INFORMATIONS. MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDIIG. A man, unknown, was killed at Rawcliffe on 30th - ultimo, and the coroner's jury returned a- verdict of ' Wilful Murder' against RICHARD BARNETT and FRED BARNET, who stand committed to take their trial on the coroner's warrant: the deceased was 22 years of age, 5 feet id inches high, daik complexion, dark brown hair, no whiskers • or mousta : he; dressed in old black cloth coat, fustian vest with white bone buttons, old cotton cord trousers, blue cotton aieckerchief with white spots, old brown cap, and blucher ; juots with brass eyelet holes. He is a trampiug labourer, and ^ oes by the name of Jack, Supposed to be a native of Buckinghamshire, in whiph county it has been stated his father works in a stone qttafry. Information to Mr. Super- intendent Dixon, Court House, Goole, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, ^ September 3. will be paid for the apprehension of the thief or thieves and recovery of the property. FORGERY. A man who gave the name of H. H. HUNT attempted to obtain £ 370 from the Hull Banking Company by means of <\ forged Cheque, ou 2nd instant, having forged the name of S. Wacholder, a jeweller, & c., at Hull: he is about 40 pr 45 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, dark hair, dark ginger whiskers aud moustache, stout build, soft weak voice ; dressed in black coat and vest, dark trousers, and low felt hat. A young man whom he engaged as clerk the day previous was sent to the Bans with the Cheque. At his lodgings ( where he only stayed one night) were found envelopes addressed to Mr. T . L. Lynn, Wynn Side Mill.-", . near Doncaster ; Messrs. Temple and Brooks, corn importers, 112, Water- street, Liverpool; Messrs. Wan er, Hilbert, and Co., Lord- street, Liverpool; Mr. J. Hickman, seed crusher, Bow- lane, Leeds ; and Mr. James Wentworth, Yorkshire Sack Hiring Company, Bow- lane, Leeds. He has in his possession another blank Cheque, No. 46930, on the Hull Banking Company which he may attempt to make use of. Warrant issued. Stolen from the person at Preston, on the night of 31st, imo, an English made silver lever Watch ; has the tford ' l- iondon,' and the number ' 12' on the works; had a jet Chain with round and flat links attached. Description of a man, wanted at Blackpool for stealing a Cow on 28th ultimo, and which he sold in Preston Market : he is 40 to 45 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, sandy hair, whiskers, and moustache, shaves chin, stout build, fresh looking ; dressed: in black cloth suit, soft billycock hat, white collar, and black tie. Stolen from a field at Thame, Oxon, on 29th ultimo : a a bay Mare, aged, white hind legs, blaze in face, and lame in fore feet. Charged with larceny : JAMES CURTIS, about 45 yrs. of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, dark ' complexion, black hair, turniug grey, whiskers and' moustache shaved off, a small piece of hair under lower lip, aud a scar on chin ; dressed in a blue rough cloth overcoat, blue - serge uuder coat, mixture eloth ver and corduroy trousers. Stolen from Dauntsey, Wilts, on 30tli ultimo : a Gun, recovered. By a man about 5 feet 10 inches high, light brown moustache, no whiskers, anchor on left hand ; dressed in light cord or moleskin suit; carried a large fustian Jacket; was traced to Swindon. Information to Mr. Superintendent Luffman, Malmeabury, Wilts.— Bow- street, September 5. Stolen during the night of 2nd instant, from the ' Hare and Hounds Inn,' Worthing, the property of Michael Megginniss : a light tweed pair of Trousers, nearly new, fly front; a dark tweed Jacket, 4 pockets outside; Vest same material, with 3 pockets; a pair of twill calico Drawers, owners name on them ; a pair of lace up Boots, pelted and nailed ; an imitation gold Watch, with brass Chain ; a silver double cased Watch, with silver Chain ; and a yellow cambric Bag, with 3 divisions, containing some Silver & c. By a tramping french polisher, about 20 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, brown hair, no whiskers, eyes turn inward, swelling on left side ot neck, and is rather hard of hearing ; dressed in the stolen clothing, and a dark tweed so t hat, with two ventilators on each side. Description of ALFRED BARD, a carrier from Bognor to Chichester, charged on a warrant with receiving a quantity of Ironmongery, knowing the same to have been stolen at Chiche3ter : he is about 29 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, sallow complexion, very dark hair, dark whiskers, slight moustache ; generally dressed in dark clothes. Information to Mr. Superintendant Lucas, County Police, Chichester, Sussex.— Bow- street, September 5. Absconded, having embezzled £ 23 15s. 6d., and divers other sums of Money, received bv him on account of his employers, Messrs. Peter Stubs and Company, tool manufac- turers, Warrington: GEORGE HENRY ARDRON, com- mercial traveller, 40 years of age. 5 feet 10i inches high, dark or sallow complexion, dark hair and eyes, heavy moustache, no whiskers, long features, native of Syston, Leicestershire, and was last seen or heard of by his employers on Aug. I4th, at the Imperial Hotel, Cork, Ireland. Information to Chief Constable Hunt, Warrington, Lancashire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, September 5. Charged with stealing £ 120 from a beerhouse bedroom, at Haslingden, on 30th ultimo : a man, 21 years of age, 5 feet inches high, fresh complexion, light brown hair, blue eyes, face a little freckled, and has a cioss i n back of left hand; dressed in a light coh ort cl tweed coat, far worn, black cloth trousers, far worn, and cap with peak, belongs to the Burcley Militia, and is a power loom weaver by trade. He was traced to Burnley, and left by tiain for Blackburn on 31st ultimo, and had then plenty of money on him, and was in company with a man unknown ; traced to Belle Vue, Manchester, on lst instant. Rings, one broken; a lady's box Ring, set with pearls, hair in centre, and glass cracked ; a hair Keeper, hair and gold twisted in ; and 3 or 4 other Keepers. Supposed by a man 30 to 40 years of age, about 5 feet 1 inches high, dark com- plexion, with some whiskers, and appeared to. carry his head a little on one side, supposed h ft J dressed in dark grey suit, and was carrying a light oveyeoat or mackinto- h ovur left, arm, which he occasionally i ut on. He eloped with Sarah Ann Webster, wife of Charles Webster, she is 49 years of age, 5 feet 1 to 3 inches high, stout make, light complexion, light brown hair, sun freckled on face and arms, cast in One eye ; dressed iu dark clothes, Paisley shawl, white jacket, and silk dress in her possession. They were accompanied by Clara Webster, 4 years of age, light hair, little curly, and speaks through her nose ; bought a new clothes box at Newport, Mon. £ 1 reward will be paid on apprehension, and a further reward will be paid in proportion to the money found ou them. Information to the Chief Constable of Monmouthshire. Abergavenny, Mr. Superintendent Mcintosh, Pontypool. to Inspector Sheppard, Newport.— Bm- st., September 3. Charged with stealing a quantity of Shoes, of various sizes, at Buckingham : a man about 35 ' years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, pale complexion, broT n hair and moustache ; dressed in dirty c'oth trousers, and generally wears a short holiund jacket. He has been in the Army and is branded with the letters ' B. C.' on the right side, is quick in his movements, and very talkative, especially when under fhe influence of drink, worked whilst in Buckingham as a bricklayer, but has been employed in Gas Works. He is accompanied by a Woman, who is very short, plain features ; shabbily dressed, and has a child about 2 years old. Stolen from a field at Kerry, on 23rd ultimo : a brown twill slop Jacket, nearly new ; a grey cloth Coat, half worn, cutis bound with black braid, two pockets on hips and one inside left bieast, pearl buttons same colour as coat. Sppposed by a tramp, about 45 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, stout build, full dark sandy whiskers ; dressed in dark clothes, and wears strings tied round his legs below knees. He atteuds fairs and auctions as a drover. He is the same man as describeu in the Police Gazette of 25th June last, suspected of house- breaking at Worthin, Salop. He is known in Salop and Herefordshire. Information to the Chief Constable's Office, Newtown, or to Police Constable Tanner, Kerry, Montgomery- shire.— Bow- street, September 1. Stolen from a dwelling- house at Ryde, on 25th ultimo a dark tweed Coat, Vest, and Trousers, metal Guard and Locket, also 4s. 6d. in Silver. By a man named FREDERICK PIERCE a mariner, 22 years of age, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, dark complexion and hair ( cut short), star inside left wrist, huge wart under right ' humb ; he has beeu previously convicted of felony. Information to Mr. Superintendent Burt, Police Office, Ryde, Isle of Wight, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, September 1. Stolen from Lockerbie, on 28th ultimo: a double cased silver lever Watch, No. 47576, capped aud jewelled in six holes, white chaptered dial, gold spade hands, sunk second and not much worn, and attached a silver guard Chain ; double- cased silver verge Watch, No. 4375, yellow hands, cream- coloured chaptered dial, attached a yellow metal Albert Chain, of snake pattern. Supposed by a man from 20 to 2£ years of age, 5 ffeet 6 inches high or thereabouts, brown hair, no whiskers, round face, and stout make ; dressed in dark brown tweed reefer jacket, dark or brown tweed trousers, green and black checked cravat, black felt hat, and fine boots or Shoes. Absconded on 22nd ultimo, charged with stealing a lady's gold Necklace, single row of pearls, one large ( mounted in gold to form a snap) ; 2 small pearl necklaces, two rows each ; 1 five row Ditto ; a parcel of loose Rubies^ 27i carats, diop shape ; 4 catseye stones, coloured ; a gold enamelled Brooch, set with onyx : MEYER BEENBAUM, an Austrian, traveller 38 j ears of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, dark complexion, hair and moustache black, whiskers ( long) black ; dress, long tla- k overcoat, with velvet collar, and hip pockets, light tiousers, high black hat, side- spring boots. Warrant issued. — Metropolitan Poliee, G Division, September 1. Description of a man giving the name of GEORGE WILLIAMS, charged with stealing from a public- house in Nottingham, a lady's gold Geneva Watch, maker Baskerfield. Leek, Staffordshire ; a. silver hunting Watch, gold Albert Guard attached, belcher pattern, gold Locket attached, which is half broken off: he is about 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, dark brown hair, sallow complexion, no whiskers, slight moustache ; dressed in a suit of dark grey, jacket coat. He said he was a detective from Great Scotland- yard, and that he was making an enquiry about a robbery on the Great Northern Railway, he left a card with the address of Lower Park, Loughton, Essex. Information to Chief Constable Poyntz, Nottingham.— Bow- street, September 1. Stolen from a middle class lodging house in Bolton about 5 30 a m. on 30th ultimo : a gold Russian lever hunting Watch, No. 57,995, has the name ' Ancre, & c.' on back of inner c> se, and ' A. N. L.' engraved on outside case, glass cracked and hour finger broken, aud stamped 14 carat; had attached a 14 carat gold albert Chain, to which was appended a Seal with bloodstone on one side, and red on the other, stamped 10 carat; also about £ 6 4s. iu Gold aud Silver; one five- franc Piece ; and one German five Pfennig Piece. By a man who speaks with a foreign accent, and said he was born in Jersey in October, 1843, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, verv fresh complexion, dark eyes, black hair brushed very smooth, full round face, black whiskers, shaved on chin and throat, black moustache, hangs his head down when walking ; dressed in dark sleeved waistcoat, dark brown cord trousers, such as those worn by railway porters, light blue necktie with blue stripes thereon, white cuffs, and rather tall hard black billycock hat. Stated he was a foreman at the Railway Goods Department. £ 1 reward will be paid by the owner for such information as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender, and a further sum of £ 1 for the recovery of the pro| erty, or in proportion thereof. Informa- tion to Chief Constable Holgate, Bolton, Lancashire.— Bow- street, September 1. Stolen on 28th ultimo, from No. 33, Church- street, St Ebbe, Oxford : a pair of elastic- side Boots, buff tops blacked over; also a pair of long gold Ear- rings, knob at top aud loose drop iu centre. B\ a lodger, a stage scene painter, about 28 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 0 inches high, very florid Com- plexion, hair cut short, dai k moustache, cheeks and chiu clean shaved ; dressed iu a snuff- coloured suit of clothes, aud hard felt hat. Has lost first joint of forefinger of one hand. Was seen leavii g Oxford at 3 p. m. same day in the direction of Reading and London.
