Supposed stolen on 31st ultimo, from Calcot Grange, near Reading : a very small brown Shetland mare Pony, 4 years old, with both ears split, long mane and tail, and not shod. Information to be given to Inspector Pocock, County Police Station, Reading, Berks.— Bow- street, August 3. Supposed to have been stolen from a field at Walsall, during the night of 28th ultimo : a dark bay mare Pony, 13 hands high, 3 years old, long tail, black legs, white star on forehead, and lately shod. Information to be given to Chief Constable Cater, Walsall, Staffordshire.— Bow- st., Auqust 1, Stolen on 2lst instant, from a field adjoining Edgware- bury- lane, Edgware: a roan Gelding, 16 hands, knees chipped, collar marked, off bind leg partly white, foretop hair cut level, and ' M. B ' branded on fore hoof.— Metro- politan Police, S Division, July 30. Stolen on 23rd instant, from a field in Rosendale- road, West Dulwich : a very dark gelding Colt, 14 bands high, white star on forehead, thick set, long mane and tail, scar on near hip, and unshod. By a man, 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stout built, full red face, and whiskers shaved off ; dressed in short black jacket, and dark skull cap. Stolen : a black Mare, with white streak down the face, long mane and tail, has a spavin ou the off hock, and is about hands high. Found in Sbifnal on 25th icstant, and supposed to have been stolen : a black Gelding, 4 years old, 14 hands 3 inches ! high, white star on forehead, a little white ( triangle shape) j between the nostrils, both hind fetlocks white, and switch tail. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Ivins, Wellington, or to Sergeant'; Meredith, Shifna!, Salop. — Bw- street, July 30. Twenty guineas reward is offered by Messrs. Bird, for i sucb information as shall lead to the recovery o? the horse stolen at Hilperton Marsh, as advertised in tbe Police i Gazette of 11th instant, and conviction of the offender or offenders. Supposed to have bean stolen from Ashbourne Green, batween 24th and 27th instant: a black mare Pony, aged, about 12 hands high, long tail and mane, lame in fore feet, white mark from an old wound on near hip, and saddle marks on back. Stolen from Trosdyraur, on 7th instant, tie property of H. Chichester, Esq : a thorough- bred bay Mare, aged, several, white marks on baek under s& ddle, broken knees; and a dark bay Mare, aged, both about 15 hands higb, and tails cut square. Found on 22nd instant, in Luton, and supposed to have been stolen : a dark bay Mare, aged, about 15 hands higb, white star on forehead, 3 white marks on nearside, and black legs. Obtained on 20th instant, by false pretence?, from Downshire Hill, Hampstead : a light bay Horse, 15^ hands high, white star on forehead, and a chessnut Mara, 15 bands 3 inches high ; also two Saddles and Bridles. By two men: one 22 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches higb, fair complexion, rather stcut; dressed in grey suit, and rkik. cap ; the other 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, dark complexion"; dressed in dark tweed suit, and black felt bat.— Metropolitan Police, S Divi- sion, July 25. By a man, about 24 years of sge, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches higb, dark complexion, sun burnt face, small moustache, little or no beai d ; dressed in dark clothes, dark bowler hat, low shoes, of respectable appearance, and for whose apprehension a warrant has been issued. Description of GEORGE BURNS, a labourer, charged with stealing £ 3 in Money, belonging to George Porrett, of Staithes, on 28th ultimo : he is 21 years of age, 5 feet 5 ins. higb, fresh complexion, grey eyes, brown hair, no whiskers, pockpitted, and proportionate make; dressed in a sleeved vest, with fustian sleeves and back, and dark cord front, dark cord trousers, worsted cap, with peak, and new boots. His parents reside at No. 10, Dock- street. West Hartlepool. He was employed to assist a horse dealer at Stockton- on- Tees, previous to coming to reside at Staithes, and he has been in the Army. Information to be given to Mr, Superintendent Ryder, North Riding Constabulary, Whitby, who holds a warrant for bis apprehension.— Bow- street, August 3, Stolen during tho night of 29th ultimo, from the dwelling house of John Gowell, at Larkfield, East Malling, near Maidstone, Kent : a soft felt billycock Hat, a pair of lace- up Boots with brass eyelets, a Pocket Knife, and a Picture Frame. By GEORGE TWYMAN, a discharged soldier, from. 30 to 35 years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches high, ligbt complexion, dark brown hair, whiskers, and moustache, walks a little lame; dressed in brown cloth waistcoat with fustian sleeves, cord trousers, and the stolen Boots and Hat, and ba^ i with him a brown monkey Jacket Has a brother named Henry Twyman, living at Grove, Wickhambreux. and a sister named Mrs. Thomas Bushell, living at Wickham Village. By a woman who had been living at the house about 6 weeks as servant, and gave tbe name of HARRIET JOHNSON, supposed married, about 27 years of age, short and stiff, fresh complexion, light brown hair; dressed in a black bonnet, dark dress, and brown jacket; she is supposed to come from the neighbourhood of Birmingham, where she bas friends. Absconded on 24th ultimo, from No. 3, Little Holloway- street, Mile End Old- town, stealing a pair of new side- spring Boo- a : a man, 24 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, fresh complexion, freckled, no whiskers, and light brown hair; dressed in grey mixture coat and vest, dark trousers, militia boots, and billycock hat.— Metropolitan Police, H Division, August 1. Stolen on 26th ultimo, from 23, Charlotte- street, St Marylebone : two £ 5 Bank of England Notes ; £ 1 in Gold; three Scarf Pins, one large pearl, one enamel, one mosaic; a large gold Seal, with glass, one side white, the other red. By a German, 26 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches higb, fair com- plexion, brown bair and eyes, no beard or whiskers ; dressed in blue serge suit. D.' on ba, ck of left hand, and blue ring on. third fiuger ; he is a tailor, and is supposed to have worked in South Wales, Chester, Sheffield, and several parts ot Denbighshire; dressed in black frock coat, light vest, black cloth trousers, and elastic- side boots. Stolen from a toolbouse in Wirkswortb, on 28th ultimo : a stone- mason's Hammer, a large Trowel, nearly new, and a Trowel, much worn. By PETER WILSON, a stone- mason, an Irishman, about 45 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, sajcdy whiskers and moustache, turning grey, fresh complexion, and sharp features; dressed in moleskin trousers, patched from below the knees up the front of the thighs, and aoleskin vest. He was traced to Chesterfield, where he left on tha morning of 30th ultimo. Informatioa to be given to Mr. Superintendent Sharpe, Police Station, Wiiksworth, Derbyshire.— Bow- street, August 1. Absconded from Chepstow on 21st iastant, CHARLES STEPHENS, alias COX, an ostler or cab driver, charged with embezzling the sum 10a., tbe monies of his master, John Birrett: he is about 66 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches higb, proportionate make, fresh complexion, grey hair and wtiiakere, aud stoops; dressed ia a dark coat, tweed waist- coat and trousers, and high crowned hat. H « is well known in Bristol, where he lived as ostler at tbe Swan Hotel for years, and where be was traced to on Saturday last. Sup- posed to be a native of Evesham or Worcester. Description of HENRY HARRISON, charged on a " warrant with embezzlement at Cradley Heath : about 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches higb, slender build, sallow com- plexion, slightly pockmarked, black cuily hair, large bushy whiskers and moustache, and has lost his front, teeth ; he is a horse collar maker, a native of Scarborough, and is sup- posed to bt a deserter from the army. Has worked at Walsall, and there went in the name of Henry Collins. In- formation to be given to Inspector Price, Police Station, Old Hill, Staffordshire.— Bmv- ttreet, July 30. Absconded from Kidderminster on 4th instant, charged wilh stealing a Hand Truck, marked with the letters ' W. J. G Kr. W.' A man. known as ' Worcester Jack,' a rag and bone gatherer, about 50 jears of age, very dark swarthy complexion ; dressed in an old blue coat and trousers, and a hard black felt bat. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Haigh, Kidderminster, Worcestershire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 30. Absconded from Kiddermiister, on 23rd instant, charged on a warrant with stealing three Coats, oue a black frock, one a grey reefer. ( Scotch tweed), and one a blue pilot: HANNAH THOMASON, about 40 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, round face, pug n< se, dark complexion, aud black wavy hair j her ear- rings have been torn from both ears ; dressed in a black or put pie dress, and black shawl; she has a relative in Abergavenny, and has worked in a factory at Bradford, she has also a relative at. Tiverton, Bath. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Haigh, Kidderminster, Worces- tershire, who holds a warrant for her apprehension.— Bow- street, July 30. Stolen on 26th instant, from 24, Palmerston road, Kilburn : £ 14 10s in Gold, and 2s. Silver. By a man, a house painter, 27 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches higb, fair, blue eyes, sandy whiskers; dressed in black frock coat, dark trousers ai d vest, slate coloured deerstalker hat, and has a nervous twitching of the face.— Metropolitan Police, S Divi- sion, July 30. Description of FREDERICK ANTHONY JOHNSON, who absconded from Sheffield on 24th instant, charged with stealing verious sums of Money belonging to his master, and for whose apprehension a warrant has been issued. He is 21 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, fresh complexion, light brown hair, no whiskers or moustache, aud is of slender build ; he is a native of Whittiugton Moor, near Chesteifield, but has resided for some time in Sheffield ; dressed in a light grey chi ck suit, and herd bUck telt hat. It is supposed that he will endeavour to leave the country. Information to be given to Chief Constable Jackson, Sheffield, Yorkshire.— jBow- street, July 30. Description of a man charged with stealing 11 lbs. of Brasses from an engine house at Daywell Colliery, on 26th instant, which have been recovered iu Oswestry, where the man was offering them for sale on the above date : he is GEORGES DE FONTENAY, of 12, Grosvenor- crescent, Belgrave- tquare, London, from 35 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, sallow complexion, small dark whiskers and moustache, darb heavy eyebiows, black hair, cut short, very white teetb, slender make, walks erect, spoke English imperlectly, and is supposed to be a Frenchman ; dressed in a dark coat and vest, grey trousers, black scarf with single stone diamond pin, and a small single stone claw set diamond ring oa finger. Messrs. Muirhead and Sons offer .£ 300 reward. .£ 260 to be paid for ihe recevery of the diamonds, or in proportion to the amount recovered ; and £ 50 to be paid to any person giving such information as shall lead to the apprehension of the accused. A warrant has been issued at Tunbridge Wells, for the apprehension of RUPERT DAVEY, a journeyman tailor, ou a charge of stealing a suit of Clothes, found pledged, on 19th instant, on which day ha absconded : he is about 26 yrs. of age, 5 feet 5 iucbes high, very stout, ginger whiskers, hair a little darker. Information to ba given to the Chief of Police, Tunbridge Wells, Kent.— Bow- rtrast, July 27. labourer, 44 years of age, 5 feet 6f inches high, Blightly builts round features, dark complexion, olicd in left eye, dark hair and whiskers under tbe chin, and great toes turn inwards under the 2nd toes; and JONAH JAY, a stepson of Guy- more, a labourer, 20 years of age, 6 feet 4-| inches high, slight Duild, round features, fair complexion, Jigot, * aody hair, blue eyes, large scars from a burn on right tide of body and on shoulder. Tbey state that they have been trave ling about the country for some time past, and it is suspected that they have been previously convicted. Information to be given to Mr. Currey, Governor, Ely Prison, or to Inspector Mitchell, Police Station, Chatteris, Cambs.— Bow- street., August 3. Description of a man who was convicted on 1st instant, and sentenced to 3 months hard labour, on a charge of obtaining Money from different persons by representing himself to be a member cf their fituily : he re. uses to give any name or addresp, is of gentlemanly appearance, about 70 years of age, 5 feet 9£ inches high, fresh complexion, light blue eyes, very weak, giey hair, whiskers, and moustache; dressed in light grey overcoat, dark trousers and vest, with light stripes, black neckeichief, red and black plaid woollen shirt, old side- spring boots, black silk high hat. Carries an : umbrella, walks lame with left leg, and has a hoop mourning, ring on little finger of left hand, with initials * 8. J, C.'. Photograph can be had on application to Mr. Superintendent Buss, Police Station, Ramsgate, Kent— Bow- strutu, August 3. Description of URIAH HARDCASTLE, a travelling clock and watch cleaner, late cf Normanby, near Eston,! charged with stealing a Weather Glass, on 3lst December last, the property if William Booth, of Borrowby : he is between 50 and 55 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches high, sallow complexion, grey hair and whiskers, and full face, much blotched ; generally dresses in old daik coat and vest, moleskin trousers, and old black round hat, all greasy and dirty. He travels about the country cleaning clocks, & c., and is much addicted to drink. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Ryder, North Riding Constabulary, Whitby, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- ilrest, July 25. Further information respecting the man charged with stealing Money at the 1 Black Swan Hotel,' Langporr, Somer- set ( advertised in the Police Gazette of 18tti instant) : he is supposed to be the same man who committed similar offences at the ' Elephant and Castle Inn,' Leominster, Herefordshire, advertised in the Police Gazette of 16ch May last ; at the ' Talbot Inn,' Evesham, Worcestershire, and advertised in the Police Gazette of 29th ultimo; at the ' Boot Inn,' Tetbary, Gloucestershire, advertised in the Police Gazette of 29th ult. ; and at the ' George and Dragon,' Newbury, Berks, advertised in tbe Police Gazette of 2nd instant. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Hardwick, Somerset Constabulary, Somerton.— Bow- sieet, July 25. Description of GEORGE THOMPSON, late a, shunter at the Stafford Railway Station, who absconded on 24th ult., charged with einbezzliug £ 13 10s. 3d., the monies of the London and North Western Railway Company : he is 24 years of age, 5 fdet 9 inches high, very light brown hair and mocstac'ie, no vthiskeis or beard, weak eyes, large pro- minent teeth and lips, scar on left cheek ; dressed in dark tweed jacket, trousers and vest, light soft felt hat, and elastic side boots. Ht- is a native of Colw co, near Stafford, and bas fiiends at Chester and Huddersfield. Information to be about 40 yeais » f age, 5 feet 6 itches high, thin face, small given to Mr. G. Eceles, Railway Detective Department.
