INFORMATIONS. MURDER AID MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING. Further information respecting WM. McGUINNESS, wanted for the murder of his wife at Barrow- in- Furness, as advertised in the Police Gazette of 28th ultimo : a verdict of Milful Murder against McGuinness' was returned by the « 3roner's jury at the inquest held at Barrow- in- Furness, on 31st ultimo. Her Majesty's Government offer a reward of £ 100 to any person ( other than a persnn belonging to a Police Force in the United Kingdom) who shall give such information and evidence as shall lead to the discovery and conviction of the murderer, and the Secretary of State for the Home Department will advise the grant of Her Majesty's gracious pardon to any accomplice, not being the person who actually committed the murder, who shall give such evidence as shall lead to a like result. Also that Her Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the county of Lancaster offer a further reward of £ 100 to any person ( other than above- mentioned) who shall give such information and evidence as aforesaid. Information to the Chief Constable, County Police Office, Preston ; to Mr. Superintendent Barker, Police Office, Barrow- in- Furness, Lancashire; or at any Police Station.— Bow- street-, November 18. FORGERY. Absconded from Lincoln on 30th ultimo, charged with forgery and larceny : a solicitors clerk, 26 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, fair complexion, light hair, no whiskers, very small moustache, of gentlemanly appearance, very good musician and amateur theatrical performer, may seek employ- ment as such, or endeavour to emigrate; photograph on appli- cation. £ 5 reward will be paid to any person giving such information as shall lead to his apprehension. Information to Chief Constable Mansell, Lincoln City.— Bow- street, Nov. 15. ROBBERY' AID LARCENY FROM THE PERSON. Stolen from the person of L. G. Scott, Esq., on 20th inst. at Warwick races : a gold lever hunting Watch, with gold Albert Chain and small key attached, on the back of the Watch are the initials ' L. G. S|'. Information to Mr. Superin- tendent Frankton, Kenilworth, or to Inspector Yardley, Warwick.— Bow- street, November 22. Supposed stolen from the person at Matterdale, near Penrith, Cumberland, on lst ultimo: a silver Watch, No. 15178, with silver dial plate, attached was a short steel Chain and Seal. Also supposed stolen from the person at Penrith, Cumber- land on 12th instant : a Boston silver leser Watch, No. 308889, the letters ' C. A. M.' or ' C. A. N.' scratched with a pin on the plate, just above the key- hole, attached was a small linked brass Chain, and a common watch Key. Information to Mr. Superintendent Fowler, Penrith, or at the County Chief Constable's Office, Carlisle, Cumberland.— Bow- street, November 20. BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. Durino- the night of 14th instant' fiom the booking office at Codsall Railway Station, near Wolverhampton, was broken and entered and stolen therein : a quantity of wearing apparel ( rec - vered), by a man about 34 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 ins. high brown hair, sandy whiskers and moustache, fresh com- plexion. .- tout build, lost first or second finger supposed left hand-; dressed in soft black billy cock hat, dented at top, dark short'jacket, moleskin trousers, apparently new or recently washed dirty on knees, carried with him an umbrella. In- formation to Deputy Chief Constable Oswell, Staffordshire, or to Inspector Gilbride, Tettenhall, near Wolverhampton. —. Bow- street, November 22. During the night of 15th instant, three houses were broken and entered, and stolen therein : a dark brown heavy cloth Ulster ; a black ribbed cloth Coat, single- breasted, four buttons, top button hole cut ; a brown silk Umbrella, dark cane stick, ebony handle, switch pattern, mounted with silver ;' a briar- wood Pipe, silver mounted ; a silver Knife and Spoon, presentation to baby, and marked ' T. G. M.;' and Is. 6d. worth of Postage Stamps. Information to Head Constable Austin, Maidjnhead, Berks.— Bow- street, Novem- ber 20. Between 8 and 9 p. m. on 17th instant, the residence of Richard Smith Carrington, Esq., or Barbourne House, Worcester, was broken and entered by placing a ladder against a bedroom window, and stolen therein : 1 gentleman's open- faced old gold Watch, gold dial. 1 lady's small gold Watch, chased back, open- faced, gold dial. 1 star- shaped Pendant, of about 6 points, Algerian onyx, and pearls, new, value 25 guineas. 1 new gold Neckchain, for above Pendand, value 10 guineas. 1 lady's Ring, new, diamonds and pink corals, about 6 of each stone. 1 lady's plain Ring, with red stone. 1 plain gold Bracelet. 1 small Locket, with coloured photo of a lady. 1 Bracelet, with a row of blue turquoise stones. 1 gold and blue enamel btar Brooch, with pearls. 1 pair of Ear- rings to match. 1 Bracelet to match. 1 French pink amethyst Necklace, with various coloured stones, forming pendants, and plain Ear- rings to match. 1 gold Neckchain, with'gold fringe, and small pink corals and pearls. 1 pair of black and white onyx Ear- rings. 1 French Bracelet, garnet stones. 1 pair of plain onyx Ear- rings. 2 Scotch pebble Bracelets. 1 sealskin Cloak. 1 oval g"> ld Brooch, large pearl in centre, set with brilliants and in black enamel. A reward of £ 10 will be paid to any person giving such information as shall lead to the conviction of the oflender or offenders and recovery of the property, or in proportion to the amount recovered. Information to Deputy Chief Con- stable Checketts, County Police Office, Worcester.— Bow- street, November 20. About 7' 40 p. m. on 17th instant, Enville Hall, the residence of the Earl of Stamford and Warrington, was burglariously entered : one man, whenifound in a bedroom, pointed a pistol at the valet, and threatened to shoot him, is about 35 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, dark hair and moustache, no whiskers, dark complexion, thin face, and slender build ; dressed in dark clothes. He is supposed to have had two accomplices, and one of them was seen at an hotel near, wiih an old brown Horse and a dark coloured Trap, with a square lamp lit on the left side. This man is about 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, black hair and moustache, no whiskers, thin face, and rather slender ; dressed in long dark coat, black silk hat, low shoes, and white stockings. £ 100 reward will be paid by the Earl of Stamford for the apprehension and conviction of the offenders. Information to Chief Constable Congreve, Stafford. — Bow- street, November 20. Stolen from the cottage of John Taylor, Barugh Hill, Great Kelk, by means of housebreaking, on 11th instant: an old blue Top- coat; a fustian Jacket; and two pairs of fustian Trousers, black and white striped. Information to Mr. Superintendent Harper, East Riding Constabulary, Great Driffield, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, November 18. During the night of 15th instant, 3 shops at Handsworth were broken and entered, and stolen therein : 3 pairs of men's elastic- sid^ Boots, plain fronts, Prince of Wales pattern, 6, 7. and 8 sizes, 8/ 6 or 8/ 9 scratched on sole of the largest pafr ; a pair of woman's fancy morocco Boots, elastic- sides, patent leather toe- caps, white stitched, 7/ 6 scratched on sole ; 2 pairs of women's common memmel elastic- side boots, patent toe- caps, 5/- scratched on soles; a dark blue doeskin cloth Overcoat, 12 months worn, two pockets on liips, one inside left breast, and a ticket pocket right side, may have ' J. Yernon, Smethwick,' on the loop, a pair of dark cloth Gloves in pocket; 2 brown bamboo Canes, one with spear; 5 Pork Pies, a a quantity of Pastry, Tarts, common Cigars, & c. ^ Information to Mr. Superintendent Woollaston, West Bromwich, or to Inspector Whitehur. it, Handsworth, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, November 18. Stolen from a second hand clothes dealers shop, at Bolton, about 4 a. m. on 14th instant, by means of breaking the plate glass in the shop window : a pair of mens elastic- side Boots, sham buttons, size 8, toe capped, rivetted soles, and quite new ; a pair of woman's elastic- side Boots, kip tops, patent leather toe caps, size 7, rivetted soles, quite new ; a pair of elastic- side Boots, to fit a boy 3 or 4 years of au strong kid tops, toe capped, rivetted soles, strap up front and down back of boots, quite new ; 2 pairs of elastic- side Boots, sizes supposed 3, to ht a girl about 13 years of age, kid tops patent leather toe caps, rivetted soles, quite new, all the boot- are slightly soiled. Bolton, Lancashire.— Bow- street, November 15. hands high, star on forehead, white streak over the nose, near hind foot white, sligntly rubbed on side of near shoulder ; the property of Mr. Sanders, Nutsun Farm, Chawleigh. On the evening of 4th instant a man was seen loitering on the high- way, and an old saddle and bsidle found concealed in a coppice near the field where the Mare was stolen from : he is about 40 years of age, rather short and stout, dark bushy whisker ; dressed in dark clothes, white muffler, and shoes with buckles. Stated that he was going to Cheldon, but was seen going towards Nutsun Farm. £ 10 reward will be paid by Mr. Sanders on recovery of the Mare and conviction of the offender or offenders. Information to Mr. Superintendent Wood, Devon Constabulary, B Division, South Molton, Devonshire.— Bow- street, November 22. Stolen on 10th instant, from a field at Highham Hall, Walthamstow : a bay Horse, 16 hands high ; and an iron- grey Colt, long tail.— Metropolitan Police, N Division, Nov. 18. Stolen from a farm in Chawleigh, Devon, on the night of 4th instant: a black mare Colt, coming 3 years old, about 14| hands high, star, on forehead, small white streak over the nose, near hind foot white, slightly rubbed on side of near shoulder; the property of Mr. Yanders, Nutson Farm, Chawleigh. Information to Mr. Superintendent Wood, B Division, Devon Constabulary, South Molton.— Baw- street, November 15. HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING. Stolen from a farm at Chawleigh, Devon," on the night of 4th instant ; a black mare Colt, coming 3 years old, about 14£ LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT. Absconded from Topsham Barracks, Exeter, on the night of 14th instant, charged on warrant with embezzling about £ 60 : ALFRED TRAPP, No. 2468, Quarter Master Sergeant Royal Horse Artillery, he is 29 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, very stout build, brown hair, curly moustache, no whis- kers, very fat round face, short thick neck, and small grey ey^ s, by trade a clerk, f « ftd of drink, aod native of Waltham Abbey, Essex ; dressed in mackintosh, dark tweed coat vest, and light color trousers, it is likely he will try and leave the country Information to Deputy Chief Constable of Devon, Exeter- who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, Nov. 22> Stolen from the dwelling- house of Mrs. Moore, Maiden-' head, Berks, on 6th instant, a double- cased silver hunting Watch, No. 5105. By a man who lodged there one week, about 30 years of age, 0 feet 4 or 5 inches high, fair com- plexion, dark brown hair, small light moustache, no whiskers, and red or sore- looking grey eyes ; dressed in short black ribbed cloth coat, pockets on hips, drab and brown striped vest, dark small plaid trousers, side- spring boots, and black hard felt hat. Stated he was a grocer's assistant and has been employed by Messrs. Blackie and Sons, Paternoster- row. Left behind some shirts ( dirty), marked ' H. Blake,' and ' G. Blake.' a copy of ' Notes on the New Testament,' vol. YI, Matthew and Mark; a copy of the ' Comprehensive Diction- ary,' and some forms of the Pearl Life Insurance Company, believed to be the same man wanted at Chatham for a similar offence, see Gazette of 18th instant. Supposed known at No. 5, Eleanor terrace, Brook- road, Hornsey, London, N. Infor- mation to Head Constable Austin, Maidenhead, Berks.— Bern- street, November 22. Stolen from bed- rooms at Cambridge, on 18th instant: a pair of gold Ear- rings, bird and ball pattern ; a gold Ring with three rubies, gipsy setting ; a silver snake Ring with blue eyes ; a gold band Ring, set with a ruby ( broken), with 7 diamonds round it; and a lady's open faced gold Geneva Watch with green enamelled flowered back, attached to a rather thick double link gold Chain. Supposed by two men who hired a pony and trap in the town and drove to New- market, where they left the pony and trap about 6 p. m. One is about 26 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, fresh com- plexion, small and sandy moustache ; dressed in dark blue overcoat, and black hard felt hat. The other is about 24 yrs. of age, about 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, fair compelxion, full face, and no whiskers or moustache ; dressed in brown over- coat, and hard black felt hat. Information to Head Con- stable Turrall, Cambridge.— Bow- Street, November 22. Description of WALTER CHARLES WILLIAMS, charged with larceny, fraud, & c., a black coloured lad from Demerara : he is 17 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, black thick hair, strongly built, well dressed and speaks good English, pretends that he is placed under the tuition of a chemist or a doctor prior to entering Cambiidge University to study medi- ciue, that his father is a wealthy ship owner in Demerara, by which false statements he obtains clothing, food, lodgings, money, & c, lived in Bristol and Sydney, Gloucestershire, for a short time. Information to Mr. Sinclair, Chief of Police, Newport, Monmouth, who holds a warrant for his apprehen- sion.— Bow- street, November 22. Absconded from Hastings on 20th instant, charged with stealing from 39, All Saints- street, on 19th instant : a water- proof Cloak and wool Snawl, ( since recovered) : a man about 32 or 33 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, light hair, whis- kers, aud small moustache ; dressed in black monkey jacket cord trousers, black and red knitted guernsey, and old light billycock hat; in company with a woman 33 or 34 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, dark brown hair, full red face • dressed in a red and black plaid shawl, and black bonnet. Information to Chief Superintendent Gleuister, Hastings Sussex.— Bow- street, November 22. Stelen between 15th and 17th instant, from No. 35 Bourne- street, Eastbourne : a blue Witney cloth Overcoat' velvet collar, two pockets outside, in addition to ticket pocket 2 on ri^ ht side, the left side pocket is torn about an inch in front corner, two bottom buttons each side are torn off, and the buiton holes are much worn. Supposed by a man who lodged at the house, from 30 to 35 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, pale complexion, brown hair, whiskers and moustache, very slight figure, and a jobbing gardener; dressed in monkey jacket, dark trousars, with large patch on right knee, hard felt hat, and heavy lace- up boots. Informa- tion to Mr. Superinendent Newnliam, East Sussex Con- stabulary, Eastbourne.— Bow- street, November 22. Stolen on 20th instant, from a dwelling- house in Saint Leonards, the following electro- plated articles, shell pattern, marked ' E. M. D.' in cypher : four table SpooDS ; four dessert Spoons ; eight table Forks ; eigi't dessert Forks ; a fish Slice and Fork ; three fish Knives ; three dessert Forks ; a butter Knife ; a sugar Sifter ; and a marmalade Spoon ; also silver articles : two knife Rests ; two silver gravy Ladles; and two salt Spoony fiddle pattern. Supposed by a man, 25 to 30 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, very slight whiskers and moustache; dressed in dark grey coat, pockets on the hips, cord trousers and cap, stoops when walking. And a woman rbout the same age, 5 feet high ; dressed in a grey stuff dress, dark cloth jacket, and black hat. Informa- tion to Chief Superintendent Glenister, Hastings, Sussex.— Bow- street, November 22. Absconded, charged with breaking into several booking or parcels offices at railway stations, principally in North Staffordshire, during the last few weeks : a man, about 40 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, black moustache, b! ack whiskers of about a month's growth, slight spare figure, very dark brown complexion, thin lips, and has the appearance of a foreigner; dressed in soft black billycock b; ft, old dirty black cloth jacket, and greasy moleskin trousers. Will most likely be found at common lodging- houses, or sleeping in cabins or outhouses. Information to Mr. Super- intendent Mc Williams, Longton, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, November 22. Stolen on the night of 16th instant, at Rotherfield : two doe tame Rabbits, one 5 months old, one grey, the other sandy and white ; also stolen, one silver pencil Hamburgh Rooste and ihree Hens of mixed breed, dark brown colour. In- formation to Mr. Superintendent Peerless, Uckfield, or to Sergeant | Avery, Court House, Mark Cross, Sussex.— Bow- street, November 22. Stolen on 18th instant, from a shoemaker's shop at Long- worth : a quantity of upper Leather. Supposed by a tramping shoemaker, who had been employed a few days, and then absconded, 26 or 27 years of age, 5 foet 3 or 4 inches high, dark complexion ; dressed in old black cloth coat, vest, and trousers, mended on each knee with patches of grey cloth, old hard felt hat, and a pair of low shoes cut out of an old pair of Wellington boots. He had a machine in his possession for cutting shoe strings. It is supposed that he will cut the leather into strings and hawk them about. Information to Mr. Superintendent Reece, Constabulary Office, Faringdon, Berks.— Bow- street, November 20. Stolen from Bishop Middleham, on 9th instant: a black pilot Overcoat ( such as are worn by railway servants), two pockets outside and one inside, black bone buttons, scarlet and black lining ; a brown small- checked tweed dress Coat, new, two pockets outside and one inside, blue and white striped lining ; a pair of Trousers, new, fly fronts, made of same material as coat, and also lined with, blue and white lining; a pair of lace^ up Boots, partly worn, one of the eye- holes of left boot is broken, have been newly heeled, and have heel plates on. By ISAAC BURNLEY, 34 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, fresh complexion, slightly pockmarked, scar on back of neck, blue eyes, dark brown hair, sandy whiskers ; is well known at Wakefield and Sunderland, from both of which places he has been convicted of felony, may be found in the company of betting men ; was wearing stolen overcoat, brown trousers, lace- up boots, and hard felt hat. A warrant has been granted for his apprehension. Informa- tion to Mr. Superintendent Dunn, County Constabulary Office, Durham.— Bow- street, November 20. Description of JOHN BAILEY, a watch and clock maker, or repairer, charged on warrant under the Bailee Act with absconding with a silver Watch, which had been entrusted with him to repair : about 27 years of age, S ft. 9 inches high, sallow complexion, dark brown hair, slender build, lost right leg, walks with a crutch. He booked his fur- niture from Wolverton to Shorditch, London, on 28th ultimo, in the name of JO BIN BEEBY. He may exhibit a few common silver watches and some old copper coins ; he also deals in tobacco and cigars. Information to Inspector Webb, Stony Stratford, Buckinghamshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, November 20. Stolen on 15th instant, from a cow- shed at Ore : a dark checked tweed Coat, nearly new. Supposed by a tramping labourer, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, dark complexion, hair, whiskers, and moustache; dressed in blue serge frock, moleskin trousers, long brown leggings, and a cap. Information to Mr. Superintendent Dennis, Guestling, or any Police Station in East Sussex.— Bow- street, Nov. 20. Absconded on 16th instant, stealing ,£ 40 in Gold and Silver : a clerk, 29 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, pale complexion, pockmarked, clean shaved; dressed in brown overcoat, ditto under, dark trousers, black round hard felt hat; hesitates when speaking, has lately been employed as a clerk, at Palace Chambers, Bridge- street, Westminster.— — Metropolitan Police, A Division, November 20. Absconded from Yentnor, I. W., on 9th instant : RICH. KING, lately a bank manager, charged with stealing £ 1000 in £ 10 Bank of England Notes, numbered— 26 | c 41821 to 40, April 4 ; and 26 | c 41851 to 950, April 4. He is about 39 years of age, about 5 ft. 5 ins. high, sallow complexion, dark hair, slight moustache, slight whiskers, and stoutish make ; dressed " in dark clothes. He is of rather nervous tempera- ment, has a down- cast look, is accompanied by his wife who is about the same age ; she is of sallow complexion, and has long sharp features. Information to Deputy Chief Constable Horan, County Police Station, Newport, Isle of Wight, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, Nov. 20. Stolen from a bedroom, on 16th instant, at 1, Cross- street, Wellington- mews, the property of Frederick Gurd : a dark blue Overcoat, velvet collar, pockets at sides, a small ticket pocket, and one inside breast, black striped lining ; a light plaid Coat, pockets on hips and outside breast, grey lining ; a Vest, same pattern ; and two white pocket Handkerchiefs, one marked ' F.' By Henry Goldsmith, a shoemaker, about 28 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, fair complexion, dark hair, whiskers, and moustache ; dressed in dark clothes, black felt hat; when last seen was wearing the stolen Overcoat. Has been a soldier, and belongs to the Army Reserve. Has an impediment in his speech. Had with him a bag such as P O L ICE ( r A Z, E T T E. carried by soldiers with regimental number upon it. Will apply for employment as a shoemaker. Information to Chief Superintendent Glenister, Hastings, Sussex.— Bow- street, November 20. Absconded on 9th instant, charged on a warrant with embezzlement: J. W. SMITH, late collector to Messrs. Cockerill and Co., coal merchants, in the city of London, 24 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, slender build, small round face, pale complexion, dark brown hair and moustache ( small) ; wore a black frock coat, and high hat; stoops when walking. £ 10 reward will be paid by Mr. Mason, Purfleet Wharf, Upper Thames- street, on apprehen- sion and conviction of the accused. Information to Inspector Mc Williams, City of London Police, Deteitive Department, 26, Old Jewry, E. C.— Bow- street, November 20. Description of a man charged with stealing trom the residence of a gentleman, near Birkenhead, on 12th instant: a silver lever Watch, makers Poths and Son, of Leeds, had attached a silver Guard, with two Indian Coins, and a silver watch Key ; also a pair of gentleman's shooting Boots, i ot nailed : he is about 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, fresh complexion, blue eyes, light brown hair, no whiskers, and light brown moustache; stated that he had been employed in New Brighton, Cheshire, and Southport, Lan- cashire, as a gentleman's servant, and had the appearance of a coachman.
