Dublin Castle, 13th May, 1883. • DESCRIPTION of the four men, wanted fix murder of Lord F. Cavendish and Mr. Burke, the Cfiief and Under Secretaries for Ireland, in the Phoenix Park, on Saturday, 6th instant, between 7 and 8 P. M. :— 1. About 35 years old, stout make, dark complexion, li& ir, whiskers, and moustache recently clipped, so as to give a bristling appearance, narrow forehead, natural hollow or d'mge on bridge of nose; wore a soft black'jerry hat and dark clothes. 2. About 30 years, sandy hair, whiskers, and moustache ; brown faded coat, as if much exposed to sun, soft black jerry hat. 3. About 20 years, small dark moustache, no whiskers; soft black hat and dark clothes. 4. About 30 years, sandy hair and moustache, beard on chin; wore dark clothes and soft black hat. On the I? th August he reported at Mallow, and stated he was'going to Newmarket R look for work, and if unsuccessful he would try Millstreet. He has not reported himself at either of the latter places and his present whereabouts are unknown. Fell, Esq., JP., which were stolen from his residence at Fellfort, parish of Kilquane, and barony of Barrymore, on the night of the 8th instant:— 1. A grayhound bitch, black, with white ring round the neck, and two small bare spots on right side of back, answers to the name of " Ring." 3. DESCRIPTION of Benjamin Hawtrey, native of London, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 10th of August, 1882, in the barony of Tyrkennedy, parish of Enniskillen, and county of Fermanagh, stolen foui; pounds ten shillings, { wo silver Geneva watches, a silver chain, and a silver locket from the person of John Galligan, of Paisley, Scotland. The two watches and locket have been recovered :— Smart active appearance, getting bald on top of head, square shoulders, brown eyes, sharp nose, sandy complexion, thin face, active make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about $ 0 years of age, sandy hair and moustache, face shaved; wore regimentals; is a sergeant, 2nd Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. WHEREAS at or about the hour of twenty minuses past three o'clock, P. M., on tfltu^ DAY, tho 8th Juno, instant, Walter M. Bourke, Esq., of Rahassane Park, Craughwell, in the county of Galway, and Corporal Wallace, of the Royal Dragoons, were shot dead on the road close to one of the gates of Castle Taylor Demesne, near Ardrahan, in the said county, l^ r some person or persons at present unknown : . His Excellency, for tho better apprehending and bringing to justice the pefiyctrators of these Murders, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of TWO THOUSAND POUNDS to any person or person^ who shall, within six months from the date hereof, gite such information as shall ; lead to the. conviction of the porson or persons, or any of them, who committed the said Murders. And n MNMH reward of . ' ONE THOUSAND POUNDS " v. for such private information as shall lead to the same result. DESCRIPTION of articles, the property of Mr. George Knox, which were stolen from his house, at Browns- town, parish of Ballysax, barony of East OfFaly. between the hours of 1 and 8 o'clock A. M. on the 16th instant, viz.:— One six- chamber revolver. Constabu- lary ; one silver mag, marked Frances A. Knox, 1875; a silver mug. marked James A. DESCRIPTION of John Cross, native of Dramshrue, who stands charged with having, on the morning of 37th August, 1882, at Drumshrue, in the barony of Connell, parish of Kilmeague, maliciously set fire to a stable, the property of his father, Thomas Cross:— Blue - eye's, short thick nose, sallow complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 40 years of age, brown hair, shaves chin and upper lip, wears side whiskers, which are brown ; wore a soft hat, dark coat, black trowsers, and plaid vest; is a labourer. Mary Walker ( child desertion), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 18th August, 1882. The woman, name and native place unknown ( suspected infanticide), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 24th July, 1882. The tramp, name and native place unknown ( robbery of clothing), described in Hue- and- Cry of 11th July, not arrested. Elizabeth Hynes ' robbery of clothing), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 27th June, 1882. Kilkenny. The two persons ( intimidation), described in the. Huf- and- Cry of 7th July, 1882, not arrested. DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 18th August, 1882, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School, King's County ;— Patrick Connell, 773, 16 years ol age, about 6 feet high, ordinary make, fresh complexion, brown hair, brown eyes, ordinary nose, ordinary mouth, oval visage, scar on nose, formerly belonged to Work- house,' Dungarvan; father dead, mother Resided Dungarvan. Limerick, DESCRIPTION of three men, names unknown, who stand charged with having, on the Slst August, 1882, stolen the sum of twenty pounds ten shillings, the property of Mrs. Margaret Hennessy, from her dwelling- house, in the barony of Lower Connello, parish of Kilscannell:— 1. Very tall. no hair on face; wore a jerry hat, dark tweed coat, and white flannel drawers. 2. About 6 feet 3 inches in height, black whiskers with rest of face shaded ; wore a jerry hat and dark clothes' , t> About middle height, no hair on face ; wore a jerry hat and dark clothes. DESCRIPTION of Mathew Moore, native of Rene- vanna, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd day of August, 1882, in the barony of Coonagh, parish of Doon, seriously assaulted his step- mother, Catherine Moore, from the effects of which her life is in imminent danger :— Walks with a swinging gait; gray eyes, short cocked nose, pale sallow complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 27 years. of age, light brown hair; wore a dark tweed coat, light tweed trowsers, and dark vest; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of John Richie, native of county Longford, who " stands charged with having, on the 20th July, * 882, in the barony of Ardagh, parish of Templemichael, assaulted Thomas Farrell, Relieving Officer of Longford Union, by striking him with a stick over the left temple, thereby endangering his life. Kelly, native of Athlone, who stands charged with having, on the 9th September, 1882, in the' barony of Ardagh, parish of Temple* michael, stolen, in conjunction with John Costello, now in custody, a pair of trowsers from the'hous* of Christohper Gannon, tailor, of Longford . DESCRIPTION of Patrick Corcoran, native of Carrow- ^ cullen, who stands charged with having, on the 18th September, 1882, in the barony of Tyrawley, parish of * Templemurry, committed rape on Catherine Loughney;— Eye- lid turned out as if caused bp a burn, gray eyes, large thick nose, fair complexion, round face, very stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 27 years of age; wore a soft felt hat, blue frieze coat, tweed trowsers, and tweed vest; is a farmer's son. DESCRIPTION of Margaret Smith, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 3nd day of September, 1882, in the barony of Monaghan, parish of Monaghan, deserted her two children and left them chargeable on the Monaghan Union. ( See Hue- and- Cry dated 25th July, 1882):— High cheek bones, large front teeth, leans forward when walking, has a halt, gray eyes, regular Dose, sallow complexion, broad face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark hair ; wore a dark t>< ay alpaca skirt, old gray shawl, a piece out of one comer of it. no shoes ; is a pauper. DESCRIPTION of Martin Fox ( mother's name Catherine Crean), native of Lisduff, who stands charged with having, on the 16th August, 1882, in tho barony of Frenchpark, parish of Tibohine, absconded from his paronts, and cannot be found:— Freckled face, good- looking, fair complexion, stout mate, 3 feet 6 inches high, about 9 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a cap, whitish jacket, trowsers, and vest. Was in an industrial school for 3 months. Had his name on trowsers; all his clothing belonged to the industrial school, and were given him on his discharge from that institution. ( 54156 c.— 4998.) DESCRIPTION of Mary Madden, supposed to be fictitious, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 25th August, 1882, in the barony of Boyle, parish of Killukin, at Gardenston, endangered the life of her infent male child by leaving it on the roadside:— Dark, eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, long^ co, slight make. 6 feet 4 inches high, about 26 years ol^ gc, dark hair; wore a red Cashmere dress, brown or grayish shawl; barefooted; is a tramping vagrant. DESCRIPTION of David M'Mullin, native of Stra, who stands charged with hiving, on the 3 ® th August, 1882, in the barony of Upper Strabane, parish of Lower Bodoney, stolen from his master, Michael M'Crory, ol Tievenameena, a brown tweed coat and a pair of moleskin trowsers 16 years of age, 5 feet high, medium make, yellow complexion, regular smooth face, gray eyes, regular nose, brown hair; wore a shabby white hat, shabby bottle- green coat, old and shabby tweed trowsers and vest; is a native of Stra, near Newtownstewart, aud is a servant boy. M., on the 2nd April last, Mrs. Henry Smythe was shot dead in the demesne at Barbavilla, in the county of Westmeath, by some person or persons at present unknown: His Excellency, for the better apprehending imd bringing to justice thA^ irpetrators of this Murcrer, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ^ TWO THOUSAND POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to tho conviction of the person or persons who committed the same, or any of them. And a further reward of FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS for such private information as shall lead to the same result. His Excellency is also pleased to offer in addition to the above rewards a FREE PARDON and the Special Protection of the Grown in any part of Her Majesty's Dominions to any person concerned in, or privy to, the said Murder other than the person or persons who actually committed the same, in case of his giving such information as shall lead to the conviction of the persons, or any of them, concerned in the Murder aforesaid.
