PARTICULARS relative to English licence- holder John Leany, A. 1610, convicted at Dum Durn, Calcutta, 8th December, 1874, for insubordination and violently resisting escort, aud sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 24 years of age on con- viction, is single, a labourer, born at Skreen, county Meath, formerly a soldier in 62nd Regiment, slender build, oval visage, and 5 feet 8J inches high, scar on 1 ridgo of nose and right elbow, nose inclines to left side, mole on inside of right arm and on right breast. This convict was discharged from Portland Convict Prison, on 18th June, 1879, and reported himself to the Dublin Metropolitan Police, 26th June, 1879, and stated he was going to Skreen, county Meath. He reported himself to the Royal Irish Constabulary at Kilmoon, county Meatb, 26th July, 1879, but not since, and his present whereabouts are unknown. In tho event of his arrest he should be dealt with under the 6th section of the Act 84 and 85 Vic., cap. 112. General Prisons Board, September 1!, 1879, ( 16521 M.— 28795.) PARTICULARS relative to English licence- holder James Doran, v. 574, convicted at Ramsey, Isle of Man, on 18th November, 1869, for bestiality, aud sentenced to 14 years penal servitude:— 18 years of age on conviction, single, a labourer, born in Ireland, resided before conviction in Ramsey ; dark brown hair, gray eyes, pale complexion, oval visage, propor- tionate make, 5 feet 6 inches high. This convict was discharged from Portsmouth Convict Prison, 19th June, 1879, on a special licence, and went to reside at Ramsey. He reported his arrival at Newry on the 1st ultimo, and left that place without notifying same to the Royal Irish Con- stabulary, and his present whereabouts are unknown. DESCRIPTION of John M'Alister, native of Sheltin ark, who stands charged with having, on the 25th ^ ay of June, 1878, in the barony of Upper Dunluce, parish of Lougbguile, forged, and on the 26th day of June, 1878, uttered a certain promissory note for £ 95, knowing the same to be forged, with intent to defraud, and failed to appear at Dervock Petty Sessions, on 2nd September, 1879, on summons to answer to the charge:— Speaks very politely, smacks his lips while talking, bald on top of head, slightly round shoulders, leans a little forward when walking, high cheek bones and sunksn jaws, blue ejes, long drooped nose, fair complexion, regular face, medium make 5 feet 10 inches high, about 45 years of age, dark hair turning gray, small whiskers ; wore a brown hat, long blue pilot coat wit'i outside pockets, check trowsers and vest; is a farmer. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that about the hour of Five o'clock, on the morning of the 22nd ultimo, tbe body of James Neagle, was found on the public road, in the townland of Kineilty, in the county of Clare, murdered by some person or persons at present unknown. His Grace, for tbe better apprehending and bring- ing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who committed the same. His Grace, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this Murder is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such infor- mation as shall lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who committed the same. Macken or Meekan, and Charles Buchanan, were brutally murdered at Cratlagh Wood, about three miles from Millford, in the county of Donegal, by some persons unknown: His Grace, for the better apprehending and bring- ing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE THOUSAND POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the persons who committed the same, or any of them. DESCRIPTION of a man, name unknown, supposed to be Doyle, a native of county Louth, who stands charged with having, on the I 1 th Septembor, 1879 in the barony of Magonihy, parish of Kilcummin and towuland of Scrahanfadda, stolen a cow, the property of Catherine Clifford: — Remarkably large head, slug- gish appearance, and looks like a tramp, drives cattle sometimes for jobbers, and recently worked as a navvy on the railway now being made near Listowel; was returning home, and will likely dispose of the cow on his way back; sallow complexion, round face, medium make, 6 feet 10 inches high, and about 30 years of age; small brown whiskers meeting under chin. Description of the cow:— A red- colourod oow, with " hoobey" horns ( crooked and turned towards head), white spot on forehead, in calf, and not much larger than a " Kerry" cow ; value for about £ 6 101. DESCRIPTION of James Coffey, native of Queen's County, who stands charged with having, on the 19th December, 1867, in the barony of Kilkea and Moone, parish of Killellan, murdered William Duune, of Ballyadams, Queen's County. ( See Hue- and- Cry of December, 1867.) It is supposed that this offender has returned to the country :— Down- looking appear- ance, heavy upper lip, speaks with coarse flat accent and slight lisp, shaved, except small whiskers; sunken gray eyes, regular no^ o, dark complexion, full face, medium make, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, about 65 years of age, gray hair; wears a tall hat ( worn well down on forehead), blue coat, corduroy trowsers, black vest. DESCRIPTION of a horse, the property of Patrick Morrissy, which was stolen out of a stable belonging to Cornelius Brusnahan, of Gurtroe, parish of Corcomohide, barony of Upper Connelloe, on the night of the 25 th September, 1879:— Very dark iron- gray, 14 han, ds high, very slight- limbed, has lost one of the side teeth, 4 years old ; value for £ 10. DESCRIPTION of Michael Gillooly, native of Ballin- gally, countv Limerick, who stands charged w th having, o. i the 8th September, 1879, at Ballinlough, in the barony of Small County, parish of Ballinlough, seriously assaulted Thomas Nihile with a loaded stick, fracturing his skull, thereby endangering his life:— Cut mark on bridge of nose, wears all bis beard; gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, oval face stout make, 5 feet 8f inches high, about 30 years of age, brown hair; wore a dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest: is a farmer's son. Unknown— Stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hair, large dark beard, short neck; spoke as if he had been a labourer in England. 2. Cogan, native of Bally- ragget, county Kilkenny, who stands charged with having, between the 20th August and 13th Septem- ber, 1 in the barony of Gallen, parish of Kilcon- duff, at Swinford, embezzled the suns of £ 1,5415s 9d., the property of the Hibernian Joint- Stock Bank Directors:— Springs on toes in walking; quiet de- iroanour; gray eyes, thin regular nose, lair com- plexion, h> ng thin face, slender make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark hair ; wore a dark hat, short dark tweed coat, gray twe'd trowsers, dark vtst: is a teller in the Hibernian Bank. Generally carries a stick, and keeps left hand in coat pocktt when walking He may try to escape in the gaib of a Priest. Has two brothers in America. The Sub- Inspector at Swinford holds a warrant for his arrest, and £ 100 reward k offered by the Hibernian Bank for his capture. * ( 28530 c.— 4 056R.) WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, about the hour of 12.15 o'clock, A. M., on the QHl) ultimo, Thomas Tandy, Esq., was found dead oa his own land at Johnsbrook, in the county of Meath, having been murdered by some person or persons unknown; His Grace, for the better apprehending and bring- ing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the conviction of the person or persons who committed the same ; and a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS .... i . - for such private information as shall lead to the same result. DESCRIPTION of a watch, tbe property of the late Thomas Tandy, of . johnsbrook, county Meath, esq., stolen on the day of his murder, 24th August, 1879:— gold hunting watch, three- quarter- plate lever, with enamel dial, and engine- turned cases; " West and Son, Dublin, 4544," engraved upon the move- men^ and probably the name " West and Son'* also painted on the dial. This watch has been in wear since 1863, and can be identified. Athboy, Sept. 4, 1879. ( 93165 o 10181.) DESCRIPTION of Thomas Deignan, native of Martins- town, Athboy, who stands charged with having, on the 30th August, 1879, in the barony of Lune, parish of Athboy, received from his employer ( Owen Murtagh), 8 head of cattle ( value for about £ 130), to sell in Manchester market, and with having embezzled the proceeds of the sale of said cattle:— Stooped shoulders, generally carried a brown frieze overcoat across his arm, and a long thin stick in his hand, regular nose, dark sallow complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 65 years of age, dark hair turning gray; wore a large soft felt hat, frock coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest; is a cattle jobber. DESCRIPTION of John Fitzsimons. mother's surname Keaveny, native of Cloncraff, who stands charged wiih having, on the J 9th August, 1879, in the barony of Ballintober North, parish of Kilglass, been one of a party who waylaid and assaulted Michael and James Doherty, of Liscolvia, on the public road at Moyglass :— Cheek bones a li tie prominent, gray or blue eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, broad face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 22 year's of age, dark brown hair; wore a small round hat, common make j dark frieze coat, cord trowsers, dark tweed vest; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of Terence Scanlon ( mother's sn-- name, Neary), native of Sligo town, who standi charged with having, on the 13th September, 1879, in the'town of Sligo, in the barony of Carbury, parish of St. John's, assaulted his wife, Margaret Scanlon. by kicking her on the head, and inflicting two serious wounds, which endanger her life:— Little finger of right hand crooked, small cut mark on forehead, brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 10^ inches high, about 34 years of a<< e, brown hair, wore a low felt hat, blue frock coat, corduroy trowsers, tweed vest; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of a person, name and native place u - l. nown. who stands charged with having, on the4th Sep- tember, 1879, at Aughris, in the barony of Tireragh, parish of Templeboy, been one of a party who entered the lodgings of James Cunningham, and dragged him out, cutting off part of his left ear, and firing shots outside house:— Straight, nose, dark complexion, jo* g face, very stout mahc, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 30 years of age; red hair, sandy beard on chin ; wore a soft black hat., old frieze coat. DESCRIPTION of Edward Maher, native of Tipperary, who stands charged wiih having, on the 19th of Sep- tember, 1879, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Cordangan, seriously assaulted his sister, Winifred Maher, by striking her on the head, and fracturing her skull:— Blue eyes, long thin nose, fair com- plexion, thin face, slight make, 6 feet 5 inches high, about 17 years of age, fair hair; wore a cap, tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of John Breen, native of Ayle, who stands charged with having, on the loth day o' September, 1879, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Sollogheadmore, dangerously assaulted John Bradshawe, by striking him several times on the head with a shovel, from the effjets of which his life is in danger:— heavy gait, gray eyes, regulnr nose, pale sallow complexion, th^ n facc, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 24 jears of age, fair hair ; wore a soft black hat, black tweed coat, trowsers and vest.
