Further information relative to the two men advertised'' in the Police Gazette of 15tli ultimo, charged with shooting Constable Seats, at Quedgley, near Gloucester, with intent to murder him : a warrant has now been issued for the appre- hension of SAMUEL ELLIS, by trade a mason, he is known to the Metropolitan detectives as GEO. FRAGLEY, alias TREGLEY, alias DEAF GEORGE, and is a ticket of leave man, having been convicted in Devon, of house- breaking with violence, and sentenced to 8 years penal servitude. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Con- stable Chipp, Police Station, Gloucester.— Bow- street, June 3. Description of JAMES COMER, charged on warrant • with feloniously wounding Patrick Lyons on 23rd instant, at Patrington Haven, Holderness : 25 years of age, 5 feet S inches high, broad shouldered, thin faced, dark complexion and eyes, black hair, cropped short and close at back of head, no - whiskers or moustache, a few black hairs only about face, had a bad black eye received in a fight, a native of Ireland, and a farm labourer ; dressed in an old discoloured pi ot jacket, cut short and raw edged, fustian trousers, tight in the legs, fustian waistcoat, dark woven Scotch cap with peak, lightish laced boots with toecaps, half worn, and woollen and calico shirts. He is supposed to be on tramp. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Gibson, Sproatley, Hull, or to Inspector Robertson, Patrington, Hull, Yorkshire, who holds the war- rant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, May 31. other very much scratched inside outer case; a black cloth frock Coat, two pockets in skirts behind, and one outside left breast ( man's size), nearly new ; and about .£ 11 10s. in Gold. Silver and Copper Moneys. Entrance effected by unlocking the shop- door. During the night of 27th instant, a dwelling- house was burglariously entered at Bolton, and stolen therein : a pair of woman's elastic- side Boots, quite new, with block fronts, and pegged ; two pairs of men's low- down Shoes, with three brass eyelets on each side, brass rivetted, No. 5 size, and quite new. Entrance effected by breaking a pane of glass and vising mud to deaden the sound. Information to be given to Chief Con- stable Holgate, Bolton, Lancashire.— Bow- street, May 29. Stolen by means of housebreaking at Tilstock, Salop, between 10 p. m. on 23rd, and 6 p. m. on" 24th instant: a black corded cloth Coat, single- breasted, three buttons on front, two ditto on hips, two pockets in the skirts, one ditto inside left breast; a pair of Trousers, made from same cloth as above, fly fronts, hip pockets nearly new ; one black cloth Jacket, skirt pockets, one pocket inside left breast; a black cloth Vest; and a pair of black cloth Trousers, fall front, all man's size, the suit of black last named would be old : fashioned; an Umbrella, has been blown inside out, has some of tbe inside wires broken. Stolen ( by means of burglary) from the house of Ralph Clutton, Esq., in Reigate, between 11 p. m. 24th and 7 a. m. on 25th instant : a blue china Biscuit Box, ] ilated top and stand ; a double Sugar Stand, glass and plated ; a Sardine Box, plated ; a Tankard, embossed, gilt and oxidized silver ; ; a pair of: Candlesticks, red china ana gilt; a pair of Vases, oxidized silver and gilt; a Thermometer Weather Glass : silver gilt Oyster Shell with limpet shell at bottom ; also a brown Purse, containing about £ 2. Stolen between 7 and 11 p. m., on 3rd. instant, from the wiTRhot) of Mr. George Stevens, Great Bridge, V est trorn- pav nshop of Mr g ^ without a gift* aud the Description of WILLIAM CLARKE, a quack doctor for whose arrest a warrant has been issued, charging him with stealing a Horse, set of Harness, and a four wheeled Carriage, at Kings Lyim, on 11th ultimo, which have been recovered : about 40 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, brown hair, very florid healthy complexion, whiskers down edge of jaws ; dressed in dark mixture suit and low felthat, very respectable appear- ance ; speaks with Lancashire accent, and is accompanied by a woman about 25 years of age, thin, rather sallow complexion. Stolen during the night of 27th ultimo, from the stables at Cippenham Court, Bucks ': a black cart Horse, 9 years old, 16) hands high, half of face white, a sore on the upper part cf off shoulder," chafed on off side just behind shoulder, and his had a hook run through the near nostril which caused a small lump to rise inside, a small white spot under the saddle, at d j was shod in front on 27th instant ; a black nag Mare, 7 yeais! old, 15 hands 1 inch high, white star on forehead, tail cut \ square, rather weak in forelegs; a set of Trace Harness, square iron buckles, brass mountings on halter and back band, with ' A' engraved on them, and iron hames ; a set of Shaft Harness wooden hames, double bit on halter, and brass mountings with the letter ' A' engraved on, one of them off the saddle; a Hunting Bridle, double reins, single bit ; a Riding Saddle with the tree broken in centre, double girths, and two hempen nose Bags, full of Corn ; a small dung Cart, very old and dirty, with the name of ' Edward Aldridge, Etonwick/ On the off side, nearly obliterated and covered with dirt; a pair of hempen plough Reins ; and about 6 trusses of Meadow Hay. A reward of 30 guineas will be paid on the conviction of t'ue offender or offenders and recovery of the property, viz.: 15 guineas by the Salt Hill Society, and 15 guineas by Mr. Edward - Aldridge,. the owner. A reward of £ b will be paid on recovery of the animal, and conviction of the offender or offenders. Stolen from Chalk, near Gravesend, Kent, during the night of 30th uithpo : a roan mare Pony, 7 years old, about 13" hands high, light knee broken ; a greengrocer's Van, painted black, hxd the name of ' James Stone. Stolen on night of 29tli instant, from Rotherfield, Sussex, the property of Henry Buck, farmer : a dark brown cart Horse, aged, about 16 hands high, off hind foot below the fetlock white, has a running sore in near fore fetlock, the near hind leg slightly swollen, value ,£ 20. Also the property of Henry Fairbrother, farmer, of Rotherfield : a heavy spring Cart, painted dark green, has a box on the seat, tail board lets down with chains, ' Henry Fairbrother, Rotherfield, Sussex,' painted 011 behind. Also the property of William Wilmshurst, of Stone Mill, Rotherfield : a nearly new set of brass- mounted Harness, maker Streatfield, Rotherfield, stamped in leather on hip stops, value £ 0. Stolen from Basing, during the night of 24th instant, the property of Martha Wellock : a black Mare, about 14 hands high, blind near eye, 14 years old, and in good con- dition ; a set of brass- mounted Harness, round buckles, about half worn ; also a spring Cart, painted black, Very much worn, foot board. split, tail board broken, and left wing split, name of ' Edward Wellock, Basing, Hants,' underneath tailboard. Stolen from Walsall, during the night of 26th instant, a dark bay mare Pony, 13 hands 2 inches high, 4 years old, long tail, black legs, and has a small white star 011 forehead ; also a brown horse, 15 hands high, 3 years old, and has black legs; and a brown horse, aged, 15 hands high, and is lame 011 the off hind leg. Stolen on 25th instant, from Georgiana- street, Camden Town: a red. roan Cob, 6 years old, 14 hands 2 iui; hes high, in good condition, trace marks on side, one blaek and three white fetlocks, named ' Dick,' and will stop when called ; a set of Harness, nearly new, and ' H. S.' 011 harness pad ; a light Spring Cart, painted chocolate, picked out with red, ' Harriet Smith' on shaft, and two bottom boards nearly worn through. S olen on 31st iiHinn, from a lodging house, three Blan- kets, one calico Shirt, one Table Cloth, one Apron, and one Chemise ; the table cloth and shirt have been found pledged by a woman 25 years of age, and rather short; dressed in a light dress and wore a dark coloured waterproof ; she left the same day of the robbery, in company with a tall navvy. In- formation to be given to the Head Constable, City Police Office, St. Alban's/ Herts.— Bow- street, - June 7. Description of JOHN CARD, alias JOHN GREY, a g; mner of Devon Artillery Militia, of Granby Barracks, jjevonport, who deserted 011 3.1st, charged on a warrant with stealing a Crocodile Skin Case, containing a £ 5 Bank of England Note, a Sovereign, and a liaiiwaay Return Ticket of G. W. R. ; from the Royal Hotel, Devonpoi', 011 31st idtirno ; the property of his employer, Lieutenant the Ilou. C. R. G. W. Bampfylde. Card; is a native of Wiucanton, Somerset, 26 yrs. of age, 5 feet Sf inches high, fair complexion, brown hair, blue ^ eyes, small moustache, tui- n- np nose, has had 011 injury to his leg, is smart and active ; dressed when last seen in a brown- grey suit, a new light- mixed helmet- shaped hat, and may be wearing a shirt which was Stolen. He has been con- ,- icted. of fraud in Somersetshire ; was formerly in 18th Hus- sars ; frequents race courses, and is well known to cab drivers, horse trainers, & e. Rad a' brother working in Bristol as a smith. Information to be given to Inspector Evans, Borough Police, Devonport, Devonshire, who holds a wan- ant for his apprehension;— Bow- street, June 7. Stolen from the dwehingdiouse of Thomas Baker, at Horncastle, on 30th ultimo: a Blanket and two Sheets ( recovered), and two Pillow and one Bolster Cases. By a mail and woman. The man is from 33 to 40 years of age, 5 ft. 2 inches high, slim build, light brown hair and small whiskers, sallow complexion, is very bow- legged, and is a tramping tailor; dressed in black fro; k coat, wears it buttoned by the bottom button, drab trouser?, and black or dark billy hat. The woman, who passes cs his wife, is about 35 years of age, very low of stature, thin face, and an irregular set of teeth ; dressed shabbily. She is believed to be a native of Derby ; the man is a native of Nottingham, and amongst his mates usually goes by the name of ' Nottingham.' They are both suffering from itch, and will most likely; lodge at Union Workhouses, lodging houses, or low beerhouses. ' Information • H 2 POLICE GAZETTE, June 7 to be given ta Mr. Superintendent Truelove, County Police Station, Horncastle, Lincolnshire.— Bow- street, Jurie d. Absconded on 7 th ultimo, charged with larceny -: a man, 26 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, dark complexion, hair, eyes, and tuft on chin; dressed in cord trousers, white slop, black hard felt hat, violet and white neckerchief ; he is a native of Worthing, Sussex, and is well known at Dover and South Coast, as an attendant on small fishing craft.— Metropolitan Police, P Division, Jmw 7. Description of WILLIAM NEWSON, alias GREY, a tailor, who absconded from Newmarket, on 29th April last,; charged on a warrant with stealing a Coat, double breast and cutaway skirts ; a pair of Trousers, full flaps, of new treble milled ' blask mixture tweed; and also with being the bailee of certain grey Tweed ( not recovered), and feloniously con- verting it to his own use : he is about 45 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stout, dark complexion, full whiskers and moustache, wears gold ear- rings, and a plain gold ring on his little finger. Is a member of a Volunteer Ride Corps, an active member of the Tailor's Society, and is supposed to be wearing the stolen coat and trousers. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Benson, Newmarket, Cambs. — Bow- street, June 7. Description of two tramping chimney sweepers, charged on warrants with stealing a Chimney Sweeping Machine, at - Westoning, Beds, on 27th ultimo, the property of William Chance, since recovered : WILLIAM GRAY, about 19 years of age, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, narrow features, no whiskers ; dressed in old dark clothes and cap. JAMES GRAY, about 14 years of age, 4 feet 10 inches high, walks lame ; dressed in old dark clothes and cap. These lads are brothers, and natives of Winslow, Bucks, they seek employment as chimney Sweepers at villages, farm houses, & c., and do their work with brush and scraper. Information to be given to Mr. Superin- tendent James, Police Station, Ampthill, Bedfordshire.— Bow- street, June 7. Description of a man who took lodgings at and Hotel in Margate on 28th ultimo, from which he stole two diamond Rings from bedrooms : 24 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark hair, thin face, long nose, red at the end, and light moustache ; dressed in black cut- away coat, black vest, grey trousers, round hat, wears a massive ring on each hand ( one apparently all gold). The Rings stolen were— a gentleman's gold ( engraved) Ring, set with a straw- coloured diamond, and a lady's gold Ring, small diamond, set in a lump of gold. Information to be " given to Head Constable Romanis, Margate, Kent.— Bow- street, June 7. Stolen on 21st ultimo, from Tattershall, the property of Joseph Richardson : a Wheat Hoe and Shaft. By a man, about 28 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, pale complexion, grey or blue eyes, dark hail-, and slender figure. He is a tramping labourer, and calls on farmers asking for employ- ment. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Truelove, Connty Police Station, Horncastle, Lincolnshire.— Bow- street, June 7. Further information respecting the tramping tailor, adver- tised in'the Police Gazette of 27th ultimo, on suspicion of steal- ing a Watch and Chain from the Prince of Wales' Inn, Welsh- pool, on 24th ultimo : he was traced to near Oswestry on the day of the robbery and a watch was seen in his possession of the same description as the one stolen ; it is supposed he belongs to the tailors' society, as a card was seen in his possession with ' Thomas Hays ' upon it. £ 1 reward will be paid on convic- tion, and recovery of the Watch, & c. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Ellis, or to Sergeant Breeze, Welsh- pool, Montgomeryshire.— Bow- st., June 7. Stolen during the night " of 28th ultimo, from Mount Pleasant, Glamorganshire : two flannel Waistcoa+ s, lined with calico round the top of neck and armpits, and a small button in each collar ; a calico Shirt ( man's size) with cloth collar and wristbands and five buttons in the front; two calico Shirts ( boy's size), one of which has a cloth collar and wrist- bands, and three buttons in each front ; a pair of woman's white woollen Stockings, and two white Pocket- handkerchiefs. Supposed by a man about 60 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, grey whiskers all round the face, and stoops when walk- ing ; dressed in old dark clothes, and when last seen was carrying a guano bag over his shoulder. Information to be given to the Chief Constable, Newtown, Montgomeryshire.— Bow- street, June 5. Stolen from the dwelling house of John Butler, at East Winch, on 1st instant: a blue narrow- ribbed cloth Coat and a grey checked Waistcoat: by a man about 45 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, dark complexion and dark bushy whiskers ; dressed in an old black cloth eoat, dirty grey trou- sers and low black hat. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Ward, Docking, Kings Lynn, Norfolk.— Bow- street, June 5. Description of CHARLES FORSDICK, alias FOSTER, charged on a warrant with stealing .£ 36 from an Inn at Brighton, in which he had been employed as potman : he is about 17 years of age, fair complexion, round face, rather pale, carries his head over his right shoulder, light grey eyes, cast in left, slightly deaf ; dressed in black jacket and waist- coat, light pepper and salt mixture trousers, and black felt hat. Information to be given to Chief Constable Barnden, Brighton, Sussex.— Bow- street, June 5. Stolen from the cabin of a boat at Blackrod, between 1 and 8 a. m. on 31st ultimo : a man's blue pilot cloth Jacket, lined with snuff- coloured cloth, mingled with white, sleeves lined with white twilled cotton, one row of black bone buttons down each side, two pockets outside with flaps, and one inside left breast, a small spot of tar on right shoulder, and another near the bottom on right side, and in good condition. Also stolen from a pigeon cote at Edgeworth, between 7 p. m. on 31st ultimo, and 6 a. m. on 1st instant : fourteen Pigeons, two silver- coloured hens, one ash cock, one red cock, with ruffled breast, four blue hens, three blue coeks, one red hen, and one black hen with white feather in one wing, and a blue hen. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Holland, County Police Office, Bolton, Lancashire.— Bow- st., June 5. Stolen from a dwelling- house at Warrington, at 5 a. m. on 2nd instant: a dark pilot cloth monkey Jacket, patched under each arm ; a puce and white plaid wool Shawl; a white linen Apron ; a pair of men's strong lace- up Boots ; a pair light ditto; a blue flannel Under Shirt ; a pair of blue woollen Stockings ; a black felt Hat, low crown; and a quantity of Beef, Bacon, Tea, and Sugar. By two men. who had lodged in the house three nights : 1st, SAMUEL ROBINSON, a puddler, 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, light complexion, and short light hair and moustache; dressed in black coat, drab cord trousers and vest, black cloth cap, and a p. flir of the , etolen boots. 2nd, name unknown, about 38 years of flge, about 5 feet 8 in& es high, fresh complexion, broad face, Sight hair and moustache ; dressed in long black coat, Wise vest, moleskin trousers, avid black cloth cap. They are said to be known at Wigan, Stockton, Darlington, and other iron towns of the North of England. Information to be given to Chief Constable Hunt, Borough Poliee, Warrington, Lancashire.— — Bovi- greet, June 5. Charged at Morpeth, on a warrant, with largeny, as a bailee, of a silver lever Watch : THOMAS HOLDING, watchmaker, about 34 years of age, 4 feet 10 inches high, dark brown hair, thin whiskers, heavy moustache, shaved on chin; generally dressed in a grey tweed suit, hard round black hat, is a cripple through some injury about his back, very short legs, body much bent forward, walks on right toe. and always with a stick, and speaks the South County dialect. Was in business in Morpeth for a few months, and absconded on 30th April last; was then accompanied by a woman named Mary Wear, about 24 years of age, light hair, ad medium height.
