All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry, are to he transmitted under cover addressed to the Inspector- General of Constabulary. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. As the Law ( 48 Geo. 3, c. 140, s. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hue- and- Cry. DESCRIPTION of the undermentioned, who are wanted for having uttered a large number of forged National Bank notes for £ 10 each, in Dublin, on 18th ultimo :— 1. Thomas Green, alias Harrington, about 82 years old, 5 feet 6 inches high, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, scar on forehead, mole on right chest, lost a bottom tooth, right middle finger deformed; was convicted of horse- stealing at Guild- ford, Surrey, February, 1874, sentenced to 5 years penal servitude, and released on licence from Mill- bank, February, 1878. 3. Name unknown, about 40 years old, 5 feet 6 or 7 inchest high, very stout build, dark hair, black moustache and side whiskers, chin shaved. 3. Name unknown, about 36 years old, 6 feet 10 or 11 inches high, black moustache, jaws and chin shaved, erect military gait, and gentlemanly manner. All three represented themselves as horse- dealers, were comfortably dressed, spoke vrtih strong English accent, had no luggage but a black Gladstone bag, they obtained nearly £ 900, chiefly in Irish bank notes. DESCRIPTION of Robert O'Connell ( mother's sur- name Coleman), native of Cork city, who stands charged with having, on the 1st day of November, 1879, in the barony of Barrymore, parish of Carrig- toohill, stolen a horse the property of John Moore, of Ballintubbrid, having falsely represented that he was sent by a gentleman to purchase the horse, and when trying his action as a saddle horse, rode away with him :— Smart active make, military gait, and has now the appearance of a horse- trainer, hazel or blue eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 leet 9 inches high, about 22 years ol age, dark brown hair; wore a round low black hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; has been in the army and discharged for bad conduct. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Murphy, native of Kilcas- kin North, who stands charged with having, on the 15th day of October, 1879, in ihe barony of Dunhal- low, parish of Castlemagner, obtained £ 20, by false pretences, from W. F. S. Barry, Esq., J. P. :— Remark- ably stout, square shoulders, walks erect, heavy gait, gray eyes, regular r ose, pale complexion, round full face, 6 feet high, about 40 years of age, light brown hair, small dark whiskers in line with ears, but be- lieved now to be shaved off; wore a jerry hat, whitish tweed frock coat, corduroy trowsers, tweed vest, high- low boots ; is a farmer. ' DESCRIPTION of a person, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 27th October, 1879, in the barony of Duhallow, parish of Clonfert, coined one sixpenny- piece, and obtained the sum of £ 3 2s. 9d from Patrick Lehane, by false pretences on 28th October, 1879:— Lame of left leg, which is short; walks with a stick; pock- marked; supposed pearl on one eye; blue mark on right wrist; dark brown eye » , long drooped nose, fresh complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 50 years of age, dark hair and sandy whiskers; wore a blue frieze coat with brass buttons, light cord trowsers, double- breasted vest of brown or gray frieze, with two rows of white studs; supposed to be a tinker. DESCRIPTION of cattle seized under a Civil Bill decree, and given in charge to Daniel Gallagher, Hotel- keeper, which were stolen from his out- bouse in Falcarragh, parish of Tullaghabegley, barony of Kilmacrenan, on morning of 11th November, 1879 : 1. A dark brown bullock, 1 year old; value for £ 1 10 « . 2. A brown and white heifer, 2 years old; value for £ 4 5s. 3. A yellow heifer, 2 years old; value for £ 4 5*. Dunfanaghy, Nov. 18, 1879. DESCRIPTION of Manus Murray ( mother's surname M'Garvy), native of Barnes Upper, who stands charged with having, on the 25th October, 1879, in the barony of Kilmacrenan, parish of Kilmacrenan, seriously assaulted Denis Murray by striking him with a spade on the head, from the effects of which blow he died on 30th October:— Light bair on upper lip and chin; never shaved-,** blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, flat face, stout make, 6 feet inches high, about 20 years of age, dark brown hair ; wore a black cap, gray frieze coat, cord trowsers, gray vest; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of a milch cow, the property of Thomas Elliott, of Mullaghbane, parish of Killesher, barony of Glenawley, and county of Fermanagh, which was stolen out of his field at Mullaghbane, on the night of 14th or morning of 15th November, 1879, viz.:— A red cow, hornsslightly curved, 6 years old, yielding milk, in good condition, the only whi e spot on the cow is near the udder; value for £ 11 or £ 13. DESCRIPTION of James Walsh, native place un- known, who stan Is charged with having on the 19th Octobi r, 1879, in tbe barony of Glenawley, parish of Cle i ish, stolen three calves, the property of Elizabeth Rutledge, and who has been committed for trial to Quarter Sessions:— Knees slightly bent inwards, teeth bad, two upper front teeth broken, a deep pock- mark on left cheek, a few dark hairs on right cheek, growing on a mole, large blue eyes, straight nose, pale complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 7£ inches high, about 21 years of age, fair hair; wore a cloth cap with peak, brown tweed frock coat, moleskin trowsers, tweed vest, a large muffler round neck, belt round waist; is a tramp. DESCRIPTION of Daniel O'Sullivan, native of Batterfield, who stands charged wiih having, on the 27th February, l » 79, and 20th May, 1879, in the barony of Trughenackmy, parish of Tralee, forged the mark of liryaa Connor, to bills of £ 7 10 « . and £ 8 10*. respectively, on tne Munster Bank of Tralee, and which were discounted, and which by information of 18 th September, last, were not authorized by the said Bryan Connor:— Stooped about the shoulders, awkward gait, and appears thoughtful- looking and keeps his liuid down } brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 6 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, brown hair, dark whiskers turning gray, shaved the chin only; wore a black soft, jerry hat, dark frieze coat, dark tweed trowsers, tweed vest; is a farmer. DESCRIPTION of Peter William Daveis, alias Darkie, native of Manchester, England, who stands charged with having, on the 16tli day of October, 1879, in the barony of East Offaly, parish oi Ballysax, absconded, taking with him a gold watch and gold Albert chain, the property of M. Ryan :— Dark eyes, rather big nose, yellow complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 3 inches high, about 25 years of age, dark hair ; wore a black low round hard hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; attends on jockeys at races. DESCRIPTION of a gold watch and gold Albert chain, the property of Michael Ryan, which were stolen from the stand- house, Curragh, parish of Bally sax, barony of East Offaly, on the 16th October, 1879, by Peter William Daveis, alias Darkie, viz. :— 1. A gold lever watch, open face, jewelled in 6 holes, a small mark at or near the key- hole caused by a fall; " M. Ryan " engraved on back, maker's name, O'Hanlon; value for about £ 25. This watch at the time it was taken was out of repair. 2. A gold Albert chain, short link pattern, part of a watch- key attached to chain in place of locket; value for about £ 5. Unknown— Stout make, 5 feet 6 to 8 inches high, about 80 years of age; wore a short coat. 2. Unknown— Stout make, 5 feet 4 to 6 inches higb, about 17 or 18 years of age ; wore a cap. DESCRIPTION of two persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on tine night of 10th and morning of 11th November, OI879, in the barony of Eliogarty, parishes of Thurles and Ballycahill, visited the houses of several farmers £ 1 this and Templemore district, cautioned them to pay no rent over Griffith's valuation, and that if they did Ihey would be visited again ; the party fired shots when leaving the yards of two of the tenants :— 1. Unknown— Gentlemanly appearance, good ad- dress, shaves all his face, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, about 80 years of age; wore a gray tweed cap with two peaks, short gray tweed coat, gray tweed trowsers. 3. DESCRIPTION of James M'Elroy, ( mother's surname Gormley), native of Lisgurran, who stands charged with having on the 13th or 14tH June, 1879, at Ballywholan, in the barony of Clogher, parish of Clogher, stolen four head of cattle, the property of Catherine M'Elroy, the description of which appeared in Hue and- Cry of 24th June, 1879:— Black eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, round full face, very stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 23 years of age, dark hair; wore a low black hat, dark tweed suit, with white spots in tho coat; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of John Ryan, name supposed fictitious, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 1st November, inst., in the barony of Glenahiry, paiish of Carrigroe, stolen a double- barrel gun, which has about one inch cut off the muzzle, tight removed back and splinter raised off stock:— First joint of lore finger of right hand off, large white wild- looking eyes, long thin nose, very black complexion, thin face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 36 years of age, very black hair; wore a soft hat, dark coat, cord trowsers, dark vest; supposed to be a tramp. DESCRIPTION of two persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the evening of 10th November, inst., in the barony of Farbill, parish of Killucan, entered the houses of Thomas Keegan and Pat Leavy, of Balrown Paken- ham, and Michael Lynam, of Porterstown Cooke, and warned them not to pay any rent, firing shots s— 1. Unknown— Dark complexion, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, black hair, large black whiskers, probably false; wore a gray cap, black coat. 2.
