Description of THOMAS JONES, native of From Cysyllty, Llangollen, charged with manslaughter, on 24th ultimo : 24 years of age, 5 feet 61 inches high, dark brown hair and moustache, hazel eyes, round face, wide nostrils, thick lips, prominent forehead, [-. light cut second joint second finger left hand, proportionate build, works aaa labourer in coal pits ; dressed when hist seen in a brown cloth coat, with pockets outside, black cloth trousers and vest, black jimcrow hat, and. militia boots. ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PERSON. Stolen from the person at Bingham on Cth instant: a laro- e gold English Lever Watch, No. 2290, maker ' Sach, London,' has a white dial, minute hand broken off, engraved on back with flowers, & c. Information to Mr. Superintendent Somerset, County Police Station, Bingham. Nottinghamshire.— Bow- street, November 10. Stolen from the person on the night of 30tli ultimo : a lady's gold Geneva Watch, small size, plain cases, with shield on back of outer cases, had attached a 9 carat gold Albert Guard, square links, with a compass for appendage. Stolen from the person on the night of 1st instant : a gold Albert Watch' Guard, with blue or black stone for appendage. Stolen from the person on 3rd instant: a silver Geneva Watch, medium size, has ou tho dial ' Exhibition Prize Medal.' Information to I lead Constable Oglethorpe, Borough Police, Preston.— Bow- street, November 7. Stolen at the Bingham Cattle Show, on 24th ultimo, from the person : a gold stop Watch, with second finger, No. 5005, maker Jellings. Information to Mr. Superintendent Somerset, County Police Station, Bingham, Notts.— Bow- street, Nov. 7. Stolen from the person, in Bolton, on the night of 31st ultimo: a gold lever centre seconds stop Watch, No. 11829, no maker's name, and white dial. Had attached a 9- carat gold albert Chain, curb pattern ; also a Locket, made to hold six photographs. £ 2 reward will bo paid by the owner for such information as will lead to the apprehension and con- viction of the offender or offenders, and recovery of the property, or in proportion thereof. Stolen from the person on 27th ultimo, in Guildford : a, . silver Hunting Watch, maker ' Sellar, Marketplace, Reading,' ' J. W.' on outside case. Information to Mr. Superintendent Law, Borough Police, Guildford, Surrey.— Bow- street, Oct. 5. During the night of 6th instant, the workshop of Alfred Wild, a tanner, at Mile End, Rickmansworth, was broken into, and stolen therein : a dark grey Overcoat, black velvet collar, with makers name on collar, ' A. M. Kino, 87, Regent- street'; a blue serge Coat and Waistcoat; a brown Coat and Waistcoat, the latter very old, lining stitched up at the baek, right hand pocket gone ; a pair of black tweed Trousers, with tan stains ; a pair of black Trousers, with a band ou the top ; a white Smock; a blue serge Apron, with ' A. Wild' marked in red cotton on the string ; 2 black great Coats, with tails ; 2 pairs of watertight leather Boots. Information to Mr. Superintendent Isgate, Watford, Herts.— Bow- street, Nov. 10. Stolen by means of housebreaking, between - 5th and 7th instant, at Birchfield, Handsworth, 12 silver Forks, 10 plated ditto, 9 plated Dessert ditto, plaiu ; 9 plated Dessert Spoons, 9 plated Dessert Knives, 6 plated Table Knives, i metal Table Spoons, and a metal Soup Ladle, all part worn. Information to Mr. Superintendent Whitehurst, Westbrom- wich, or to Inspector Evans, Haudsworth, Staffordshire.— — Bow- street, November 10. Between 5 p. m. 5th, and 6 a. m. 6th instant, the Office at the Mitchell's Main Colliery, Wombwell, was broken open and stolen therein : Stamps and Money to the amount of £ 6 8s. 8d. also 5 or 6 bottles of Brandy, labelled ' James Fox, Queens Hotel, Barnsley,' and a dark blue monkey Jacket, double breasted, and lined with plaid flauuel. Information to Mr. Superintendent Sykes, Barnsley.— Bow- street, November 10 Description of JOHN JAMES PEARCE, charged on warrant with burglariously entering the York Hotel, Chel- tenham, on 28th ultimo, and stealing from the till a quantity of Silver and Coppers, also Cigars, and two pairs of Boots ( one pair since recovered) : he is about 21 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, thin build, no whiskers, or moustache, pimples on face, and fresh complexion; dressed when last seen iu bowler hat, dark ribbed coat, three buttons on it. light dirty trousers, and light muffler, with flags of all nations on it; he is a chimney sweep, and may probably seek employ- ment as such. Stolen on 28th ultimo : a pair of boy's lace- up Boots, plain, two hooks at the top, and iron heel plates. Also stolen on 31st ultimo : 2 women's working Aprons, large size, one marked ' A. L.' in red letters, both iu good condition, vtdue 3s. Also stolen on lst instant: about 15 yards of grey Holland ; a woman's grey felt Skirt, trimmed either with blue or peach. Also stolen between 5 p. m. on lst and 0' 30 a. m. on 3rd instant : 2 bricklayer's Trowels, one has worn hollow at the side, eud of handle rough, the other has a narrow straight blade, turned up a little at the side, and very thin handle ; 1 bricklayer's Hammer, longhead and short handle, turned up a little at one side of head ; 1 bricklayer's Hammer, short head and long shaft; 2 stonemason's Hammers, two- faced, about 6 lbs. weight each, one marked ' II. H.' on one side of head, and the other ' R. D.' cut with a chisel; 1 mason's Trowel, handle split on one side, blade in good condition, 1H.' marked on handle near blade ; 1 mason's Punch, marked ' W.'-; 3 stonemason's hammer- headed incii Chisels, one not marked, other two marked ' W.'; 1 pitching Tool or Chisel, marked ' O.' BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. Between 9 pan. 8th, and 6a. m. 9th instant, the dwelling- bouse of Isaac Mason, iron worker, Wood- street, Ettingshall, was entered, and stolen therein : a blue cloth Coat, only one button on the front., two pockets behind and one inside breast pocket; a black rough clyth Overcoat, to suit a boy 6 years of age, with belt round waist, and one pocket on each hip; a black cloth Cap with peak, all much worn. Information to Sergeant Ellis, Police Office, Coseley, or to Chief Superinten- dent Longden, Bilston, Staffordshire.— Bo '"- street, November 10. The dwelling- house of Maria Chapman, at Binbrook, was burglariously entered about 2 a. m. on 8th iustaut, and forty Sovereigns and about 5 lb. weight of Bacon stolen therefrom • by two men, dressed in dark clothes, and wearing masks they had a. dark lantern with them. Charged, at Hexham, with feloniously breaking and entering a warehouse on or about 2ud instant, at St. Johnlee, and stealing therefrom 36 cotton Sheets : JAMES MOODY, native of Hexham, about 26 years of age, about 5 feet 5 inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair xnd moustache, whiskers shaved off, proportionate make ; dressed in grey clothes. JAMES EDGAR, native of Hexham, about 24 or 25 years of age, about 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, dark short moustache, proportionate make; dressed in dark or black clothes. Information to Chief Constable Allgood, or to Mr. Super- intendent Stephenson, Constabulary Office, Hexham, who holds a warrant for their apprehension.— Bom street, Nov. 5. Stolen by means of burglary, at Broughton, Salford, on 31st ultimo : a gold Pencil- case ; silver watch Guard, long old link pattern ; pair of gold Solitaires, one a little loose, having lost its straight piece which goes into the bottom part; a lady's long gold Chain, link pattern, stamped on swivel 9 carat, had attached a small gold plated Ring; a lady's 9 carat gold Necklet, link pattern, gold snap, links rather thin, had attached an oval- shaped gold plated Locket, one side plain, the other has four small dots near centre, contained photos of lady and gentleman ; a gold Albert Guard, curb pattern, stamped 9 carat on each link, had attached an oval- shaped gold Locket, chased - with flowers, small space plain neat- centre, contained four ^ photos of males and females ; a lady's gold dress Riug, square top, set with four pearls and ruby in centre ; pair of gold Ear- drops, 15 carat, shape and size of a sovereign, set with brilliants, concave back ; three gold Studs, 15 carat, set with blue stones, aud four gold points at the edge ; a set of gold sleeve Links and Studs, set with coral centres ; a gold scarf Pin, set with upright coral hand, holding a brilliant; a gold scarf Pin, set with a diamond or brilliant; a gentleman's gold scarf Ring,- with silver star and patent fastener; a gold Tooth- pick, rouud; a gentleman's gold dress Bifig, set with large white stone, far worn, and HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING. Stolen on 3rd instant, from Crescent- road, Woodford : a dark grey Horse, 134 hands high, long mane and tail; a dar'. c green Van, red wheels, picked out with black ; a set of brass mounted Harness, bridle silver mounted ; a black woollen Horse Rug, and fibre Nosebag. By two gipsies, cne 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, dark complexion and hair, no whiskers, or moustache ; dressed in dark striped suit, hard felt hat. The other, 35 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fair complexion, hair, and whiskers, shaved chin, large and prominent eyes ; dressed in old light suit, soft felt hat, heavy lace boots.— Metropolitan Police, N Division, November 10. Found at Kineton, Warwick, on 2Ctli ultimo : a half- bred black Horse, aged, 1(> hands high, lam in off hind leg, has white star centre of forehead, white hind fetlocks, aud is low j, i condition. Information to Deputy Chief Constable Jervin, Shipston- on- Stour, Warwickshire.— Bow- street, Nov. 7. On 18tli ultimo, six. black faced South Down Lambs, marked on near side with a large ' D,' were stolen from the farm of Mr. Eli Davis, of Park Altwood, Kidderminster Foreign. They were sold in Woicester Market on the Monday following, by a man, from 20 to 25 years of age, about 5 feet 9 or 10 iuches high, no whisk, rs or hair on face, slender make, dark brown hair and eyes, one inflamed from a cold or blow ; had the appearance of a you > g farmer ; dressed iu dark brown overcoat, dark jacket, vest, breeches and tigh., fitting leggings, all steel grey or pepper aud salt salt material, and hard deerstalker hM;. ( since recovered) : he is about 26 years oi age, 5 feet 8 or 9 iuches high, slight build, dark brown hair, grey eyes, sallow complexion, and has an awkward slouehy walk ; dressed in old dark mixture cloth trousers, vest, and coat, with pockets ou hips, all very ragged, old black bowler hat, aud old laco boots very much worn. He is likely to seek work at farmers, or drive horses at a colliery. Information to Mr. Superin- tendent Critchley, Sodbury, or to Sergeant Sim, Hawkes- bury Station, near Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire, who- holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, Nov. 5. Stolen from a field at Stratton St. Margaret, during the night of the lst instant, a mare Donkey, coming 3 years old, never been shod, has a wart near the anus. Information to Superintendent North, Wilts Constabulary, Swindon.— Bens- street, November 5. LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT. Stolen on 27th ultimo, at Eastbourne, Sussex : a boy's cloth Overcoat, recovered. By a man about 30 years of age,- about 5 feet 3 inches high, light complexion, light brown hair, and few light whiskers, had the appearance of a. tramp ; dressed in dirty tweed suit, and black hard felt hat, can be identified. L formation to Mr. Superintendent Newnham, East Sussex Constabulary, Eastbourne.— Bow- street, Nov. 10. Absconded from Ely, on 3rd instant, charged with steal- ing 2 pairs of Boots from the ' Crown' beer- house, where they had lodged two nights: DAVID LAYTON, native of Wicken, Cambs, labourer, about 36 years of age, 5 feet 5- j inches high, dark hair and complexion; dressed in soft billycock, woollen jacket, fustian trousers, and stolen boots. And ROBERT WALTERS, a tramp, 18 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, light hair, hazel eyes, fresh face ; dressed in dark cloth cap, cord jacket and trousers, and lace- up boots. One pair of boots was nearly new, size 9, whole tongues, lace- up, heavily nailed vith square heads in soles, clinkers iu toes, aud plates ou heels, the other pair lace- up, half worn, and have been worn by a bricklayer, one marked with lime. Information to Deputy Chief Constable Smith, Ely, Cambs, who holds warrants for their arrest.— Bow- st., November 10. Absconded on 27th ultimo, charged on a warrant with embezzlement : JAMES POCOCK, lately resided with his brother, who is a milkman, at 9, John- street, Liverpool- road, 20 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, ruddy complexion, small brown moustache, no whiskers, walks badly from weakness in his knees, holds his head down when walking ; generally dressed iu brown check suit, and morning coat. Information to Inspector McWilliam, City of London Police, Detective Department, 26, Old Jewry, E. C.— Bow- street, November 10. Absconded on 13t instant, f rom Long Marston, charged with larceny : THOMAS HOPKINS, 30 years of age, about 6 feet 1 iuch high, fan- complexion, brown hair, light brown moustache, whiskers shaved off ; dressed when absconded in a long dark top coat, supposed pockets ou hips, light brown tweed jacket and vest, light tweed trousers, a pair of short cashmere leggings over his trousers, old lace- up boots, and soft helmet cap. Information to Mr. Superintendent Matthews, Campden, Gloucestershire, or to Sergeant Whitman, Long Marston, who holds a warrant for his appre- hension.— Bow- street, November 7. Description of WILLIAM STACEY, late station master at Swauley Junction Station, Loudon, Chatham, and Dover Railway, charged on warrant with embezzlement: ho is about 48 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, rather sandy hair and whiskers, upper lip and chin shaved, flat footed ; dressed in dark coat and vest, tweed trousers, lace- up boots, black bowler hat, carried a brown waterproof coat; has been in the company's service 16 years, was previously a constable in Woolwich Arsenal, is a native of near Bridge- water, Somersetshire. Information to Mr. Superintendent Fread, Kent Constabulary, Dartford.— Bow- street, Nov. 7. Stolen from private lodgings in Hitchin, on 3rd instant: two Watches. By a man who obtained the lodgings by false representations : 25 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, tliin build, dark complexion, no whiskers, blotched or pimpled face, scar on inside of right thumb ; dressed in dark clothes, high hat, low shoes, has some old coins in his possession, one having indecent words on it; he pawned one of the watches at Bedford ; the other is a silver hunting double- ease Watch, some writing on the first inner case ; he also had an open silver Watch. Information to Inspector Young, Hitchin, Herts.— Bow- street, November7. Stolen on 28th ultimo, at 3, Church- street, the property of Mr. Cressingham : a black satin Skirt, 1 Cameo Brooch set in jet, a small silver Brooch, 13 yards of black striped Alpaca, a calico Night Dress, a flannel Petticoat, H yard of grey Alpaca, and li yard of blue Silk, a String Bag, and about or £ 10 in Money. By a woman who has lived in the house, ELIZABETH PARK, 19 years of age, rather short, fair complexion ; had on a green dress, trimmed with green silk, black silk jacket, with deep fringe puffed round with lace, black fur round her neck, a French lace bonnet, with red flower [ on top, and low shoes. Information to Chief Superintendent Glenister, Town Hall, Hastings, - Sussex, who holds a warrant for her apprehension.— Bow- street, Noi. 7, Stolen on lst instant, from a dwelling house at Lockhills, near Armathwaite, Cumberland : a pair of nearly new water- tight Boots, man's size, plates on heels and toes, three rows of sparables in sides of soles, two rows of sparables forming a sort of half moon in centre of soles, leather eyelet holes, and the four top eyelet holes in each boot had never been laced up. By two tramps, one about 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, dark complexion, dark hair, tuft of hair on chin, and proportionate figure; dressed in dark coat, with two buttons behind, cord trousers, white muffler, hard felt liat, and bad shoes ; the other about 24 or 25 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 ins. hie- h. fair complexion, fair hair, and proportionate man to a firm of wood merchants, in Arbroath; he is also wanted on two charges of frau- d, committed at Letham, Dunnichew, Forfarshire. Warrant issued. — Metropolitan Police, T Division, November 7. figure ; dressed in ligbt tweed jacket, moleskin trousers, grey cap, and supposed the stolen boots. Information to Mr. Superintendent Fowler, Penrith, or at the County Chief Con- stable's Office, Carlisle, Cumberland.— Bow- street, Nov. 7. Stolen in Chester on lst instant, a heavy fetter- link pattern gold Albert Guard : by a German, 23 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, dark eyes, sallow complexion, dark hair, slight moustache, small whiskers, below the ear ; dressed in a dark tweed coat and vest, light trousers, and shoes goloslied with blue cloth, speaks broken English. Information to the Chief Constable, Town Hall, Chester.— Bow- street, Nov. 7. Description of WILLIAM CLEAR, charged on warrant with stealing £ 18, belonging to his master : he is 20 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, fair complexion, light brown hair, full hazel eyes, small scar from cut on back of left hand, hotel porter. Information to Chief Constable Barnden, Brighton, & ussex..-~; Bowetreet, November 7. Changed on warrant with stealing £ 30 : JOSEPH ILLINGWORTH, a book- keeper, 44 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, ginger hair and whiskers, supposed grey eyes, stout build, very red face, has the appearance of a man who drinks freely ; dressed in grey mixture suit, and hard black billycock hat. Information at Superintendent's Office, Dews- bury, Yorkshire.- Bow- street, November 5. Stolen from Heath Town on 3rd instant: 2 Blanket* imparted, with blue or black stripe across each end, and 2 iron mould marks near centre, part worn ; supposed by a woman, who was hawking small pictures near the place, and was seen carrying a blanket on her arm near to where they were stolen. Information to Mr. Superintendent Longdon, Bilston, or to Sergeant Wright, New Cross, Staffordshire.— Bow- strcet, November 5. Stolen at Dee- side Farm, Lealand, during afternoon of 3rd instant: a black cloth Frock Coat, dark lining, cloth buttons, pockets at side; a dark cloth double- breasted Vest, lined with calico ; a pair of dark plaid Trousers, fill fronts, steel buttons, ' T. Knight' stamped on lining ; a frieze Coat, lined white flannel on shoulders ; a blue Neck- tie and check Shirt. Also the same afternoon, from a neighbouring farm : a pan- of tweed Trousers, with fall fronts, bone butters ; a double breasted ditto Vest, bone buttons; a pair of man's light lace- up Boots, brass eyelet holes; a pair of Stockings; and a single- breasted cloth Vest, bound with black braid. ' Supposed by three men, who were seen the same afternoon iu the neighbourhood and - who stated they were colliers : two of them appeared to be about 26 or 27 years of age, stout built, sandy liair aud whiskers all rouiid their faces ; dressed in light clothes and white billycock hats; the other about 30 years of age, slender built, and dressed in dark clothes and black soft hat. Information to Dep. Chief Constable Adams, Mold, or to Sergeant Lockwocd, Hawarden, Flintshire — Bow- street, November 5. Absconded charged with being concerned with another man in custody for larceny: CHARLES GRIFFIN, ostler, 21 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, hair and eyes light, tooth deficient in front of upper jaw; dress, blue frock coat and vest, cord trousers, lace boots, hard hitter cap, supposed visiting fairs with a steam roundabout. Warrant issued. — Metropolitan Police, S Division, November 5. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATIONS, In custody, charged with burglary, at Hednesford, on 5th instant : WILLIAM HARRISON, no fixed residence, a tramping engineman, 64 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, dark complexion, brown hair, whiskers all round face, turning grey, no moustache, grey eyes, proportionate build, cut on centre of nose end, also on left side of bottom lip, burn mark on muscle of left arm, native of Pendlebury, near Manchester; dressed in old double- breasted tweed jacket, double- breasted cloth vest, old dirty moleskin trousers, black billycock hat, and old low shoes. He is also charged with stealing carpenter's Tools, from Stafford, on 3rd instant. Information to Mr. Superintendent Hackney, Brownhills, near Walsall, or to Sergeant Brooks, Hednesford, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, November 10. Remanded to Brownhills, till 13th instant, on a charge of felony : FREDERICK SHOOTER, 34 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stout build, fresh complexion, full face, dark hazel eyes, dark brown hair, no whiskers, thick sandy moustache, cut on left cheek and left side, of forehead, scar left side of neck, hair scanty on front part of head. THOMAS SMITH, 19 years of age, 5 feet 3J inches high, slender build, fresh complexion, ligbt hazel eyes, brown hair, small mole on right cheek, boil marks back of neck.
