Stolen from the person at Bingham en 6th instant: a large gold English Lever Watch, No. 2290, maker ' Sach, London,' has a white dial, minute hand broken off, case engraved on back with flowers, & c. Information to Mr. Superintendent Somerset, County Police Station, Bingham, Nottinghamshire.— Pow- street, November 10. dark grey Horse, 13^ hands high, long mane and tail; a dark green Van, red wheels, picked out with black ; a set of brass mounted Harness, bridle silver mounted ; a black woollen Horse Bug, and fibre Nosebag. By two gipsies, cue 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, dark complexion and hair, no whiskers, or moustache ; dressed in dark striped suit, hard felt hat. The other, 35. years of ago, £> feet 6 inches high, fair complexion, hair, and whiskers, shaved chin, large and., prominent eyes ; dressed in old light suit, soft felt hat, heavy lace boots.— Metropolitan Police, N Division, November 10. INFO KM ATI ONS. MURDEE AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING. Charged with Murder between Spalding and Pinchbeck, on morning of 9th instant: HENRY HOWITT, otherwise HARRY, 22 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, light auburn rather curly hair, slight whiskers and moustache, very prominent roman nose, slim built; dressed in moleskin trousers, dark cloth pea jacket, round cap with peak, may be wearing a hat, strong laced up boots, has been working a threshing machine, his clothes are very dirty, he enlisted at Spalding in the Militia a few days ago, supposed to blind of right eye. And JACK, full name not at present known, 18 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, black hair, very slight moustache, stout build ; dressed in old dark suit, cloth, cap with peak, may be wearing a hat, and strong laced up boots, lias been working with a threshing machine. Either may be wearing a suit or part of a suit of black cloth clothes, nearly- new, which, with money have been stolen. Information to Mr. Superintendent Leaper, Spalding, Lincolnshire.— Bow- street, November 12. Description of THOMAS JONES, native of Fron- Cysyllty, Llangollen, charged with manslaughter, on 24th ultimo : 24 years of age, 5 feet 6J inches high, dark brown hair and moustache, hazel eyes, round face, wide nostrils, thick lips, prominent forehead, slight cut second joint second finger left hand, proportionate build, woiks as a labourer in coal pits ; dressed when last seen in a brown cloth coat, with pockets outside, black cloth trousers and vest, black jitnerow hat, and militia boots. Information to Chief Constable Leadbetter, or to Deputy Chief Constable Wilde, Wrexham, Denbighshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, November 10. FORGERY. Description of WILLIAM COOK, late of the firm of Wilde and Cook, coach builders, of Birmingham, charged on a warrant with obtaining from Mr. Isaac Cohen, Monetary Agent, various sums of money by means of forged bills of exchange : he is about 40 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches high, dark complexion, pale bloated face, caused by excessive drinking, sttuk eyes, dark beard, whiskers, and moustache, ( which may be shaved oil'), his hands show signs of recent hard work at his trade ; dressed in dark long overcoat, and hard felt hat, his friends reside in Yorkshire, where he has been visiting, since leaving Birmingham. £ 10 reward is effered by Mr. Cohen for his apprehension. Information to Chief Superintendent Bond, Police Office, Birmingham, . who holds the warrant for his arrest. — Bow- street, November 14. BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. Stolen on Vtli instant by means of housebreaking: a brown cloth tweed Coat and Vest, man's size, a little faded ; a pocket Knife, with with Penknife in yellow wooden haft; a Razor, with large blade, the haft a yellowish eolour ; and a farriers lancet, with three blades. Supposed by two tramps, one about 30 years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches high, dark hair aud whiskers ; dressed in dark clothes and cap. The other about 25 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, dark hair and whiskers, kept very short; dressed in dark clothes, aud hard felt hat. Information to Police Constable Williams, Llanfyllin, or to Mr. Superintendent Ellis, Welshpool, Montgomeryshire/— Bow street, November 12. Between 9 p. m. 8th, and 6a. m. 9th instant, the dwelling- house of Isaac Mason, iron worker,. Wood- street, Ettingshall, was entered, and stolen therein : a blue cloth Coat, only one button on the front, two pockets behind and one iuside breast pocket ; a black rough cloth' Overcoat, to suit a boy 6 years of age, with belt round waist, and one pocket on each hip; a black cloth Cap with peak, alt much worn. Information to Sergeant Ellis, Police Office, Coseley, or to Chief - Superinten- dent Longcien, Bilaton, Stafford shire.— Bo"- street, November 10. The dwelling- house of Maria Chapman, at Binbrook, was burglariously entered about 2 a. m. on 8th instant, and forty Sovereigns and about 5 lb. weight of Bacon stolen therefrom : by two men, dresseel in dark clothes, and wearing masks they had a dark lantern with them. Information to Mr. Superintendent Henson, Market Rases, Lincolnshire.— Bow- street, November 10. During the night of 6th instant, the workshop of Alfred Wild, a tanner, at Mile End, Rickmansworth, was broken into, and stolen therein : a dark grey Overcoat, black velvet collar, with makers name on collar, ' A. M. Kino, 87, Regent- street'; a blue serge Coat and Waistcoat; a brown Coat and Waistcoat, the latter very old, lining stitched up at the back, right hand pocket gone ; a pair of black tweed Trousers, with tau stains ; a pair of black Trousers, with a band on the top ; a white Smock ; a blue serge Apron, with ' A. Wild' marked in red cotton on the string ; 2 black great Coats, with tails ; 2 pairs of watertight leather Boots. Information to Mr. Superintendent Isgate, Watford, Herts.— Bow- street, Nov. 10. Stolen by means of housebreaking, between 5th and 7th instant, at Birchfield, Handsworth, 12 silver Foiks, 10 plated ditto, 9 plated Dessert ditto, plain ; 9 plateil Dessert Spoons, 9 plated Dessert Knives, 6 plated Table Knives, 1 metal Table Spoons, and a metal Soup Iiadle, all part worn. Information to Mr. Superintendent Whitehurst, Westbrom- wich, or to Inspector Evans, Haudsworth, Staffordshire. — Bow- street, November 10. LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT. Stolen from a dwelling- house in Bolton, on 12th instant ; two Pictures in yellow frames, representing two Old Castles, painted on glass ; also two Pictures iu narrow gilt frames, one representing a Woman striking at an Eagle with a Sickle, tho other represents a Man lowering himself down a Rock to a Nest of Young Eagles ;. also a mahogany swing Looking- glass, about 1 foot by 9 inches. By a man who lodged at the- houso, about 20 yeara of age, 5 feet 1 OF 2 inches high, mode- rate build, dark complexion and hair, burn mark on neck, and one arm crippled from being burnt; dressed in black cloth coat, old dark mixture cloth trousers, dark cap, light mulller round his neck, and clogs. He sometimes hawks pots, tins, carpeting, & e., and is supposed to have gone to Blackburn or Rochdale. Information to Chief Constable Holgate, Bolton, Lancashire.— Bow- street, November 11. Stolen since 3rd instant: a pair of men's browa cloth Trousers, fly fronts, without linings, pocket at side and brass buttons, seam on one hip unstitched about 2 inches, stripes down side of leg ; also a pair of men's black cloth Trousers, fly fronts, without linings, pockets at side, and black iron buttons, both in good condition. Also a youths brown, grey, and red mixture cloth Waistcoat, brown buttons, single- breasted ; a woman's black silk Skirt, black binder, fastens with hooks, pocket in cross piece on front, nearly new. Suspicion attached to an Irishwoman, abcat 37 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, fresh complexion, long features, sandy hair ; dressed in paisley shawl, black bonnet with one or two red roses in it, blacK dress with tlouuee, and elastic- side boots. There are other charges of felony against her. Information to Chief Constable Holgate, Bolton, Lancashire.— Bow- streel, November 14. Between 5 p. m. 5th, and 6 a. m. 6th instant, the Office at the Mitchell's Main Colliery, Wombwell, was broken open and stolen therein : Stamps and Money to the amount of £ 6 8s. 8d. also 5 or 6 bottles of Brandy, labelled ' James Fox, Queens Hotel, Barnsley,' aud a dark blue monkey Jacket, double breasted, and lined with plaid flannel. Information to Mr. Superintendent Sykes, Barnsley.— Bow- street, November 10 ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PERSON. Stolen from the person, with violence, at Preston, about 12 midnight on 8th instant, by two men who can be identified : an English silver lever Watch, No. 41249, maker's name ' James Green, Preston,' on dial and movements, crystal bazel, extra jewelled, quite new, value £ 5 10s. Information to Head Constable Oglethorpe, Preston, Lancashire.— Bow- 1 November 14. Stolen from the person, on 10th instant: a silver lever Watch, No. 41875, maker ' S. Greenhough, Bolton.' Infor- mation to Chief Constable Holgate, Bolton, Lancashire.— Bow- street, November 14. Stolen from the person at Hedon Statute Hirings, on 12th instant, a silver lever Watch, engine- turned case, white dial, gold hands, and minute hand, likewise, No. 4138. In- formation to Mr. Superintendent Burniston, East Riding of Yorkshire, Sproatley, Hull.— Bow- street, November 14. . Stolen on 8th instant, from the person at Shepton HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING. HENRY BOULTWOOD, of Wormley West End, a ticket- of- leave man, charged on warrant with stealing Sheep on 23rd September last, and advertised in the Police Gazette on 3rd October, was arrested at Woolwich on 7th instant, and is remanded at the Cheshunt Petty Sessions unt. il 19th instant. Information to Mr. Superintendent Bygrave, Ware, Herts.— Bow- street, November 14. Stolen from a fold at Addington, Kent, during the night of 9th instant : a Kent ewe teg Sheep, which was slaughtered, the skin and entrails being left, near the fold. Information to Mr. Superintendent Hulse, Police Station, West Mailing, Kent.— Bow- street, November 14. Stolen from a field at Beech Hill, Berks, during the night of 6th instant : a brown cob Gelding, 4 years old, 14 hands high, has the letter ' A..' cut on its back on the near side; also a chestnut cob Gelding, 4 years old, 14 hands high, also with the letter ' A.' on near side, and both in good con- dition. Information to Inspector Pocock, County Police Station, Reading, Berks.— Bow- streit, November 14. Slaughtered in a field at Wood End, Wednesfield : a Lamb, Body and Head stolen, skin, three feet, and entrails left behind. Information to Chief Superintendent Longden, Bilston, or to Sergeant Wright, New Cross, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, November 12. Stolen on 3rd instant, from Crescent- road, Woodford : a Description of WILLIAM WESTLEY, book- keeper, who has absconded, charged with embezzling £ 4 8'., the monies of his employer, at Matlock Bridge : he is 26 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, pale, very dark hair, little whisker, moustache, and a small imperial; generally wears a silk hat and a light- coloured overcoat, and carries an umbrella; is a native of Birmingham, where his father now resides, and is cabinet a maker. Information to Mr. Superin- tendent Sharpe, Wirksworth, Derbyshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehenheiision, or to Sergeant Watts, Matlock Btidge.— Bow- street, November 14. Absconded from Cirencester, on 8th instant, charged on a warrant with an offence under the bailee Act: GEORGE FREDERICK ROOKE, clock and watch maker, about 35 or 40 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, black hair aud whiskers worn rather long, sall » w complexion, pockmarked, strong build, and inclined to be corpulent ; dressed when last seen in a high box hat, and very dark mixture suit of clothes. He is very fond of music, can play a violin, flute, concertina, and harp, the latter instrument he took with him. Infor- mation to Mr. Superintendent Wood, Cirencester, Gloucester- shire.— Bow- street, November 14. Charged on warraut in Sheffield with stealing Brass : CORNELIUS WILKS, fireman, or puddler, about" 26 years of age, 5 feef 7 inches high, slender ImilJ, dark complexion, dark hair, aud moustache, and may be wearing whiskers, front teeth project, blue mark corner of left eye, and several scars over left eye. Information to Chief Constable Jackson, Sheffield.— Bow- street, November 14. Stolen at Snodland, Kent, on the morning of 11th instant : an open- face silver lever Waltham Watch, No. 1186199. By a man who lodged at the house one night, on 10th instant, about 23 years of age, 5 feet 6 o,- 7 inches high, small dark whiskers and moustache ; dressed in a dark plaid suit, hard felt hat, lace- up boots, is a painter. He offered the watch to pledge at two places in Chatham, on 11th iustant. Informa- tion to Mr. Superiutendent Hulse, Police Station, West Mailing, Kent.— Bow- street, November 14. Absconded from Yattendon, on 7th ultimo, charged on a warrant with stealing an old fashioned silver Watch, No. 3358, maker W. Brown, Loudon, and steel Chain attached : JAMES TURNER, a labourer, of Goring, Oxon, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, sandy hair, no whiskers, and beard at that time about a weeks growth ; dressed in dirty cord jacket, clean worsted cord waistcoat aud trousers, and billycock hat, walks very splay footed. The waistcoat and trousers which he is wearing are also stolen from Pangbourne, uear Reading. Information to Mr. Super- intendent Bennett, Berks Constabulary, Newbury, who holds the warrant.— Bow- street, November 12. Absconded from Warrington ou 7th instant, having embezzled £ 8 8s. the property of the Loudon and North Western Railway Insurance Society ( Locomotive Branch) : ERWIN FLYNN, time keeper, 24 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, dark complexion, dark hair, hazel eyes, no moustache, small whiskers, was a cornet player in the Rifle Volunteer Band of " Warrington, has been at sea about 2J- years, was employed for a'short time as booking clerk - at Crewe Railway Station, and afterwards transferred to Warrington. Information to Chief Constable Hunt, Sessions House, Warrington.— Bow- street, November 12. Absconded from Dunstable, charged on warrant with stealing on 4th ultimo : a riding Saddle ( recovered), and a Bridle : FREDERICK DEACON, 29 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, fair complexion and hair, small moustache, whiskers shaved off; has served in the A Battery, A Brigade Royal Horse Artillery, at Aldershot, will probably re- enlist, has been traced to London. Information to Head Constable George, Dunstable, Beds, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bru- street, November 12. Absconded on 27th ultimo, from Overseal, near Ashby- de- la- Zouch, charged with embezelliiig £ 4, the moneys of his masters, the London and North Western Railway Company : WILLIAM MOON, clerk, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, dark hair . and eyes, small dark whiskers down each side of face, and slight dark moustache, and walks erect ; dressed when last seen in black coat and vest, light tweed trousers, black billy hat with low flat crown, and lace up boots, with patch oil the side of one of them, is a native of Bagworth, Leicestershire. Information to Inspector Brewitt, Ashby- de- la- Zoucb, who holds a warrant for his apprehension. — Bow- street, November 12. Stolen on 27th ultimo, at Eastbourne, Sussex : a boy's cloth Overcoat, recovered. By a man about 30 years of age, about 5 feet 3 inches high, light complexion, light brown hair, and few light whiskers, had the appearance of a tramp ; dressed in dirty tweed suit, and black hard felt hat, can be identified. Information to Mr. Superintendent Newnham, ' East Sussex Constabulary, Eastbourne.— Bow- street, Nov. 10. Absconded from Ely, on 3rd instant, charged with steal iug 2 pairs of Boots from the ' Crown' beer- house, where they had lodged two nights: DAVID LAYTON, native of Wicken, Cambs, labourer, about 36 years of age, 5 feet inches high, dark hair and complexion; dressed in soft billycock, woollen jacket, fustian trousers, and stolen boots. And ROBERT WALTERS, a tramp, 18 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, light hair, hazel eyes, fresh face ; dressed in dark cloth cap, cord jacket and trousers, and lace- up boots. One pair of boots was nearly new, size 9, whole tongues, lace- up, heavily nailed vrith square heads in soles, clinkers in toes, and plates on heels, the other pair lace- up, half worp, and have been worn by a bricklayer, one marked with lime. Information to Deputy Chief Constable Smith, Ely, Camb3, who holds warrants for their arrest.— Bow- st., November 10. i Absconded on 27th ultimo, charged on a warrant with embezzlement: JAMES POCOCK, lately resided with his brother, who is a milkman, at 9, John- street, Liverpool- road, 20 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, ruddy complexion, small brown moustache, no whiskers, walks badly from weakness in his knees, holds his head down when walking ; generally dressed in brown check suit, and morning coat. Information to Inspector McWilliam, City of London Police, Detective Department, 26, Old Jewry, E. C.— Bow- street, November 10. INFORMATIONS, Committed for 6 weeks hard labour, at Kendal, on 8th instant, on a charge of frequenting the fair for the purpose of committing a felony : . JOHN ROY, about 24 years of age, says he is a plumber and gas- fitter, from 39 or 49, Tobago- street, Calton, Glasgow, 5 feet 6i inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, . grey eyes, pockmarked, not deeply, large abscess marks right side of neck and jaw ; dressed in brown striped coat and vest, check tweed trousers, long light grey overcoat, and black billycock hat. FREDERICK ALBERT, says he is a general daaler, from 14, High- street, Bristol, about 21 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, fresh complexion, very light brown hair, light moustache, long hook nose, good lookiug, has an impediment in his speech ; dressed in black ribbed - coat and vest, brown striped trousers, brown tweed overcoat, and brown billycock hat. THOMAS BROWN, about 17 years of age, 5 feet 1 iuch high, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes ; says he is a jockey, from 32 or 36, Thomas- street, Newcastle- on- Tyne ; dressed in a dark tweed suit, black cloth overcoat, and black billycock hat. JOHN MARTIN, says he is a tailor, from London, but when arrested he stated he was a butcher, fiom Carlisle, from 40 to 45 years of age, 5 feet ! i inches high, pale complexion, brown hair, slightly turning- grey, hazel eyes, either was or pretended to be slightly dull of hearing; dressed in grey- tweed coat and vest, brown cloth trousers, dark cloth over- coat, soft black billycock hat. JOHN WELCH, sajejbe is a painter from Belfast, about 25 years of age, 5 feet 4£ inches high, fresh complexion, light brown hair, light moustache, whiskers on chin end, blue eye?, very slightly pockpitted, lower right eyelid cut, and let down a little ; dressed in brown tweed suit, black ribbed overcoat, hard black billycock hat, and of very respectable appearance. JOHN VINCENT, says lie is a jeweller from Canada, travelling for the good of his health, aud resides in London, about 50 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, brown hair turning grey, sallow complexion, hazel eyes, dark moustache, stoutish aud'well built man, several scars on forehead, and scar ou knuckle middle finger of right hand ; dressed in black ribbed cloth suit, black cloth, overcoat, and high top hat. In his possession wei- e found two Drafts on the London Bank of Mexico and South America ( Limited), one for £ 6, the other £ 4, payable to Mary Ann Smith, dated November, 1875, and ou a piece of paper ' 2, Pratt, Fleet- street,' and some French Stamps. And GEORGE SPENCER, says he lives at Leicester, is a slipper maker, about 25 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, grey eyes, slightly pockpitted, large scar on top of right eyebrow, thick lips, and coarse features ; dressed in grey Melton suit, raised seams, brown ribbed overcoat, and black billycock hat ; said he was a horse jobber, and worked for Geo. Palmer, horse- dealer; Leicester, information to the Chief Constable, Borough Police Office, Kendal, Westmoreland.— Bow- st., Nov. 14. Description of JOHN SMITH, labourer, native of Manchester, committed to Kendal Gaol for 21 days under the Vagrant Act, on 11th instant, 44 years of age, 5 feet 4| inches high, grey eyes, dark brown hair, swarthy complexion, little finger of left hand crooked ; dressed in grey coat, dark mix- ture tweed trousers and vest, and black billycock hat. He recently resided for a few weeks at a common lodging- house, Botchergate, Carlisle. Information to Chief Constable Wilkinson, Town Hall, Kendall.— Bow- street, November 14. Description of HARRY ALLPORT, of Aston, near Birmingham, photographer, remanded to the Cambridge Borough Petty Sessions on 18thinstant, charged with stealing a Portmanteau and Contents from the Great Northern Rail- way Station at Cambridge : he is 20 years of age, 5 feet inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, very weak, n. o eyelashes, thin oval face, has a scar in left groin ; dressed in black felt hat, dark brown ribbed single- breasted coat, pockets at sides, left breast, and inside right breast, single- breasted vest, same material, brown mixture trousers, low shoes, and check shirt. Information to Chief Superin- tendent Turrall, Cambridge.— Bow- street, November 14. Description of WILLIAM HILL, a discharged soldier from the life Guards, committed to Warwick Prison for two months on a charge of larceny : 33 years of age, 6 feet high, brown hair, hazel eyes, round full face, proportionaie build, erect, and of smart appearance ; dressed in grey tweed jacket and vest, grey check trousers, hard black billycock hat, and white mufiler. In his possession, when apprehended, were found a double- breasted black cloth Vest, white calico lining, black satin jean back, very large size; 2 Shoe Brushes, one hard, one polishing, of good quality, and nearly new ; and a brown calico Sheet, seam down the centre, small size, almost new. Supposed to have been stolen. Information to Deputy Chief Constable Jervis, Shipston- on- Stour, Warwick- shire.— Bow- street, November 14.
