INFORMATIONS. ROBBERY AND LARCENY" FROM THE PERSON. Wanted at Carlisle, for assault and robbery committed on 13th instant:— JOSEPH TROTTER, lately a game- keeper, 30 to 35 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, light brown or auburn hair, red whiskers all round, 110 moustache, light grey staring eyes, ordinary build, smart appearance ; dressed in dark suit, billycock hat, blue necktie with white spots, heavy lace boots, is a native of Dumfrieshire, and speaks with a broad Scotcli accent. The articles stolen have been recovered, with the exception of a dark leather purse contain- ing £ 5 in Gold, and a few shillings in Silver. Information to the Chief Constable, City Police Office, Carlisle, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bcno- street, Novtmber 17. BURGLARY A1B HOUSE BREAKING. The house of Chas. Derrick, of Bradford Leigh, was burglariously entered during the night of the 13th instant, and the following articles stolen, viz. ;— 2 black rib cloth Over- coats ; a dark ribbed Jacket, has been torn on the shoulder ; 2 nearly new alpacca Umbrellas ; a pinchbeck Watch, without glass, aud loDg hand broken ; a large size black and white plaid Shawl, with fringe ; several pairs of black silk and other • Stockings ; a Japan Limp ; four 2 lb. Loaves ; several paper bags of Flour, bags marked * E. H. Giddings ;' small quan- tities of Suet, Beef, Mutton aud Cheese, aud 2 flag Baskets with ropes on the hardies. Supposed by tramps. Stolen between 11 pm. 13th, and 7 a. m.' 14th instant, from the house of Mr. Harding, Rooks wood, Redhill:— a small leather Purse, containing 12 Stamps, the purse was sort of obloug shape, with gilt metal all round it, and snaps that preised iuwards. Information to Mr. Supt. George Rigors, Redhill.— Bow- street, Novembtr 15. Stolen at Aston, on 12th instant:— a lady's silver Geneva Watch, No. 50061, ' Ai. A. The man advertised in the Police Gazette of 18th ultimo and subsequent dates, wanted for housebreaking at Old Sed- bury, on 13th ultimo, has been apprehended, aud the whole of the stolen property recovered. HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING Charged with stealing three Heifers:— a man, tall, slender build, pale thin face; dressed in long bine jacket or slop, such aa butchers wear, and black felt hat. He was seen driving the stolen heifers ( since recovered), on the Huntingdon Road, in the direction of Chester, at 7 a. m., on 24th ult. Also seen to get into a train for Manchester, at Chester Central Railway Station, on 27th ult. Information to Mr. Supt. Plant, Constabulary Station, Broxton, Cheshire.— Bow- street, November 17. Charged with stealing a Heifer ( recovered), at Ilkeston, on 4th instant:— WILLIAM alias THOV1AS BENNETT, 28 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, medium build, dark complexion, dark eyes, black hair, whiskers, aud moustache ; was dressed in a brown overcoat, with velvet collar, grey coat underneath, brown spotted or figured vest, brown cord trousers, all in good condition, hard black felt hat, lace- up boots, generally wears a red neckerchief, which he passes under his braces, and ties on his chest; he is a labourer, and a native of Long Bennington, Lincolnshire. Information to Mr. Snpt. Hancock, Langley Mill, Nottingham.— Bow- street, November 17. Stolen from Eppisg, on morning of 12th inst, :— a red roan Colt, rising three years, not shod or worked. Also a brown nag Mare, rising 5 years old, 15 hands 3 inches high, star on forehead, long arched neck, well made, three white feet, shod under on hind feet, no nails on inside of hind shoes. Stolen at Cholmondely, between 23rd ultimo and 4tli instant. :— aj Heifer, light colour, light strawberry neck, and abort horns, coming 2 years old. Information to Supt. Plant, Constabulary Station, Broxton.— Bow- s'. reet, November 17. Description of FREDERICK WIT BY MAN, alias CHARLES DAY, native of West. Chinnock, who is wanted at Poole, for stealing a Horse and Trap, on 3rd instant ( since recovered at Blandford) :— 19 or 20 years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches high, full face, no whiskers or moustache, fresh com- plexion ; diessed in serge jacket such as worn by yachtsmen, pilot cloth trousers, bowler hat; carrying a dark coat, and a black leather bag. Information to Chief Constable Stephen Hunt, Poole, Dorset, who holds a warrant for his apprehen- sion.— lo' - street, November 15. Stolen from the Godalming Meadows, about the 21st ultimo :— a chestnut Pony. 6 years old, 14 hands high, ' J. M.' marked on fore hoof. £ 1 reward will be given for the recovery of the pony, and conviction of the thief. Stolen on night of 10th instant, from a field near Rom- ford, Eau- x. :— a black cart Mare, aged, 13 hands high, small star on forehead, hair chaffed oft" near shoulder, value £ 8, fresh shod. Information to Mr. Supt. Dobson, Brentwood, or to Insj ejtor Simmons, Romford, Essex.— Bow- st., Ncv. 15. Absconded from Llanfyllii), about the 5tli instant, charged under the Bailee Act with stealing a Mare :— RICHARD LEWIS, alias DICK THE TINMAN, a horsebreaker, about 31 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches high, sandy hair, cut very short, small whiskers, grey eyes, walks erect ; dressed in a black cloth jacket, sometimes long great coat, white cotton cord breeches aud leggings, he is well known at Wolverhamp- ton, aud other Markets, and is likely to lie found with some low liorsedealer, he was seen at- Chester Fair on 9th instant. Snpposed stolen from a field in Chapman- street, Gorton, between 7th and 8th instant.:—- a bay Mare, about 1G hands high, short tail, rrnd wound on near hind leg. Supposed stolen on the night of 19th ultimo, from Tam- Worth :— a light bay Hcise, 4 years old, with four black legs, tail cut short, 15 hands 2 or 3 inches high, strong made, and goes rather wide behind, has a twitching with his tail when moving. £ 9 reward will be paid on the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders, ( if strayed all reason- able expenses will be paid). Description of FREDERICK FOSTER alias JARYEY, late of North Weald Hassett, Essex, labourer, charged on war- rant with stealing a Load of Hay, on 17th August last :— he is about 24 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches higb, dark hair, and slight dark moustache, no whiskers, dark complexion, accompanied by a girl, name of Alice Dockerell, about 19 yrs. of age, tall and s, tout. Information to Superintendent Lennon, Constabulary Office, Epping, Essex, who holds a warrant for liis apprehenaion.— Bow- street, November 17. Description of a man ( several aliases), charged with stealing between 9th and 16th ultimo, a valuable Seal ( recovered) :— 30 years of age, 5 feet ti inches high, slight build, fair complexion, dark hair and eyes, brown moustache and whiskers ( slight), chin shaved ; dressed in dark coat and vest, grey trousers, black felt hat, of gentlemanly appearauce, au organist ; in in the habit of calling on organists and other members of the musical profession, i © presenting himself to be the son or nephew of some well known organist or orgau builder, that tie is at the present time organist of either Liverpool or Montreal, Canada, and duiing the temporary absence of the person he calls upon, abstracts whatever valuable articles may be near, aud under the pretence of having lost his puree, obtains an advat. ee of mouey; he further states he lias had a letter of introduction from some well known perRou in the musical world, but has unfortunately lost it. Absconded from Boston, on 14th instant, charged on warrant with stealing £ 10 and some Account Books :— FREDERICK JOHN BREWSTER, a lawyer's clerk, about 35 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stout and broad set, full fair features, aud pleasant looking, month rather large and lips thick, brown hair, cut short, and had a moustache when he left, but no whiskers ; dressed in dark grey cloth clothes, generally wearing a, loose coat, aud hard black felt hat very backward on his head. He has a swinging walk and carries his head up; is fond of gambling. Information to Head Constable Bellamy, Boston, Lincolnshire.— Bow- sires', Nov. 1 i Absconded from Wigton, on 14th instant, charged on a warrant with stealing £. i0 in Gold :— JOSEPH PYLE or PILE, about 22 years of age, 6 feet high, stout and bony made, fresh complexion, no whiskers or moustache, native of Greenside, near Newcastle, where his father is postmaster; he speaks the Northumberland dialect, and is respectably dressed ; he is a joiner, but has been working as a navvy. And JOSEPH DAVIDSON, about 23 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fair complexion, light hair, thin light whiskers and moustache, two or three front teeth wanted ; he is also a native of Greeaside, near Newcastle, has shaved his whiskers off, and speaks the Northumberland dialect; he is a stone mason or waller, but has been working as a navvy ; respect- ably dressed. Information to Mr. Smpt. Robinson, Wigton, or at the office of the county Chief Constable, Carlisle.— Bow- street, Nov. 17. Description of JOHN WATKIN, a clerk, charged on a warrant with embezzling £ 1 12s. 7d. :— 27 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, shaves chin, slight sandy whiskers and moustache, walks erect and swings one of his arms very much when walking ; he is a native of Wem, Salop, where his father carries on ilia trade of a wheelwright. Charged with embezzlement at Lanehester on 8th inst • — W1 LLf AM DUNN WARDLE, late of Conisay Colliery near Durham, grocer's assistant, 24 years of age, 5 feet 8 ins." high, fair complexion, grey eyes, large scar over left eye of a blue colour from a cut, brown hair, very curly, parted down centre, slight, whiskers and moustache, proportionate figure ; dressed in black cloth coat aud vest, dark grey striped trousers, rough reefing top (- oat, bard felt hat, and fancy laced boots. Infor- mation to Superintendent Oliver, Police Station, Consett, County of Durham.— Bow- street, November 17. Absconded, charged OH a warrant with stealing two Pheasants, at Caerphilly, on 25th September, 1882 :— jOHJST DENNING, a labourer, 23 yens of age, ti feet high, ffesti complexion, round face, light brown liair, thin moustache ; dressed in old blue serge moukey jaclel,, moleskin vest, and white slop over, old plaid dark trousers, red scarf, black soft bowler hat, a gioy new English flannel shirt, and heavy nailed boots ; lie swings his arms, aud turns out bis feet when walking, stoops ; is very fond of drink and dissipated com- pany ; he carried a frail, containing a pair of moleskin trousers. Stolen between 11 and 12 a. m. on 11th instant, fromCae Valley House, Festiniog a pair of Water Tights, size 8, nearly new, with sparables in the soles, and steel tips, black eyelet- holes, four or live hooks on top, one hook missing on the left side of the left shoe. Supposed stolen by tramps :— ( 1) about 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, dark com plexion, whiskers about 3 weeks growth ; dressed in a lorg blue faded coat, grey tweed faded trousers, low crown felt, hat; ( 2) about 22 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, lender build, no whiskers or moustache, fair complexion, light brown hair ; dressed in dark clot. hes, and a cloth cap, all much worn; ( 3) about 22 or 23 years of age, 5 feet G or 7 inches high, fair complexion ; dressed in a dark faded coat, moleskin trousers, cloth cap, and old elastic boots. Wanted for stealing an old silver Watch, yellow face, oose case, makers name and number not known, from the person at Lymes Farm, near Newcastle- under- Lyme :— BARNEY FORD, 28 years of age, collier, 5 feet. 8$ ins. high, browd hair, grey eyes, dark complexion, face marked with small pox ; dressed in light coloured trousers, dark grey coat, pockets on hips, dark cap with peak. Information to Mr. Supt. Bowen, Stoke- ou- Trent, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, November 15. Wantod at Malvern, charged with sf e'di. ng a brown melton cloth Overcoat, from a bakehouse a. t Welland, on the 13th instant :— a man, about 25 or 20 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, black hair, side whiskers and moustache : dressed in a yellowish colour jacket, cord trousers, soft hat, seams up the side*, stroDg nailed boots, and patent leather leggings ; it is supposed he is wearing the stolen coat ; he has been employed about the premises aboUt 3 weeks, so that his clothes would have flour on them ; he is a labourer. In- formation to Mr. Supt. Turner, Upton- on- Severn, or to Sergeant C. Dtury, Malvern, Worcestershire.— Bow- street, November 15. Description of WILLIAM JAMES, cattle dealer, of Pontypool, wanted on a warrant for stealing ,£ 100, at Ponty- pool, on 20th ultimo :— He is about 45 or 47 years of 5 feet 6 cr 7 inches high, frash complexion, dark sandy hair, turning grey, shaves clean with the exception of a small imperial, very much sun- freckled on back of hands. He was seen at the Lord Raglan Inn, Newport, on 2lst ultimo, and was then dressed in a dark tweed suit, hard black hat ( rather small), and lace- up nailed boots. Is fond of drink and the company of low women. May endeavour to emigrate. If found, arrest, and wire to Mr. Supt. Whitfield, Pontypool, Mon., who holds the warrant.— Bow- street, November 15, Charged on warrant with stealing— a, black cloth Jacket, trimmed with fur; a Chemise ; a flannel Petticaat, fastens with a button behind ; two pairs striped St- jckings ; three Pocket- handkerchiefs, two white, and one with red border ; two woollen Wrappers, one white, one black :— ANNIE WESTON, P8 years of age, 5 feet high, fair complexion, long features, medium build ; dressed when she absconded in stolen jacket, which is too large for her, black dress, with narrow flounce, side spring boots, black straw hat, trimmed with black ribbon and feather ; will be found in a brothel or low lodging- houae, in the compauy of soldiers or sailors. In- formation to Mr. Supt. Denman, West Sussex Constabulary, Steyning, or to Sergeant Cooper, Police Station, Shoreham.— Bow- street, Novmber 15. Absconded from Ipswich on 11th instant, charged on warrant with stealing £ 60 in Money : — HARRY A. DARBY, 19 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, fair com- plexion, no whiskers or moustache, few faint hairs on upper lip, dark brown hair rather inclined to curl, slightly bow- Iegged, turns his toes inwards when walking, weight about 9 stone, ha3 a peculiar cast in one eye, which is noticeable when looking at any object; supposed dressed in dark coat and vest, and brown speckled soft felt hat. It is believed that he will endeavour to leave this country. Photograph can be had if required. May be in company of a girl about 17 years of age. Information to Lieut.- Col. H. R. Russell, Chief Constable, Town Hall, Ipswich, Suffolk, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, November 15. Stolen from a clothes line in Farn worth:— a man's Shirt ( recovered), having been found pledged the s? me day at a pawnshop there, by a woman, about 30 years of age, rather tall, thin face, and had an old grey shawl over her head. No better description can be given. Information to Mr. Supt. Holland, County Police Office, Bolton.— Bow- street, Nov. 13. Wanted for stealing Is. and an Umbrella, from 57, Ger- rard Street. Widnes, on 8th instant:— a man, 45 years of age 5 feet 5 inches high, fresh complexion, grey hair, whiskers and moustache ; dressed in a black and white plaided coat and vest, black summer overcoat, fine material, much worn, black soft felt hat,| low derby tie boots, with a tear to the inside of the right boot, dark tweed trousers, ring on each hand, and of shabby genteel appearance. This man took lodgings at the above address, representing that he was an inspector on the L. & N. W. Railway Company, and was removing to the town, after having breakfast aud dinner, for which he did not pay, he absconded. Information to Mr. 8upt. Barker, Police Office, Pressot, Lancashire.— Bow- street, November 13. Description of WILLIAM WARNER, painter and bird stuffer, who absconded from Chobham, on 5th instant, chareed on a warrant with stealing four Geese, recovered :— 27 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, slight build, pale face, dark hair, thin whiskers and moustache, tattoo marks on arms, two rings on fingers, and anchor on back of left hand ; dressed in old dark guernsey, no coat, old dark cloth trousers, hard felt hat; is ki. own at Kingston- on- Thames, has worked at Penge and Tunbridge Wells ; he may collect marine stores; is a poacher. Information to Mr. Supt. Bungard, Surrey Consta- bulary, Chertsey, who holds a warrant for his apprehension. — Eow- street, November 13. Absconded on 10th instant, from Egham, charged with stealing two chimney- sweeping Machine Heads, with brass caps, fourteen rods, about 4 feet 7 inches leng; one hand Brush ; an iron Shovel ; and a Sack ; the property of George Rowles, for whom he worked a few days :— a man about 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, sandy hair, whiskers, and moustache, a little hair under bottom lip, stout build ; dressed as chimney sweeper; was traced to Colnbrook, Bucks. O Stolen on the 4th instant, from the dwelling- house of Mrs. Catherine 11. iDglis, Warrior- square, Southend:— a small black ebony Opera- glass, value £ 3, makers ' Yeates and Son, Dublin.' By a man, who stated that he was LIEUT.
