No Description Can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward tbe Informations to the Inspcctor- Gencral. As the Law ( 48 Geo. 3, c. 140, s. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hue- and- Cry. DESCRIPTION of Mary Ellen Morrissey, alias Ellen Tobin, who stands commit'ed to next Wigan Quarter Sessions, for attempting to pick pockets:— 50 year? of age, 5 feet li inches high, fresh complexion, gray eyes, dark brown hair turning gray, proportionate build, education nil, is a Roman Catholic, ha* several cuts on forehead and cut on nose; she has been sentenced to 6 months at Lambeth, for larceny from the person, also 7 days for vagrancy, at Kirkdale Gaol. It is srongly suspected that she has been convicted on several other occasions, and also wanted at other places. Both ran away, leaving the cow behind, when they saw some hesitation about buying her. DescRIPTIOn of James Reynolds, wanted for stealing £ 40 from his master on 14th instant, and absconding :— He is between 17 and 18 years of age. about 5 feet 7 inches high, ruddy complexion, dark hair inclined to curl, light blue eyes, marks of boils on side of neck ; wore a black cloth jacket, low crowned hat; spetks with a strong North o( Ireland accent; was a page;< s a native of Whitehall, Ballymena, county Antrim, where his psrerts t- re supposed to reside. DESCRIPTION of a mare, at present in possession of the Police at Chancery- lare Police Station, and which is supposed to have been stolen :— A bav mure, white stir on forehead, and white o? er fetlocks of 1 ind legs, white spot under straddle, aged, ard in poor condition. Robert Williamson, 16 years of age, light brown hair, blue eyes, sharp nose, full mouth, fresh com- plexion, sharp visage, slight make, 5 feet 0 inches high; pockpitted; mole below left breast; is a gardener: formerly belonged to Strandtown, Belfast; parents reside at same place. Dress worn by juvenile when he absconded :— Gray tweed jacket, moleskin trowsers and vest, white shirt, red checked necktie, woollen socks, and nailed boots. Believed to be working on a farm in county Down. R., who stands charged with having, on the 22nd March, 1875, in the barony of Coshlea, parish of Kilbeheny, fired at Patten S. Bridge, esq., agent to Nathaniel Buckley, esq., Galtee Castle :— Rather short neck, slightly round shoulders; Brown eyes, hooked nose, fresh slightly freckled complexion, ' ong face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, abont 40 years of age, dark brown curly hair, sandy whiskers; wore a dsrk coat, cord trowsers, light vest Mitchelstown, March 24, 1875. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, about the hour of a quatter past nine o'clock, on the evening of the 8th instmt, Head Constable John O'Connors. of the Royal Irish Constabulary, was fired at and grievously wounded by some persons at present unknown, whilst returning from Dalgan to Dunmore, in the county galway : His Grace, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who committed the same, and a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS for such private information as will lead to the same result. By His Grace's command, T. H. BURKE. The above rewards will be paid, on conviction, by A. F. Ball, esq., the Resident Magistrate at Tuam, to those who may become entitled to them under the conditions of this Proclamation. residence :— Convicted ia Limerick, at Hilar Sessions, on 2Sth January, 1878, for assault an and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude; 20 years of age oa conviction, can read and write, is a Roman Catholic, single, is a labourer; born in Oola, county Limerick, wh re he resided before conviction; his friends reside at same place ; brown hair, gray eyes, hrotvn eyebrows, regular nose, regular mouth, fair complexion, round vi age, stout make, 5 feet 1 inches high; a slight cut oa front of forehead; a lage cut mark on 1. ont of right haad. The above- named convict was released from Luak Prison, lSih February, 1877, on an order of licen e to be at large, and took his disc- arge for Oola, county Limerick, when he reported himself to the Constabulary. He left Oola without r porting himself, but snnt a let er to the Cmstabulay there on th*> 24th July, 1 7 bearing Knocklong post- mark. Relatives believe he w . nt near Emly, county Tipperary, but it is reported he may have lefc for America : prosent whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest, he should be dealt with under the 5th section of the Prevention of Crimes Act, 34 and 85 Vic., chap. 112. Government Prisons Office, Dublin Castle, July 80, 1877.
