Between 2 and 3 a. m. on 19th instant, three men wear- ing masks, two of them carrying pistols, burglariously entered the bedroom of Uriah Newport, at Bedminster Down, one of the thieves presenting a pistol at Mr. Newport-, kept him in bed while the others ransacked the house, carrying away with them a large old- fashioned silver Watch, a Geneva ditto, with brass rim round the face ; two table and four Dessert, Spoons ( electro- plate) ; a large breast Pin with gold head, white stone in ccntre, twisted ring on face ; a small gold ditto, round head ; a small gold ditto, white stone in ceutre. cut round the face ; a gold bosom Buckle, oval shape, and about 17s. in Silver. StoLm by means of burglary, on 19th instant, from the dwelling- house of Robert Elgar, farmer, at Barney, near Fakenham, Norfolk, by two men, one of whom is in custody : a pair of lobster Crackers and Spoon ; a fish Knife and Fork, these articles are electro- plated, and were contained in two Russian leather Cases, with purple inside linings, the knife and fork had ivory haudle, a swan is engraved on the knife blade ; also a gold watch Chain, link pattern, very thick and heavy ; a horse Pistol, ' Horseley' engraved on the lock, and 1 Fakenham ' on the barrel. A reward of three guineas will be given by Mr. Elgar, for the recovery of the stolen articles, and conviction of the offenders. Information to Mr. Super- intendent Murrell, Walsiugham, Norfolk. — Bow - street, December 23. Stolen by means of housebreaking, from a dwelling- house in Bolton, about 1 p. m. ou 20th instant : 2 ladies silver Neck- chains, small pattern, to one of which was attached a silver Locket, with a lady and gentleman's photograph therein ; a common Locket, jet one side, metal on the other, and set with a briliiaut ; also a Shilling in money. By a respectable- looking man, who was met coming down the stairs, who made an excuse and got away, he is about 32 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, rather slender made, moustache and no whiskers ; dressed in a black billycock hat, and dark overcoat lather long. He left behind him a horse shoer's tool, 10 ins. by 1 inch, pointed and made out of an old file. Information to Chief Constable Holgate, Bolton, Lancashire.— how- street, Decvember 23. A During the night of 21st instant, a dwelling- house at Finch field, near Wolverhampton, - was broken and eutered, and stolen therein : | a round of spiced Beef, 20 lbs. ; 3 bottles of Brandy, bottles marked ' T. Hines ' and a bunch of grapes; 4 quarts" of Gin, in white stone bottles; three pairs of women's Boots, No. 1, elastic- sides, patent toe- caps, size No. 5, No. 2, elastic- sides, ( strong, plain, and nearly new, No. 3, tendent Simmons, Coleshill, or to Inspector Prosser, Acock'a Green, Warwickshiie.— Bow- street, December 20. Description of Pony and Cart left in Warwick- street, Boiougfi- road, on 3rd instant, not owned ( supposed stolen) : brown horse Pony, 11 hands high, hog mane, recently clipped, in good condition ; silver- plated Harness ; light spring Cart, painted black, wheels and shafts red, picked out with black, felloe in off wheel, spring and step broken, containing a black Rug, lined, red tiger thereon.— Metropolitan Police, M Division, December 20. Stolen from a dwelling- house at Cloughfold, Rawtenstall, about 3 a. m. on 23rd instant: a blue cloth monkey Jacket, black horn buttons, lined with woollen plaid lining, small hole in one elbow, man's size ; a pair of men's strong water- tight Boots, nearly new ; a pair of boy's lace- up Boots, with hook at top, part worn ; a blue plaid bundle Handkerchief. By a man, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, pale complexion, black beard and moustache, shaves the upper part of face ; dressed in grey tweed coat, black cloth waist- coat, moleskin trousers; has worked in the neighbourhood of Pontefract and other parts of Yorkshire. Charged with stealing 12s., the moneys of 1, if- employer John Thick builder, at EVersley, on ISth inaturil : JAMES GUYETT, about 18 years of age, 3 feet 5 or 6 inches high, sallow complexion, light brown hair ; dressed in new drab reefer jacket, with black velvet collar,- new corduroy trousers, and new black soft felt hat. She is a prostitute, and supposed to have left Hull on 22nd ultimo after BARNEY HOPKINSON, the man she lived with, was apprehended.
