INFORMATIONS. MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING. On 24th October last the body of a female child supposed about a month old and to have been dead about five or i' • weeks, was found in a dyke at March, in the Isle of Ely, and a Coroners Jury having returned a verdict of ' Wilful Murder against some person 01- persons unknown.' £ 50 reward will he paid by H. M. Government to any person other than a person belonging to a Police Force in the United Kingdom, who shall give such information and evidence as shall lead to the discovery and conviction of the Murderer or Murderers of the said child, and the Secretary of State will advise the grant of H. M. Gracious Pardon to any accomplice not not being the person who actually committed the Murder, who shall give such evidence as shall lead to a like result. Information to Mr. Superintendent Burrows, March, Isle of Ely.— Bow- street, December 3. shield in centre, has the name ' Fraser' on works, and an elastic string attached ; also a gold oval Brooch, a turquoise . nd four brilliants set in centre ; a gold Brooch with a yellow stone in centre ; a pair of antique Ear- rings, set with diamonds and pearls, iu a morocco case, lined with blue velvet at the bottom and blue satin at the top inside ; a pair of gold Ear- ring?, deep colour, drops having a carbuncle in each, in a case similar to the one above named ; and a lady's gold Ring, set with turquoise stone in centre and two brilliants. Informa- tion to Head Constable Oglethorpe, Preston, Lancashire.— Bow- street, December 5. Overcoat, single- breasted, man's size ; a pair of brown cloth Trousers, fly fronts ; a pair of men's elastic- side Boots, block fronts, nearly new; a Jacket and Vest, grey plaid, both double- breasted ; 2 calico Shirts, one marked ' Henry Hanley, 2nd Warwick Militia'; a pair of light grey worsted Stockings; a blue and white plaid Scarf; a calico Shirt, old- fashioned, very high collar; one red and white cotton Handkerchief; and 4s. 9d. in Money. Information to Mr. Superintendent Whitehurst, West Bromwich, or to Inspector Evans, Hands- worth, near Birmingham.— Bow- street, December 3. ARSON AND WILFUL BURNING. Description of SAMUEL FOX, charged with arson, at Baddaley Green, near Stoke- on- Trent, on 29th ultimo : a farm labourer, about 52 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, fresh complexion, sandy hair, slight whiskers, slender build, swinging gait, and narrow face ; dressed in a round soft billycock hat, dark tweed jacket and vest, cord knee breeches, leggings, and strong nailed boots, nearly new, and tips on heels. Information to Mr. Chief Superintendent Hill, Burslem, Staffordshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, December 3. BREAKING. On 7th instant, Penncharllan Farm, Llanfawr, Bala, was entered, and about £ 39 10s. in Gold ; £ 3 in Silver; and about £ l in Coppers stolen therein. The man advertised in Police Gazette of 5th instant, as having escaped from Ruthin Prison 011 30th ultimo, is suspected : he may be found at some seaport intending to leave the country, probably Liverpool, Swansea, or Cardiff. Information at Chief Con- stable's Office, Dolgelley, or to P. C. Jones, Police Office, Bala, Merionethshire.— Bow- street, December 10. Between 2 and 4 p. m., on 7th instant, a house at Prees Lower Heath, Salop, was broken and entered and stolen therein: a double- breasted black Ulster Overcoat, nap material, buttons close round neck with small band across throat, 6 or 7 buttons down each breast, band across the back, and buttons on at each hip, also buttons in centre, having been cut through, and length nearly down to the ankle, pockets each side, and 2 or 3 buttons on each sleeve at wrist; a pair of brown dog skin . Gloves, lined with wool, the thumb on left hand glove is spotted ; a snake pattern Clothes Brush, no handle, black and white bristles ; and about £ 6 in Gold. Information to Mr. Superintendent Haines, Whitchurch, or to Sergeant Owes, Wem, Salop.— Bow- street, December 10. During the night of 5th instant, a machine- house at the Cannock Lodge Colliery, Newtown, Essington, was broken and entered and stolen therein : a long blue pilot cloth Over- coat, velvet collar, two pockets outside, one of them torn, one do. inside left breast, black buttons ; one Skirt, flap torn, in the pockets were three handkerchiefs— one red chequred cotton, one large white ditto, one small ditto ditto, and some Papers ; a double- breasted dark cloth short Jacket, flap pockets on hips, both have holes in, small ticket pocket right side, and a pocket inside and outside left breast; one blue check Towel; a white huckaback ditto, three red stripes across each end, centre stripe broadest; a pair of Skates with brass foot plates and fronts turned up ; aud two Shillings in Copper Money. Information to Mr. Superintendent Hackney, Brownhills, or to Sergeant Cockerhll, Police Station, Cannock, near Stafford.— Bow- street, December 8. FORGERY. Description of BENJAMIN STONE BUXTON, charged on warrant with forging and uttering a Cheque on Crompton and Evans' Union Bank, Wirksworth, for £ 24 12s., on lst instant: 30 years of age, but looks older, 5 feet 11 inches high, medium build, fresh complexion, brown eyes, long thin face ( pimpled), mole on left side of chin,, brown hair, thin sandy beard aud moustache; dressed in Bedford cord trousers, brown cloth coat and vest, and soft brown hat; he is a native of Aldwark, near Wirksworth, Derbyshire. £ 5 reward will be paid to any person who shall give such information as will lead to the arrest of the above named ( on conviction). Infor- mation to Mr. Superintendent Whieldon, Constabulary Office, Ashbourne, Derbyshire.— Bow- street, December 10. Description of DAVID ANDERSON, late of 136, Wool Exchange, Coleman- street, London, E. C., charged on a warrant with forgery and intent to defraud the Union Bank of Kingston- upon- Hull, Limited, of £ 300: he is 30 or 37 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, slender build, light brown hair aud moustache. Information to Chief Constable Cook, Hull, Yorkshire. Bow- street, December 3. ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PERSON. Stolen in the neighbourhood of Market- street, Man- chester, between 9' 30 and 10 p. m. 25th ultimo : a gold lever Watch, centre seconds, decimal dial, No. 51079, had appended a common brass Guard. £ 2 reward will be paid by the owner for the recovery of watch and guard and apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders, or recovery of the same. Also stolen on the evening of 25th ultimo : a gold lover Watch, gold dial, steel hands, eases far worn, maker Bunyan, of Manchester, No. 33593. £ 2 reward will be paid by the owner of the watch for its recovery and the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders. Information at the Detective Office, Town Hall, Manchester. — Bow- street, December 10. * Stolen frcm the person, at Preston, on 14th ultimo, a lady's email gold Geneva Watch, with gold dial, chased back, Stolen by means of housebreaking at Balsall Heath, between 6.40 and 8.15 p. m. 011 30th ultimo : 2 silver Tea- spoons, marked ' M. A. S.'; a pair of silver Sugar Tongs; butter Knife, blade and handle engraved ; a Salt and a Mus- tard Spoon, electro- plated; a cameo Brooch and Ear- rings, figure of a female's head; a large round Brooch, plated ; a pair of silver Ear- drops, and a pair of gilt Ditto ; a keeper Ring, engraved ; a dress Ditto, set with 6 green stones, a large one in centre ; a small pearl handle Penknife ; a man's dark cloth frock Overcoat, velvet collar, two pockets behind, and one inside left breast; a small drab woollen Shawl; a pair of elastic- side Boots, woman's size ; and about £ 1 in silver. Information to Mr. Superintendent Tyler, Police Office, King's Heath, Worcestershire.— Bow- street, December 5. Between 10 p. m. on lst, and 6 a. m. on 2nd instant, Aelwyducha farm- house, near Tremerchion, was broken into, and stolen therein : a pair of elastic- side Boots, nearly new, white leather socks inside ; a pair of light lace- up Boots, nearly new ; two pairs of strong half watertight Boots, plates on toes, the upper of one of the right boots cut nearly through; two blaek and white plaid cotton Shirts, the collar of one mended with plaid of a smaller pattern; a boy's drab and white flannel Shirt, the sleeves mended with material of a different colour; a drab Jacket and ditto Vest, nearly new ; two linen Collars, marked ' 14'; a Welsh Calvinistic Methodist Hymn Book, ' Mary Lomax, Bryngwin Bach written inside cover ; a light drab twilled monkey Jacket, T. F.' marked in Indian ink on lining near collar, recently washed; and three white flannel Singlets. Information to Mr. Superintendent Hughes, Holywell, Flintshire.— Bow- st., December 5. AND CATTLE STEALING. Found at Wing, Bucks, on 22nd ultimo ( supposed stolen): 3 half- bred Ewe Sheep, two with white faces, the other blank, not branded. Information to Inspector Sutton, Police StatioD, Linslade, Leighton Buzzard, Bucks.— Bow- street, December 10.. Stolen at Bromstead Heath, between 10 a. m. on 22nd, and 8 a. m. on 23rd ultimo : a black faced ewe Sheep, of the South Down breed, and marked with the letter ' P.' with pitch on the rump. Information to Deputy Chief Constable Oswell, Forebridge, Stafford, or to Sergeant Dix, Police Station, Church Eaton, near Stafford.— Bow- street, December 8. Stolen at Ettingshall, near Bilston, on the night of 3rd instant: a Bay half bred Horse, aged, 14 hands 1 inch high, white star on forehead, saddle mark, white ring round near fore fetlock, fore feet very flat, long mane and tail, it is supposed they may clip him and alter his appearance. Information to Chief Superintendent Longden, Constabulary Office, Bilston, Staffordshire.— Bow- sireet, December 8. Supposed stolen at Flashbrook, near Newport, Salop, between 26th and 28th ultimo : a yearling Lamb, Shropshire Down breed, with black face and legs. Information to Mr. Superintendent Crisp, Police Office, Stone, or to Sergeant Mayland, Police Office, Eccleshall, near Stafford.— Bow- street, December 8. Stolen at West Mailing, between 8 a. m. on 30th ultimo, and 8 am. on lst instant: a Southdown ewe Sheep, pure bred, has no marks, but may be in lamb, would weigh 10 or* 11 stone, the property of the Misses Savage. Information to Mr. Superintendent Hulse, Kent Constabulary, Police Station, West Mailing.— Bow- street, December 5. Stolen from a field at East Grinstead, on the night of 8 th ultimo: a black gelding Pony, 13 hands high, aged, has white hairs on back from saddle, and a spavin on one hock, it was bought from the Lewes ' Smith's,' at Forest Row Fair, on 8th ultimo. Information to Mr. Superintendent Berry, Kast Grinstead, Sussex.— Bow- street, December 3. Stolen from a stable at Fincham, on 25th ultimo : a Mare ( recovered). By BINNINGHAM, about 22 yrs. of age, 5 feet high, light complexion, pockpitted, no whiskers, slight scratch on face, recently made ; dressed in light over- coat, black chummey hat, tight- legged trousers, and clogs ; is fond of dancing and singing in public- houses, formerly travelled to fairs with a showman named Francis, as the champion clog dancer, was last seen between Brandon and Bury St. Edmonds, Suffolk. Information to Mr. Superin- tendent Sewter, Downham Market, Norfolk, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, December 3. Stolen from a field in Iffley, Oxon, on 29th ultimo : three Oxford down Shefp, viz :— two fat Tegs, and one store Teg, marked on near side with the letters ' J. S. P.' in red paint the property of Mr. Jas. Parker ; supposed stolen by twojthick set men, they were dressed in rough coats, driving fast trotting chestnut cob, and high sided butchers cart. £ 5 reward will be paid to any person who shall give such information as may lead to the apprehension and conviction of the thief or thieves. Information to Chief Constable Owen, County Police Station, Oxford.— Bow- street, December 3. Found at Biddenden, Kent, on 8th ultimo, supposed stolen : 20 Kent Ewe Sheep, one with black head and legs, red liver mark on back. Information to Mr. Superintendent Waghorn, Kent Constabulary, Cranbrook.— Bow- street, Dec. 3. Stolen during the night of 28th ultimo, at Plox Green, near Minsterley : a b$> wn half- bred wagon Mare, 15 hands high, 7 years old, white streak from forehead to end of nose, white nose ; and a brown filly Colt, which was suckling on the Mare. Information to Mr. Superintendent Howells, Shrewsbury, or Sergeant Langford, Minsterley, Salop,— Bow street, Deoember 3. Between 11 a. m. 30th ultimo, and 8 a. m. lst instant, a ock- up shop at Stoke- on- Trent, was entered and stolen : three Razors, with black handles ; two ditto, white handles ; six black snuff Boxes, silver gilt edges ; two pairs of Scissors ; a Higar- case ; and a pair of common sleeve Links. Information to Mr. Superintendent Bowen, Stoke- on- Trent, Staffordshire. — Bow- street, December 3. Stolen by means of housebreaking at Aston, near Birmingham, between 3' 30 p. m. and 5 p. m. on 29th ultimo : a lady's gold open- faced English lever Watch, No. 62273, enamelled dial, and engraved case; also a lady's gold Chain, diamond pattern. Information to Mr. Superintendent Gallaway, Constabulary Office, Aston, near Birmingham.— Bow- sireet, December 3. Stolen by means of burglary, at Handsworth, during the night 30th ultimo ; a long brown mixture ribbed cloth LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT. Absconded, charged with embezzlement: JOHN W MILLER, clerk, 23 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, dark complexion, black curly hair, slight dark whiskers and mous- tache ; dressed in dark frock coat and vest, grey trousers, high hat.— Metropolitan Police, G Division, Dec. 10. Description of WILLIAM SLATER, deputy steward at Featherstone Main Colliery, charged with larceny : he is about 31 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, fresh complexion, light brown liair, dark moustache, whiskers shaved off, a native of Lancashire, and well known in the district of Ashton- under- Lyne, Bardsley, and Oldham. Information to Mr. Superintendent Whincup, West Riding Constabulary, Pontefract, who holds a, warrant tgx his ? ppr ? heiis —-{{ rest, DmvMr I0i L r J Absconded from Hinckley, on 3rd instant, charged with stealing £ 31 in Gold; six Crown Pieces ; and 10s. in other Silver Coins, one a Shilling, has a very large hole in it: JOSEPH WARDEN, a shoefinisher, of Leicester, ( who had been lodging in the house), 24 or 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, brown hair, no whiskers, small moustache, rather inclined to be s^ ndy, and light pale complexion; dressed in black cloth coat, cotton cord trousers, militia boots, with tips on heels, and hard black billy hat; he has served 2 years in the 17th Regiment; and always carries his discharge with him ; he now belongs to the Leicester Militia, and has attended three trainings; his parents and wife reside iu Leicester. Information to Mr. Superintendent Chapman, Police Station, Hinckley, Leicestershire, who holds the warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, December 10. Strlen at Heavitree, Devon, between 30th ultimo and 5th 1 istant: a black cloth single- breasted Overcoat, much worn, bit new black glazed lining, black cloth buttons, inside breast p icket, two outside pockets, and ticket pocket; a blue rib siagle- breasted Overcoat, ticket pocket and two other pockets o rtside, inside breast pocket, black velvet collar, bone buttons, bound with fine cloth, black lining, and fly fronts; and anew blue cloth double- breasted Overcoat, black lining. Supposed by a man, about 25 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, stoutish build, light brown hair, nearly clean shaved, fresh complexion, and sharpish nose ; dressed in new cord or grey trousers, bowler or felt hat, may be wearing one of the stolen overcoats, as lie pledged his own. Information to the Deputy Chief Constable of Devon, Exeter.— Bow- street, Dec. 10. Absconded from Pewsey, on 7th instant: an Irishman, by trade a tailor, about 35 or 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, large sandy whiskers and moustache, fresh complexion ; dressed in a dark faded cloth jacket, with pockets on the hips, blue cloth vest, light trousers, low shoes, and hard felt hat, tattooed on arm ; charged with slealing a rough brown cloth Overcoat, with velvet collar, lined with violet and black lining ; also a boy's blue cloth pilot Jacket, much worn, lined with black lining. Information to Inspector Maggs, Wilts Constabulary, Pewsey.— Bow- street, D'cember 10. Description of a man who offered a Dress for pledge, • which was stolen from Crumpsall, on the night of 2nd inst. : he is about 40 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, no whiskers, has a cut mark either on the right or left cheek, underneath the eye ; dressed in a pilot cloth reefer coat, and billycock hat. Information at County Police Office, Old Trafford, Manchester.— Bow- street, December 10. Stolen at Walkden, between 4th and 6th instant : a black cloth Yest, single- breasted, four cloth buttons down the front, lined with light satin; a pair of ribbed woollen Stockings ; and an old plaid woollen Shirt. Supposed by a man who lodged in the house, and has since gone to Ashton- under- Lyne : about 27 years of age, 4 feet 9 inches hign, dark hair, no whiskers or moustache, and stout built ; dressed in black and white plaid trousers, patched at the knee and behind, dark tweed vest, and black cloth cap. Information at County Police Office, Old Trafford, Manchester.— Bow- st., December 10. Absconded, charged with stealing £ 15 : a clerk, 32 years of age, complexion, hair, whiskers ( slight) and moustache fair; dressed in short dark coat, dark trousers, deerstalker hat.— Metropolitan Police, C Division, December 10. Absconded on 3rd instant, charged with stealing £ 15 : a man, 20 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, fair complexion, hair parted in centre, slight moustache ; dressed in blue serge suit, dark overcoat, deerstalker hat; wears a silver snake ling.— Metropolitan Police, li Division, December 10. Absconded on 3rd instant, embezzling £ 7 2s. 4d. : a carman, 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, sallow com- plexion, moustache ( slight), hair, and eyes brown, sleepy looking ; dressed in blue frock coat, brown trousers, billycock hat; has been a s ® ldier.— Metropolitan Police, M Division, December 10. Stolen on 5th instant: a silver Geneva Watch ; 2 keeper Rings, stamped' 18 carat'; a brown Overcoat, plaid lining, velvet collar, two pockets on hips, one left breast; a black cloth frock Coat; a pair of black cloth Trousers and Vest; 2 pairs of Boots, one men's lace, one lady's side- spring; a lady's black cloth Jacket; a dark green silk Skirt; a grey silk Skirt; and a lady's grey Ulster. By a woman, about 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fair complexion, light brown hair ( turning grey), slight build; dress, jacket, and bonnet black. Speaks with an Irish accent.— Metropolitan Police, R Divisions, December 10. Charged at Blyth, Northumberland, with larceny of a Bed Rug and cotton Sheet, rug recovered, between 17th aud 21st ultimo : JOHN HOWARD, alias HOWETT, about 40 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, slender make, fair complexion, small thin face, small twisted nose, brown hair, worn long and curled up at ends, bald on top of head, strong moustache, cheeks shaved, bv trade a painter, very talkative, much addicted to drink, belongs to Scarborough, Yorkshire ; dressed in a black coat and vest, black and white checked trousers, much worn, grey cloth double- peaked cap. He may go to Driffield. Information to Inspector Rutherford, Blyth, or Mr. Superintendent Young, Morpeth, Northumberland.— Bon- street, December 10. Charged with stealing a quantity of new Brussels Carpet, best quality, value £ 30, on 20thultimo : —. NEWTON, about 70 years of age, medium height, grey hair, splay footed'; was wearing a light grey waterproof cloak, silk handkerchief round neck, black cloth boots, patent lerther toecaps, stoops a little, of lady- like appearance, and speaks well with Yorkshire accent; was accompanied by a man who she represented as her son, 24 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fair com- plexion, dark brovs n hair, small moustache, slight whiskers, shaves on chin; wore a kng brown overcoat, violet muffler, and black billycock ha+-; of respectable appearance. The woman ordered the Carpets and had them sent to a respectable house, which she stated had just been let toher, and next day left the city, taking the Carpets with her. Information to Head Constable, Coventry, who holds a warrant to appre- hend her.— Bow- street, December 10. Description of ABRAHAM WALTERS, of Nassington, Northamptonshire, who absconded from March, Isle of Ely, on 2nd instant, charged with stealing an Overcoat ( recovered): about 30 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, fair com- plexion, brown hair, and small whiskers ; has been a fireman on the G. E. Railway. Information to Mr. Superintendent Burrows, March, Isle of Ely, Cambs, who holds a warrant for his arrest.— Bow- street, December 10. Stolen on 26th ultimo, from the White Hart Inn, Wad- hurst, Sussex, a dark grey check Vest, rather large pattern, single- breasted; and a pair of dark brown cloth Trousers, man's size, and flap fronts. Supposed by a man who lodged at the house for the night, about 25 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, fair| complexion, has a muscular twitching of eye- brows, light hair, a few light whiskers, and a slight figure ; dressed in a dark brown jacket, dark trousers, bard round hat, and light boots. Stated he was a grocer's assistant out of employment. Has been convicted at Cuckfield and Horsham of larceny. Information to Mr. Superintendent Peerless, Uckfield, Sussex.— Bow- street, December 10. Stolen on 2nd instant, at St. Albau's : a lady's black leather Bag, with white motal clasp; and a 12- keyed Accordian, the keys are the ssme as on'a concertinia, and the two bass keys are brass, and a pieca of thin wood on the bottom painted blue, with the number oi notes on. By a tramping painter, who stated he came from Bedford, about 37 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, long sandy whiskers and moustache ; dressed in a dark grey suit, and hard felt hat. Information to Mr. Superintendent Pike, City Police Office, St. Alban's, Hertfordshire.— Bow- street, December 8.
