DESCRIPTION of aman and woman, names unknown, who are wanted on suspicion of having stolen a cow, which they had in their possession, and offered- for sale to a butcher at Bull- alley, between 4 and 5 A. M., on the 10th instant :— Tho man is about 45 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, stout build, sandy hair and whiskers, chin shavod, full face, and fresh complexion ; dressed in nn old brown frock coat, light tweed trowsers, and soft jerry " hat. Tlio woman is 80 to 35 years of age, low size, full features, and pale complexion ; wore an old dark straw bonnet and old light colour plaid shawl. Both ran away, leaving tho cow behind, when they saw some hesitation about buying her. DESCRIPTION of James Reynolds, wanted for stealing £ 40 from his master on 14th instant, and absconding:— He is between 17 and 18 years of . ago, about 6 feet 7 inches high, ruddy complexion, dark hair inclined to curl, light blue eyes, marks of boils on side of neck; wore a black cloth jacket, low- crowned hat; speaks with a strong North of Ireland accent; was a page; is a native of Whitehall, Ballymonn, county Antrim, where is parents are supposed to reside. DESCRIPTION of a mare, at present in possession of tho Police at Chancery- lane Police Station, and which is supposed to have been stolen :— A bay mare, white star on forehead, and white over fetlocks of hind legs, white spot under straddle, aged, and in poor condition. Robert Williamson, 10 years of age, light brown hair, blue eyes, sharp nose, full mouth, fresh com- plexion, sharp visage, slight make, 5 feet 2 inches ® igli; pockpitted; mole below loft breast; is a gardener; formerly belonged to Strandtown, Belfast; parents reside at same place. Dress worn by juvenile when he absconded:— Gray tweed jacket, moleskin trowsers and vest, white shirt, red checked necktie, woollen socks, and nailed boots. Believed to be working on a farm in county Down. DESCRIPTION of John O'Neill, alias Fanny, native of co. Antrim, who stands charged with having, on 12th June, 1877, in the barony of Lower Glenarm, parish of Ardclinis, been one of two men who so seriously assaulted James Crawford that he died on the 17th inst :— Brown eyes, thin nose, dark complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 36 years of age; wore a soft hat, dark frock coat, dark trowsers and vest, strong Wellington boots; served in the Naval Reserve ; has the appearance of a man who has been at sea, but is a farmer. DUBLIN CASTLE, 23rd August, 1877. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, about the hour of a quarter past nine o'clock, on the evening of the 8th instant, Head Constable John O'Connors, of the Royal Irish Constabulary, was lined at and grievously- wounded by some persons at present unknown, whilst returning from Dalgan to Dunmore, in the county of Galway: His Grace, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who committed the same, and a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS for such private information as will lead to the same result. Leitrim. l DESCRIPTION of a heifer, the property of Daniel Donnelly, which was stolen from the lands of Gor- teenoran, parish of Cloone, barony of Mohill, on the night of 25th or morning of 26th August, 1877:— Deep yellow colour, white face, white stripe on right hip, and a little white on tail, cocked horns, one of them a little higher than the other, wart on nose and another on right side of jaw, rising 2 years old, and value for £ 7 10 « . DESCRIPTION of Robert Walsh, native of Killinane, who stands charged with having, on the 1st Sep- tember, 1877, in the barony of Coshlea, parish of Galbally, committed rape on Sarah Moroney, of Keelogues :— Bow legged, and turns in his toes when walking; blue or gray eyes, thick drooped nose, fresh complexion, round full face, very stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 27 years of age, light brown liair; wore a furry cap, dark tweed coat, trowsers and vest; is a farmer's son. DESCRIPTION of convict Thomas Riordan ( 2173 J, who has broken the conditions of his licence in not reporting himself to the Constabulary on change of residence:— Convicted in Limerick, at Hilary Sessions, on 25th January, 1873, for assault and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude; 20 years of age on conviction, can read and write, is a Roman Catholic, single, is a labourer; born in Oola, county Limerick, where he resided before conviction; his friends reside at same place; brown liair, gray eyes, brown eyebrows, regular nose, regular mouth, fair complexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high; a slight cut on front of forehead; a large cut- mark on front of right hand. The above named oonvict was released from Lusk Prison, 13th February, 1877, on an order of licence to bo at large, and took his discharge for Oola, county Limerick, where he reported himself to the Constabulary. He left Oola without reporting himself, but sent a letter to the Constabulary there on the 24th July, 1877, bearing Knocklong post- mark. Relatives believe he went near Emly, county Tipperary, but it is reported he may have left for America; present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest, he should be dealt with under tho 5th section of the Prevention of Crimes Act, 34 and 35 Vic., chap. 112. Government Prisons Office, Dublin Castle, July 30, 1677. DESCRIPTION of James M'Fadden, native of county of Londonderry, who stands charged with having, on the 18th day of August, 1877, in the barony of Lower Liberties, parish of Templemore, assaulted William Lowry by striking him on the head with a hoe, which fractured his skull:— Smart active appear- ance, rather good- looking ; full blue eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, regular face, slight make, 5 feet 6 or f inches high, about 19 years of age, dark hair, small dark moustache; wore a billycock hat, dark coat, trowsers and vest; served in the Donegal Militia; is a labourer. DBSCRIPTION of John Connell, native of Kilhoyle, who stands charged with having, on the 24th day of May, 1877, in the barony of Keenaght, parish of Balteagh, assaulted Henry Kelly, junior, of Kilhoyle, by striking him on the head with a stone and kicking him on the body, from the effects of which he died on the lOt'n inst.:— Old cut- marks on face; blue eyes, regular nose, tlorid cVniplexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 37 years of age, red hair; wore a soft round hat, it is supposed dark tweed coat, dark browsers and vest. The cow, described in Hue- and- Cry of 28th August, has been found straying and returned to owner. Roscommon. DUBLIN CASTLE, 10th August, 1877. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, about the hour of 1 o'clock, P. M., on the 2nd June last, James Young, esq., J. P., was found dead on the avenue of his residence, at Harristown, near Castlerea, having been murdered by some person or persons at present unknown : And whereas Their Excellencies the Lords Justices have, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of the said murder, offered a reward of FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the llt) t June last, give such informa- tion as shall lead/ to the arrest of the person or persons who coir/ niitted the said murder; and a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS for such private information as shall lead to the same result: His Grace is also pleased to offer a FREE PARDON to any person concerned in the said crime, other than the person who actually committed the murder, who shall give such evidence as will lead to the conviction of the persons concerned with him in the crimo, " v By His Grace's command, T. DESCRIPTION of Jeremiah Keefe, native of Glengar, county - Tipperary, who. stands charged with having, on the 14th August, 1877, in the barony of Kilnama- nagh Upper, parish of Doon, assaulted Michael Kelly, of Curraghmarkey, by striking him on the head with a fork so as to endanger his life by frac- turing his skull:— Slovenly gait, turns out his toes; short neck, small blue eyes, slightly cocked nose, fair complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 30 years of age, fair hair, sandy whiskers nearly meeting under chin ; wore a soft round hat, old frieze frock coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest. DESCRIPTION of George Scroggy, native of Tyrone, who stands charged with having, on the 26tli July, 1877, in the barony of Lower Dungannon, parish of Aghaloo, stolen 3 bullocks, the property of Lord Caledon, a description of which appeared in the Hue- and- Cry of the 7th August, 1877 ;— A piece off one upper front tooth, an old cut- mark on nose; gray eyes, hooked nose, sallow complexion, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 58 years of age, dark hair turning gray; wore a blue or brown coat, cord trowsers, light vest. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Donaghey, native of Laughmacroy, who stands charged with having, on the 26th August, 1877, attempted to commit rape, in the barony of East Omagh, parish of Termon- magurk:— Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh com- plexion, lull face, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 20 years ol age, dark brown hair; wore a gray tweed coat, trowsers and vest; is a bricklayer, and worked in Belfast and Portadown. The school dress, all with Reformatory stamp, consists of— corduroy trowsers and vest, blue serge eoat, leather belt, blue serge cap ( French make), strong boots. This boy formerly worked with different farmers about Wexford, but may now seek employment as st shoemaker, as he has a good knowledge of that trade.
