street, Cameron M'Leod;— A . clerk, between 45 and 50 years of age, 5 . feet 8 or 9 inches high, slender made,, thin face, sallow complexion, dark hair, dark moustache, no beard or whiskers ; dressed in a small checked dark tweed jacket suit and dark tweed Ulster.; smart appearance, carries a walking stick. He has a deep scar from bullet wound on right temple, and was a Paymaster Sergeant in 71st Regiment up till 1879. Police officers are requested to have particular search and inquiry made for accused at hotels, shipping offices, and other likely places, and if found to arrest and wire to the subscriber, when an officer will be sent for him. WANTED, for burglary at Holyhead on the SOth ultimo, William Patrick Reilly, Supervisee D 806 Age 28 years, height 5 feet inches, proportionate built, dark hair, gray eyes, two blue marks between left thumb and forefinger, marks of flogging on back, left ankle fractured, numerous scars on head and hands, and cut- mark on cheek; convicted at Beaumaris Assizes, 12th July, 1877, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude,' and 5 years' Police Supervision. DESCRIPTION of James Regan, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 16th November, 1883, in the barony of Cork, parish of Holy Trinity, passed two base florins, and is returned for trial to Winter Assizes to be held in Cork on 7th prox. There is every reason to believe he is a returned convict, or was convicted before, and may possibly be known to the Police in either Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, or London:— Rupture on right side of abdomen, slightly knock- kneed, turns out his toes when walking, speaks with an English accent, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inohes high, about 60 years of age, gray hair ; wore a soft felt hat, blue pilot pea jacket, cord trowsers, and barragan vest, black and white woollen muffler, and strong laced boots ; lost several teeth. George Redmond, native of Ferns, county Wexford, who stands charged with having, on the 24 th October, 1883, in the barony of Kilma- crenan, parish of Conwal, escaped from Letterkenny Bridewell when awaiting his trial for larceny of clothing from the dwelling- house of George Brown, of Drumganty, county Tyrone :— Small tender eyes, ^ lightly hooked nose, pale complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 23 years of age, light brown hair, slight hairs growing on his jaws; wore a tweed cap, old torn blue frock coat, light tweed trowsers.' and old blue vest, had no boots or shirt on when ho escaped ; is a tramp ; states he was a sailor. DESCRIPTION of John Ryan, native of Thurles, county Tipperary, who is in custody, charged with having, on the 23rd of October, 1883. jp the barony of Newry, parish of Newry, stolen a gold watch and chain, and who may have committed offences elsewhere:— Prominent under lip, anil harrow chin, very delicate appearance, dark full eyes, long nose, fair complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair ; wore a jerry bat, brown waterproof coat, brown trowsers, and blue vest? is a servant. DESCRIPTION of a person, name and native pi; unknown, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 12th or morning of the 13th November, 1883, in the barony of Clane, parish of Caragh, stolen one bullock and one heifer, the property of Peter Byrne, of Donore:— Medium make, about 5 feet 11 inches high, about 40 years of age, chin shaven, had whiskers and beard under his chin ; wore a dark coat and tweed trowsers; had the appearance of a farmer. • Naas December 5, 1883. William Tegan ( attempt to commit a rape), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 16th'March, 1883. DESCRIPTION of James Morrissey, native of Smiths- town, who stands charged with having, on the 29th September, 1883, at Mullinavat, in the barony of Knocktopher, parish of Kilbacon, seriously assaulted James Dollard, from the effects of which his life is in danger :— May have fresh , cut- marks on right hand, gray eyes, straight nose, pale complexion, thin face, rtiedium make, 5 feet 8 inches higb, about 21 years of age, dark brown hair'; wore a soft bltick " hat, black frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, and dark Vest; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Deady, native of Bally- knockane, who, on the 26th November, 1883, in the barony of Corkaguiny, parish of Kilquane, left his house at Ballyknockane, and has not since been heard of, and it is feared some harm has befallen him :— Hare lip, deaf and dumb, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, about 70 years of age, gray hair ; wore a hard woollen hat, flannel trowsers and vest; is a small farmer. DESCRIPTION of James Morrissey ( mothers name Mary Cashin), native of Smithstown, who stands charged with having, on the 29tli September, 1883, in a public house, at Mullinavat, in the barony of Knock- topher, parish of Kilbeacon, seriously assaulted James Dollard, by striking him on the forehead with a glass tumbler, from the effects of which his life is now in imminent danger, though he did not complain thereof until 16th instant -.— Has a cut ( which may be now healed) on, . the palm, of right hand, from the effects of the tumbler breaking therein when striking Dollard, clean fiice without either beard or whiskers, gray qr blue eyes, regalar nose, fair complexion, regular face, slight make, 5 feet V j inches high, abotit 20 years of age, dark hair; wore a dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farm labourer, and it is believed he lefffor America on 16tli instant. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Molony, alias James Ryan, native of Castleconnell, who stands charged with having, on the 20th October, 1883, in the barony of Coshma, parish of Adare, stolen from the residence of Patrick O'Donnell, of Islanden, the following articles of wearing apparel:— One brown tweed frock coat, ope pair shepherd plaid trowsers and vest, and one pair of shoes:— Smart appearance, regular nose, pale complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 19 years of age; is a servant boy. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Kittrick, native of Fer- nioyle, county Mayo, who stands charged with having, on the evening of 27th November, 1883, in the barony of Murrisk, parish of Kilgeever, and townland of Fermoyle, committed a rape :— About a dozen blotches on face; gray eyes, short thick nose, fresh complexion, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches higb, about 23 or 24 years of age, fair hair; ware a round black soft hat, blue necktie, dark frieze coat, and tweed trowsers and, vest; is a labourer. The cattle belonging to Timothy Hughes, and described in the Hue- and- Cry of 30th November, have been found straying, although it is believod they were stolen. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Clarke ( mother's surname Lenaghan), native of Runnabol, who stand? charged with having, on the 17th day of October, 1883, in the barony of Frenchpark, parish of Kilmacumsey, dangerously assaulted Patrick Beirne, from tho effects of which his life was in danger:— Mark of an old cut on. forehead, a hollow on crown of head from the efFect of a stroke of a stone, rather short neck, atid slightly stooped, dark eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 6 or 0 inches high, about 31 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a dark round hat, brown tweed coat, trowseis, and vest; is a farmer. Pale complexion, thin face, stout make, low- sized, about 35 years of age, sandy whiskers ; wore a round hat and blue pilot coat; is supposed to be a tramp. 2. Stout make, about 30 years of age ; wore a red plaid shawl. The man and woman were accompanied by a small spotted dog, either black and white or red and' white.
