Stolen from the person of a gentleman at Farnworth in Widness Athletic Sports, on 2lst instant, a gold keyless lever demi- huuting Watch, No. 9371, maker ' S. Goldstooe, Man- chester,' gold dial, chapters and fingers ; a gold Albert Chain, long and short links alternately, had two short Chains hangiug from bar, with a Locket made of two Spade Ace Guineas attached to end of one chain, aud a gold Compass with white dial to end of the other chain. £ 10 reward will be paid for such information as will lead to the apprehension and convic- tion of the thief and recovery of the property. Stolen from the person of Joseph Mansey. of 62, New- street, Darlaston, while attending a Foresters' F6te at Willen- hall on 23rd instant :— a silver Lever Watch, maker's name Harris, Manchester,' value £ 5. The pin of the bow is sup- posed to have been broken in disconnecting the watch from the guard chain. Information to Mr. Chief Supt. Stolen from the person at Llanwddyn, between 8 p. m. and 10 p. m. on the night of 3 . at ultimo :— a silver lever Watch, number not known, initials ' J. W,' engraved on the outside case. Supposed by a man, about 30 to 35 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, pde complexion, dark mous tache ; dressed in cotton cord trousers and a white slop. Information to Mr. Supt. Stolen from the person at Goodwood Races :— a cat's- eye Pin, set in diamonds; an open white- faced gold Watch, maker's name 1 Vye, Wimborne'; a gold Hunting Watch maker's i me not at present known, but resides at Bootle, Chain aLd Locket attached, locket marked ' R. L.' on one side, plain the other, and a small gold Seal, with plain black stone; a pearl Pir>, set with diamonds; and a large round BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. Stolen by means of housebreaking, at Pensnett, between 12 noon and 1 p. m. on 27th ultimo: — a silver Geneva Watch, No. 73599, marked on face and on inside case ' Ex- hibition Prize Medal,' white dial, steel fingers and seconds hand, has a small piece cut out of inside case to allow the winding wheel to work, has a long German Silver Guard attached. Information to Supt. Woollaston, Police Office, BRIERLEY HILL, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, August 3. Stolen by means of burglary at Tewkesbury, on 26th ult., from the ' Bell and Bowling Green' public- house, :— a wicker Plate Basket, lined with green baize, containing 26 Dessert Folks, marked ' African C. C. & S. Silverine'; 20 ditto, Bell and Bowling Green' and letter ' B.' in centre ; 12 ditto, ' F.'; 3 ditto, ' G. B.'; 1 large Fork, ' F.'; 2 Dessert Spoons, • F.'; 1 ditto and 3 Tea Spoon, ' Bell and Bowling GieeD '; 5 Tea Spoons, " hot marked ; and 3 Sauce Ladles, Bell and Bowling Green.' On 28th ultimo, 3 Forks, marked F.,' and 3 ditto, ' G. B,,' were offered for sale at Worcester, by a tramping woman, who was at once apprehended, when she gave her name as SARAH WRIGHT, native of Bridge- water, Somerset:— she is 40 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high brown hair curled on forehead, grey eyes, and mole on right side of mouth ; dressed in an old red coloured polonaise, made out of a shawl, old black dress, and white straw hat trimmed with black feather. States she was asked by a man, dressed in dark clothes, in Worcester, to sell the Forks for him, and that he had other forks in his possession. Information to Mr. Supt. Stolen by means of housebreaking at Clyro :— a lever bunting Watch, No. 12084, secor d hand broken off ; a steel Albert Chain, tied to watch with a piece of twine, and two sixpences. Supposed by a tramp, 40 to 50 years of age, about, 5 feet 8 inches high ; grey clothes, and cloth cap, with peak before and behind. Stolen by housebreaking on 25th instant, at Sessions House, Muntham Itchingfield : — an old silver pair- case Watch, No. 6595. Information to Mr. Supt. Henderson, West Sussex Constabulary, HORSHAM.— Bow- street, July 30. The tramp advertised in Police Gazette of 23rd instant, as wanted for committing a burglary at the Farlands Lingen, is apprehended and committed for trial at the Herefordshire Assizes, on the 30th instant:— he gives his name as THOS, WYLDE, and is known at tramps lodging - houses as BRUMMY TOM. Stolen by means of housebreaking at Christmas Common, Watliogton, Oxon, on 19th instant :— a dark cloth Jacket, man's f- ize ; a pair of small gold Ear- rings ; one odd Ditto ; a wedding Ring, much worn and broken ; a silver Ring with small red stone, much worn ; a small Brooch, with white stone, with a woman's head engraved thereon, imitation cameo: two small scent Bottles, metal tops; and a small Album, to hold four or six photographs. WHITHAM, costermonger, Whitechapel. 33 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, light brown hair, sandy whiskers, beard, aid moustache, surly- looking, and pockmarked ; dressed in a long dark coat, light coloured trousers, red neckerchief, black billycock hat, and laCe- up boots. Description of a man who called at stables in Blackpool, about 9.30 a. m. 28th ultimo, and hired a Grey Mare for an hour, about 13 hands 3 inches higt, 10 to 12 years old, capped on both bocks, tail rather long, cut square, bus on 3 new shoes and 1 old one, o'd sore marks on both shoulders, and a little loose bair on legs ; an army saddle with brass on front and back, and an old bridle with new face piece and snaffle bit, with which he has not1 yet returned :— abjut 21 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, light complexion; dressed in round dark jacket, brown tweed trousers, and hard black billycock hat. Stolen from a field in Shrewsbury, during the night of 24th instant:— a half- bred bay Mare, 15 hand* high, white star on forehead, white off hind fetlock, tail rubbed by the crupper, in good condition, . and rather smart appearance, 8 years old. and heavily shod with lipped shoes. Stolen from a stable at Welham Green, Herts, on the night of the 19th instant :— a bright bay ( Welch) Mare Pony, ll£ hands high, 8 years old, small white mark on back, little over on fore legs, long tail cut square, also collar and hames. HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING The chestnut Horse, reported stolen from Caverswall, Longton, on 26th ultimo, and advertised in Police Gazette LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT Stolen from Hemel Hempstead on 28th ultimo :— an alpaca Dress, made in three parts— jacket body, underskirt, aud overskirt, black velvet cuffs on sleeves ; also a scarlet Petticoat with black frill round the bottom ; and a pair of woman's button Boots, nearly new. By HARRIETT PHELPS, alias NOBMAN, 25 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, brown bair, small features, fresh colour, clean appear- ance, is a clever needlewoman, and very meek in her manners ; she is likely to apply for a situation ; she is wearing the stolen clothes with a black straw hat; is a native of Ayles- bury, Bucks, and is known at Andover, Hants. Has been imprisoned 6 months in Readiog Gaol, and 6 in St. Alban's Gaol, for felony. Information to Mr. Supt. S. Chapman, Herts, County Constabulary, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD, who holds a wairant for her apprehension.— Bow- street, August 3. Absconded on 28th ultimo, stealing £ 30 in Gold :— TIMOTHY GRIFFIN, a [ porter, 17 years of age ( looks older), 5 feet 3 iuches higb, sallow complexion, light brown hair, hazel eyes, two small scars below right eye ; dressed in light tweed cutaway coat, black vest, dark mixture tweed trousers, white tcarf, lace boots, black hard felt hat ( new). Wanted on a charge of stealing a pair of b'ack cloth Trousers and a Coat ( since recovered) : — a labourer, 47 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, fresh complexion, brown eyes, sandy hair, clean shaved, gslender build ; dressed iu a black billycock hat, brown cordurory trousers, dark tweed coat, and lace- up boots. Stolen in Guildford, on morning of 27th instant:— a bla « k Shawl, with fringe; a grey mauve Shawl, thick, dark border ; a blue cloth Table- cover, yellow border and centre ; one new cotton Shirt, striped red and white ; and a plated Mustard- pot, blue glass inside. By a tramping painter, 31 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, fair complexion, light brown hair, small light moustache and whiskers, medium build ; dressed in a dark brown plaid coat, dark cloth trousers, small check waist- coat, hard black felt hat, long side- spring boots, very thin. Information to Mr. Supt. J. H. Law, Borough Police, GUILD- FORD, Surrey.— Bow- street, July 30. Description of CHARLE3 HALFORD, late of Han- wood near Shrewsbury, butcher, wanted upon a warrant charged with embezzling on 18th instant, £ i 12s. 4d, and certain other monies of Herbert Cresswell, farmer and butcher, Hanwood :•— about 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 ins. high, slender build, dark hair, small light whiskers, pro- minent cheek bones, turns his feet out when walking, has the appearance of a groom ; dressed in a light mixture grey and red speckled jacket, dark grey trousers, with a dark stripe down them, dark grey cloth vest, mixed with dark stripes, hard low black felt hat, striped blue - rnd red cotton shirt, brown overcoat, with velvet collar, much worn, white muffler, strong iace- up boots, had a seft black jimcrow hat in bis pocket, has friends residing at Ledbury, Herefordshire and Pibberton, near Gloucester, and it is believed that he will emigrate to America. Stolen from the dwelling- house of Stephen Brunham, Aston Rowant, Oxon, cn the morning of 23rd instant:— £ 25 ] 0s. in Gold. By his son- in- law, GEORGE ING, an army reserve man of the 85th Regi. of Foot, and lately of Aston Rowant, labourer, 27 years of age, 5 feet 7£ iuches high, fair complexion, grey eyes, brown hair cut short, no beard or whiskers, sandy moustache, proportionate build, and walks erect; dressed in a round dark felt hat, dark coat with velvet collar, snuff- coloured trousers and waistcoat, and dark cloth top elastic- side boots. Took train at West Wycombe Railway Station for Paddington on the morning cf the robbery. Information to Mr. Supt. Henry Seers, Police Station, WATLINGTON, Tetsworth, Oxen, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 30. Stolen from a dwelling- house at Pendlebury, between 11 p. m. 21st and 8 am. 22nd instant:— a lady's Ulster, grey mixture cloth, with hood behind, one pocket on right side, 3 bone buttons at each side, and 3 at each sleeve, and 1 row down the front, the ulster has been repaired in front; a gent's black cloth Vest, siugle breasted, cloth covered buttons, part worn. Suspicion attached to a man and woman who lodged in th » house, but left early in the morniDg that the articles were missed :— SAMUEL VAUGHAN, a collier, 23 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, sallow complexion ; dressed in a brown mixture coat and vest, black mixture cloth trousers, dogs, and hard felt billycock hat. MARGARET POTrs, 19 or 20 years of age, 4 feet 11 inches higb, light hair, sallow complexion ; dressed in a print dress with red flowers, black straw hat trimmed with Davy blue velvet, black and white plaid shawl, and will very likely te wearing the stolen ulster. Stolen from a yard at Eccles, between 12 noon and 9 p. m., 14th instant:— a pair of old black silk Gloves, and 10 yards of brown Canvas, 36 inches wide and half worn. Information to County Police Office, OLD TRAFFORD, Man- chester.— Bow- street, July 30. Description of RICHARD COULTATE, wanted by warrant for embezzling £ 100, the Monies of his employers :— he is 27 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fresh complexion, round full face, light brown hair, moustache, and side whiskers, shaved on chin, stout build, broad shoulders, walks very erect, and with a quick step, and speaks rather sharp ; dressed, wben last seen, in black worsted morning coat and vest, and black billycock hat with broad brim. Information to. Chief Inspector Nortcliff, Detective Department, Town Hall, LEEDS— Bow- street, July 27. Absconded from Burslem on 25th instant, charged on warrant with stealing a quantity of Wearing Apparel ( part recovered) : — ANNIE POWELL, of 2,' Brown Sireet, Burslem, potter, 17 years of age, 5 feet high, fresh complexion, sandy hair, slender build; dressed in black cloth jacket, trimined with fur, dark stuff dress, elastic side boots, and the stolen articles, not recovered :— a white straw Hat, trimmed with claret and yellow coloured satin and white feather, and a grey woollen Shawl with friuge. She has an uncle, named Weaver, living at Hatton Heath, and another named Powell, at Prees, Salop. Information to Mr. Chief Supt. Hill, BURSLEM, who holds a warrant for her apprehension.— Row- street,, July 27. Description of ELIZA DUNBAR, alirs DAWSON and FIELDER, who is charged on a warrant with stealing from her lodgings at Slough, on 12th instant:— a small gold Geneva Watch, No. 7517 ; a silver lever Watch ; a lady's gold dia- mond Riug, and other articles. She is 28 years of age, but looks older, 5 feet 2 j inches high, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, fresli complexion, light side of mouth slightly drawn, a native of Wokingham, Berks ; dressed in a black satin dress, trimmed with lace, black velvet jacket, and a black chip hat with a feather. She was convicted on two chargss of larcsny in March, 1882, at Aldershot, and is supposed to have been convicted at other places. She goes from town to town obtaining respectable lodgings, and at the first opportunity she robs the same. Information to Supt. Thos.
