An enamalled and painted Brooch, 2 inches square, fine gold, enamelled green leaves. A set Indian Brooch and Ear- rings, heads, hand painted. 6 old fashioned fine gold pearl Brooches. Wright, High East- street, Dorchester, was entered, and the following property stolen therein ; about £ 4 worth of postage Stamps, £ 4 in Silver with a little Gold tied up in a linen bag, £ 3 in Coppers, and 4s. to 5s. in threepenny and fourpenny Pieces. ( since recovered) : he is about 26 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, slight build, dark brown hair, grey eyes, sallow complexion, and has an awkward slouchy walk ; dressed in old dark mixture cloth trousers, vest, and coat, with pockets on hips, all very ragged, old black bowler hat, and old lace boots very much worn. Stolen from a field at Stratton St. Margaret, during the night of the 1st instant, a mare Donkey, coming 3 years old, never been shod, has a wart near the anus. Information to Superintendent North, Wilts Constabulary, Swindon.— Bow- November 5. The Horse stolen from Spald wick and advertised in Police Gazette of 27th ultimo, has been recoveied, and the thief HENRY PARNNABY, alias BBADFORD BARNEY, a racing thief, remanded until 8th instant: he is 19 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, blue eyes, brown hair, fresh complexion, whiskers shaved off, carried his head and neck forward ; dressed in a round hard felt hat, dark brown plaid suit, and lace- up boots. Information to Deputy Chief Constable Marson, Huntingdon.— Bow- street, November 3. Further information respecting the Horse stolen from Godalming, Surrey, and advertised in the Police Gazette of 24th ultimo: a warrant is still out for the apprehension of FRANCIS MARTIN, license holder No. 523, who is now supposed to be undergoing imprisonment for some offence committed in the country. Information to Deputy Chief Con- stable Barker, Surrey Constabulary, Guildford.— Bow- street, October 31. Remanded for 8 days, charged with stealing a Horse ( recovered), at Fairfield, Buxton, on 28th instant: JOHN" WARD, lab'cfjr'c* r, 45 ye'ars of age, 5 fe'et 7* totes high, black hair « rev eyes, sallow complexion, whiskers round face, third finger left ' hand deformed. States he is a native of Bilston, Staffordshire, that of late he has worked in Kent, Birmingham, and also in North Wales. Information to Mr. Superinten- dent Hallam, County Police Office, Chapel- en- le- Fnth, Derby- shire.— Bow- st., Oct. 31. LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT. JOHN BIRKITT advertised in the Police Gazette of 24th September last has been apprehended, and committed for three months hard labour in H. M. Prison at Hull. — Bow- street, November 5. Cha/ ged on warrant with stealing £ 30 : JOSEPH ILLINGWORTH, a book- keeper, 44 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, ginger hair and whiskers, supposed grey eyes, stout build, very red face, has the appearance of a man who drinks freely ; dressed in grey mixture suit, and hard black billycock hat. Information at Superintendent's Office, Dews- bury, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, November 5. Stolen from Heath Town on 3rd instant : 2 Blankets uuparted, with blue or black stripe across each end, and 2 iron mould marks near centre, part worn ; supposed by a woman, who was hawking small pictures near the place, and was seen carrying a blanket on her arm near to where they were stolen. Information to Mr. Superintendent Longdon, Bilston, or to Sergeant Wright, New Cross, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, November 5. Stolen at Dee- side Farm, Lealand, during afternoon of 3rd instant: a black cloth Frock Coat, dark lining, cloth buttons, pockets at side; a dark cloth double- breasted Vest, lined with calico ; a pair of dark plaid Trousers, fill fronts, steel buttons, ' T. Knight' stamped on lining; a frieze Coat, lined white flannel on shoulders ; a blue Neck- tie and check Shirt. Also the same afternoon, from a neighbouring farm : a pair of tweed Trousers, with fall fronts, bone buttons ; a double- breasted ditto Vest, bone buttons; a pair of man's light lace- up Boots, brass eyelet holes; a pair of Stockings ; and a single- breasted cloth Vest, bound with black braid. Supposed by three men, who were seen the same afternoon in the neighbourhood and who stated they were colliers : two of them appeared to be about 26 or 27 years of age, stout built, sandy hair and whiskers all round their . faces; dressed in light clothes and white billycock hats; the other about 30 years of age, slender built, and dressed in dark clothes and black soft hat. Warrant issued. — Metropolitan Police, S Division, November 5. Absconded from the Essex Industrial School, Chelmsford, on 30th ultimo : GEORGE LONG, an apprentice, nearly 18 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, freckled complexion, robust figure, brown hair ; supposed to be wearing sailor's guernsey or white slop, cord or tweed trousers, lace boots, Scotch cap, shirt and other clothing was marked with school stamp and figures ' 15'; he is intelligent and a good worker, understands draining and garden work : he is charged with stealing a pair of Trousers; a pair of Boots ; a Shirt; a Cap; and a pair of Socks, together value 18s.; the property cf the managers of the Essex Industrial School at Chelmsford. In- formation to Mr. Superintendent Lennon, Constabulary Office, Chelmsford, Essex, who holds a warrant for his appre- hension.— Bow- street, November 5. Description of EDWIN ROUND, county court bailiff, who absconded from Longton, on 27th ultimo, charged with larceny as bailee of £ 25 : he is 35 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, fresh complexion, sandy hair, thin whiskers and moustache, grey eyes, medium build, long thin roman ncse. Has a wife and three children, has two or three suits of different coloured clothing with him, has been in the Army, and about 4 years since held the situation of porter in Walsall Workhouse. Stolen about 11' 30 a. m. on 30th ultimo, at Reading, ( under pretence of taking furnished apartments) : a lady s gold Geneva Watch, No, 7317— 22629, engine- turned cases, with long gold neck Chain, with Seal, Key, and Locket attached, with likeness of a young man therein ; a gold dress Ring, with rubies and pearls, in shape of a star; a pearl Ring, with two rubies and garnet; a small gold Ring, with green stone; a small gold Ring, with red stone and two pearls; a small gold Ring, with red stone ; a small gold Locket with Chain ; a leather Purse, containing Silver, Coppers, and weighing machine Ticket therein. By a man about 30 years of age, fresh complexion, with dark brown heavy moustache ( which may be false); dressed in dark over- coat, dark hard felt hat, and dark green gloves ; had the appearance of a commercial traveller. Information to Chief Superintendent Purchase, Borough Police Station, Reading, Berks.— Brno- street, November 3. Absconded from Buxted, Sussex, on 29th ultimo, charged with Stealing £ 7 ill Gold, and 3s. in Silver ; a silver Geneva Watch, open face, No. 20346; and a lady's black alpaca Umbrella, with a white crinkley ivory handle : a girl, about 17 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, fair complexion, dark eyes aud hair, turns her toes out when walking, has scars on back of little fingers from burns ; dressed in deep mourning, aud was wearing a dark ulster, with dark buttons down the front and back, lace- up boots, and had a large bundle tied up in a blue check packing handkerchief. Is likely to be found in the neighbourhood of Aldershot or Shorncliffe. Information to Mr. Superintendent Peerless, Uckfield, Sussex.— Bow- street, November 3. Stolen from an outbuilding at Cwmbychanbach- Darowen, on the night of the 30th ultimo : a man's moleskin Monkey Jacket, nearly new, yellow bone buttons ; a man's duck ditto, yellow bone buttons ; aud a duck Vest, white bone buttons ; the property of Richard Davies. A tramp, who had been working there in the harvest, is suspected ; he is a native of near Newtown, about 40 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, sandy hair and whiskers ( all round his face); dressed in hard felt hat, white slop, old black vest, woollen cord trousers much too large for him, has cord tied round his legs to keep his trousers up. Information to the Chief Constable Danily, Newtown, or to P. C. Humphreys, Cemmes, Mont- gomeryshire.— Bow- street, November 3. Absconded, charged on warrant with stealing a quantity of wearing Apparel and a Box ( recovered), from Duryard- farm, Upton Pyne, Devon, on 21st September last: MARY ANN MEARS, native of Thorverton, Devon, servant, 18 years of age, 5 feet high, fair complexion, light hair, blue eyes, cut mark on right forefinger, very full at bosoms; dressed in a bUck cloth jacket, with packets behind, black dress, white straw hat, faced with black velvet and blue ribbons, lace- up boots. She obtains situations by forged characters, remains a short time, and decamps by night. Associates with prostituted- Supposed gone to Plymouth Information to the Deputy Chief Constable of Devon, Exeter, who holds a warrant for her apprehension.— Bow- street, November 3. Charged on warrant with stealing from the fish wharf at Yarmouth: a large quantity of fresh Herrings : FREDK. METCALF, about 35 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, brown hair, moustache, and imperial, has upper front tooth out; dressed when last seen in brown Cardigan Jacket, black trousers, and hard felt hat; he is well known at South Shields, Newcastle- on- Tyne, Berwick, Hull, and Billingsgate. Information to Chief Constable Ogden, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, who holds the warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, November 2.
