W. W.' on it. It is suspected that they will go abroad if possible. Between 5' 30 and 8 pm. on 6th instant, the dwelling- house of Mary Ann Legg, was broken into and entered, and stolen therein: an old- fashioned silver hunting Wat ill, one hand missing ; two gold Rings oue with red atone, the other pink; a gold Pencil- case; a small gold Brooch wiili pearls; aud two Sovereigns. Supposed by two men, one about 35 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark hair, thick mous- tache, and stout build ; dressed iu a dark overcoat, and high box hat; the other a'lout 27 jears of age, 5 feet 7 iuche' high, aud fair complexion ; dressed iu a grey ulster, and a black felt hat. Description of GEORGE CHALLINER, alias ROPER, charged with feloniously assaulting and stealing £- 1 19s, from the person of Martin Rush, iu Lichfield, on 2lth September last: about 22 years oi age, 5 feet 8 inches hiab proportionately built, fn- sh complexion, light brown hair' grey eyes, and little or no whiskers. Likely to be workings a navvy, or plate- layer ou railway works, and is a native of Woodgate, near Wednesbury. Carrier, a Horse, spring Cart, and set of Harness ( finer recovered); a black Macintosh, torn on the right shoulder, was stolen at the same time, which it is likely he may stilt have in bis possession : a lout 23 years of age, about a feet 6 inches bigh, rather slight build, fair complexion, no beard or moustache, and of good address; dressed lu nearly new light suit, ready made lace- up boots, with toe- caps. Has in his possession a brown and white fox terrier Bitch. Sich,' in cover or on fly leaf. Also stolen on 9: h instant-, from No. 5, Lismore- road, Eastbourne. 8 silver Table Spoons, some marked ' J R.' and soma ' W. C R ' in Roman capitals, one or more has monogram ' J. R.' or ' C. Information to be given to Chief Constable Poyn'z Borough Police Station, Nottingham.— Bm- street: January 7. Stolen from the Officers Quarters, Infantry Barracks, Windsor, on 2nd instant : a gold breast Psu, and a set of Studs. By a ina. ii 35 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, long < ta> k beard, wears blue spectacles, stoops when walkit g; dressed in long ulster coat, black deersta ker hat. He also visited the Cavalry Barracks at Windsor, the Officers Guard Room at Windsor Castle, and Eton College. Description of WILLIAM JAMES LEACH clerk, late of Over darwen, absconded, charged wieh stealing on 6th November last, at Over Oil'- ven, the sum of £ 15 15s. 6d the money* of his employers He is from £ 0 to 23 years of age, light, hair, blue eyes, and pale looking ; dressed wbeu last seen in grey tweed clothing, and black felt hat. He wears artificial teetb, and lisps, is a native of Over Darwen, fond of company, and an inveterate smoker of cigars. Description of a tramp who gave the name of ROBERT POUND, and who is remanded at Chippenham till 12> h inst., chaiged with having in his possession a lady's gold Ring, get with 6 tuiqmuse stones, one of the stones missing, which is supposed to fie e. toleu : he is about 39 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, dar k complexion, little whiskers down side of face, chin shaved clean, bald on top of head, two large wounds on top of head, and one across the bridge of nose ; dressed in an old soft felt ha'-, pilot cloth jacket, cord trousers, and old lace- up boots.
