DESCRIPTION of Michael O'Neill, wanted on Warrant at Batley, in the West riding of the county of York, England, charged, with 6 others now in custody, with feloniously killing and murdering Police Con- stable William Peet, whilst in the execution of his duty, on the night of the 8th December, 1877, at Batley aforesaid :— About 22 years of age. 5 feet 6 inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, cut short, and very stiff and wiry, had very slight brown whiskers and moustache, only just growing, brown eyes, round face, high ch'elc bines, small chin with dimple in centre, and two oj his Jront teeth in upprr jaw overlap each other; supposed to be dressed in black cloth coat or blue pilot jacket, black cloth or mole- skin trowsers, cloth cap, with ear- laps tied over the top, and elastic- side boots. He is a native of Shomer, near Kilkelly, couniy Mayo, Ireland. Information to be given to Captain T. Stuart. Chief Constable's Office, Wakefield, Dec. 17, 1877- ( 15474 c.— 27177 ) SCOTTISH POLICE. COUNTY OF DONEGAL. DESCRIPTION of David Bond, Edward J. Henderson, and Henry Johnson, natives of England, who stand charged with having, on the 23rd October, 1877, in the city of Glasgow, fraudulently obtained from a gentleman in Donegal, a Hungarian bond for £ 300, with which they absconded :— 1. Red fleshy lips, double chin, squints a little with one eye, no beard or whiskers, abou' 16 stone weight; red eves, regular nose, red complexion, * ed face, very stout make, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, about 50 years of age, reddish hair; wore a silk hat, black frock coat, dark trowsers and vest. 2. Well built, slight fair moustache, fair com- plexion, red face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 28 years of age ; wore a gray hat, blue over- coat, gray trowsers and vest, yellow kid gloves. 3. Black whiskers and moustache, dark com- plexion, ordinary make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 35 or 40 years of age; wore a felt hat, dark coat, dark trowsers and vest. Ballyshannon, Nov. 12,1877. DESCRIPTION of English licence holder Francis Hickey ( 277), who has broken the conditions of his licence in failing to notify his change of residence to the Constabulary:— Convicted at Mahe, India, at a General Court- Martial, on 17th November, 1873, for insubordination and personal violence, and sentence d to 5 years' penal servitude; 30 years of age on c n- viction, a soldier 49th Regiment, born in Clonmel, county Tipperary; brown hair, large blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular visage, 5 feet 7 inchcs high. The above- named convict was released from Portsmouth Convict Prison, on the 27th October, 1877, on an order of licnece. He notified h: s arrival at Waterford to the Con- stabulary of that city, on tho llth November, 1877, but he has not since reported himself, ^ id his present whereabouts is unknown. ( IQI 54 M,- 19838,) DESCRIPTION of convict Thomas Mathews ( 13780), who has broken the conditions of his licence, in not reporting himself to the police on change of resi- dence :— Convicted at Castleblayney, co. Monaghan. at Hilary Sessions, on l" th January, 1872, for larceny, and previous conviction, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude; 30 years of age on conviction, can read and write, is a Roman Catholic, single, by trade a painter, born in Castlebellingham; resided before conviction in M on a ah an ; fair hair, blue eyes, fair eyebrows, regular nose, regular mouth, lost one upper front tooth, fresh complexion, oval visage, stout make, 5 feet 6$ inches high ; a small cut and a sore- mark on the back of neck ; the two small fingers of both hands crooked. Tho above named convict was released from Spike Island Prison, on the 16th October, 1877, on an order of licence, and took his discharge for London, on the 4th instant; he notified to the London Police his intention of returning to Dublin, but he has not reported himself there, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under the 5th sec., Prevention of Crimes Act, 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. General Prisons Board, Dublin Castle, 19th December, 1877. ( 12154 M.— 19835.) DESCRIPTION of convict Thomas Culling (" 2531), who has broken the conditions of his licence in failing to notify to the Police his change of residence :— Convicted at Dublin city October Sessions, on 3rd October, 1873, for larceny, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude ; 46 years of age on conviction, can read and write, is a Protestant, single, a tutor, born in Galway; resided before conviction in College- green, Dublin ; his friends reside in county Galway ; dark brown hair, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, sharp nos regular mouth, sallow complexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 5J inches high; slightly pock- marked, a burn- mark on right cheek, along the whiskers. The above- named convict was released from Lusk Prison, on the lHth September, 1877, on an order of licence, and proceeded to Dublin, where he reported himself to the Police. He resided for some time in the Dublin dis# ict, but left his residence about the 1st October last, without notifying same to the Police. He has not reported himself since, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under the 5th section of the Prevention of Crimes Act, 34 and 35 Vic., cap. I > J. General Prisons Eoard, Lower Castle Yard, Dublin, December 13, 1877. ( 12117 m.—- 1& 766.) DESCRIPTION of the under- mentioned, who is wanted on Warrant charging him with having obtained goods by false pretences from trades- people in Dublin:— Charles Doyle, about 32 years old, 5 feet 8 inches high, dark brown hair, dark brown whiskers and moustache, chin shaved, pale complexion, and marked very much about the nose with small- pox; dressed in a dark tweed Derby coat, shabby gray tweed trow- sers and vest, and round jerry hat; he is a native ; came back from America lately, and said he had a return ticket to go back by the steamship Germania. C. on each end, canvas cover, same initials on ends, containing the following articles, viz.— a new dress suit, made by Buckmaster, Dawson- street, a morning suit, a sliawl- pattern dressing gown ( red flannel lining), about 8 linen shirts ( 2 fancy), 2 night shirts, 1 pair of merino drawers, 2 silk under- vests; the name Buckmaster supposed on inside of collars of coats, on inside of back straps of vests, on inside of waistbands of trow- sers, and on buttons of latter; 1 dozen collars, 6 silk and 6 cambric pocket- handkerchiefs, and some silk ties, 1 dressing- case well furnished, 1 pair of London made razors with ivory halts ( I of latter split), 1 French razor strop ( maker Eubriel), 1 pair hair- brushes in case, 1 long tortoise- shell comb ( a tooth broken), a large magnifying glass mounted in metal, a small do. mounted in tortoise- shell, a large white ivory double opera- glass, a complete set of ivory teeth ( gold springs), I fancy inkstand ( double cover), a Roman Catholic prayerbook ( bound in Russian lea- ther, a cross on cover), several reading essays, books, ifec., & c., a silver- mounted cigar case to hold 8 cigars, a brown leather do., about 18 cabinet cigars, and 1 onyx breast- pin, with studs to match. DESCRIPTION of a man and woman, names unknown, who are wanted on suspicion of having stolen a cow, which they had in their possession, and offered lor sale to a butcher at Bull- alley, between 4 and 5 A. M., on the 10th instant:— The man is about 45 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, stout build, sandy hair and whiskers, chin shaved, full face, and fresh complexion; dressed in an old brown fipck coat, light tweed trowsers, and soft jerry hat. • The woman is 30 to 35 years of age. low size, full feature*, and pale complexion ; wore an old dark straw bonnet and old light colour plaid shawl. Both ran away, leaving the cow behind, when they saw some hesitation about buying her. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, at about the hour of six o'clock, p. m., on tfie 10th instant, Mr. John Moffitt, of Clan- turkle, near Kinawley, in the county of Fermanagh, was fired at and wounded by some pe son ' or persons at present unknown : His Grace, for the better apprehending and bring- ing to justice the perpetrators Of this outrage, is pleased hereby to oiler a reward of TWO HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information a, si shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who committed the same, and a further reward of FIFTY POUNDS for such private information as may lead to the same result By His Grace's Command, T. L. Naper, J. P., N l.), at Newcastle, seriously assaulted him, and forcibly carried away his gun :— 1. Sligo. mie special attention of the Constabulary i is directed to the following: DESCRIPTION of Thomas Hunt, ( mother's surname Quigley,) native of Knockgranagh, who stands charged with having, on the 29th November, ult., in the barony of Leyny, parish of Achonry, murdered John M'Gloin, by fracturing his skull with a large stone :— Doum- looking appearance, two upper front teeth large and prominent,, high cheek bones, large heavy lips, sunken jaws, very broad shoulders; it is also stated that Hunt's left wrist is tattooed; glaring black eyes, slightly cocked nose, sallow complexion, oval face, stout make, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, about 27 or 28 years of age, black hair, small dark moustache ; wore a dark cloth coat, trowsers, and vest. Was in America, and lately returned from England, where he worked as a labourer. Has a pair of English- made navvy boots with iron plates under toes, also a pair of light Wellington boots. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Kielty' ( mother's surname M'Gowan), native of Cultytigue, who stands charged with having, on the 3rd December, 1877, at Battle- field. in the barony of Leyny, parish of Toomour, with 6 pthers ( in custody), seriously assaulted Patrick Lavin, so as to endanger his life:— An old cut- mark on cheek, supposed left; blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, very full face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 18 years of age, thin fair hair; wore a soft cap, with flaps, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest 5 is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of Patrick M'Carron, native of Convoy, county Donegal, who stands charged with having, on the 12th day of November, 1877, at Strabane, in the barony of Strabane Lower, parish of Camus, county of Tyrone, robbed Charles Gormley, of Lon- donderry, of £ 12 ( 1 £ 10 and 2 £ l notes on Bank of Ireland), and a silver watch with silver dial, No. 6,957, having first rendered him insensible by drug- ging rum, which Gormley drank:— Pockmarked, a little full in cheek bones, pointed at chin; gray eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, full face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark hair; wore a soft hat, blue under coat and brown over coat, gray trowsers, and blue vest; formerly a schoolmaster, now a cattle dealer.
