M., on the 2nd December, 1879:— Charles Douglass, otherwise Scott, 32 years of age at present, convicted 25th March, 1870, at Belfast, no trade or calling, sometimes holder- up to boiler- makers; born in Belfast; resided before conviction in Belfast, where his friends reside; brown hair, no whiskers, hazel eyes, brown eyebrows, prominent nose, large mouth, sallow complexion, small oval visage, dimple on chin, slight make, 5 feet 6 J inches high, a small round blue mark on ball of each thumb, lost an upper front tooth; wore a jerry hat, dark frieze monkey jacket, cord trowsers, printed barracan vest, shoes, all marked with letters L. P. Information respecting the above- named con- Tict to be given at the Constabulary Stations, or to the Officer in charge of convicts at Lusk Prison, county Dublin. Notice.— A reward of from £ 3 to £ 5 may be paid to any person who may apprehend and deliver up a convict who shall have effected his escape from a Government Prison. PARTICULARS relative to Convict John Nelson, 241- 2675, convicted at Belfast, borough of Belfast, at Borough Sessions, on 1st December, 1878, for breaking into a counting- house with intent to steal, and two previous convictions for felony, and sentenced to 7 years penal servitude and 8 years Police Supervision:— 21 years of age on conviction, can read and write, is an Episcopalian, single, a labourer, born in Holywood, county Down, resided before conviction in Agnes- street, Belfast, where his friends reside, brown hair, gray eyes, dark brown eyebrows, regular nose, large mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 4£ iflches high, J. N. tattooed on left forearm. This convict was released on licence from Lusk Prison, the 23rd June, 1879, and went to Belfast. He has failed to report himself to the Royal Irish Constabulary since the 1st inst., and his present whereabouts are unknown. PARTICULARS relative to Convict John Kelly, 819- 14245, convicted at Ennis, county Clare, at Michael- mas Sessions on 27th October, 1874, for burglary, and sentenced to 10 years penal servitude:— 30 years of age on eonviction, can read and write, is a Roman Catholic, single, born in Athlone, resident before conviction in Limerick, where his friends reside ; brown hair, bald on crown, hazel eyes, dark eyebrows, prominent nose, medium mouth, fresh complexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 4 inches high; lost five upper and two lowei teeth. This convict was released on licence from Spike Island Prison, the 14th November, 1879, and went to reside in Dublin, on the 19th inst. he left his residence, 7, Bull- lane, without notifying same to Police, and his present whereabouts are unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with pnder the 5 th sec. of the Act 84 & 35 Vic., cap. 112. F. A. L. C., and some dots tattooed on back of left hand ; I. anchor and dots on left wrist anchor on thumb. This convict was released on licence from Lusk Prison, the 7th August, 1879, and went to reside at 1, Sandwith- lane, Dublin, on the 5th inst., he notified his intention of going to Liverpool, but be has not reported himself to the Police here, and his present whereabouts are unknown. DESCRIPTION of James Hare, native of Drumquin, who stands charged with having, on the 29th November, 1879, in the barony of Lower Strabane, parish of Ardstraw, fired at Bryan Molloy, a watcher to the Duke of Abercorn, at Ballyreenan:— Has a slight ewngger when walling, speaks with a strong Northern accent, high cheek bones, small beard under' the chin, moustache and chin shaved, there may be some cuts on his face and head; gray eyes, long nose, pale sallow complexion, long face, medium make, 6 feet 11 inches high, about 65 years of age, dark hair turning gray ( worn pretty long), wore a hard round hat, old tweed coat, trowsers ( patched) and vest; is a labourer. Edward Nowlan ( 1438), about 17 or 18 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 4 inches high, ordinary make, sallow complexion, dark brown hair, but very short, blue eyes, long and slightly cocked nose, ordinary mouth, long and good- looking visage ; formerly belonged to 45, Lower Stephen- street, Dublin, where his par- ents, reside.
