All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry, are to be transmitted under cover addressed to the Inspector- General of Constabulary. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. As the Law ( 48 Geo. 3, c. 140, s. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hue- and- Cry. DUBLIN, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 1877. SCOTTISH POLICE. COUNTY OF DONEGAL. DESCRIPTION of David Bond, Edward J. Henderson, and Henry Johnson, natives of England, who stand charged with having, on the 23rd October, I8' 7, in the city of Glasgow, fraudulently obtained from a gentleman in Donegal, a Hungarian bond for £ 301', t with which they absconded :— 1. Red fleshy lips, double chin, squints a little with one eye, no beard or whiskers, about 16 stone weight; rod eyes, regular nose, red complexion, red face, voly stout make, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, about on years of age, reddish hair; wore a silk hat, black frock coat, dark trowsers and vest. 2. Well built, slight fair moustache, fair com- plexion, red face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 28 years of age ; wore a gray hat, blue over- coat, gray trowsers and vest, yellow kid gloves. 3. Black whiskers and moustache, dark com- plexion, ordinary make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 35 or 40 years of age; wore a felt hat, dark coat, dark browsers and vest. Ballyshannon, Nov. 13, 1877. DESCRIPTION of the under- mentioned, who is wanted on Warrant charging him with having obtained goods by false pretences from trades- people in Dublin :— Charles Doyle, about 32 years old, 5 feet 8 inches high, dark brown hair, dark brown whiskers and moustache, chin shaved, pale complexion, and marked very much about the nose with small- pox ;• dressed in a dark tweed Derby coat, shabby gray tweed trow- sers and vest, and round jerry hat; he is a native : came back from America lately, and said he had a return ticket to go back by the steamship Germania. STOLEN from the North- wall, Dublin, on the 17th August, 1877, the following articles, the property of a passenger, between Holyhead and Dublin, viz. :— A brown leather portmanteau, J. C. on each end, canvas cover, same initials on ends, containing the following articles, viz — a new dress suit, made by Buckmaster, Dawson- street, a morning suit, a shawl- pattern dressing gown ( red flannel lining), about 8 linen shirts ( 2 fancy), 2 night shirts, 1 pair of merino drawers, 2 silk under- vests; the name Buckmaster supposed on inside'of collars of coats, on inside of back straps of vests, on inside of waistbands of trow- sers, and on buttons of latter; I dozen collars, 6 silk and 6 cambric pocket- handkerchiefs, and some silk ties, 1 dressing- case well furnished, I pair of London made razors with ivory hafts ( 1 of latter split), I French razor strop ( maker Eubriel), 1 pair hair- brushes in case, 1 long tortoise- shell comb ( a tooth broken), a large magnifying glass mounted in metal, a small do. mounted in tortoise- shell, a large white ivory double opera- glass, a complete set of ivory teeth ( gold springs), 1 fancy inkstand ( double cover), a Roman Catholic prayerbook ( bound in Russian fea- ther, a cross on cover), several reading essays, books, ^ c., & e., a silver- mounted cigar esse to hold 8 cigars. DESCRIPTION of a mat? ^ nd w ..- JIIOO UUHUOWN, who are wanted on suspicion of having stolen a cow, which they had in their possession, and offered tor sale to a butcher at Bull- alley, between 4 and 5 A. M., on the 10th instant:— The man is about 45 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, stout build, sandy hair and whiskers, chin shaved, full face, and fresh complexion ; dressed in an old brown frock coat, light tweed trowsers, and soft jerry hat. The woman is 30 to 35 years of age, low size, full features, and pale complexion ; wore an old dark straw bonnet and old light colour plaid shawl. Both ran away, leaving the cow behind, when they saw some hesitation about buying her. DESCRIPTION of James Reynolds, wanted for stealing £ 40 from his master on 14th instant, and absconding:— He is between 17 and 18 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, ruddy complexion, dark hair inclined to curl, light blue eyes, marks of boils on side of neck ; wore a black cloth jacket, low- crowned hat; speaks with a strong North of Ireland accent; was a page; is a native of Whitehall, Ballymena, county Antrim, where his parents are supposed to reside. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Pepper, native of Ferns, county Wexford, and James Murphy, native of Wexford, who stand charged with having, on the 21st November, 1877, at the fair of Tullow, in the barony of Rathvillv, parish of Tullowphelim, had in their possession two asses and an ass's dray for which they could not satisfactorily account, and which are supposed to be stolen ; they are remanded for 8 days, pending inquiry :— 1. Thomas Pepper— Cut- mark over corner of le t eye, walks as if lame, left wrist disjointed ; light gray eyes ( look as if weak), thin nose, pale complexion, pale face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 23 years of age, fair hair, fair moustache, a few fair hairs on chio ; wore a round jerry hat, brown serge sack coat, dark tweed trowsers, tweed vest, has tender feet, boots cut in places. 2. James Murphy— Boat tattooed on right arm. bracelet and crown on left arm; full gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet o inches high, about 25 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a soft round jerry hat, dark tweed coat, tweed trowsers and vest, old Militia boots ; says he is a native of Wexford and belongs to the Militia Cavan. James Keogh, described in Hue- and- Cry of 20th April last, surrendered the 23rd instant, and failing identification, was discharged from custody. The special attention of the Constabulary is directed to the following: DESCRIPTION of John Ryan, native of Cooladerrv* county Cork, E. R., who stands charged with having, on the 22nd. March, 1875, in the barony of Coshlea, parish of Kilbeheny, fired at Patten S. Bridge, esq., agent to Nathaniel Buckley, esq., Galtee Castle:— Rather short neck, slightly round shoulders; brown eyes, hooked nose, fresh slightly freckled complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark brown curly hair, sandy whiskers; wore a dark coat, cord trowsers, light vest. Mitchelstown, March 24, 1875. ( 5182 o.— 9507.) DESCRIPTION of 2 persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 30th March, 1876, in the barony of Condons and Clangibbon, parish of Mitchelstown, been two of a party who fired at and wounded Patten Bridge, esq., and Constable Mathew Nugent, and shot John Hyland dead at same time and place 1. Unknown— Fair complexion, stout make, 5 feet in inches high, about 35 years of age, sandy whiskers nearly meeting under the chin ; wore a cloth frock coat; had his face blackened. 2. Unknown— Fair complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 35 years of age, large sandy whiskers; wore a soft hat, faded cloth coat. Mitchelstown, April 5, 1876. DESCRIPTION of 3 sheep, the property of Denis Kane, which were stolen from the lands of Rea, parish of Abbeystrowry, barony of East Division of West Carbery, on the 25th day of No^ mber, 1* 77:— Three white ewes, in lamb, about 4 years of age, not branded, value for £ 3 each. Skibbereen, Nov. 26, 1877. ( 15220 c— 26724.) DESCRIPTION of 2 sheep, the property of Patrick Denehy, which were stolen from the lands of Tooreen South, parish of Mournabbey, barony of Barretts, on the night of 21st or morning of 22nd instant, and sold ( supposed by his son, John Dennehy), in Cork Market on 22nd instant:— 1. Ewe, white colour, top of right ear cut off, small black spot under and close to left ear, about 4 years old, in fair condition, and value tor £ 1 10s. J. K. Walsh, c. c. :— Slight twitching about the eyes ; hazel • eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 6 feet 5 or 6 inches high, about 2( 0 years of age, brown hair, light hair on jaws as if he never shaved; wore a low felt hat, old black frock coat, light tweed trowsers; is a servant boy. Smart active make, walks erect; long thin nose, sallow complexion, thin face, stoutish make, 5 feet 114 inches high, about 26 years of age, small mous- tache, no whiskers ; wore a jerry hat, faded greenish tight coat, dark trowsers. 2. Stooped shoulders; pale complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, 26 years of age ; wore a low jerry hat, faded greenish coat, dark trowsers. Ballinamore, Nov. 26, 1877. DESCRIPTION of 5 sheep, the property of John Ennis, which were stolen off his farm in Kilnamawe, parish of Carrigallen, and barony of Carrigallen, on the night of 10th November, 1 § 77 :— 1. A 4- year old ewe, light black spots 011 both ears, tail a little long. 2. A 3- year old ewe, rough over tail where she has been cured of maggots, dark stripes under eyes, smooth face. 3. A 2- year old ewe, 110 particular marks. 4. A 1^- vear old ewe, narrow over tail, light across the loins. 5. A - J- year old ram, very broad and strongly made. DESCKIPTION of 6 heifers, the property of Patrick Hennessy, farmer, of Chatsworth, county Kilkenny, which were stolen from the lands of Fossy Upper, parish of Tallamory, barony of Stradbally, on tho 21st day of November, 1877 :— 1. Two and a half years old, short horns some- what looped, with letters P. H. branded on right horn, spotted white and red al! over, in calf; value £ 16. 2. Exactly similar to No. 1. 3. One and a half years old, spotted red and whitfl cocked horns ; and value for £ 11. 4. One and a half years old, light roan colour, horns wide and short; value for £ 10. 5. One and a half years old, light roan colour, short horns, well bred ; value £ 9. 6. One and a half years old, roan colourod, coarss horns ; value £ 7 10s. DESCRIPTION of James Bradley, native of Glen- viggan, county Londonderry, who stands charged with having, on the 18th day of October, 1877, in the barony of Loughinsholin, parish of Ballinascreen, presented a gun at one James M'Namee, and at same time had his face blackened:— Awkward' heavy gait when walking; gray eyes, regular nose, pale com- plexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 25 years of age. The special attention of the Constabulary is directed to the following/ DESCRIPTION of Thomas Hunt, ( mother's surname Quigley,) native of Knockgranagh, who stands charged with having, on the 29th November, ult., in the barony of Leyny, parish of Achonry, murdered John M'Gloin, by fracturing his skull with a largo stone :— Down- looking appearance, two upper front teeth large and prominent, high cheek bones, large heavy lips, sunken jaws, very broad shoulders; it is also stated that Hunt's left urrist is tattooed; glaring black eyes, slightly cocked nose, sallow complexion, oval face, stout make, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, about 27 or 28 years of age, black hair, small dark moustache ; wore a dark cloth coat, trowsers, and vest. Was in America, and lately returned from England, where he worked as a labourer, Has a pair of English- made navvy boots with iron plates under toes, also a pair of light Wellington boots. DESCRIPTION of 2 persons, names unknown, ' who stand charged with having, on the 16th Novemb 1877, in the barony of Kilnamanagh, parish Toem, assaulted William Loughman, and taken fro him a six- chambered revolver with a bright; barrel of small bore:— 1. DESCBIPTION of Ellen Hickson, native of county Limerick, who stands charged with having, on the 21st November, 1877, in the barony of Iffa and Offa West, parish of Templetenny, wilfully exposed her female infant child, by leaving it naked in a stream, from the effect! of which death ensued on the 22nd instant:— Rather large teeth! separated in front; regular nose, fair, pale complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet high, about 34 years of age, fair hair; wore a black cloth mantle, much worn, brown linsev dress, black jacket, two aprons ( one lilac, the other black stuff), red stockings, and strong laced boots.
