DUBLIN, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 1883. ENGLISH POLICE. WANTED on a Bench Warrant, granted by the Judge at the Assize Court, York Castle, on the 14th instant, charged with perjury, John Bagen or Baigen, a gamekeeper, late of Brompton, near Scarborough, in the North Biding of Yorkshire:— From 30 to 35 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, slender build, sallow complexion, face very much freckled, auburn hair inclined to curl; sandy whiskers and moustache, downcast look, right shoulder up a little, hangs his head slightly down when walking, supposed to have been previously in the service of the Earl of Wicklow ; dressed when he left here on the 28th of September last in a gray tweed suit, same shape as generally worn by gamekeepers, black hard felt hat, and lace- up boots. This man has a wife and three children who followed him, and left here on the 1st October; wife about 30 years of age, about 5 feet high, stout build, sallow complexion, speaks with an Irish accent; dressed in a gray or brown winsey dress, black cloth jacket, black and white plaid shawl, black straw hat trimmed with black velvet, and elastic side boots, lst child, a girl about 6 years of age, fair complexion, brown hair, stout full face; dressed in a gray winsey dress, gray Ulster, white straw hat trimmed with blue ribbon, and lace- up boots. 2nd child, a boy 4 years of age, light brown hair; dressed in a brown frock, gray Ulster coat, brown straw sailor hat with mixed verge, and lace boots. 3rd child, a boy 18 months old; wore a brown frock and black hood; wife carried him in her arms wrapped up in a black and white plaid shawl. ( 27498 M.— 50646.) £ 100 REWARD. WILFUL MURDER. WHEREAS, at 5 40 A. M. on Thursday, the 4th instant, the dead body of Jonas Bottomley, confectioner, Keighley, was found lying, face downwards, on the canal side, near Monk Bridge Forge, in this borough, and on medical examination, there were found a large wound on the forehead and another on the back of the head. There was missing from his vest pocket ( supposed stolen) a medium- sized gold Genova watch, silver gilt dial much worn, and flowered back also much worn. An inquest was held on the 18th instant, and a verdict of wilful murder returned against some person or persons unknown. Notice is hereby given that the above reward will ho paid by Her Majesty's Government to any person ( other than a person belonging to a Police force in the doited Kingdom) who shall give such infor- mation and evidence as shall lead to the discovery and conviction of the murderer or murderers, and the Secretary - of State will advise the grant of Her Majesty's Gracious Pardon to any accomplice, not being the person who actually committed the murder, who shall give such evidence as shall lead to a like result. WANTED for the murder of John Dukes, in Hill- street, Birmingham, on the night of the 5th August, 1883, Martin if.' Gann and William Ryan :— 1. Descripflw of Martin M'Gann— About 21 years » fage, 6 feet 6 or 7 inches high, hair bre- vn, com- plexion fair, slightly freckled, proportionate build; cut scar on left cheek; walks erect; speaks slowly, with an Irish accent. Dressed in a dark coat, brown trowsers, and silk handkerchief round his neck. Trade, wood button turner. 2. Description of William Ryan— Age 19, height 5 feet 6 or 7 inches, hair dark, complexion sallow, thin build. Dressed, when last seen, in a dark cuta- way coat and black greasy trowsers. Trade, a brass caster. The above- named men absconded from Birming- ham on the 25th August last, both having lived in Grosvenor- street, Ladywood, Birmingham, and are well known in Essington- street, Birmingham, where they formerly resided. A verdict of wilful murder against M'Gann and Ryan was returned by the Coroner's Jury at the in- quest, held at Birmingham on the 13th September instant, and the Coroner has issued his Warrants for their apprehension. He has a deep scar from bullet wound on right temple, and was a Paymaster Sergeant in 71st Regiment up till 1879. Marks of scrofula under chin, hazel eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, round face, stout make, 4 feet 9 inches high, about 30 years of age, brown hair turning gray; wore the union clothing; is a pauper. 2. Dark eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, regular face, slight make, 4 feet 6 inches high, about 22 years of age, brown hair; wore the union clothing ; is a pauper. Longford, Sep. 13, 1883. DESCRIPTION of Martin Sheridan, native of Cor- bally, Portroe, who stands charged with having, on the 10th October, 1883, in the barony of Lower Ormond, parish of Nenagh, stolen an ass, tackling, and car, the property of Michael Hurley, of Pallas, from the yard of Daniel Darcey, of Nenagh :— Sallow complexion, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches higb, about 35 years of age ; wore an old dark coat and cord trowsers; very excitable, fond of drink, and talks loud when intoxicated; is a cattle drover. A yellow coloured bullock, spotted with a few white spots on body, 6 months old; value for about £ 5. 2. A pale yellow coloured heifer, some large white spots on body, short horns turned backwards, a number branded on one of the fore feet, one and a half years old ; value for £ 6. Description of the ass :— A male ass, 4 years old, gray colour, long tail, white nose, mark of angleberry on centre of belly which was cut off some time ago; value for (£ 3) three pounds. DESCRIPTION of Peter M'Mullin, native of Cadian, county Tyrone, who, on the 7th October, 1883, in the- barony of Dungannon, parish of Clonfeacle, and townland of Cadian, disappeared from his residence at Cadian, and has not since been heard of; he showed symptoms of derangement of mind for a short time previous, and it is feared something wrong may have happened to him :— Stooped shoulders, and used a stick when walking, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 70 years of age, gray hair; wore an old worsted cap, black coat, velvet on collar, black cord trowsers, and old brown vest.
