DESCRIPTION of a man and woman, names unknown, who are wanted on suspicion of having stolen a cow, which they had in their possession, and offered for sale to a butcher at Bull- alley, between 4 and 5 A. M., on tho 10th instant:— The man is about 45 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, stout build, sandy hair and whiskers, i'. hin shaved, full face, and fresh complexion ; dressed in an old brown frock coat, light tweed trowsers, and soft jerry hat. Tho woman is 80 to 85 years of age,, low size, full features, and pale complexion ; wore an old dark straw bonnet and old light colour plaid shawl. Both ran away, leaving the cow behind, when they saw some hesitation about buying her. The cow has been claimed by Mr. Richard Graghan. of Kilmore, Coolock, and was stolen from his lands at that place. JOHN MALLON, Superintendent. Superintendent's Office, Aug. 20, 1877. DESCRIPTION of James Reynolds, wanted for stealing £ 40 from his master on 14th instant, and absconding:— He is between 17 and 18 years of ago, about 5 feet 7 inches high, ruddy complexion, dark hair inclined to curl, light blue eyes, marks of boils on sido of neck; wore a black cloth jacket, low- crowned hat; speaks with a strong North of Ireland accent; was a page; is a native of Whitehall, Ballymena, county Antrim, where is parents are supposed to reside. DESCRIPTION of a mare, at present in possession of the Police at Chancery- lane Police Station, and which is supposed to have been stolen:— A bay mare, white star on forehead, and white over fetlocks of hind legs, white spot under straddle, aged, and in poor condition. DESCRIPTION of John Smith, jun., native of Money- staghan Ellis, county of Londonderry, who stands charged with having, on the 29th August, 1877, in the barony of Lower Toome, parish of Portglenone, and county Antrim, abducted and has since detained Susan Mary Courtney, of Glenburn House, London- derry, she being under 16 years of age:— Gray eyes, slightly cocked nose, fair complexion, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 19 years of age, fair hair ; wore a low hat, dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest. DESCRIPTION of the under- named young offender, who, on the 10th August, 1877. absconded from the Malone Reformatory School, at Belfast. Robert Williamson, 10 years of age, light brown hair, blue eyes, sharp nose, full mouth, fresh com- plexion, sharp visage, slight make, 5 feet 2 inches high; pockpitted; mole below left breast; is a gardener; formerly belonged to Strandtown, Belfast; parents reside at same place. Dress worn by juvenile when he absconded:— Gray tweed jacket, moleskin trowsers and vest, white shirt, red checked necktie, woollen socks, and nailed boots. Believed to bo working on a farm in county Down. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expense of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. ( 11311 M.— 18410.) DESCRIPTION of John O'Neill, alias Fanny, native of co. Antrim, who stands charged with having, on 12th June, 1877, in the barony of Lower Glenarm, parish of Ardclinis, been one of two men who so seriously assaulted James Crawford that he died on the 17th inst. :— Brown eyes, thin nose, dark complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 36 years of age; wore a soft hat, dark frock coat, dark trowsers and vest, strong Wellington boots ; served in the Naval Reserve ; has the appearance of a man who has been at sea, but is a farmer. DESCRIPTION of Bernard Gormley ( mother's sur- name Hanley), native of Tarmon, who stands charged with having, on the 15th August, 1877, in the barony of Castlerahan, parish of Lurgan, seriously assaulted Owen Lynch, by striking him several blows on the head with a stick :— Bed freckled face, down- looking; gray eyes, regular nose, red complexion, full face, stout square make, 5 feet 10 inchcs h'gh, about 30 years of age, sandy hair arid moustache; wore a soft black hat, dark tweed Coat, daik trowsers and vest; is a farmer's son. Bridge, esq., agent to Nathaniel Buckley, esq., Galtee Castle:— Rather short neck, slightly round shoulders; brown eyes, hooked nose, fresh slightly freckled complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of ago, dark brown curly hair, sandy whiskers; wore a dark coat, cord trowsers, light vest. DESCRIPTION of Joseph Read ( mother's surname Brannagan), native of Tillytown, who stands charged with having, on the 25th day of July, 1877, at Shan- ganagh, in the barony of Rathdown, parish of Rath- michael, stolen a silver Geneva watch, value £ 2, and who having been bailed to appear at Petty Sessions to answer the charge, failed to do so:— A small scar on right side of mouth ; brown eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, round full face, stout make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 24 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a black coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest; is a groom'. Murley, native of Green- wich, Kent, who stands charged with having, on the 0th of September, 1877, in the barony of East Offaly, parish of Ballysux, forged the name of the Departmental Paymaster ' to several cheques, and received money for same :— Slight scar on upper lip, toes slightly turned in, moves his head up and down as if having'a tight collat on, mole on left breast; hazel eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, round face, smart' and active make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 25 years of age, looks younger, light brown hair; wore a dark tweed coat, tweed trowsers and vest; is a soldier; has the appearance of a clerk or shopboy. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, about the hour of a quarter past nine o'clock, on the evening of the 8th instant. Head Constable John O'Connors, of the Boyal Irish Constabulary, was fired at and grievously wounded by some persons at present unknown, • whilst returning from Dalgan to Dunmore, in the county of Galway: His Grace, for the better apprehending and bringing to justico the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE HUNDBED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who committed the same, and a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS for such private information as will lead to the same result. By His Grace's command, T. H. BURKE. The above rewards will be paid, on conviction, by A. F. Limerick, DESCRIPTION of Robert Walsh, native of Killinane, who stands charged with having, on the 1st Sep- tember, 1877, in the barony of Coshlea, parish of Galbally, committed rape on Sarah Moroney, of Keelogues :— Bow- legged, and turns in his toes when walking; blue or gray eyes, thick drooped nose, fresh complexion, round full face, very stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 27 years of age, light brown hair; wore a furry ' cap, dark tweed coat, trowsers and vest; is a farmer's SOn. DESCRIPTION of convict Thomas Riordan ( 2173), who has broken the conditions of his licence in not reporting himself to the Constabulary on change of residence:— Convicted in Limerick, at Hilary Sessions, on 25th January, 1873, for assault and - sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude ; 20 years of age on conviction, can read and write, is a Roman Catholic, single, is a labourer ; born in Oola, county Limerick, where he resided before conviction; his friends reside at same place; brown hair, gray eyes, brown eyebrows, regular nose,, regular mouth, fair complexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high; a slight cut on front of forehead; a large cut- mark on front, of right hand. The above- named convict was released from Lusk Prison, 13th February, 1877, on an order of licence to be at large, and took his discharge for Oola, county Limerick, where he reported himself to the Constabulary. He left Oola without reporting himself, but sent a letter to the Constabulary there on the 24th July, 1877, bearing, knocklong post- . mark. Relatives believe he TOnt_ near Emly, county Tipperary, but it is reported1 " hoTinay have left for America; present whereabouts is unknown. DESCRIPTION of James M'Fadden, native of county of Londonderry, who stands charged with having, on the 18th day of August, 1877, in the barony of Lower Liberties, parish of Templemore, assaulted William Lowry by striking him on the head with a hoe, which fractured his skull -.— Smart active appear- ance, rather good- looking ; full blue eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, regular face, slight make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 19 years of age, dark hair, small dark moustache; wore a billycock hat, dark coat, trowsers and vest; served in the Donegal Militia; is a labourer. The special attention of the Constabulary- is directed to the following: DESCRIPTION of Thomas Hunt, ( mother's surname Quigley,) native of Knockgranagh, who stands charged with having, on the 29th November, ult., in the barony of Leyny, parish of Achonry, murdered John M'Gloin, by fracturing his skull with a large stone :— Down- looking appearance, two upper front teeth large and prominent, high cheek bones,, large heavy lips, sunken jaws, very broad shoulders ; glaring black eyes, slightly cocked nose, sallow complexion, oval face, stout make, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, about 27 or 28 years of age, black hair, small dark moustache ; wore a dark cloth coat, trowsers, and vest. Was in America, and lately returned from England, where he worked as a labourer. Has a pair of English- made navvy boots with iron plates under toes, also a pair of light Wellington boots. DESCRIPTION of Jeremiah Keefe, native of Glengar, county Tipperary, v/ ho stands charged with having, on the 14tlx August, 1877, in the barony of Kilnama- nagh Upper, parish of Doon, assaulted Michael Kelly, of Curraghmarkey, by striking him on the head with a fork so as to endanger his life by frac- turing his skull:— Slovenly gait, turns out his toes; short neck, small blue eyes, slightly cocked nose, fair complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 30 years of age, fair hair, sandy whiskers nearly meeting under chin ; wore a soft round hat, old frieze frock coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest.
