WHEREAS Lord Frederick Charles Cavendish, the Chief Secretary, and Thomas Henry Burke, Esquire, the Under Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Irjland, were bo tally murdered in the Phoenix I ark, in the county Of Dublin, on the evening of Saturday, the 6th May, 1882 : And whereas four persons' are believed to have beeta concerned in the actual perpetration of these jnurderg,: Now We, John Poyntz, Earl Spencer, Lord Lieu- ' tenant- Qeneral and General Governor of Ireland, for the better apprehending such persons and bring- ing them ta justice, are pleased hereby to offer a reward of TEN THOUSAND POUNDS to any person or persons who, within three months iroin the date hereof, shall give such information as shall lead to the conviction of the murderers : And a further reward of • ONE THOUSAND POUNDS for such private information, within the same time, as shall lead to fhe same result s And We are also pleased hereby to offer to any person concerned in or privy to the murders ( not being one of the actual perpetrators thereof) who shall, within the same time, give such information as shall lead to the conviction of the murderers, a FREE PARDON and the Special Protection of the Crown in any part of Her Majesty's dominions. Dublin Castle, 13th may, 1882. DESCRIPTION of the four men, wanted for murder of Lord F. Cavendish and Mr. Burke, the Chief and Under Secretaries for Ireland, in the Phoenix Park, on Saturday, 6th instant, between 7 and 8 P. M. :— 1. About 35 years old, stout make, dark complexion, hair, whiskers, and moustache recently clipped, so as to' give a bristling appearance, narrow forehead, natural hollow or dinge on bridge of nose; wore a soft black jerry hat and dark clothes. 2. About 30 years, sandy hair, whiskers, and moustache ; brown faded coat, as if much exposed to sun, soft black jerry hat. 3. About 20 years, small dark moustache, no whiskers; soft black hat and dark clothes. 4. About 30 years, sandy hair and moustache, beard on chin ; wore dark olothes and soft black hat. The height cannot be given jnfjmy, all being sitting on an outside car, driven by a man between 35 and 40 years, red bloated face, with a few days' growth of beard on; dark or brown coat, supposed frieze, and low soft black hat. The horse was a bay or chestnut, of good action, and the car had either a dark green or a red panel. The men had the appearance of sailors or well- to- do artisans.— JOHN MALLON, Superintendent. J* of Michael Moore, alias James M'Mahon, alias Patrick Ryan supposed native of Wolf Hill, Queen's County, who stands charged with having, on the 9th September and other recent dates, in the baronies of Connell and Offaly East, parishes of Kilmeague and Kildate, obtained several sums of money under false pretences, by passing fraudulent cheques. He hiis also passed a forged cheque on W. J. Morrisscy, of Abbeyleix Queen's County:— Slight discharge from left ear, slovenly gait, varicose veins on right leg, full blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 25 yesrs of age. fair hair, and light moustache; wore a tweed coat, trowsers, and vest, diagonal pattern ; wears a gray tweed Ulster coat; is a shop assistant. He was last seen at Newbridge on the 3rd instant:—. DESCRIPTION of three men, names unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 31st August, 1^ 82, stolen the sum of twenty pounds ten shillings, the property of Mrs. Margaret Hennessy, from her dwelling- house, in the barony of Lower Connello, parish of Kilscannell:— . 1. Very tall, no - hair on face ; wore a jerry hat, dark tweed coat, and white flannel drawers. 2. About 5 feet 3 inches in height, black whiskers with rest of face shayed ; wore a jerry ha^ yand dark clothes. 3. About middle heieht, no hair on face ; wore a jerry hat and dark clothes. DESCRIPTION of Mathew Moore, native of Rene vanna, who stands charged with having, on the 93rd day of August, 1882, in the baronv of Coonagh, parish of Doon, seriously assaulted his step- mother, Catherine Moore, from the effects of which her life is in imminent danger :— Walks with a swinging gait; gray eyes, short cocked nose, pale sallow complexion, thin face, slight rrake, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 27 years of age, light brown hair: wore a Hark tweed coat, light tweed trowsers, and dark vest; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Corcoran, native of Carrow- cullen, who stands charged with having, on the lStlf September, 1882, in the barony of Tyrawley, parish of Templemurry, committed rape on Catherine Loughney:— Eye- lid turned out as if caused b? a bum, gray eyes, large thick nose, fair complexion, round face, very stout make, 5 feet' 7 inches high, about 37 years ol age; wore a soft felt hat, blue frieze coat, tweed trowsers, and tweed vest; is a farmer's son. DESCRIPTION of Margaret Smith, native place unknown, who stands charged, with having, on the 2nd day of September, 1882, in the barony of Monaghan, parish of Monaghan, deserted her two children and left them chargeable on the Monaghan Union ( See Hue- and- Cry dated 25th July, 1883);— High cheek bones, large front teeth, leans forward when walking, has a halt, gray eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, broad face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, About " 40 yearr. of age, dark hair ; wore a dark gray alpaca skirt, old gray shawl, a piece out of one corner ol it. no shoes ; is A pauper. DESCRIPTION ' of Martin Fox ( mother's name Catherine Crean), native of Lisduff, who stands charged with having, on the 16th August, 1882, in the barony of Frenchpark, parish of Tibohine, . absconded from his parents, and cannot be found:— Freckled face, good- looking, fair complexion, stout make, 3 feet 5 inches high, about 0 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a cap, whitish- jacket, trowsers, and vest. Was in an industrial school for 8 months. Had lys Tiamn on trowsers ; all his clothing belonged to the industrial school, and were given him on his diecharge from that institution. ( 64156 o.— 4993.) DESCRIPTION of David M'Mullin, native of Stra, who stands- charged with havintr, on the 19th August, 1882, in the barony of Upper Strabane, parish of Lower Bodoney, stolen from his master, Michael M'Crory, of Tievenameena, a brown tweed coat and a pair of moleskin trowsers :— 16 years of age, 5 feet high, medium make, yellow complexion, regular smooth face, gray eyes, regular nose, brown hair; wore a shabby white hat, shabby bottle- groen coat, old and shabby tweed trowsers and vest; is a native of Stra, near Newtownstewart, and is a servant boy.
