PARTICULARS relative to English licence- holder John Higgins ( z. 802), com'cwd in India by Court Martial, on the 29th October, 1873, for drunkenness and insubordination and sentenced to 7 years penal servitude :— 25 years of age on conviction, singlet is a soldier, born at Belfast, resided in India with his regiment before conviction; brown hair, blue eyes, fresh complexion, 5 feet 6J inches high; scar on throat, D on left side, and two scars on centre of back. This convict was discharged from Portsmouth Convict Prison, on the 12th May, 1879, and went to roside at Belfast; he left his residence at Belfast without notifying same to the B. I. Constabulary, and his present whereabouts are unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under the 5th section of the Act 34 and 85 Vic. cap. 112. PARTICULARS relative to licence- holder John Larkin, 227- 14313, convicted in Dublin City, at Recorder's Court, on 9th June, 187K, for larceny,' and sentenced to 5 years penal servitude :— 20 years of age on conviction, can read and write, a Roman Catholic, single, a labourer, born in Dublin, resided before conviction in Bolton- street, Dublin, his friends reside at Rathmines, county Dublin ; dark brown hair, gray eye ( left eye blind), dark brown eye- brows, regular nose, small mouth, fair complexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 3| inches high; is marked with anchor back of left hand, and cross on back of right, bracelet on left wrist, heart on left fore- arm, and J. on same arm, ring on second left finger, scar on left eyelid, on each eyebrow, and on forehead over left . temple. This convict was discharged from Lusk Prison, 7th June, 1879, and went to reside in Dublin. He left No. 8, Lurgan- street, Dublin, his last place of residence, without notifying same to the Metropolitan Police, and his present whereabouts are unknown. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Loid Lieutenant, that, about the hour of 9.80 o'clock on the morning of Tuesday, the 2nd day of April, 1878, William Sydney, Earl of Leitrim, John W. Macken or Meekan, and Charles Buchanan, were brutally murdered at Cratlagh Wood, about three miles from Millford, in the county of Donegal, by some persons unknown: His Grace, for the better apprehending and bring- ing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE THOUSAND POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the persons who committed the same, or any of them. And His Grace is also pleased to offer FREE PARDON to any person concerned in or privy to the said murder, other than the persons who actually com- mitted the same, in case of his giving such information as will lead to the conviction of the persons, or any of them, concerned in the murder aforesaid. Peel, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Letterkenny, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of Manus Murray ( mother's surname M'Garvy), native of Barnes Upper, who stands charged with having, on the 25tli October, 1879, in the barony of Kilmacrenan, parish of Kilmacrenan, seriously assaulted Denis Murray by striking him with a spade on the head, from the effects of which blow his life is in danger:— Light hair on upper lip and chin; never shaved; blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, flat face, stout make, 5 feet 5^ inches high, about 20 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a black cap, gray frieze coat, cord trowsere, gray vest; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of Joseph Beatty alias Michael Deignam, native of Tullamore, who was arrested on the 29ih October 1879, in the barony of Magonihy, parish of Killarney, on suspicion of being Pierce Damer, described ia Hue- and- Cry under " Kildare," and who is suspected of having commit ted crime else- where t— Dark gray eyes, long nose pointed and timed to left at end, dark complexion, long face, slight make, 6 feet 6 inches high, about 30 yews of age, dark brown hair, small black moustache, no whiskers , wore a round black hat, tweeil coat, trowsers and vest, and old highlow boots. Served in the Roscommon Militia under the name of Michael Deignam; is a tramp, a shoemaker, and sings on the streets. Is remanded. DESCRIPTION of Daniel O'Sullivan, native of Batterfjeld, who stands charged with having, on the 27th February, 1879, and 26th May, 1879, in the barony of Trughenackmy, parish of Tralee, forged the mark of Bryan Connor, to bills of £ 7 10s. and £ 8 10s. respectively, on the Munster Bank of Tralee, and which were discounted, and which by information of 18th September, last, were not authorized by the said Bryan Connor:— Stnoped about the shoulders, awkward gait, and appears thoughtful- looking and keeps his head down ; brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, bro- vn hair, dark whiskers turning gray, shaved the chin only; wore a black soft jerry hat, dark frieze coat, dark tweed trowsers, tweed vest; is a farmer. DUBLIN CASTLE, 23rd October, 1870, WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that on the 30th September, 1879, Mr. John Sydney Smith and his son Mr. Sydney Edward Smith, when returning from Ballycroy, were fired at, at Claggan Mountain, about half- way between the former place and Mulranny, by four met, of whom three escaped, and one, Thomas Howard, was shot dead by Mr. Sydney Edward Smith: His Grace, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such informati > n as shall lead to the conviction of any of the parsons who committed the same; and a further reward of TWO HUNDRED POUNDS for such private information as may lead to the same result. DESCRIPTION of a person, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 26th day of September, 1879, at Shegoragh, in the barony of Boyle, parish of Boyle, visited the houses of Thomas M'Grath and John M'Donough, at night, armed with a gun, for the purpose of intimidating certain persons:— Dark complexion, face almost covered with black hair, probably false, large stout make, 6 feet high, 40 years of agef dark hair, tall silk hat, dark cloth coat, trowsers, and vest; suspected agent of an illegal society, going about intimidating persons obnoxious to members of the society, armed with a gun, and wore a cape like a policeman's, a belt, and ammunition pouches, and a gold watch chain; looks like a policeman in plain clothes, or drilled man.
