WANTED here a man charged with having, on the loth March last, obtained on hire a horse and dog- cart from a firm of horse- hirers in Perth, on the false representation that he was a servant to a Captain J. S. Burton, of the Royal Engineers. He drove direct to Auchterarder, and presenting a letter to one of the hotel keepers there, purporting to be from Captain Burton, and addressed from the Balmoral Hotel, Edin- burgh, ho was put up for the night. On the following morning he drove south, and it has now been ascer- tained that he travelled by Stirling and Linlithgow. Description of Accused— A man apparently between 30 and 35 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches or thereby in height, brown hair, fresh complexion, very small fair whisker and moustache, clean shaved on chin, speaks with a strong Scotch accent; has the appearance of a soldier, and was dressed in a 42nd Regimental great coat and Glengarry bonnet. Description of Horse and Dog- Cart— A light brown nine- year- old horso, 16 hands high, two white fetlocks, a littlo flat on near side, having once two ribs broken; wore sot of silver- mounted harness, nearly new. A Four- wheeled small- sized dog- cart, almost new, blue painted with white lines; top of dash- board silver- plated ; motto, " Follow me " engraved on back, and bluo fittings, light weight; wheel caps. stamped— sup- posed " Peddie, Kilmarnock;" also an ordinary carriage- whip, horse- rug, and two waterproof aprons. The Police are requested to make particular search and inquiry for the person describod above, also for the horso and dog- cart; and, if found, to detain and communicate with the subscriber. Cavendish and Mr. Burke, the Chief and Under Secretaries for Ireland, in the Phoenix Park, on Saturday, 6th May, 1882, between 7 and 8 P. M. : 1. About 35 years old, stout make, dark complexion, hair, whiskers, and moustache recently clipped, so as' to give a bristling appearance, narrow forehead, natural hollow or dinge on bridge of nose; wore a soft black jerry hat and dark clothes. 2. About 30 years, sandy hair, whiskers, and moustache; brown faded coa't, as if much exposed to sun, soft black jerry hat. 3. About 20 ^ eargj small dark moustache, no whiskers; soft black hat amTdnrfceWbis*-. 4. About 30 yea> s, sandy hair and moustache, beard on chin ; wore dark clothes and soft black hat. The height cannot be given of any, all being sitting on an outside car, driven by a man between 35 and 40 years, red bloated face, with a few days' growth of beard on; dark or brown coat, supposed frieze, and low soft black hat. The horse was a bay or chestnut, of good action, and the car had either a dark greener a red panel. The men had the appearance of sailors or well- to- do artisans.— JOHN MALLON, Superintendent. This convict was discharged from Mountioy Prison on licence, 20th November, 1882, and went to Dublin. She left her residence, 91, Coombe, without notifying same to the Metropolitan Police, and her present whereabouts are unknown. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Finnerty, native of Clough, who stands charged with having, on the 9th March, 1883, in the barony of Tiaquin, parish of Cloonkeen, while of unsound mind, attempted to assault his wife. He left his home about the 15th inst., was seen at Mountbellew, on the 18th inst., and it is believed he has met with some evil end.
