S I THE L) omcti • a ma DUBLIN, FRIDAY,' DECEMBER 7, 1883 — J- i_ WANTED on a Bench Warrant, granted by the Judge at the Assize Court, York Castle, oa the 14th instant, charged with perjury, John Bagen or Baigen, a gamekeeper, late of Brompton, near Scarborough, in tho North Riding of Yorkshire:— From SO to 35 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, slender build, sallow complexion, face, very much freckled, auburn hair inclined to curl i sandy whiskers and moustache, downcast look, right shoulder up ia little, hangs his head slightly down when walking, supposed to have beep previously in tho » « rrice of the. Earl of Wicklow) dressed when he left here on the U8th of September last in a gray twieed suit, same shape as generally worn by gamekeepers, black hard felt hat, and lace- up boots. This man has a wife and throe children who followed him, and left here on the Ut. October; wife about SO years of age, about 5 feet high, stout build, sallow complexion, speaks with an Irish accent; dressed in a gray or brown witisey dress, black cloth jacket, black nn^ white plaid shawl, black straw hat trimmed with black velvet, and elastic side boots. 1st child, a girl about 6 years of age, fair complexion, brown hair, Stout full face ; dressed in a gray winsey dress, gray Ulster, white straw hat trimmed with blue ribbon, and lace- up boots. 12nd child, u boy 4 years of age, light brown hair; dressed In a brown frock, gray Ulster coat, brown straw sailor hat with mixed verge, and lace boots. 3rd child, a boy 18 months old; wore a brown frock and black hood; wife carried him in her arms wrapped up in a black and white plaid shawl. WHEREAS, at 5 40 AM. on Thursday, the 4th instant, the dead body of Jonas Bottomley, confectioner, Keighley, was found lying, face downwards, on the canal side, near Monk Bridge Forge, it) this borough, and on medical examination, there were found a large wound on the forehead aud another on , the back of the head- There was missing from his vest pocket ( supposed stolen) a medium - sized gold Geneva watch, silver gilt dial much worn, and flowered back also much worn. An inquest was held on the 18th instant, and a verdict of wilful murder returned against some perpon or persons unknown. Notice is hereby given that the above reward will be paid by Her Majesty's Government to any person ( other than a person belonging to a Police force in the United Kingdom) who shall give such infor- mation and evidence as shall1 lead to the discovery aud conviction of the murderer or murderers, and the Secretary of State will advise the grant of Her Majesty's Gracious Pardon to any accomplice, not being the person who actually committed the anurder, who shall give such evidence as shall lead to a like result. DESCUIITION of John O'Brien, native of Dublin, who is in custody, charged with having, on the 3rd day of December, 1883, in the barony of Clonkee, parish of Bailieboro', stolen from James Coyle the sum of £ 5 4s. 7at the fair of Bailieboro'; he may, have committed crime elsewhere, lis he refuses to give a satisfactory account of himself:— Pimples on face near nose, speaks with a slight Scotch accent, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, ' round face, stout mako, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 33 years of age, sandy bushy whiskers and moustache ; wore a dark brown tweed coat, trowsers, and vest.' DESCRIPTION of James Regan, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 16th November, 1883, in the barony of Cork, parish of Holy Trinity, passed two base florins, and is returned for trial to Winter Assizes to be held in Cork on 7th prox. There is every reason to believe he is a returned convict, or was convicted before, and may possibly be known to the Police in either Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, or London:— Rupture on right side of abdomen, slightly knock- kneed, turns out his toes when walking, speaks with an English accent, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 60 years of age, gray hair wore a soft felt hat, blue pilot pea jacket, cord trowsers, and barragan vest, black and white woollen muffler, and strong laced boots ; lost several teeth. DESCRIPTION of a person, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 12th or morning of the 13th November, 1883, in the barony ; of Clane, parish of Caragh, stolen one bullock and one heifer, the property of Peter Byrne, of Donore:— Medium make, about 5 feet 11 inches high, about 40 years of age, chin shaven, had whiskers and beard under his chin ; wore a dark coat and tweed trowsers; had the appearance of a farmer. DESCRIPTION of James Morrissey, native of Smiths- town, who stands charged with having, on the 29th September, 1883, at Mullinavat, in the barony of Knocktopher, parish of Kilbacon, seriously assaulted James Dollard, from the effects of which his life is in danger:— May have fresh cut- marks on right hand, gray eyes, straight nose, pale complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 21 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a soft black hat, black frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, and dark, vest; is a labourer: Piltown, October 27, 1883. DESCRIPTION of James Morrissey ( mother's namo Mary Cashin), native of Smithstown, who stands charged with having, on the 29th September, 1883, in a public house, at Mullinavat, in the barony of Knock- topher, parish of Kilbeacon, seriously assaulted James Dollard, by striking him on the forehead with a glass tumbler, from the eflects of which his life is now in imminent danger, though he did not complain thereof until 16th instant:— Has a cut ( which may be now healed) on the palm of right hand, from the effects of the tumbler breaking therein when striking Dollard, clean face without either beard or whiskers, gray or blue eyes, regalar nose, fair complexion, regular face, slight make, 5 feet inches high, about 20 years of age, dark hair; wore a dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farm labourer; and it is believed he left for America on 16th instant. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Molony, alias James Ryan, native of Castleconnell, who stands charged with having, on the 26th October, 1883, in the barony of Coshma, parish of Adare, stolen from the residence of Patrick O'Donnell, of Islanden, tbe following articles of wearing apparel:— One brown tweed frock coat, one pair shepherd plaid tuowsers and vest, and one pair of shoes:— Smart appearance, regular nose, pale complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 19 years of age; is a servant boy. DKSCRIPTION of Thomas Kittrick, native of Fer- moyle, county Mayo, who' stands charged with having, on the evening of 27th November, 1883, in the barony of Murnsk, parish of Kilgeever, and townland of Fermoyle, committed a rape :— About a dozen blotches on face; gray eyes, short thick nose, fresh complexion, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 23 or 24 years of age, fair hair; wore a round black soft hat, blue necktie, dark frieze coat, and tweed trowsers and vest; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Clarke ( mother's surname Lenaghan), native of Runnabol, who stands charged with having, oh the 17th day of October, 1883, in the barony of Frenchpark, parish of Kilmacumsey, dangerously assaulted Patrick Beirne, from the effects of which his life was ill danger:— Mark of an old cut on forehead, a hollow on crown of head from tho effect of a stroke of a stone, rather short neck, and slightly stooped, dark eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 5 or 0 inches high, about 35 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a dark round hat, brown tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer. This man was admitted to bail to take his trial at Winter Assizes, Sligo, on- 4th instant; on above, chargehe failed to appear. A Warrant has been issued for his arrest. Strokestown, Dec. 5, 1883. DESCRIPTION of Peter M'Mullin, native of Cadian, county Tyrone, who, on the 7th October, J. 883, in the barony of Dungannon, parish of Clonfeacle, and townland of Cadian, disappeared from his residence at Cadian, and has not since been heard of; he showed symptoms of derangemept of mind for a short time previous, and it is feared something wrong may have happened to him:— Stooped shoulders, and used a stick when walking, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 70 years of age, gray hair; wore an old worsted cap, black coat, velvet on. collar, black cord trowsers, and old brown vest. Pale complexion, thin face, stout make, low- sized, about 35 years of age, sandy whiskers; wore a round hat and blue pilot coat; is supposed to be a tramp. 2. Stout make, about 30 years of age ; wore a red plaid shawl. The man and woman were accompanied by a small spotted dog, either black and white or red and white.
