PARTICULARS relative to English licence- holder John Higgins ( z. 802), convicted in Iadia by Court Martial, on the 29th October, 1878, for drunkenness and insubordination and sentenced to 7 years penal servitude :— 25 years of age on conviction, single, is a soldier, born at Belfast, resided in India with his regiment before conviction; brown hair, blue eyes, fresh complexion, 5 feet inches high; scar on throat, D on left side, and two scars on centre of back. This convict was discharged from Portsmouth Convict Prison, on the 12th May, 1879, and went to roside at Belfast; he left hi « residence at Belfast without notifying same to the B. 1. Constabulary, and his present whereabouts are uuknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under the 6th section of the Act 34 and 85 Vic. cap. 112. PARTICULABS relative to licence- holder John Larkin, 227- 14318, convicted in Dublin City, at Recorder's Court, on 9th June, 1875, for larceny, aad sentenced to 5 years penal servitude :— 20 years of age on conviction, can read and write, a Roman Catholic, single, a labourer, bora in Dublin, resided before conviction in Bolton- street, Dublin, his friends reside at Rathmines, county Dublin; dark brown hair, gray eye ( left eye blind), dark brown eye- brows, regular nose, small mouth, fair complexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet inches high; is marked with anchor back of left hand, and cross on back of right, bracelet on left wrist, heart on left fore- arm, and J. on same arm, ring on second left finger, scar on left eyelid, on each eyebrow, and on forehead over left temple. This convict was discharged from Lusk Prison, 7th June, 1879, and went to reside in Dublin. He left No. 8, Lurgan- street, Dublin, his last place of residence, without notifying sqme to the Metropolitan Police, and his present whereabouts are unknown. Glenwherry, and townland of Skerrywherry, fired at Thomas, George, and James Tippin, gamekeepers to Victor Coates, Esq., wounding George Tippin, with shot in fifteen places. They were armed with two guts, a double and single barrel, and had a grey- hound, of a dun and white colour, with black muzzle, and had their faces blackened:— 1. DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on Monday, the 20th October, 1879, absconded from the St. Patrick's Reformatory School at Upton, Co. Cork:— Michael Brien, No. 956, 14 years of age, 4 feet 9J inches high, slight make, fresh complexion, brown hair, gray eyes, regular nose, medium mouth, oval visage ; warts on both hands ; formerly belonged to Carrigtohill, co. Cork, where his parents reside. The school dress consists of corduroy trowsers and sleeved corduroy waistcoat; drab tunic with leather belt; blue striped shirt, all with Reformatory stamp; Glengarry cap; nailed boots, fastened with leather straps. Has been only three weeks in the School. Kept bad company previous to his being sent to the School. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expense of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. October 23, 1879. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, about the hour of 9.30 o'clock on the morning of Tuesday, the 2nd day ol April, 1878, William Sydney, Earl of Leitrim, John W. Macken or Meekan, and Charles Buchanan, were brutally murdered at Cratlagh Wood, about three miles from Millford, in the county of Donegal, by some persons unknown: His Grace, for the better apprehending and bring- ing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward ol ONE THOUSAND POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the persons who committed the same, or any of them. And His Grace is also pleased to offer FREE PARDON to any person concerned in or privy to the said murder, other than the persotis who actually com- mitted the same, in case of his giving such information as will lead to the conviction of the persons, or any of them, concerned in the murder aforesaid. DESCRIPTION of a cow, the property of Mr. George Monson, which was stolen from the lands of Killester South, parish of Killester, barony of Coolock, on the night of 17th or morning of 18th instant, viz.:— A milch cow, well bred, and in fair condition, about 5 years old, reddish brown colour, with several white spots on sides, cocked horns which are sharp; the front teat on near side is shorter than the others, and there is a fresh scratch on the front one at off side; value for £ 15. DESCRIPTION of Simon M'Namara, native of Ath- lankard, county Clare, who stands charged with having, on the night of 19th October, 1879, in the barony of Pubblebrien, parish of Crecora, wantonly discharged a loaded gun in the house of Anne Dandon, at Jockey Hall, thereby dangerously wound- ing Ellen O'Donnell and Ellen Foley :— Large head, wears a light fair moustache, shaves all his face, dark eyes, long nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches, high, about 20 years of age, black hair; wore a black cap, black pilot coat, sack make, dark trowsers, and dark vest; is a labourer, and served in County Limerick Militia. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, about the hour of 12.15 o'clock, A. M., on the 25th ultimo, Thomas Tandy, Esq., was found dead oa his own land at Johnsbrook, in the county of Meath, having been murdered by some person or persons unknown; His Grace, for the better apprehending and bring- ing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to tbe conviction of the person or persons who committed the same ; and a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS for such private information as shall lead to the same result. DESCRIPTION of a watch, the property of the late Thomas Tandy, of Johnsbrook, county Meath, esq., stolen on the day of his murder, 24th August, 1879:— gold hunting watch, three- quarter- plate lever, with enamel dial, and engine- turned cases; " West and Son, Dublin, 4544," engraved upon the move- ment, end probably the Dame " West and Son'" also painted on the dial. DESCRIPTION of Peter William Daveis, al as Darkie, native of Manchester, England, who stands charged with having, on the 16th day of October, 1879, in the barony of East Offaly, parish of Ballysax, absconded, taking with him a gold watch and gold Albert chain, the property of M. Ryan :— Dark eyes, rather big nose, yellow complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 3 inches high, about 25 years of age, dark hair ; wore a black low round hard hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; attends on jockeys at races. DESCRIPTION of a gold watch and gold Albert chain, the property of Michael Ryan, which were stolen from the stand- house, Curragh, parish of Ballysax, barony of East Offaly, on the 16th October, 1879, by Peter William Daveis, alias Darkie, viz. :— 1. A gold lever watch, open face, jewelled in 6 holes, a small mark at or near the key- hole caused by a fall; " M. Ryan" engraved on back, maker's name, O'Hanlon; value for about £ 25. This watch at the time it was taken was out of repair. 2. A gold Albert chain, short link pattern, part of a watch- key attached to chain in place of locket; value for about £ 5. DESCRIPTION of Pierce Damer, native of Carrick- on- Suir ( where his father resides), and Michael Walsh, native of Athlone, who stand charged with having, on the 9th of October, 1879, in the barony of East Offaly, parish of Ballysax, taken from a box, in a Hut in E Lines, Curragh Camp, the sum of £ 4 6s., being the money of John Duke, Shoemaker, by whom they were employed :— 1. Pierce Damer— Gray eyes, sharp nose, sallow complexion, plump face, slight make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 24 years of age, dark hair ; bhek mous- tache ; shaves all his face but upper lip ; wore a jerry hat, short black coat, tweed trowsers, no vest 2. Michael Walsh— Has a slight halt, nose and chceks red, scurvy- like, with pimples, small gray eyes, regular nose, reddish complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 foet 5 inches high, about 50 years of age, gray hair, shaves all his face; wore a long brown coat, and tweed trowsers. DESCRIPTION of James Coffey, native of Queen's County, who stands charged with having, on the 19th December, 1867, in the barony of kilkea and Moone, parish of Killellan, murdered William Dunne, of Ballyadams, Queen's County. It is supposed that this offender has returned to the country :— Down- looking appear- ance, heavy upper lip, speaks with coarse flat accent and slight lisp, shaved, except small whiskers; sunken gray eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, full face, medium make, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, about 65 years of age, gray hair; wears a tall hat ( worn well down on forehead), blue coat, corduroy trowsers, black vest. DESCRIPTION of a person, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 26th day of September, 1879, at Shegoragh, in the barony of Boyle, parish of Boyle, visited the houses of Thomas M'Grath and John M'Donough, at night, armed with a gun, for the purpose of intimidating certiin persons:— Dark complexion, face almost covered with black hair, probably false, large stout make, 6 feet high, 40 years of age, dark hair, tall silk hat, dark cloth coat, trowsers, and vest; suspected agent of an illegal society, going about intimidating persons obnoxious to members of the society, armed with a gun, and wore a cape like a policeman's, a belt, and ammunition pouches, and a gold watch chain 5 looks like a policeman in plain clothes, or drilled man. Description of the wearing apparel:— A blue cloth frock coat with satin buttons, value for about £ l 10s.; a double- breasted vest of the same material, value for 10s.; a puce and blue silk handkerchief with white and orange spots, value for 1 s. 6d.; and a white check woollen tie, value for 6d.
