C. ' Whenever it is desired that any person should be appre- hended, and the Name is given, it is indispensably necessary that an information should be made and sworn to before a Magistrate, of the Offence charged, and an attested copy thereof, together with • the advertisement, forwarded to the Editor for insertion. As no charge is made for the insertion of any article in the POLICE GAZETTE, all Letters addressed to the Editor mUBt be prepaid, otherwise the insertion will not be made. The Names and Descriptions of Deserters from the Army, and of Absentees and Deserters from the Militia, should be forwarded I4N War Office Forms 88 and 88A, to the Editor, above, for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE. . INFORMATIONS. MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING. Whcrea-, at 5 40 a. m. on 4th instant, the dead body of JONAS BO l TOM LEY, confectioner, Keighley, was found on the can I side near Monk Bridge Forge, Leeds, with a large wound on ibe f rehead and another on the back of the head ; there was missing from his vest pocket ( supposed stolen) a medium sized gold Geneva Watch, silver gilt dial much wo n, and flowered back, also much worn. An inquest was held on 18th instant, and a verd'etof Wilful Murder re- turned against some person or persons unknown. Notice is hereby given, that Her Majesty's Government offer A REWARD of £ 100 to any person ( other than a person belonging to a Police Force in the United Kingdom) who shall give emh infor- mation and evidence as shall lead to the ( Jiscovery aud con- viction of the Murderer, or Murderers, and the Secretarj- of State will advise the Grunt of Her Majesty's Gracious PARDON to any Accomplice not being the person who actually com- mitted the Murder, who shall give such evidence as shall lead to a like result. A starch or raiiin box, bearing ' Ricketts' Starch' under lid, 19 inches long, 11 inches wide, atjd 6 inches deep, was found in Fagle'y Lane, Eccleshill, at 5 30 a. m. on l& tn insr,, containing the Dead Bodies of two female infants, newly born, and apparently twins. A post- mortem examination was made on the bodies, which shewed that one had been still- born and that the other had died from pressure on the chest. At an inquest, held on 16th instant, the verdict was, ' One Murdered by some person or person^ unknown : the other still- born.' Information to Mr. Stipr. Symonds, W. R. Has a brother a cloth manufacturer in Huddersfield. Has resided in Aston near Birmingham, where he has acquaintances, is a widower and has three children, two girls aud a boy, whom he took with him, the oldest girl being about 17 years of age. Four men are suspected— one aVout 28 years of age, 5 ft. 6 inches high, dark complexion, black moustache and beard, about a we- k's growth, medium build ; diessed iu dark clothes ; another about 30 year2 of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, fresh complexion, no whiskers or moustache, tbia build; dressed in dark coat and light plaid trousers, and fiat crowned hat; the other, about 45 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, sallow comp'exior, no whiskers or moustache, stout build ; dressed in dark clothes ; and the other about 40 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, daik complexion, no whiskers or moustache ; dressed in dark clothes. Wanted on a charge of theft of a white merino Muffler ( diaper pattfi'u), and a silver Watch ( recovered), at Luigholm oa 19th iustant :— LEONARD SMITH, a pattern- weaver, belonging to Kendal, 19 or 20 years of age, 5 feet 6 to 8 ins. high, black hair cut in " can- can " f ishion iu front, no whiskers, thin- faced, supposed to have a scar on light cheek, dark eyes, teeth full in iront, smart- looking, but has a delicate appear- ance ; dressed in a blue jacket, dirk tweed vest and trousers, hard black felt hat, green tartan scarf, no collar, the stolen muffler, Lorne shoes, wears a red tartan shawl across his breast, under his vest. He srld the watch near Penrith, where he gave the name of THOMAS MORRAN or MORRIS, from Huddersfield, and afterwards took the train to Lancaster, where he arrived on night of 20th, and was heard of there till the following night, sines which no trace has been got of him. Stated he came from Burtnn- upon- Trent, where he had a sister a dressmaker living. By a man about 60 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 iuclies high, slight build, sallow complexion, long features, grey hair, moustache and whiskers meeting under chin ; supposed dressed in the stolen clothes, a pair of new heavy lice- up boott, and an old brown ( or black) hard felt hat. A plasterer, aud tramps the country, lodging at low lodging or beerhouses. Is addicted to drink and speaks quickly. Information to Mr. Supt. S. Louise, Regeat- street, London' marked inside ; a small maple coloured tin Box ; a pair of elastic- side Boots, kid tops, neaily new :— she is about 25 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, pale complexion, unhealthy looking, dark brown hair, projecting forehead, deep set eyes, squints a little with the left, and has a habit ot nearly closing it when speaking to any one, rather round shouldered, large feet; dressed in black jacket, lilac print dress, black turbau hat.
