A PROCLAMATION By the Lord Lieutenant- General and General Governor of Ireland. SPENCER. WHEREAS l> y our Proclamation, dated the 9tl. May, 1882, We offered a reward of Ten Thousand Pounds to any person or persons who should, within a limited time therein specified, give such information as would lead to tho conviction of the MurderersLord Frederick Cavendish, the Chief Secretary, and Thomas Henry Burke, Esquire, the Under Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, in the Phoenix Park, ^ on the 6th, May, 1882: ereas the time therein -^ ocified for giving mation has expired : Now Wo, the Lord Lieutcnant- General and • General Governor of Ireland, arc pleased to renew/ the said offer, and We do hereby offer a reward of TEN THOUSAND POUNDS STERLING to any person or persons who, within six months tfrrnn the date hereof, shall give such information as will lead to the conviction of any of the Murderers : And a further reward of FIVE THOUSAND POUNDS for such private information as shall, within the same period, lead to the samo result: AND whereas it is known that four perpetrators of these Murders escaped from the scene on an ou^ sido car which was driven away by a fifth person : Now We are also pleased hereby to offer to any person concerned in or privy to these Murders ( not being one of the above- mentioned four Murderers) • who shall, within three months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lend to the conviction of any one of the said four Murderers, a FREE PARDON and the special protection of the Crown in any part of Her Majesty's Dominions, in addition to a reward of FIVE THOUSAND POUNDS. Given at Dublin Castle, this 10th day of November, 1882. DESCRIPTION of the four men, wanted for the murder of Lord F. Cavendish and Mr. Burke, the Chief and Under Secretaries for Ireland, in the Phoenix Park, on Saturday, Otli May, 1882, between 7 and 8 P. M.: 1. About 35 years old, stout make, dark complexion, hair, whiskers, and moustache recently clipped, so as to give a bristling appearance, narrow forehead, natural hollow or dinge on bridge of nose ; wore a soft - black jerry hat nnd dark clothes. • 2. About 30 years; sandy hair, whiskers, and moustache'', brown faded coat, as if much exposed to sun, soft black jerry hat. 3. About ilO years, small dark mdustache, no whiskers ; soft black hat and dark clothes. 4 - ft 30 years, ^ mdy hair and moustache, beard The height catmot be given of any, all being sitting on an outside aur driven by a man between 35 and 40 years, red bloated face, with a few days' growth of beard on ; dark or brown coat, supposed frieze, and low soft black hat. The horse was a bay or chestnut, of good action, and the car had either a dark green or a red panel. The men had the appearance of sailors or well- to- do artisans.— JOHN MALLOn, Superintendent. A PROCLAMATION. By the Lord Lieutenant- General and General Governor of Ireland. SPENCER. WHEREAS Mr. Denis J. Field, of Westmoreland street, in this city, was, on the evening of the 27th November instant, about six o'clock, at North Frederick street, in this city, feloniously and malici- ously stabbed and wounded by some person or persons, who immediately afterwards got on an out- side car which was waiting in Hardwicke- street, and drove off rapidly through Hardwicke- place : Now, We, John Poyntz, Earl Spencer, Lord Lieutenant- General aud General- Governor of Ire- land, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the offenders and their accomplices, hereby offer a reward of FIVE THOUSAND POUNDS to any person or persons who, within thiiee months from the date hereof, shall give such information,, as will lead to the conviction of the said offenders' or their accomplices, or any of them. And a further reward of FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS for such private information as shall, within the said period, lead to the same result. PARTICULARS relative to convict William Stewart, 14551, convicted in Galway, county Galway, at Quarter Sessions, on 12t, h October, 1876, for larceny and previous conviction, and sentenced to seven years' penal servitude:— 38 years of age on con- viction, can read and write, belongs to- the Church of Ireland, married, has four children, is a shoe- maker, born in Clones, county Monaghan, resided before conviction in Meath- street, Dublin, where his friends reside; dark hair, dark- brown eyes, light- brown eyebrows, large nose, regular mouth, sallow complexion, oval visage, stout make, 5 feet 7^ inches high ; boil mark back of neck, kick mark on right shin, marks on left leg. This convict was liberated from Mountjoy Prison on licence, 12th April, 1882, and went to Dublin, and subsequently to Belfast. He left his residence in Belfast without notifying to the Police, and his present whereabouts are unknown. In tbe event of his arrest he should be dealt with under the 5th section of the Act, 34 < fc 35 Vic., cap. 112. General Prisons Board, ) Convict Anne Hart, 2390, described in last Hue- and- Cry is at present in custody in Giangegorman Prison. Convict John Desmond, 14,776 ( not reporting himself), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry„ 17th Novem- i ber, 1882. ) ROYAL IRISH CONSTABULARY. Antrim. DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender who. on the 11th December, 1882, absconded from the Malone Reformatory School, at Belfast: — Arthur Hull, 16 years of age, fair hair, blue eyes, heavy eyebrows, regular nose, fresh complexion, oral visage, slight make, 5 feet 5 inches high, born at Ballymacarrett, Belfast, formerly belonged to same place; parents reside at Barrow- on- Furness ; large burn mark on ball of left leg, large burn mark on inside of same leg; large ears. Dress worn by juvenile when he absconded :— Light brown tweed jacket, trowsers, and vest, blue cloth Glengarry cap, blue striped shirt, red and black check tie, nailed blucher boots, and woollen stockings. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expense of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. SUBSCRIPTION of Margaret Reilly ( mother's surname Keenan), native of Corleckduff, who stands charged with having, on the 18th December, 1882, fn the barony of Clonkee, parish of Drumgoon, deserted her infant male child, aged about two months, thereby placing its life in danger, and for whose arrest a warrant has been issued :— Good- looking, long thin nose, fresh complexion, long face, stout make. 4 feet 10 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a red shawl with green mixture through it, drab- col « ured dress, black stuff quilted petticoat, atid^ elastic side boots ; is a farmer's daughter. Dublin. DESCRIPTION of William Ward, native of Dublin City ( particular street not known, supposed Church- street), who stands charged with having, o% the 20th December, 1882, in the barony of. Castleknock, parish of Finglas, stolen six sheep ( hoggets and lambs) off tho lands of Finglas West, the property of Luke Duffy, and sold same to Richard Dawson, butcher, 44, Amiens- street, Dublin, for £ 10 :—- Brown eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 45 years of- age, black hair; wore a jerry hat, brown over- coat, dark tweed trowsers, and dark vest; is a herd. Benjamin Hawtrey ( stealing), described in Hue- and- Cry of 13th October, 1882, has not been arrested. Galway. DUBLIN CASTLE, 9th June, 1882. WHEREAS at or about the hour of twenty minutes past three o'clock, P. M., OH Thursday, the 8th June, instant, Walter M. Bourke, Esq., of Rahassane Park, Craughwell, in the county of Galway, and Corporal Wallace, of the Royal Dragoons, were shot dead on tho road close to one of the gates of Castle Taylor Demesne, persons at present unknown s His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of these Murders, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of TWO THOUSAND POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months lrom the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the conviction of the person or persons, or any of them, who committed the said Murders. And a further reward of ONE THOUSAND POUNDS for such private information as shall lead to the same result. His Excellency is also pleased to offer in addition to the above rewards a FREE PARDON and the Special Protection of the Crown in any part of Her Majesty's Dominions to any person concerned in, or privy to, the said Murders other than the person orpersons who actually committed the same, in case of his giving such information as shall lead to the con- viction of the persons, or any of them, concerned in the Murders aforesaid. DESCRIPTION of John Kennedy, natiVe of Kilkenny, who stands charged with paving, oAe 15th Decem- ber, 1888, in the barony of Trughenackmy, parish- of. Kilcoleman, stolen the sum of £ X sterling ( twenty- one of which has been recovered the property - of Cornelius Murphy, of Milltown; in whose house he lodged. The remainder which may be in bis possession are three single notes, bank and numbers unknown:— Large gray " eyes, very cocked small nose, fresh complexion, round face, very stout make, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, about 28 years of age, dark hair; wore a round hard hat, black cloth coat, much faded and torn under armpits; corduroy trowsers, jagged at bottoms; and dark tweed vest. Will endeavour to emigrate to Liverpool. Warrant in the hands of tho Sub- Inspector at Killorglin. Killorglin, Dec. 17,1882. ( 55436 c.— 7984.) Kildare. John Nolan, of 23, St. Andrew- street, whose description first appeared in the Hue- of 22nd September 1882, has not returned home. John Cross ( arson), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry., 1st September, 1882. King's. Peter Clarke ( young offender), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 13th October, 1882. Leitrim. The two persons, names and native places un- known ( robbery of arms), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 3rd November, 1882. Limerick. DESCRIPTION of James Watson, no fixed residence, who stands charged with having failed and neglected to attend at Cork Winter Assizes, he being an im- portant witness in a larceny case, and bound by recognizance to prosecute :— Very deaf, large lips, gray eyes, regular nose, florid complexion, regular rough face, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 65 years of age, gray hair; wore a jerry hat, old brown frock coat, and corduroy trowsers. Friends reside near Macroom, county Cork. The Constabulary at Newcastle, county Limerick, hold awarrant for this man's arrest. Should he bo discovered, communication should be made at once to the Sub- Inspector at Newcastle; but the abscond- ing witness should not be arrested till warrant is received, as arrest without warrant cannot legally be made in this case. Charles Reid ( described in Hue- and- Cry of 21st November, 1882) native of Wallace- row, Yellowbatter, who, on the 5th November, 1882, left liis home, has been found drowned. Patrick Burke ( robbery of boots), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 31st October, 1882. Mayo. DESCRIPTION of James Heskin ( mother's surname Donnellan), native of Creevagh ( Neale), who stands charged with having, on the 18th December, 1882, in the barony of Kilmaine, parish of Ballinrobe, assaulted Patt Feerick, of Creevagh, by striking him on the head with a stone, and inflicting a wound endangering his life :— Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 23 years of age; wore a gray frieze frock coat, corduroy trowsers, and tweed vest; is a farmer's son. DJCSCBU'TION of a jennet and set of harness, the property of Mathew Reid, of Philpotstown, which were stolen out of his stable at Philpotstown, parish of Dowdstown. barony of Skreen, on the night of 7th or morning of Nth inst.:— A small dark brown mare j en net, newly shod, liog mane, white spots or rings round fore and hind off legs, caused by a tether, in good condition, about 15 years old ; value for about £ 5. A set of jennet's cart harness, half worn, and newly lined ; vuluo for £ 1 10*. Description of a donkey's cart, the property of Thomas M'Grane, of Ross, which was s'tolen from before his door on the road side at Ross, parish of Skreen,' barony of Skreen, on the night of 7tli fir morning of 8th instant:— A donkey's cart, nearly new, body painted blue, and wheels red, the words " Thomas M'Grane, Ross," painted on board, and nailed on right shaft, augur holes bored on tl> e four corners of sheeting, a peculiar " S " lipok attached to left end of back band, side boards about ( I inches high; value for about £ 3. It is believed all tho above were stolen by the same parties, who are supposed to be travelling tinkers, and may have. gonte in the direction of Dublin or Drogheda. Navan, January 9, 1883. Navan, parish of Navan, a gold watch in his possession, knowing it to have been. stolen: Large gray eyes, regular n< round face, large mouth, inches high, about 22 wore a djui. tweed c » j Monaghan. [ PTIOK of Mary Byrne, native of Drogheda, ids charged with having, Dn the 26th 1882, in the barony of Farney, parish of " townland of Lisnashanagh, stolen from • house of Laurence Curtis, the following ale wearing apparel, viz.:— One shawl, black stripes and square black centre ; aced boots, with yellow Sprigs ( nearly pecker apron, and one pair of worsted alue for about fcl:— Stooped shoulders, litted, wants both eye- teeth. Very small ick nose, fair complexion, round face, stoutamKejT feet 3 inches high, about 4o years of age, light blown hair; wore a brown skirt, with three jounces, a dark gray shawl about her head, and a plaid one under it, and a black jacket under both, and new| elastic boots; is a tramp beggarwoman. This woman generally lodged in a country house. Carrickmacross, Dec. 28, 1883. ( 5G180 c.— 4231.) . Sligo. DESCRIPTION of William Gordon ( mother's surname Rouse), native of Ballyogan, who stands charged with having, on the night of 20th morning of 21 si December, in. tjie barony of Tireragh, parish of Kilglass, broken into a dwelling- house, and assaulted three inmates.
