DUBLIN CASTLE, 15th April, 1878. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, about the hour of 9.30 o'clock on the morning of Tuesday, the 2nd day of April, 1878 William Sydney, Earl of Leitrim, John W. Macken or Meekan, and Charles Buchanan, were brutally murdered at Cratlagh Wood, about three miles from Millford, in the county of Donegal, by some persons unknown: His Grace, for the better apprehending and bring- ing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE THOUSAND POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the persons who committed the same, or any of them. And His Grace is also pleased to offer a FREE PARDON to any person concerned in or privy to the said aaurder, other than the persons who actually com- mitted the same, in case of his giving such information as will lead to the conviction of the persons, or any of them, concerned in the murder aforesaid. By His Grace's Command, T. H. BURKE. The above reward will be paid by Edmund Y. Peel, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Letterkenny, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of Charles Elliott, native of Drum- errin, who stands charged with having, on the morning of the 14th July, instant, in the barony of Boylagh, parish of Inniskeel, stolen nine sheep, viz.— four ewes, three wethers, one ram, and one lamb, the property of Patrick Dunleavy :— Wants two joints of third finger of light hand ; has a habit of twitching his mouth to right side when speaking; brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round full face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 45 years of age, brown hair, turning gray, wears all his beard ; wore a soft black hat, dark frieze coat, dark trowsers, frieze vest Speaks with a coarse accent peculiar to returned Irish Americans, which he is one of; is a farmer. B. Martley, esq, J. P., were maliciously and wilfully set on fire and totally destroyed: , His Grace, for the better apprehending and bring- ing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who committed the same. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Burns, native of Borrisna- farney, who stands charged with having, on the 8th day of July, 1879, at Borrisnafarney, in the barony of Ikerrin, parish of Borrisnafarney, seriously as- saulted Jeremiah Tierney, of Borrisnafarney, by striking him on the forehead with a hammer, thereby placing his life in danger:— Speaks with a stammer, and smiles when spoken to; blue or gray eyes, drooped nose, pale complexion, round full face, stout make, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, about 82 or 38 years of age, dark hair, no whiskers, shaves all his face; wore a frieze frock coat, tweed trowsers and vest; is a farmer. DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 5th July, 1879, absconded from the Glencree Reformatory School at Enniskerry, county Wicklow:— Michael Judge, 1438, about 19 years of age, about 6 feet 6 inches or 5 feet 7 inches high, strong make, fair complexion, fair hair, gray eyes, regular nose, ordinary mouth, long visage ; cannot straighten right arm fully; formerly belonged to 69, Mary's- lane, Dublin, where his parents reside. The school dress, all with Reformatory stamp, con- sists of:— Corduroy trowsers, vest, and jacket, cloth cap, strong boots. He may have some other clothes with the above. His father is a blacksmith, and the boy has been at that business for some years. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expense of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with XI. ^ DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 2nd July, 1879 absconded from the St. Kevin's Reformatory School at Glencree, county Wicklow:— Richard M'Hale, 1547, about 16 years of age, about 4 feet 9 inches or 4 feet 11 inches high, strong make, sallow complexion, brown hair, gray eyes, thick nose, full mouth, round visage ; tattoo marks on arms and wrists ; formerly belonged to Quay- street, Sligo, where his parents reside. The school dress, all with Reformatory stamp, consists of:— Corduroy trowsers, vest, and jacket, cloth cap ( Scotch make), strong boots. Is probably accompanied by his mother, and may endeavour to go to Glasgow, where his uncle resides. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expense of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justiee, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with XI. — ilasn it- HABITUAL CRIMINALS UNDER POLICE SUPERVISION Who have not reported themselves, as required by " The Prevention of Crimes Act, 1871," and who are liable, on conviction, to 12 months' Imprisonment.
