No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. As the Law ( 48 Geo. 3, c. 140, s. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hue- and- Cry. DUBLIN, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 1879. DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE. G Division. PARTICULARS relative to Convict. John Nelson, 241- 2675, convicted at Belfast, borough of Belfast, at Borough Sessions, on 1st December, 1873, for breaking into a counting- house with intent to steal, and two previous convictions for felony, and sentenced to 7 years penal servitude and 3 years Police Supervision:— 21 years of age on conviction, can read and write, is an Episcopalian, single, a labourer, born in Holy wood, county Down, resided before conviction in Agnes- street, Belfast, where his friends reside, brown hair, gray eyes, dark brown eyebrows, regular nose, large mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 4^ inches high, J. N. tattooed on left forearm. This convict was released on licence from Lusk Prison, the 23rd June, 1879, and went to Belfast. He has failed to report himself to the Royal Irish Constabulary since the Ist inst., aud his present whereabouts are unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under the 5th section of the Act 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. General Prisons Board, November 27, 1879. ( 17818 m.— 29798.) PARTICULARS relative to Convict John Kelly, 319- 14245, convicted at Ennis, county Clare, at Michael- mas Sessions on 27th October, 1874, for burglary, and sentenced to 10 years penal servitude:— 30 years of age on conviction, can read and write, is a Roman Catholic, single, born in Athlone, resident before conviction in Limerick, where his friends reside ; brown hair, bald on crown, hazel eyes, dark eyebrows, prominent nose, medium mouth, fresh complexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 4 inches high ; lost five upper and two lowei teeth. This convict was released on licence from Spike Island Prison, the 14th November, 1879, and went to reside in Dublin, on the 19th inst. he left his residence, 7, Bull- lane, without notifying same to Police, and his present whereabouts are unknowD. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under the 5th sec. of the Act 34 & 35 Vic., cap. 112. General Prisons Board, November 24, 1879. ( 17792 M.— 29748). PARTICULARS relative to Convict John Purcell, 273- 2719, convicted at Dublin, county of the city of Dublin, at Trinity Sessions, on 8th June, 1875, for larceny, and sentenced to 5 years penal servitude :— 23 years of age on conviction, can read and right, is a Roman Catholic, married, is a slater, born in Denzille- street, Dublin, resided before conviction in Church- street, Dublin, his wife resides at 33, Church- street, Dublin; black hair, brown eyes, black eyebrows, ordinary nose ( has been broken,) medium mouth, sallow complexion, pockpitted, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 4 J inches high: scar on bridge of nose, left side of head, back of head, and under right eye; E. F. A. L. C., and some dots tattooed on back of left hand; I. anchor and dots on left wrist anchor on thumb. , This convict was released on licence from Lusk Prison, the 7th August, 1879, and went to reside at 1, Sandwith- lane, Dublin, on the 5th inst., he notified his intention of geing to Liverpool, but be has not reported himself to the Police here, and his present whereabouts are unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under the 5th section of the Act 34 and 35 Vic. cap. 112. General Prisons Board, November 24, 1879. ( 17792 M.— 29T48 ) DESCRIPTION of the undermentioned, who are wanted for having uttered a large number of forged National Bank notes for £ 10 each, in Dublin, on 18th ultimo:— 1. Thomas Green, alias Harrington, about 32 years old, 5 feet 6 inches high, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, scar on forehead, mole on right chest, lost a bottom tooth, right middle finger deformed; was convioted of horse- stealing at Guild- ford, Surrey, February, 1874, sentenced to 5 years penal servitude, and released on licence from Mill- bank, February, 1878. 2. Name unknown, about 40 years old, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches bigh, very stout build, dark hair, black moustache and side whiskers, chin shaved. 3. Name unknown, about 36 years old, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, black moustache, jaws and chin shaved, erect military gait, and gentlemanly manner. All three represented themselves as horse- dealers, were comfortably dressed, spoke with strong English accent, had no luggage but a black Gladstone bag, they obtained nearly £ 900, chiefly in Irish bank notes. D., on the night of the 18th or morning of 19th November, 1879 :— A gelding ass, black colour, mark of old sore on breast from the collar, white belly, 7 years old, and unshod ; value for £ l. DESCRIPTION of Robert O'Connell ( mother's sur- name Coleman), native of Cork city, who stands charged with having, on the 1st day of November, 1879, in the barony of Barrymore, parish of Carrig- toohill, stolen a horse the property of John Moore, of Ballintubbrid, having falsely represented that he was sent by a gentleman to purchase the horse, and when trying his action as a saddle horse, rode away with him :— Smart active make, military gait, and has now the appearance of a horse- trainer, hazel or blue eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a round low black hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; has been in the army and discharged for bad conduct. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Ward, native of Portumna, who stands charged with having, on the 21ht Nov- ember, ls- 79, iu the barony of loughrea, parith of Loughrea, escaped from the Loughrea Bridewell, where he was confined on remand, charged with assaulting a gamekeeper at Portumna: — Walks very erect, active appearance, very small whiskers and moustache, fresh cut ou nose; gray eyes, thin nose, fair complexion, thiu face, slight make, 5 feet 54 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a blue serge uniform coat and trowsers, no vest, black straw or chip hat; the uniform was that of the King's County Militia, to which he belongs; is a poacher aud rag gatherer. DESCRIPTION of Michael Keelan ( mother's surname M'Kittrick), native of Liverpool, and Patrick M'Kittrick ( mother's surname Keelan), na ive of Corduff, county Monaghan, who stand charged with having, on the 16th of Uctobe", 1879, iu the barony of Farney, parish of Magheross, seriously assaulted Festus Finnegan :— 1. Michael Keelan— Healthy, good- looking fellow when clean, but supposed to be generally black from working at coal ; < ray eyes, reguhr nose, fair complexion, round face, medium make, about 5 feet 7 inches high, about 28 or 80 years of age, dark hair; wore a round hat, black j - cket. Supposed to be in Liverpool. 2. Patrick M'Kittrick— Good- looking, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, fresh face, medium mike, about 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, about 20 years of age, dark or brown hair; clothes cannot be described; he is a carpenter's apprentice. DESCRIPTION of Jeremiah Dempsy ( mother's surname Dwyer), native of Cormackstown, who stands charged with having, on the Jst November, 1879, in the barony of Eliogarty, parish of Thurles, assaulted William Maher, by striking him on the head, thereby knocking him down:— Large hollow on right cheek from an old cut, swaggering gait, elbows raised when walking, speaks quick, with slight impediment in his speech, wild brown eyes, thick nose, pale complexion, full face, medium make, 6 feet fr^ inches bigh, about 29 years of age, dark brown hair. wore a low jerjy hat, dark cloth coat, dark tweed trowsers and vesi; is a mason. DESCRIPTION of two persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on tne night of lOih and morning of llt. h November, 1879, iii the barony of Eliogarty, parishes of Thurles and Ballycahill, vis'ted the houses of several farmers in this and Templemore district, cautioned them to pay no rent over Griffith's valuation, and that if they did they would be visited again ; the party fired shots when leaving the yards of two of the tenants :— 1. Unknown — Gentlemanly appearance, good ad- dress, shaves nil his iace, 6 feet 10 or 11 inches bigh, about 30 years of age ; wore a gray twted cap with two peaks, short gray tweed coat, gray tweed trows- ers. 2. Unknown 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, about 28 years ol age; wore a tweed coat, trowsers, and vest. Thurles, November 12, 18/ 9. ( 24429 o.— 42012). DESCRIPTION of John Ryan, name supposed fictitious, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 1st November, inst., in the barony of Glenahiry, parish of Carrigroe, stolen a double- barrel gun, which has about one inch cut off the muzzle, sight removed back and splinter raised off stock:— First joint of foje finger of right hand off, large white wild- looking eyes, long thin nose, very black complexion, thin face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 36 years of age, very black hair; wore a soft hat, dark coat, cord trowsers, dark vest; supposed to be a tramp. DESCRIPTION of two persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the evening of 10th November, inst., in the barony of Farbill, parish of Killucan, entered the houses of Thomas Keegan and Pat Leavy, of Balrown Paken- ham, and Michael Lynam, of Porterstown Cooke, and warned them not to pay any rent, firing shots:— 1.
