( a- All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover addressed to the Inspector- General of Constabulary, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. As the Law ( 48 Geo. 3, e. 140, s. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hue- and- Cry. Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the H> ^- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this, information it is almost impossible to rectify the mistake. FAILED to report his change of residence, licence holder, G 408, Henry Jackson, alias Robert Nally, n groom, native of Dublin, 29 years of age, 5 feet 7< inches high, stout build, brown hair, hazel eyes, fresh complexion, round features, scar on light elbow joint, flat- footed, fifth too of each foot overlaps fourth, convicted at Liverpool Sessions, 17th April, 1880, of being in possession of counterfeit coin, arid was sentenced to 5 years'penal servitude; u'lc„ d from ller Majesty's Convict Prison, Portsmouth, 15th March, 1883, on licence. He was previously convicted At Dublin, 4th February, 1879, of larceny, and . sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment Information to GEORGE WILLIAMS, Chief Superintendent, Deteetive Department, Liverpool. PARTICULARS relative to Convict Mary Egan, 2428, convictcd in tho county uf the city of Dublin, at the Commission, on 4th June, 1878, for felony of three coats, and sentenced to 5 years penal Servitude:— 65 vears of age on conviction, is a Hoinan Catholic, widow, is a dealer, was born in Limerick, resided before conviction in Dublin, her friends reside at Limerick; brown hair turning gray, gray eyes, light eyebrows, short nose, medium mouth, fresh complexion, broad and long visage, burn mark on right temple, stout niako, 5 feet 4 inches high. This convict was discharged from Mountjoy Prison on licence, 20th November, 1882, and went to Dublin. She left her residence, 91, Coombe, without notifying same to the Metropolitan Police, and her present whereabouts are unknown. In tho event of her arrest she should be dealt with undor tho 5th section of the Act 34 & 35 Vic., cap. 112. ( 26061 m.— 48109.) DESCRIPTION of William John Murphy, native of Ballynahincb, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd March, 1883, in the barony of Kinalarty, parish of Magheradrool. stolen two cows, the property of James Irwin, from his cow- house, at Creevytenant, near Ballynahinch. The cows were found in Murphy's yard, in Belfast: Mark of a sore on left cheek from bite of an ass, on which there is a scab, hard lump on forefinger of left hand from scutching, Dublin. DESCRIPTION of Mary M'Cabe, native of Barnaculla, who stands charged with having, on the 26th March, 1883, in the barony of Rathdown, parish of Kilgobbin, stolen £ 32 in notes, the property of her father, Peter M'Cabe, from his dwelling house, at Barnaculla:— Mole on left cheek, high mouth, gray eyes, cocked nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 20 years of age, brown hair; wore a white straw hat with red flower in front, gray serge dress, gray Ulster cloak, elastic side hoots nearly new, is a labourer. Warrant in the hands of the Constable at Stepaside. Dundrum, April 3, 1883. ( 57403 c.— 6631.) Galway. DUBLIN CASTLE, 9th June, 1882. WHEREAS at or about the hour of twenty minutes past three o'clock, P. M., on Thursday, the 8th June, instant, Walter M. Bourke, Esq., of Rahassane Park, Craughwell, in the county of Galway, and Corporal Wallace, of the Royal Dragoons, were shot dead on the roadclose to one of the gates of Castle Taylor Demesne, near Ardrahan, in the said county, by some person or persons at present unknown : His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of these Murders, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of TWO THOUSAND POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the conviction of the person or persons, or any of them, who committed the said Murders. And a further reward of ONE THOUSAND POUNDS for such private information as shall lead to the same result. His Excellency is also pleased to offer in addition to the above rewards a FREE PARDON and the Special Protection of the Crown in any part of Her Majesty's Dominions to any person concerned in, or privy to, the said Murders other than the person orpersons who actually committed the same, in case of his giving such information as shall lead to the con- viction of the persons, or any of them, concerned in the Murders aforesaid. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Finnerty, native of Clough, who standS charged with having, on tho 9th March, 1883, in the barony of Tiaquin, parish of Cloonkeen, while of unsound mind, attempted to assault his wife. HO left his home abcut the 15 th inst., was seen at Mountbellew, on the 18th inst., and'it is believed lie has met with some evil end. He had £ 30 in his pocket, and is much afraid of being poisoned:— Blue eyes, short pointed nose, fresli complexion, full broad face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 47 years of ugp, brown hair turning gray, sniall side whiskers, no moustache; wore a frieze Repeal coat, corduroy trowsers, and tweed vest; is a £ m'all farmer. The man, name and native place unknown ( serious assault on a policeman), not arrested ; Hue- and- Cry, 22nd December, 1882. John Kennedy ( robbery), not arrested ; Hue- and- Cry, SOth January, 1883. Kildare. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Sex, native of Rickards- town, who stands charged with having, on the 21st of March, 1883, in the barony of Eagt Offaly, parish of Ballysax, failed to appear at Petty Sessions in accordance with his recognizance to answer a charge of larceny;— Fair complexion, medium make, 5 feet 8 inchcs high, about 47 years of age, brown hair; ' wore an old jerry liat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a small farmer. Kildare, March 23, 1883. ( 57348 c.— 6536.) Myles Farrell ( assault), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 23rd March, 1883. Mathew Smith ( attempt to commit a rape), not arrested ; Hue- and- Cry, lOtli March, 1883. William Tegan ( attempt to commit a rape), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, IOth March, 1883. The man, name and native place unknown, doscribed in Hue- and- Cry of 13th March, 1883, ( intimidation), not arrested. Kilkenny. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Watson, native of Ballina- sloe, who stands charged with having, on the 17th day of March, 1883, in the borough of Kilkenny, parish of St. Canice, stolen an ass, cart, and harness, the proporty of John Nolan, of Ballyfoyle, out of a yard in Green- street, Kilkenny city. The ass, cart, and harness have been recovered at Tullow, county Carlow, where Watson pawned tho harness, sold the cart, and offerod tho ass for sale. ( See Hue- and- Cry, daterl 23rd March, 1883):— Tattooed anchor on back of right hand, has habit of shaking his head as if from constitutional causes, speaks hurriedly and in a grating voice, blue eyes, long nose, pale complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, about 55 years of ago, gray hair, and short gray whiskers ; wore a bard jerry hat, short blue torn coat, and brown tweed trowsers broken on knees ; is a drover. Kilkenny, March 29, 1883. ( 57345— C530.) Limerick. The four persons, names and native places un- known ( serious assault), not arrested; Hue- and- Crv, 20th February, 1883. Louth. The man, name unknown, supposed native of Drogheda, ( cattle stealing), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, -- mil March, 1883. Patrick Keey ( attempt to set fire to a house, and failing to take his trial when bailed to do so), not arrested ; Hue- and- Cry, 10th March, 1883. f Mayo. DESCRIPTION of James Ruddy, native of Doogort East, who stands charged with having, on the 5 th April, 1883, in the barony 9? Burrishoole, parish of Achill, seriously assaulted Patrick Grealish, thereby placing his life in danger:— Good- looking, smart active appearance, gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark coat, cord trowsers and vest; is a labourer. Newport, April 8, 1883. ( 56794 c.— 6418.) Edward Doocy and John M'Intyre ( serious assault), ' not arrested ; Hue- and- Cry, 20th March, 1883. Michael M'Namara ( suspected of being one of an armed party who committed a murder), not arrested; Hue- and- Ciy, 2nd March, 1883. Meath. i DESCRIPTION of James Little, native of Dollards- town, who stands charged with having, on the llth j April, 1883, in the barony of Skreen, parish of Tara, ' stolen £ 23, in- notes and gold, from his employer, Richard Wilkinson, of Castleboy :— Gray Or blue eyes, large nose, fresh complexion, fall Mt face, stout make, 5 faet 7 inches high, about ; 19^ kars,, of age; wore a brown hat, dark tweed coat, trow^ Jg, and vest. Margaret Walsh, described in Hue- and-^^ ® 16th March, 1883, not yet found. ^^^ Francis Kelly ( absconding wlieifon 1? afl to take his trial on a charge of attempt to commit a- rape), not arrested ; Hue- and- Cry, 6th March, 1883. Queen's. DESCRIPTION of six persons, charged on remand with having stolen property in their possession :— 1. Martin M'Donagh— States he is a native of Athlone, dark side whiskers, upper lip and chin shaved, dark complexion, round face, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 35 years of age; wears a blue sack coat, brown tweed trowsers and vest; is a tinker. 2. Cathrine M'Donagh— States she is a native of Athlone, gray eyes, regular nose, slightly freckled face, 4 feet 9 inches high, about 40 years of age, sandy? hair cut ighort, states she hfts been in the Mullingar Asylum for six months; wears a striped cotton dress, plaid shawl, and strong boots. 3. Margaret M'Donnell— Of Athlone, hazel eyes, slightly cocked nose, fresh complexion, stout make, 4 feet 2 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark brown hair; wears a blue dress and plaid shawl. 4. John Graham— States he is a native of Athlone, blue eyes, regular nose, sandy complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 38 years of age, light brown hair, sandy whiskers and moustache, chin shaved ; wears a blue pilot sack coat, black corduroy trowsers, and strong laced boots; is a tinker, and states he was in the army. 5. Mary Graham— Of Athlone, small blue eyes, regular nose, freckled face, 4 feet 6 inches high, brown hair, 40 years of age ; wears a striped petticoat and strong laced boots. 6. Margaret Ward— Brown eyes, slightly cocked nose, long face, stout make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 28 years of age, black hair ; wears a striped shawl, old brown petticoat, and elastic side boots. The following is a list of the articles supposed to have been stolen, which were found in their possession when arrested at Clonaslie on charge of larceny, viz. :— A mare ass, gray colour, heavy in foal, hair worn off breast, white spot on right side, no shoes on hind feet, about 7 years old, value for £ 1 10s.; a new set of ass's tackling, brass mountings, maker's name ( Madden) on the collar; an ass's cart, newly painted, body and insido painted red, outside blue, ends of shafts black ; a lever watch, No. 4450, maker's name A. Haswell, London, value for about £ i ; a suit of men's gray tweed clothes, new ; a gray frieze napped coat, new; a dark brown tweed trowsers; a pair of white woollen drawers; a brown round hard hat; a dark plaid shirt; a calico shirt; a green necktie; a black necktie; two pairs of white woollen socks ; a pair of gray woollen socks ; a pair of brown woollen socks ; a pair of cotton socks; two pairs of men's strong laced boots, with toecaps ; two pairs of women's strong laced boots ; a pair of new blankets ; a single blawket, new; two gray calico sheets ; a green quilt; a pair of child's small woollen socks ; a gray check apron ; a white calico apron ; a small chemise; a small black and white jacket; a small gray jacket; a Cashmere woollen shawl, red and white colour; a woman's dress, red colour, trimmed with velvet; a small flannel petticoat; a green plaid handkerchief; a green woollen scarf shawl ; a striped skirt; a blue petticoat; a gray dress, body braided; four yards of' grey calioo ; one- and- a- half yards of new lilac; one- and- a- half yards of furniture cotton; three- and- a- half Roscommon. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Doyle ( mother's sur- name Doyle); native of Cappalisheen, who stands charged with, having, on the 24th March, 1883, ill the baronyof Athlone, parish of KiltOom, stolen the sum of' 1' 6 from the dwelling- house of William Bades, Curnaseer, Athlone :— Dark eyes, slightly cocked nose, yellow complexion, long face, . slight make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 18 years of age ; wore a light tweed coat, much too large for him, and old cord trowsers ; is a labourer. ( 50755 c.— 0342.) • Patrick Dwyer, who lias been missing since the 29th of last January, and whose description appeared In the Hue- and- Cry of the 9th ultimo, has not yet been heard of. Sligo. Edward Scott ( assault endangering life), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, Oth April, 1883. William Gordon ( entering a dwelling- house, and committing an assault on the inmates), not arrested ; see Hue- and- Cry of 9th and 12th January, 1883. Nicholas Beglan ( same offence and on the same occasion as above), not arrested ; Hue- and- Cry, 9th January, 1883. Tipperary. DESCRIPTION of John Carthy and Michael Carthy, natives of Tipperary, who stand charged with having, on the" 18th April, 1883, in the barony of Middlethird, parish of Ballysheehon, seriously assaulted William Walsh and his wife, Bridget Walsh, in their dwelling- house :— 1. Mark of old cut on side of face, mark of fresh cut over right eye, cast in both eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, active make, 6 feet 1 inch high, about 44 years of age, fair hair; wore a soft hat, corduroy trowsers, and flannel vest; is an itinerant tinker. 2. Good- looking, wore all his beard which is sandy, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 28 years of age; is an itinerant tinker. Cashel, April 24, 1883. ( 59046 c.— 9108.) DESCRIPTION of Garrett Burns, native place near Cahir, Maurice Harding, native of Ballygorteen, and Garrett Cussen, native of Rossadrehid, who stand charged with having, on the 2nd March, 1883, in the barony of Iffa and Offa West, parish of Temple- tenny, been three of an armed party who attacked the house of Denis O'Brien, of Kiltankin:— 1. Gray or blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair, no whiskers; wore a low jerry hat, brown tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. 2. Blue eyes, Roman nose, fresh complexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 32 years of age, brown hair, sandy side whiskers, shaves the rest of his face; wore a low jerry bat, brown tweed coat, tweed trowsers and vest; is a farmer's son. 3. Walks with a swagger, dark eyes, rather cocked nose, dark complexion, round fat face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches higb, about 28 years of age, black hair, wears a black moustache, rather heavy ; wore a dark tweed suit; is a carpenter. Cahir, March 28, 1883. ( 55829 c.— 8804.) Daniel Leahy ( robbery), not arrested ; Hue- and- Cry, 2nd March, 1883. Patrick Naughton ( cattle stealing), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 23rd January, 1883. John Ryan ( waylay and assault), not at rested; Hue- and- Cry, 9tli January, 1883. Tyrone. DESCRIPTION of Charles M'Dermott native of Strabane, who stands charged with having, on the 10th April, 1883, in the barony of Upper Strabane, parish of Upper Badoney, obtained a heifer by false pretences, and afterwards selling same in the fair ol Plumbridge, and absconding with the amount :— Three warts under right ear adjoining cheek bone, the result of evil, shuffling swaggering gait when walking ; large wild gray eyes, regular nose, pale yellow com- plexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 30 or 33 years of age, dark hair, shaves all his face; wore a milky white hat, brown coat, trowsers, and vest, greasy looking and shabby; is a low cif^ o dealer. A Warrant in the bands of the Constabu- lary of this district for his arrest ; the Constabulary should not arrest this offender without the Warrant. DESCRIPTION' of Bella Hamilton, native of Donemanagh, who stands charged with having, on tho 28th day of March, 1883, in the barony of Lower Strabane, parish of Leckpatrick, committed infanticide:— Light blue eyes, sharp nose, fresh complexion, thin face, very stout make, 5 feet inches high, about Q2 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a gray shawl; is a sen- ant. Strabane, April 6, 1883. ( 58013c.— 4964.) Westmeath. DUBLIN CASTLE, 27th November, 1882. DESCRIPTION of a man, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 2nd April, 1883, inthe barony of Kilkenny West, parish of Drumraney, stolen from the dwelling- house of John Hughes, of Corr, the following articles, viz., a brown frieze coat, a gray tweed vest, a soft round black hat, a white double blanket, a pair of white woollen socks, a gray and white woollen hand- kerchief, and woman's black cloth cape; value about £ 1 15j. :— Dark side whiskers, lip and chin shaved, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 30 or 35 years of age, dark hair; wore a hard round black hat, dark coat, and white cord trowsers, and carries a white bag ; is a tramping vagrant.
