G Division DESCRIPTION of a man and woman, names unk who are want* d on suspicion of having stolen which they bad in their possession, and offe-^ u iur sals to a butcher at Bull- alley, between 4 and 5 A. M., on ' he 10th instant:— Thi man is about 45 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 in hes high, stout build, sandy hair and whiskers, chin shaved, full face, and fresh complexion ; dressed in an old brown frock cost, light tweed trowsers, and soft jerry hat. Tne woman is 80 to 8S years of ajfe, low size, full ft stures, and pale complexion ; wore an old dark straw bonnet and old light colour plaid shawl. Both ran away, leaving the cow behind, when they saw soae hesitation about buying her. The cow has been claimed by Mr. Richard Graghan, of Kilmore, Coolock, and was stolen from his lands at that place. JOHN MALLON, Superintendent. Superintendent's Office, Aug. 20, 1877. DBSOBIPTTOH of James Reynolds, wanted for stealing £ 40 from bis master on 14th instant, and absconding :— He is between 17 and 18 years of age. about 5 feet 7 inches high, ruddy complexion, dark hair inclined to curl, light blue eyes, marks of boils on sido of reck; wore a black cloth jacket, low- crowcied hat; speaks with a strong North of Ireland accent; was a page; is a native of Whitehall, Ballymena, county Antrim, where his parents are supposed to reside. DESCRIPTION of n mare, at present in possession of the Police at Chancery- lane Police Station, and which is supposed to have been stolen:— A bay msre, white stir on forehead, and white over fetlocks of 1 ind legs, white spot tinder straddle, aged, and in poor condition. Antrim, who stands charged with having, on 12th June, 1877, in the barony ot Lower Glenarm, parish of Ardclinis, been one of two men who so seriously assaulted James Crawford that he died on the 17th inst. :— Brown eyes, thin nose, dark complexion, full face, stout make, 6 feet 9 inches high, about 36 years of aye; wore a soft hat, dark frock coat, dark trowsers and vest, strong Wellington boots; served in the Naval Reserve : has the appearance of a man who has been at sea, but is a farmer. DESCRIPTION of a he'fer, the property of John Curtin, which was stolen from the lands of Cloon- gaheen West, parish of Killokenedy, barony of Tulla Lower, on the 31st July, 1877:— A roan heifer, 3 years old, straight horns, loins somewhat sunken, lerge hip bones, fair condition, and value for £ 8, Killaloe, August 6, 1877. Tha special attention of the Constabulary Is directed to the following: DESCRIPTION of John Ryan, native of Cooladerry county Cork, E. R., who stands charged with having, on the 33nd March, 1875, in the barony of Coshlea, parish of Kilbeheny, fired at Patten S. Bridge, eng., agent to Nathaniel Buckley, esq., Galtee Castle:— Rather thort neck, slightly round shoulders; Brown eyes, hooked nose, fresh slightly freckled complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 yeara of age, dark brown curly hair, sandy whiskers; wore a dark coat, cord trowsers, light vest. DESCRIPTION ot 3 persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 80th March, 1876, in the barony of Condons and Clangibbon, parish of Mitchelstown, been two cf a party wbo fired at and wounded Patten Bridge, esq., and Constable Mathew Nugent, and shot John Hyland dead at same time and place:— 1. Unknown— Fair complexion, stout make, 6 feet 10 inches high, about 85 years of age, sandy whiskers nearly meeting nnder the chin; wore a cloth frock coat; had his fece blackened. 3. DESCRIPTION of a woman, name and native place unknown, will probably cvl herself Mary Goodman, wbo stands charged with having, on the 2Rth June, 1877, in tbe barony of East Division of West Car- bery, parish of Creagh. obtained money under false pretences:— Very heavy eyelids, regular nose, faic complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 32 years of age, black hair curling over shoulders : wore a black hat, black dress trimmed with green, black jacket trimmed with sealskin. DESCRIPTION of convict, Thomas Riordan < 2478), who has broVen the conditions of his licence in not reporting himself to the Constabulary on oh an ere of residence :— Convicted in Limerick, at Hilary Sessions, on 25th January, 187*. for assault an and sentenced to B years' penal servitude; 20 years of age on conviction, can read and write, is a Roman Catholic, single, is a labourer; horn in Ool< » . county Limerick, where he resided before conviction: his friends reside at same place: brown hair, grav eyes, brown eyebrows, regular nose, regular mnuth, fair complexion, round visage, stout make. B feet 7 inches high ; a Slight cut on front of forehead; n. lage cut mark on tront of right hand. The above- named convict was released from Lusk Prison, 18th February, 1877, on an order of licence to be at large, and took his discharge for Oola, county Limerick, where he reported himself to the Constabulary. He left Oola without reporting himself, but s « nt, a letter + o the Constabulary there on the 24th July, 1 877, bearing Knocklong post- mark. Relatives believe he went near Emly, county Tipperary, bnt it is reported he may have left for America: present whereabouts is unknown. Tn tbe event of his arrest, he should be dealt with under the Kth section of the Prevention of Crimes Act, 84 and 86 Vic., chap. 119. DESCRIPTION of James M'Fadden, native of countv of Londonderry, who stands charged with having, on the 18th d" y of August, 1877, in the barony of Lower Liberties, parish of Templemore, assaulted William Lowry by striking him on tbe head with a hoe. which fractured hid skull:— Smart active appear- ance ; rather good looking; full blue eves, regular nose, dark complexion, regular face, slight make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 19 years of age, dark Hair, small dark moustache ; wore a billycock hat, dark coat, trowsers. and vest; served in the Donegal Militia; is a labourer. DESCRTPTIOH of John Connell, native of Kilhoyle, who sands charged with having, on the 24th dav of "* av, 1877, in the barony of Keenaght, parish of Balteagh. assaulted Henry Kelly, junior, of Kilhoyle, by striking him on the head with a stone and kicking him on the body, from the effects of which he d'ed on the 10th inst. -.— Old, cut- marks on face; blue eyes, regular nose, florid complexion, round f'ce, stout make. S feet 7 inches high about 37 years of age, red hair wo- e a soft round hat, it is supposed dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest. DESCRIPTION of a man, name unknown, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 2nd August, 1877, in the barony of Ardee, parish of Mapastown, stolen a ewe and 2 lambs, which he sold in the fair of Crossmaglen, on the 3rd August, 1877 ; the three animals have been since recovered :— Dark complexion, low set make, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, about 85 years of age, brown hair and moustache; wore alow dark hat, bright tweed coat, tweed trowgers and vest; carried a large dark frieze overcoat across his arm. MAYO, DESCRIPTION of Thomas Ruddy, native of Foxford, who stands charged with having, on the night of the Q7th July, 1877, at Aghamore, in the barony of costello, parish of Aghamore, forced an entrance into Michael Waldron's dwelling- house, assaulted his wife, and demanded money :— Gray eves, regular nose, freckled complexion, round face, stout make, 6 feet 6 inches high, about 45 years of age, brown hair, sandy whiskers : wore a red necktie, an old dark twaed coat— sma'l piece torn off the cuff inches by 1 inch— dark cord trowsers black frieze vest, strong good laced boots ; is a ragman and low butcher. DESCRIPTION of Michael Reilly, native of Clara- county Cavan, and John Rudden, nativ of Drum- condra, county Cavan, who stand charged with having, on the 29th March, 1877, in the barony of dartree, parish of Currin, been of a partv ( two of whom are in custody) who assaulted Patrick Brides, of Knox, at Corrackan, and inflicted wounds on him from which he has since died :— 1. Michael Reilly— Holds down his head when walking, and has a slouching gait; gray eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, thin face, medium make, 6 feet 9 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark hair:, wore a jerry hat, dark coat, cord trows ars, dark vest; is a small farmer. 2. Queen's, DESCRIPTION of a milch cow, the property of Honora Hyland, of Ballydavis, which was stolen from off the heath, in the parish of Kilteale, barony of Mary- borough East, on the night of the ' 4th or morning of the 15th instant: — Broad horns, blind of one eye ( supposed the right), red and white colour, in fair condition, and value for £ 9. Maryborough, August 32, 1877. ( 14124 o.— 25006.) The jennet described in Hue- and- Cry, 91st August, 1877, was found straying. leifcr* - v i DUBLIN CASTLE, 1 Oth August, 1877. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that about the hour of 1 o'clock, P. m , on the 2r, d Tune last, James Young, esq., JP., was found dead on the avenue of his residence, at Harristown, near Castlerea. havinw been murdered by some person or persons at present unknown: And whereas Their Excellencies the Lords Justices have, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of the said murder, offered a reward of FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the 11th June last, give such informa- tion as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who committed the said murder 5 and a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS for such private information as shall lead to the same result. His Grace is also pleased to offer a FREE PARDON to any person concerne 1 in the said crime, other than the person who actually committed the murder, who shall give such evidence as will lead to the conviction ot the persons concerned with him in the cri" rte. By His Grace's command, T. H. BURKE. The above rewardi will be naid. on conviction, by Edward Wynne, esq., the Resident Magistrate at castlerea, to those who may become entitled to them under the conditions above mentioned. The special attention of the Constabulary is directed to the following: DESCRIPTION of Thomas Hunt, mother's surname Quigley,) native of Knockgranagh, who stands charged with having, on the 29th November, ult., in the barony of Leyny, parish of Achonry, murdered John M'Gloin, by fracturing his skull with a large stone:— Down- looking appearance, two upper front teeth large and prominent, high cheek bones, large heavy lips, sunken jaws, very broad shoulders; glariog black eyes, slightly cocked nose, sallow compexion, oval face, stout make, 6 feei 9 or 10 inches high, about 27 or 28 years of age, black hair, small dark moustache; wore a dark cloth coat, trowsers, and vest. Was in America, and lately returned from England, where he worked as a labourer, ^ as a pair of English- made navvy boots, with iron plates under toes, also a pair of light Wellington boots. Tipperary. f DESCRIPTION of Jeremiah Keefe, native of Glengar, county Tipperary, who stands Charged with having, on the 14th August 1877, in the barony of Kilnama- nagh Upper, parish of Doon, assaulted Michael Kelly, of Curraghmarkey, by striking him on tbe head with a fork so as to endanger his life by frac- turing his skull:— Slovenly gait, turns out his toes, short reck, small blue eyes, slightly cocked nose, fair complexion, round face, medium make 5 feet a inches high, about 80 years of age, fair bair, sandy whiskers nearly meeting under chin; wore a soft round hat, old frieze frock coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest.
