DESCRIPTION of N m » re, at present in possession of the Police at Chancery- lane Police Station, and which is supposed to have been stolen :— A bay mare, white star on forehead, and white over fetlocks of hind legs, white apot nnder straddle, aged, and in poor condition. R., who stands charged with having, on the 22nd March, 1876, in the barony of coshlea, parish of Kilbeheny, fired at Patten S. Bridge, esq., agent to Nathaniel Buckley, esq. Galtee Castle:— rather thort neck, slightly round shoulders; Brown eyes, hooked nose, fresh slightly freckled complexion, ' ong face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark brown curly hair, sandy whiskers; wore a dark coat, cord trowsers, light vest. DESCRIPTION of convict Thomas Riordan ( 2478), who has broken the conditions of his licence in not reporting himeelf to the Constabulary on change of residence :— Convicted in Limerick, at Hilary Sessions, on 2f th January, 1873, for assault and and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude j 30 years THE POLICE GAZETTE, OR HUE- AND- CRY, SEPTEMBER 7 , 1877. of age on conviction, can read and write, is a Roman Catholic, single, is a labourer; born in Oola, county Limerick, where he resided before conviction; his friends reside at same place : brown hair, gray eyes, t> rown eyebrows, r gular nose, r gular mouth, fair complexion, round vi age, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high ; a slight, cut on front of forehead; alage cut mark on tront of right hand. The above- named convict was released from Lu'k Prison, 18th February, 1877, on an order of licence to be at iarge, and took his discharge for Oola, county Limerick, where he reported himself to the Constabulary. He left Oola without reporting himself, but ssnt a letter to the Constabulary there on the 24th July, " W', bearing Knocklong post- mark. DESCRIPTION of Jeremiah Coushen or Cousin, native of Illaunmeen, couaty Tipperary, who st nds charged with having, on the 23rd May, 877, in the barony of Coshlea. parish of Galbally, seriously assaulted Edward M'Grath, game keeper to Lieut.- Colonel Massy :— Gray eyes, regular nose, f* ir com- plexion, freckled face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 25 yeatsof age, fair hair, light moustache : wore a hard row d black hat coarse dark tweed roat, '' ark tweed trowsers and v st; is a labourer. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lords Justices that about the hour of I o'clock P M , on the 3r., d inst., James Young, esq.. j. p., was found dead on the avenue of his residence, at Harristown, near Castlerea, havin been murderei by some person or persons at present unknown s Their Excellencies, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, ara pleased hereby to offer a reward of FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who committed the same ; and a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS for such private information a9 shall lead to the same result. The special attention of the Constabulary is directed to the following: DF8ORT-> TIOK of Thomas hunt, mother's surname Quigley,) hi. ti ve of Knockgranagh, who stands char^ d with having, on the 29th November, ult., in the barony of Leyny, parish of Acfionry, murdered John M'Gloin. by fracturing his skull with a large one:— Down looking appearance, two upper front teeth large and prominent, high cheek bones, large heavy lips, sunken jaws, very broad shoulders; giaricg black eyes, slightly cocked nose, sallow compexion, oval face, siout make, 5 fsei 9 or 10 inches high, about 27 or 28 years of age, black hair, small dark moustache; wore a dark cloth coat, trowsers, and Tyrone. DESCRIFTION of 3 bullocks, the property of the Earl of Caledon, which were stoleu from the lands of Cumber, parish of Aghaloo, barony of Lower Dun- gannon, on or about the 26th dav of July, 1877 :— 1. red colour, with white spots on flank, branoed on right horn with the number 20. 2. Red colour, with some white spotp through b dy, and white spots on jaw, branded on right horn with the number yO. 3. Red colour, with white spots and cocked horns, and branded on right horn with tie number 20. Each of the above are 8 years old, and value for £! 6. Aughuacloy, August 4, 1877. ( 18875 c.— S4620.)
