The Names of Persons charged with Offences who arc known but not in custody, and a Description of those who are not known, their Appearance, Dress, and other marks of Identity. The Names of Accomplices and Accessories, with every particular which may lead to their Apprehension. INFORMATIONS. HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING. Stolen between 6 and 7 p. m., on 27th ultimo, from Teston, Kent:— a dark brown mare Donkey, white nose, black lnai, brown legs, a little white between the hocks and hoof, short coat, mane cut short, a few blotches in skin on rump, one hind shoe off, in good condition. Information to Mr. Supt. Hulse, Kent Constabulary, West Malling.— Bow- street, July 2. Stolen from a field near Walton- liill, in Clent, on th © night of 25th instant:— a red roan aged cart Horse, about hands high, right hind fetlock white, fresh scar on right hip, long dark mane and tail, in good condition. Information to Mr. Supt. Wheeler, Police Office, Stourbridge, Worcestershire. Bow- street, June 30. Found in the possession of a party of horse copers, on 20th instant :— a dark bay Filly, 3 years old, about 15£- hands high, has a large rip or wound on near side. Information to Mr. Supt. Yardley, Solihull, Warwickshire.— Ilmo- st., June 30. Stolen on 20th instant, about 7a. m., from the Warwick- shire Moor, Tamworth :— a dark iron grey or blue roan Pony, about 13 hands high, long mane aud tail when stolen, thick set and cloggy, handsome, 6 years old, a slight splint on near- foreleg. By a man, about 50 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high; of military appearance ; dressed in dark cloth jacket aud vest, cord trousers, patched clown the fronts with canvas-., and clogs ; of dirty appearance. Was standing in Tamworth Market on 19th selling pills, and was seen in possession of the Pony going through Glascote on the Huxley and Leicester Road on 20th instant. £ 5 reward will be given by the owner, Mr. J. Ballard, Tamworth, upon the conviction of the offender and recovery of the Pony. Information to Mr. Superinten- dent Walker, Police Office, Atherstone, or to Inspector Beck, Nuneaton, Warwickshire.— Bow- street, June 28. Stolen between 8 p. m. 24th, and 9 a. m on 25th instant, from a field in Acrefield- road, Woolton :— a brown carriage Horse, about 16 hands high, a little white on near hind fetlock, aged, without shoes, had flat rits, in poor condition, has a habit of carrying its tail on one side. Also stolen from Dunbabin Farm, Woolton- roid, Waver- tree, between 11- 30 p. m. 24th, and 6 a. m. 25th instant :— an old Shandry, two wheels, pale green colour, faded, tail lets down and fastens with chains, one shaft good, the other much worn ; an old set of Harness, bridle brass mounted on each side, faded red brow band, white metal mountings on saddle, chains at the ends of traces. Two men were seen driving this horse and trap on the road at Rainhill, at 2 50 a. m. on the morning of the robbery, going in the direction of Warrington. Information to Mr. Supt. Brindle, Prescot, Lancashire.— Bow- street, June 28. BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. During the night of 28 th ultimo, the Post Office, St. Alban's, was entered, and about £ 3 12s. 6d. consisting of Gold and Silver, and 2 five- shilling packets of Coppers in brown paper and tied up with narrow coloured tape, stolen therein. The thieves left behind them a small bull's eye iamp. Three men dressed in dark clothes were seen to leave the office by the front door about, 2 30 a. m. Information to Mr. Supt. Pike, Police Office, St. Alban's, Herts.— Bow- street, July 2. Stolen between 10' 30 p. m., 28th, and6' 30 a. m., 2.9th ult, from No. 1, Abbey- road, St. Thomas's :— a single- breasted Chesterfield Overcoat, black Elysian cloth, fly front, square behind, black velvet collar, and black cloth buttons. Supposed by fa tramp. Information to Mr. Superintendent Head, Oxford.— Bow- street, July 2. Stolen, by means of burglary, on 28th instant, at Merrow :— a silver Inkstand, with inscription thereon—' Pre- sented to Horace Bustard,' there was a small Candlestick in the centre of the st- nd ; also a small silver Candlestick; a small silver Card Case ; an ivory do. ; 3 gold Seals, two with the creBt of a griffin, the other the crest of Cupid riding upon a lion ; and a very old Watch, Information to Deputy Chief Workhouses. Information to Mr. Supt. Haines, Whitchurch, Salop.— Bow- street, June 28. Stolen at Boothen, near Stoke- on- Trent, during night of 23rd instant, by means of burglary :— a woman's imitation Sealskin. Jacket, stamped pattern ; a drab woollen Shawl; a man's long white Slop, two buttons on front, one ou each wristband ; a brown mixture cloth Test; a white Table- cloth; and two 4- lb. Loaves of Bread. Information to Mr. Supt. Bowen, Stoke- on- Trent, Staffordshire— Bow- strcet, June 25. Stolen by means of housebreaking, between 2 and 5 p. m. on 23rd instant, at Merstham, Surrey: a suit of grey Clothes, light colour ; an old- fashioned open- faced silver Watch, with piece of steel Chain attached ; a small round faced Time- piece ; and a red and white coloured bundle Handkerchief. Information to Mr. Supt. Redfad, Surrey Constabulary, Godstone.— Bow- street, June 25. Description of a man concerned with JOHN GEORGE OWENS, in custody for burglary:— 25 years of ags, 5 feet 5 inches high, pale complexion, rather long nose, very light hair, cut short, small red whiskers, slight moustache fair, grey eyes, thin build, long thin hands, has impediment in his speech ; dress ( generally) dark clothes, felt hat, respectable appearance, generally carries a black or carpet bag, and supposed accom panied by his wife, who is short and thin, dark, delicate looking; wears black hat with white feather. Information to the Director, C. I. D., Great Scotland Yard, SM.,— Metro politan Police, June 25, LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT. Wanted on a warrant for embezzlement:— ARTHUR HOLMES WILLMOTT, late of 45, Charlwood- street, Pimlico, about 25 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark brown hair, worn rather long, small moustache and whiskers, stout build ; dress respectably, has been to sea. Information to the Inspector, Detective Department, City of London Police, 26, Old Jury.— Bow- street, July 2. Absconded on 22nd ultimo, charged with embezzling £ 27 :— ALEXANDER ROBERTSON, packman, late of Colchester, 40 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, ruddy com- plexion, brown hair, grey eyes, beard and moustache shaved off, stout build, and walks erect ; dressed in grey cloth coat and vest, brown trousers, and black felt hat, with fiat top. He is travelling with a pony and cart, selling men's and lads' clothing, and divers other articles ; was seen in the neighbour- hood of Colchester on the night of 26th ultimo, and at Bures on 28th ultimo. Description of Pony and Cart :— a black mare Pony about 11 hands high, aged, chipped knees, near off leg enlarged from tile knee to the fetlock, white spots on off shoulder and side, and one on the baek. The Cart is an old one, painted lead colour, fore board broken, and shafts nearly new. Information to Mr. Supt. Chapman, Boxford, or to Inspector Palmer, Hadleigh, Suffolk, who holds the warrant for his apprehension— Bow- street, July 2. Absconded on 22nd ultimo, charged on a warrant with embezzling ^ 34 4s. :— JAMES HENRY SAMBROOK, a clerk, 19 years of age, 5 feet 11 inch high, rather thick set, palish complexion, straight brown hair, no whiskers or moustache, slightly weak kneed, cut mark over right eyebrow ; dressed in dark twred cloth suit, hard black billycock hat. His parents reside at 168, Lower Moss- lane,. Hulme, Manchester. £ 20 reward will be paid by his late employer for such information as will lead to his apprehension if effected within 6 months from this date. Information at the Deteotive Office, Town Hall, Manchester.— Bow- street, July 2. Description of WILLIAM STACEY, a convict on license wanted at Alfreton, on warrant for stealing a cotton Singlet; a cloth Vest, dark with white spots ; a cashmere H maker- chief, yellow :— he is a native of Tupton, near Chesterfield, 45 years of age, 5 feet 4J inches high, fair complexion, sandy hair, bald, tandy whiskers and moustache, large scar on left cheek, on right arm, and little finger of left hind ; dressed in brown coat and vest, and haid felt hat, was very dirty, and had the appearauce of a tramp, works amongst the farmers. Information to Mr. Supt. Coope, Alfreton, Derbyshire.— Bow- street, July 2. Stolen, at Eversley, on 15th instant:— 12 Sovereigns, 9 Half- Sovereigns, and a silver hunting verge Watch, No. Notice.— It is requested that all communications for the I purpose of obtaining or giving information respecting supposed . offenders, or stolon property, may bear tfie Signature of the person requiring or sending the same, and all applications in reference to the POLICE GAZETTE may be made and addressed to tho Editor, Police Court, Bow Street, London, W. C. Whenever it is desired that any person should be appre- hended, and the Name is given, it is indispensably necessary that an information should be made and sworn to before a Magistrate, of the Offence charged, and an attested copy thereof, together with the advertisement, forwarded to the Editor for insertion. As no charge is made for the insertion of any article in the POLICE GAZETTE, ail tetters addressed to the Editor must be prepaid, otherwise the insertion will not be made. The Names and Descriptions of Deserters from the Army, and • f Absentees and Deserters from the Militia, should be forwarded on " War Office Forms 88 and 88A, to the Editor, as above, for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE. Advertisements offering Tewards must state clcaily:—( 1) The amount of the reward. ( 2) The conditions on which it is payablo. { 3). The person by whom it will be paid. Stolen about 11 p. m. en 28tli ultimo, from the person, at the Alexandra Theatre:— a gold Geneva keyless lever hunting Watch, No. 15,041, inscription engraved on the hunting case ' Presented to ( owner's name) from his wife, .1873,' also engraved on the dome ' Manufactured for M. Scooler, of New Orleans.' Information to Detective Department, Liverpool.— Bow- street, July 2. Stolen from the person in Brighton, on 25th instant :— a gold diamond Ring, single stone; an old silver Watch, single case, white dial, roman figures, case much worn, and an 18- carat long link pattern gold albert Chain, with a two guinea Piece attached. Information to Chief Constable Barnden, Brighton, Sussex.— Bow- st., June 30. Stolen from the person at Henley Regatta, on 17th inst.: a leather Purse, maroon color, containing Half- a- Guinea, 3 £! j Bank of England Notes, and a Season Ticket over thf Great Western Railway System, signed by Mr. Swarbrick ; a small gold Geneva Watch, No. 35333, with face somewhat discolored; an alluminum Watch, double cased, open white face, flat glass, bevelled edges, metal discolored at back, inside quite bright and new, French maker and name. Stolen by means of housebreaking, between 24th 26th instant, at Rochdale :—• 1 child's plain silver Cup with handle, inscription ' T. L. L. to G. T. R.' 1 child's embossed Cup with handle. 12 Dessert Knives and Forks, electro- plated blades, richly embossed with grapes and vine leaves on both sides, bnt more thick!}' covered on one side than the other, mother- o'- pearl handles. 12 Fish Knives and Forks, electro- plated blades, em- bossed with scroll around and fish in middle, plain ivory handles. 1 child's silver Dessert Knife, Fork, Spoon, and Napkin Ring, with initials ' C. H. T. H.' engraved on each. 1 pair of quaint old silver circular Cigar Ash Holders, about 3 j inches diameter and 1 inch deep in rim, the bottoms inside being raised groups of figures representing scriptural or eastern scenes, the ditto outside covered with greenish leather. 1 lady's handsome silver- gilt brocaded chased Card Case. 1 old rilver- bladed Butter Knife, ivory handle, much I worn. 1 silver Pickle Fork, three pronged. I 1 plaiu old silver Pigeon's Egg, used as a salve box. 1 ivory- bladed pebble- handled. Paper Knife, mounted in silver. 1 Dress- piece ( 18 yards of flue navy blue Cashmere). 10 yards of black Cashmere. Stolen by means of burglary, on 24th instant, at Cater- ham, Surrey :— a dark brown Overcoat, name inside of collar, ' J. G. Clark'; a hard felt Hat, maker Cole, Strand ; a lady's dark blue waterproof Cloak, ' Maker, Samuel,' on collar ; and a silk Umbrella, with silver band round the handle. Infor- mation to Mr. Supt. Wanted on warrant for stealing £ 49:— CHARLES PARKER, late of No. 7, Portland- street, Leicester, 32 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, pale complexion, light brown hair, whiskers and moustache ( slight), high cheek bones, delicate health, and Buffers from heart disease ; dressed in a black cloth cut- away coat and vest, light tweed trousers, high black hat, and low shoes, a shoemaker, native of, and parents reside at Kettering, Northamptonshire. Wife and family now reside at Kuighton- street, Leicester. Information to City Police, Old Jewry, B. C.— Bow- street, June 30. Description of WILLIAM ROSENHAL, wanted at Leeds, charged with stealing 2 dozen gent's small size silver Geneva Watches, low quality, white dials, and cost about 12s. each :— about 22 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, lightish complexion, dark hair moustache and imperial, and stoutish bhild ; dressed in a dark blue worsted suit, and brown rough felt billy- cock hat, and was formerly employed by Simion Cohen, bread baker, 32, Church Lane, Whitechapel, and Mr. Harris, baker, Petticoat Lane, London ; he is accompanied by another Jew, and is is supposed they will endeavour to leave the country. Stolen at the Farmstead, of Dunnington :— 5 Chickens, common breed, 2 males, 3 females, red and white speckled ; supposed by a man, 25 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, dark complexion, sandy hair, long red beard ; dressed in brown coat, fustian trousers, lace boots, soft felt hat, a tramping labourer. Information to Inspector Farrah, Escrick, York. — Bow- street, June 30. Charged on warrant with embezzling £ 192 7s. 3d. since January last:— JOSEPH WM. SPOOR, late surveyor to Brandon and Byshottles Local Board, about 38 or 40 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, florid complexion, blue eyes, light sandy hair, moustache, and whiskers of same colour all round his face, bald on forehead, hair very thin on top of head, rather stout figure, broad shouldered, very slightly bow- legged ; generally dressed in grey tweed suit, and black hard felt hat. Information to Mr. Supt. Dunn, County Constabu lary Office, Durham.— Bow- st., June 30. Stolen from Headley, Surrey, on 20th instant:— a silver lever hunting Watch, ' Nicholson, Reigate,' on dial a large gold Ring, with three blue stones ; a gold Ring with two stones missing; and £ 2 18s. in Gold and Silver. By JOHN COOK, labourer, about 22 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark brown hair, small dark moustache ; dressed in a black monkey jacket, white slop underneath, cord trousers, and black felt hat. May seek employment as a potman at country public house. Information to Mr. Supt. Lambert, Surrey Constabulary, Dorking, or to Inspector Upfold, Leatherhead, Surrey, who holds a warrant for his appre- hension— Bow- street, June 30. Description of STEPHEN NANCARROW, charged on a warraut with stealing a pilot cloth Overcoat, black lining, velvet collar, outside and ticket pockets, left breast do., little torn at the left outside pocket, cloth buttons ; a pepper and salt colour Jacket, Bingle breasted, pockets on the hips, ticket pocket, and left breast do. ; a double- breasted Vest to match, right pocket burnt with pipe ; a pair of light tweed Trousers, fly fronts, small legs, brass buttons ; 2 cotton Shirts, one blue striped, one with small brown spots, marked ' O. Cavanagh' on tail; a blue silk Necktie, old ; a brown hard felt Hat, no linii g ; a pair of regimental Boots, all about half worn :— he is about 26 years of age, 5 feet 6i inches high, sallow com- plexion, black hair, brown eyes. Stated he was a native of Honiton, Devon, and suffering from small ulcer on right knee, is a deserter from 39 th Depot Brigade. Information to Head Constable Coward, Borough Police Office, Guildhall, Dor- chester, Dorset, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, June 30. Description of RICHARD CROSS, labourer, charged on warrant with stealing 10s. at Han wood, on 9 th instant :— he is about 36 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, fresh complexion, sandy hair and whiskers ; dressed in dark mixture cloth jacket, moleskin vest, dark corduroy trousers, old lace- up boots, and soft black billy- cock hat. Information to Mr. Supt. Howell, Shrewsbury, or Sergeant Edwards, Pontesbury, Salop, who holds the warrant.— Bow- street, June 28. Stolen at Chatham, between G and 7 a. m. on 24th inst. :— an old fashioned silver verge Watch, ' William Spatchett' engraved ou back of inner case, by a man about 50 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, rather stout build, clean shaved, hair turning grey ; dressed in dark coat and vest, cheese- cutter cap, boots down at the heels, said he was a fitter, and lodged at the house one night. Information to Mr. Supt. Coppinger, Kent Constabulary, Chatham.— Bow- street, Jute 28. Charged on warrant with stealing £ 1,300, the Moneys of his Employers :— ALEX. SLEDDALL, cashier, 30 years of age, but looks older, 5 feet 10 inches high without shoes, weighs 15 stone, handsome features, well proportioned build, stout full habit, dark eyes, the whites of which are tinged as those of a half- cast, o'ive complexion with no red tint, very small pimple under one e> e, jet black thick hair, whiskers, beard and moustache, all trimmed pretty close, hands and body completely covered with hair, slight skin eruption on palms of his hands, stolid composed demeanour, even urider excitement, speaks as though his tongue was a little too large, slight watery swelling left point of forehead, slight permanent swelling from an old tooth in_ the right cheek, very small hands and feet, walks erect with swinging gait and swings his arms, rather deaf left ear; generally dressed in thick black clothes, and black silk or round hard felt hat; fond of drink aud loos?, flash company. When in drink has a laughing scream, and snores heavily in sleep. Was seen at North Loudon Station at 4 30 in the afternoon of 29th inst., and at the Westminster Aquarium with a woman about 10.30 the same night. £ 100 reward, 5 per cent, on money recovered, and expenses guaranteed. Stolen in Bacup, between 1 and 3 a. m. 20tli instant.:— a silver lever Watch, No. 73699, maker ' William Clarke, Rawtenstall,' sunk seconds; a silvei watch Guard; an aluminium gold Albert Guard; a daik leather Purse, con- taining a Sixpence ; and a Razor. By a man, a lodger in the house, a native of Bacup, weaver, 25 years of age, 5 feet . inches high, rather stout build, light complexion, light brown hair, blue eyes, no whiskers, slight light moustache, and slight cut mark right side of chin ; dressed in black worsted cloth coat, black cloth double- breasted vest, daik mixture trousers, with fly frontS, black billycock hat and clogs; was discharged from the 81st Regiment, about Christmas, 1879, ami belongs to the Army Reserve. Charged with larceny of two new japanned Trunks, since recovered, at Wantage, Berks, on 8th instant :— EDWIN JACKSON, a returned convict, 33^ years of age, 5 feet 7 ins. high, dark brown hair, whiskers and moustache, hazel eyes, with a sly drowsy expression, oval features, biown or sallow complexion; dressed in light grey cloth coat, or a blue pilot cloth coat, dark cord trousers, and hard black felt hat, and is labourer. Information to Mr. Supt. O'Neill, Wantage, Berks, who holds a warrant for his apprehension, and from whom a photograph may be obtained.— Lew- street, June 2 Stolen in Sunderland, on 22nd inst int.:— a girl's gold Necklace, rope pattern, with a small oval clipped gold Locket attached, engraved on each side; a lady's broad flat silver Neck- lace, one link plain, the other open, with a large oval shaped silver Locket attached, engraved on each side, but not both sides alike, one of the glasses inside cracked.
