Wanted on a charge of manslaughter— a man, about 25 years of age, about- 5 feet 5 inches high, sallow complexion, dark brown hair, no whiskers or moustache, two dimples in right cheek bone ( one about J of an inch, the other about I of an inch in diameter), which draw his eyelid a little down ; dressed iu an old dark cloth coat, old blue cloth trousers, cloth cap, an- d a pair of old shoes. He frequents low beer- houses aud lodging- houses, where- lie plays a tin whistle ; he absconded about a month ago, and is tramping from town to town. On the morniug of 28th ultimo, the dead by of a newly- born fuli grown female child was found in the Gill Cemetery. Bishopwearmoutb, Sunderland, wrapped in a piece of brown paper, a piece of woman's plain calico nightdress, two pieces of cotton print sewed together, apparently torn off a counter- pane, one piece dark lilac, and the other blue with diagonal stripes, has shades of white across one way, aud a bunch of brown leaves across the other way, and tied with a piece of small twine. A coronor's inquest was held, aud a verdict of Wilful murder against some person or persons unknown ' returned. Description of WILLIAM GOODWIN ( address re- fused), who is committed for trial to the Central Criminal Court Sessions, 16th proximo, for burglary and threatening to shoot:— 40 years of age, 5 feet 3i inches high, dark com- plexion, hazel eyes, dark slight moustache, no whiskers, scar on right temple, mole on right blade bone between shoulders and lias nervous twitchiug of the eyes when speaking; dressed in black diagonal coat, blue pilot vest, dark tweed trousers, side- spring boots, white calico shirt, cotton under shirt and drawers, white collar, Kue tie, aud bard felt hat. Absconded, charged with uttering an American Banker's Draft with forged endorsement, with intent to defraud :— ELIOT RYDER, about 40 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, slight build, sallow complexion, hair, moustache, wniskers ( slight) and eyes, dark ; dressed in black twill frock coat, and ( generally) dark turban hat. Wanted at Ledbury, charged with forgery :— CHAS, EDWARD AtTDLEY LLOYD ( late Surveyor to the Led bury Highway Board), about 50 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, light brown bair, whiskers and moustache, inclined to curl, fresh complexion, Bmart,, genteel appearance ; generally weariug a light suit of tweed, and black band on arm. Stolen from the person of a little girl, at Eccles, at 7.30 p. m., 23rd instant:— a Shilling in Money. By a woman, about 30 years of age, thin figure; dressed in a dark dress, black and white shawl, dark bat with a red flower ; no better description can be Riven. Information to County Police Office, Old Trafford, Manchester.— Bow- street, September 29. Stolen from the person of a boy at Patricroft, about 6 p. m., 23rd instant :— 2s. in Silver. Also Stolen from the person of a boy at Patricroft, about 8 p. m., 23rd instant :•— 2s. 8d. in Money. Also x Stolen, about 7 p. m., at Patricroft, from the person of a girl :— a black cloth licfy's Jacket, with fringe round the bottom of pockets ; a brown Dress, kilted at the bottom ; a pair of lady's lace- up Boots, with tips on the heels. Also Stolen from the person, at Patricroft Bridge, abcut 8 30 pirn.; 23rd instant :— a Bass, containing three white Sheets, a white Dress, and a Tablecloth. All the above mtntioned articles, & c., are supposed to have been stolen by the same person :— a woman, dressed in a black dress, black and white shawl, black bonnet with a red rose in it ; no better description of her can be given at- present. Her modus operandi is to meet children in the street, who she can see is going oil an errand to a shop, she will stop and ask them to go ror a parcel for her to some shop ( which she says she had jeft there), promising to give the child 2d. when it returns, at the same time asking the child to leave its basket, < tc., with her until it returns, and by the time that the child has returned, the woman has decamped. HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING* Stolen from a field, at Newcastle- under- Lyme, on 25tb ultimo :— a chestnut horse Cob, 9 years old, 14 hands high white streak down face, and the hair has been clipped froia inside both ears. Committed for trial at the ensuing Quarter Sessions at Oakham, on 19t, h instant, charged with horsestealing at Latjgham :— BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. Stolen by means of housebreaking, between 11 a. m. and 6.30 p. m., 28tb ultimo, from a cottage at Coven Heath, Bush- bury :— six silver Tea Spoons and a pair of silver Sugar Tongs, all with monogram ' R. R.'; and a gold- plated Keeper Ring, buckle shape. Supposed by two tramps : lst, 6 feet high, about 23 years of age, very thin build ; dressed in black cloth cap with cheesecutter peak, ditto jacket, and black and white woollen singlet underneath ; 2nd, about 20 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high ; dressed in black billycock hat xnrl dark cloth clothes. WILLIAM ROBINSON, 19 years of age, 5 feet 1 inch high, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, proportionate' build, oval face, scar on right temple, several scars on back of hands and scar on right thigh. S.' on back, and ono fiddle rattern ; 2 silver sauce Ladles— one cracked, both old, the Hall mark on both is very loDg and indistinct ; 6 desert Knives and Forks, plated, plain ivory handles, old and worn ; a gentleman's brown silk Umbrella, nearly new. Supposed by a man about 35 years of age, 5 ft. 10 or 11 inches high, sallow complexion, dark hair, whiskers, beard and moustache ; dressed in dark suit, and black hard felt hat, and of gentlemanly appearance. ARTHUR NEWTON, alias CLAISE alias TEMPLE, advertised iu Police Gazette April 19th, has been apprehended and bailed for trial.— Bow- street, October 2. JOHN NOVITSKY, who absconded on 22nd August last, stealing Russian and Italian bonds, has been apprehended. Bow- street, October 2. Stolen at Bewdley, on 4th ultimo:— a woman's light brown cloth Ulater, buttons to match material, pocket on left breast, spot of gas tar on Jeft arm :— By ELIZABETH SUGDEN, 22 years of age, 5 feet 1 inch higb, fair com- plexion, light hair, very regular front teeth, delicate and very good looking, slender figure; dressed in black serge dress, black straw hat, turned up at side and trimmed with black sateen lace, probably wearing the stolen ulster ; she is a native of Oswestry, Salop, Accompanied by her husband,. FREDERICK SUGDEN, a timber measurer, about 26 years of a£ e, 5 feet 10 inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, sandy moustache and small side whiskers, slender build and of military appearance. Information to Mr. 8upt. Wheeler, Police Office, Stourbridge, or to Sergeant James Herman, Town Hall, Bewdley, Worcestershire, who holds a warrant for her apprehension.— Bew- street, October 2. Stolen, on 24th ult., from Finllwyn, Llanfair:— a pair of Scissors, about 7 inches long, harrow at both points, bronze handle, the rivet crushed ; a large Reel of drab thread, for sewing- machine ; a blaek- hafted Razor and black Case, By a tramping labourer, about 30 to 33 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, brown hair, thin on back of head, small whiskers on side of face ; dressed in drab jacket, cord vest and trousers, jim crow hat, and strong boots, wore leather straps round ttie calves of his legs over his trousers ; stated that he had been working harvest for a farmer near Llansellin, Denbighshire. R. Davies, Castle- street, Shrewsbury,' and a Half- penny, with a email piece of silver in the centre attached, both have seconds hands, and sunk seconds dials, engine- turned cases. By a woman, about 28 or 30 years of age, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, dark hair and eyes, thin sallow pale face ; dressed in black dress, black jacket, buttoned down front, and reaching nearly to the knee, fitting up tight round neck, black fashionable hat or bonnet, fitting tight on the head, tied under chin, black fall, wreath of ( lowers round front, and pink flower on one side ; appeared - far advanced in pregnancy, supposed fictitious, carried a news- paper parcel, containing a dark maroon dress, quite new, trimmed with black satin ; she was traced to Beeston, in Cheshire, apparently making for Crewe, en route for Liver- pool or Manchester ; wore a wedding ring and keeper, and spoke with a Cheshire accent, appearance of a dressmaker.
