Whenever it is desired that any person should be appre- hended, and the Name it given, it it indispensably necessary that an information should be made and sworn to before a Magistrate, of th « Offence charged, and an attested copy thereof, tegotber with lb* advertisement, forwarded to the Editor for insertion. At no charge it made for the insertion of any article in the POLICE GAZETTE, all Letter* addressed to the Editor uaHat be prepaid, otherwiso the insertion will not be made. He is a uative of Stone, Staffordshire, where it is supposed his mother keeps a public- house. Information to Mr. Supt. On morning of 10th instant, between 12 15 and 6 o'clock, the booking office at the Uxbridge- road Station was entered, a cupboard door ( in which was an iron safe fixed) broken open, the said safe opened with a false key, and Cash stolen therefrom. A leather Cash Bag with brass label and padlock, belonging to the L. aud N. W. Railway, was also stoleu. £ 25 reward will be paid for such information as shall lead to the apprehension aud conviction of the offender or offenders. Information to Mr. W. T. The two half- pint Cups have ' John Webb, won at Batheaston' scratched on the bottoms Information to Mr. Supt. Morgan, Westou, Somersetshire.— Bow- street, April 17. EDWARD WALL, wanted for Burglary at Pollardine, Salop, on 1st February, 1881, and advertised iu Police Gazette 2nd August, aud 12th December, 1881, has been appiehended, and is remanded till the 22ua instant. The stolen property has not been recovered, for description of the property stolen see Police Gazette of 7th February, 1881. Information to Mr. Supt. He has been in the army and navy, and was sentenced to 6 months hard labour for desertion at Bath ; dresBed when last seen in brown mixture coat and vest, light coloured trouaerp, black billycock hat, and elastic side boots. J.', attached to a silver Chain with long plain links connected by small balls ; a lady's dreBs ring ( old), mounted with opals and garnets ; a large white ostrich Feather. Supposed by a servant, about 23 years of age, ( looks oldei), 4 feet 10 inches high, dark brown hair, blue eyes, sallow complexion ; dressed m black cloth jacket, trimmed with fur, black hat and feather, brown dress, speaks with a strong north of Ireland accent. Absconded on 7th instant, charged on a warrant with embezzlement: ARTHUR NEWTON, alias CLAISE, alias TEMPLE, a medical student, 28 years of age, looks older, 6 feet 6 or G inches high, stout build, ruddy complexion, dark brown hair, Bliort thick curly reddy- brown moustache and Btuall whiskers, gentlemanly appearance, of good address, speaks with a drawl, short- sighted, wears glasses, probably wearing a silk hat, maker Beatley, Norwich. Information to the Chief Constable, Guildhall, Norwich.— Bow- st., April 19. Absconded 14th instant, charged with stealing £ 35. Gold and Silver, and a £ 5 Bank of England Note:— EDWARD WHITELL, 15 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, dark com- plexion, eyes, and hair ( curly); dressed in brown overcoat, dark under ditto, light tweed trousers, soft felt hat, side spring boots. Supposed to have a revolver in his possession. Friends reside at 82, Jamaica Street, Commercial Road, E , warrant issued. Information to the Director of Criminal Investigations, Great Scotland Yard, S. W.— Metropolitan Police, April 19. Reminded until 20th instant, on a charge of stealing a Watch ( recovered), at Fakenham, Norfolk, on 15th inst :— GEORGE BAINES, 25 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, light complexion aud hair, no whiskers, brown eyes, a groom ; dressed in brown tweed coat & veBt, browa corduroy breeches, brown leather gaiters, lace up boots, blue cloth cap and white neckerchief; a native of Edith Weston, Rutlandshire. Absconded on or about 6tli i rstant, charged on a warrant with embezzling various sums of Money :— OLIVER BATE, late poor rate collector to the parish of Trentham, about 29 years ot age, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, fresh complexion, light brown hair, si£ alJ light moustache, little or no whisker*, grey eyes, medium build, smart appearance ; generally dresses in a rourd hard black felt hat, and a light grey suit of clothes. Information to Mr. Supt McWilliams, Police Office, Longton, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, April 17. Stolen from a workshop at Wellington, between 7th and llth instant:— about 40 stonecutter's Chisels, about 9 or 10 inches long, i- inch to 2- inch wide ; two paint Brushes, the one new has got some red paint on the handle, the other is much worn ; a 6- inch iron Square ; a 2 foot Rule, cracked in the middle ; a mason's lump Hammer, marked ' W. M.' on each side ; and a small pointing Trowel, some of them are marked ' W. Marshall' aud some ' R. Marshall.' By a mau 35 to 40 years of ag<*, about 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, medium built, walks erect, sandy whiskers. lound face; dressed in a grey mixture jacket, and supposed cord trousers ; appeared to be a stonecutter or mason ; he offered some of the tools for sale in Wellington, on the night of 8th instant. Information to Deputy Chief Constable Ivins, Wellington, Salop.— 1low- street, April 17.| Charged with stealing £ 2i 10s. from a bed- room at the Midland Railway Hotel, Derby, on the night of 29th ultimo : — a [ man, about 45 years of age, apparently a foreiguer, 5 feet 5 or r6 inches high, side whiskers aad moustache, chin shaved, hair turning grey, stiff and medium build, sallow complexion ; wore a tall silk hat, and carried a shiny black leather bag. Stolen at Oswestry on 15tli instant:— a silk puce Polonaise, trimmed with black lace, aud three buttons on the waistband ; also a black silk Skirt with black bows down front, trkumed with jblack lace. By a man, about 30 years of age, abont 5 feet G or 7 inches high, broad face, Bandy com- plexion ; dressed in a blue pilot monkey jacket, moleskin trousers, very dirty cap with peak, with two small tassels at corn » r of the peak on the right side, a navvy, and spealts with au Irish accent. Stolen at Clee, on 8th instant:— a Canadian gold Watch, a gold Albert, 2 gold Seals, aud Half- a- Sovereign— Albert itnd Seals recovered. By ELIAS WESTON, alias JAMES TAYLOR, 22 years of age, 6 feet 5 inches high, slim build, very dark complexion, black hair, black whiskers on chin end, and Blight black moustache ; dressed in pepper- and- ta't coat and vest, coat cut round the bottom, black ribbed cloth trousers, black hard round felt hat, elastic side boots, violet- coloured front, dirty white linen collar ; has been lodging with his father- in- law at the following address— Frederick Taylor, 3 House, 1 Court, Addey - street, Upperthorpe, Sheffield ; also has a sister and aunts in Sheffield, and has been with Mr. Glossop, Royal Liver Society Office, New Suriey- street, Sheffield, for about 6 years as canvasser or clerk ; talked of trying to get on a ship at London or Hull. Charged with stealing a pair of patent leather laggings, which lace up the sides, brans eyelet- holes, one strap at top ; also cutting the Hair from the tails of 10 horses ( hair recovered), at Ombersley, on 12th inBtant:— a man, about 23 years of a^ e, 5 feet 5 inches high, fresh ccmplexion, full face, brown hair, slight whiskers, thick lips ; dressed in rough dark giey tweed jacket, trousers and ve$ t a little darker, black bowler hat, had the appearance of a groom ; was accompanied by a woman about 25 years of age, dark sallow complexion, thin face, medium height; dressed in drab mackintosh, high heeled boots, white hat, trimmed with black.
