By a man of the following description, who has absconded ; about 40 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, large dark whiskers, and stoutly made; dressed in corduroy trousers and vest, short blue pilot cloth jacket, black soft jimcrow hat, and stroDg new boots. He works at timber feliiog and charcoal burning, and a few months ago he worked at Horse Hay, Salop. Supposed by a man of the following description : 55 to 60 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, little or no whiskers, stout build; dressed in a black cloth coat, cord trousers, and high hat ; had a drab slop round his shoulders, and carried a hoe. Between 10 a. m. and 9 p m. on 3rd instant, the house of Miss Smith, at West Wratting Common, was broken and entered and stolen therein : a lady's large size double bottom English made gold Watch, makers Ellicott and Taylor; has gold dial with raised gold figures, chased round the edges, and has engine- turned or chased back with the letter * L' engraved in centre. Between 11 p. m. and 6 a m. on 30th ultimo, the resi- dence of Charles Hulse, Esq., of Stoke Park, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : 2 £ 5 Bank of England Notes, Nos. 89999 and 090000 : a geld Clock, with coroast and ' C. P.' on top ; a bunch of gold Seal*, 2 sets of gold Studs; a silver Spoou, wi'h a fish on the handle ; aud a pocket Knife, made by Reach, of Salisbury. A silver Geneva Watch, ' Jacob Lodle' on dial, had attached by a black cord, a red cornelian stone, shape of a heart, a white ditto, an oval- shaped gold Locket, set with pearls round edge, with monogram 4 G. A. A. M.' with hair in front, a small oval- shaped Locket, containing the photographs of two ladies, a pmall round gold Locket, hair in front, a silver Penny, a silver Threehalfpence, and a quarter Rupee. An oval- shaped gold Locket, with monogram ' AE J.' An cval- shaped silver Locket, with smalt piece or silver Chain attached. A round plated- gold Brooch, wiih seven crystals, one in centre and six set rouud. A pair of long gold Ear- rings, set with crystals, ( one minus two crystals). A gold Brooch, oval shape, with large topaz. Two gentlemen's carbuncle rings, one stone shape of shield, the other round, shield ring has been altered to smaller size. A lady's gold Bing, with three pearls and tsvo pink stones, wore thin. A lady's gold King,, with coral and blue stones in two rows. A large skeleton gold Brooch, with three raised brilliants. A pair of gold- plated sleeve Links, pattern 2 buttons size of a shilling, with a small piece of Chain attaching them. An old- fashioned single- barrelled Pistol, silver mounted. Five silver tea Spoons, with ' T. H.' on them. A lady's Fan, with pick ribbon. A pack of pink Playing Cards. A brass easel - shaped Needle - case, containing four packet?. An old Purse, pearl back and front, a small piece of silver set in front, with ' K. H.' scratched ou it. And a set of pearl Beads. Two men of the following description are suspected ; one about 18 years of age, low set, stout build, dark brown hair, round face, has pimples on neck, pale complexion ; dressed in hard felt hat, light muffler with red spots and ship on it, dark shooting coat, light trousers aid vest, and laced boots ; aud the other about 21 years of age, tall slender build, pale com- plexion, has a small light tuft of hair on chin ; dressed in felt hat, red and white muffler, and dark coat. Between 12 p. m. and 3 a, m. on the 3Ut ultimo, the vicarage of Wisborougbgreen was broken and entered by two men, who stole therein : about £ 15 in Gold aud Silver ; a silver- gilt Watch, the name ' Barrett' on the face; a gold signet ring, bloodstone; twelve plated Fish Knives, two silver Pepper Castors, three silver Tops, a Chinese carved ivory Music Box, a turned ivory Bing Stand, a Tunbridge ware Pocket- book, an Indian inlaid Postage Stamp Box, an ivory Thermometer in shape of a ship, a pair of silver Sugar Tongs ; a double Scent Bottle, red glass, plated gold top ; a small Box, with two sets of gentleman's Wrist Licks, one gilt, the other gold ; a Cotton Case in shape of an egg ; an imitation Stag's Head and Feet for needles ; eight Purses, one ivory and silver, one morocco and brass, one crimson Russia leather, the others common; a silver Card Case, a pair short- sight Spectacles, an Eye- glass ; a blue China Cup with gold edges ; a Mustard Pot, with silver Top and Spoon ; a richly carved Chinese knitting Needle Case; and a white waterproof Coat. During the night of 31st ultimo, the dwelling- house ot John Charles Onions, The Grange, Acocks- green, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : a Knife and Fork, twelve large and twelve small Forks, twelve Pudding Spoons, two Tea and six Table Spoons, tws Gravy and four Salt Spoons, twelve Dessert Knives and Forks, two Pickle Forks, a Mustard Spoon, a pair of Sugar Tongs, a Soup Ladle and two Sauce Ladles, three Egg Spoons, and a willow pattern Waiter, the whole marked vsith monogram ' JC' within ' O' in Old English characters. £ 5 reward will be paid on con- viction of the offender or offenders. Carpenter, Chatham', and maker ' Nogatco'; 5 coloured Oxford woven Shirts ; 2 white cotton Ditto ; I pair brown cotton Pants; 1 pair coloured merino Ditto ; 1 pair white merino Ditto ; 1 white merino under Shirt ; 1 coloured merino Ditto ; and 5 pairs of elastic Braces. Dur ing the Tn'ght of 1st instant, a Sheep was slaughtered and stolen in- a ftuld at Hednesford, belonging to Mr. william Gripton, farmer. Stolen from a field at Tottington Higher End during the night of 3lst ultimo : a light grey dappled Mare, aged 6 yrs, i6i hands high, has been blistered above hoof on off side hind leg; and a dark grey dappled Horse, aged 10 years, 17 hands high, and hind legs newly clipped. PRESIVILL, and two other men whose names are unknown, who are charged with obtaining1, on 30th ultimo, a Horse, by false pretences, from Mr. John Moss, Mavesyn Ridware : Presivill is about 40 years of age. 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, dark curly hair, whiskers, arid moustache, fretli complexion; dressed in dark plaid jacket and trousers. One of the other men is about SO years cf age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, stout build, no whiskers or moustache had a wort or mole on the left side of chin ; dressed in ordinary horse dealers garb. The other is about 25 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, slender build, thin face, no whiskers, alight black moustache ; cressed in dark coat and trousers, and old felt hat-. The horse has been recovered. Description of HENRY HILL, labourer, native of Selbv, Yorkshire, who absconded from Henley- in- Arden on 30th of April last, charged on a warrant with stealing 15s., the money of his master : about 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 ins. high, stout build, brown hair, small ( sandy) whiskers, right forefiugtr misting from second joint; dressed in corduroy trouseraj short moleskin jacket, tweed waistcoat, and flat cap with button on top. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Thomas, Constabulary Station, Alcester, Warwickshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- itreet, June 8. Stolen on the morning of 3rd instant, from the Admiral Hood Inn, Newport Pagnell: a black billycock Hat, and a Shoe Brush, marked ' M' on side ; the property of Mr. Thos. Mills, the landlord. By a labourer, who lodged in the house on the previous night; about 35 years of age, 6 feet high, dark complexion, dark brown hair, whi kers ar, d moustache, about a fortnight's growth ; dressed in light coat, dark cloth vest and' trousers, milliUry shirt, and boots. Supposed to be weaiing ths stolen hat. Stated be had served in the 61st regiment of Foot. Information to be given to Inspector Hall, Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire. — Bm- street June 8, Absconded on 22nd ultimo, from the London and County Bank, Edgware- road, embezzling ,£ 25 10s.: CHARLES HENRY HUGHES, a bank messenger, 25 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, fresh complexion, light brown hair and whiskers, slight; dressed in dark cutaway coat, grey trousers, high black hat, and has been a sailor. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Williamson, Detective Depart- ment, Great Scotland Yard, Warrant issued.— Bow- street June 8, Stolen on 27th ultimo, from the person of William Saunders, at the parish of Uffington : an open- face silver Watcb, makers name Skarrott aud Co., Worcester, number 3615. Description of a man. who has absconded from LoDg Itchington, Warwicskhire, charged with stealing a steel Screw Plate, with taps ; a pocket Shoeing Knife, with dirty white bone handle ; and a Leather Apron; the property of Robert Bayliss, blacksmith. He is known as JOHN THE BLACKSMITH, 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, dark complexion, tuft of hair on chin, and is in- kneed ; dressed in dark brown cloth coat, red and white scarf, dark cloth cap, dark clothes, and is weaving a pair of light lace- up boots. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Palmer, Constabulary Station, Rugby, or to Inspector Welch, Southam, Warwickshire, who holds a warrant for his appre- hension.— Bcw- strett, June 8. Stolen from a cottage at Radwell, during the afternoon of 4th instant, an entrance having been effected by breaking the window : 10s. in Money ; an old silver Watch ; a silver Guard, been broken and tied with cotton ; a grey Overcoat, velvet collar ; and a black cloth Waistcoat By a man, 50 years of age, 5 feet 9 inehe- s high, grey whiskers and moustache, tattooed on back of each hand ; dressed in the stolen clothes ; he is a wood turner. Information to be given to Inspector Young, Hitchin, Herts. — Mow- street, June 8. Description of two youths charged with stealing the undermentioned property, from the Officer's Quarters, Milton Barracks, Gravesend, on 3rd instant: a gold scarf Pin. shape of a battledore, strings of silver, and pearl in centre ; a gold ditto, ovalshape, shamrock leaves in centre, each leaf has pearls, small, garnets ai d turquoise inserted, some of the stones lost; a gold ditto, twisted ; a gold ditto, globe shape, with about five turquoise, battered on one side ; a gold collar Stud ; and a set of ivory shirt Studs, with gold faces. Also on 29th ultimo : a gold Pin, oval- shape, with Indian God in centre. One about 18 years of age, short, light complexion; dressed as a midshipman, his cap had badge of laurel leaf, inside of which was an anchor and a crown. The other about 16 years of age, and dressed in ordinary plain, clothes. Information to be given to Chief Constable Berry, Gravesend, Kent.— Eo^- strest, Juni 8. Further description of GEORGE WHITTEL, alias RICHARD LLOYD, alias GREATHEAD, alias WHIT- TAKER, alias EVANS, advertised in. the Police Gazette of 18th April last, as having absconded from Tasley, near Bridgnorth, charged with stealing £' i and a pair of Boots : he is a labourer, 21 years of age, 5 feet G inches higb, sallow complexion, flit face, round shoulders, short neck, slouching gait, carries his hands generally in his pockets, first joint of forefinger straight, from an accident. He is a native of Knowbury, near Clee Hill, Shropshire. Information to given to Mr. Superintendent Christie, Bridgnorth, Salop,— Bow- tine!, June 8. Further information respecting the Watch stolen at Altrincham, as advertised iu the Police Gazatte of 1st inst.: it has been recovered at Macclesfield, in possession of a man • who gives the name and address of SAML. SCAMMELL, Frome, striker, 19 years of age, 5 feet 3^ inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, and dark eyes. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Aston, Police Office, Altrincham, Cheshire.— Bow- street, June 8. Stolen from a dwelling house in Crewe, between 10 30 p. m. on 3rd, and 5 30 a. m. on 4th instant: a blue pilot cloth monkey Jacket, pocket outside each skirt, with flaps, one ditto inside left breast; a double- breasted brown and black Waistcoat; a brown tweed clofh Jacket, pocket outside each skirt, with flaps, and one do. inside left breast; a small leather pocket Book, was in one of the pockets ; a blue serge Cap, a cotton Handkerchief, red ground, with black and white flowers ; and an old brown and white Scarf. By a man, about 40 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches high, slight build, small round face, high cheek bones, stoops a little, very dirty appearance; dressed in a white muffler, and old dirty cap with a button in the front. He left behind him an old dark gold and silver mixture tweed shooting jacket, lap seams, left sleeve torn off at the elbow, pocket outside each skirt, and one ditto outside left breast, and an old black and white woollen muffler. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Saxton, Nantwich, or to Inspector Morris, Police Station, Crewe, Cheshire.— Bow- street, June 8. ROBERT BURTON, advertised in the Police Gazette of 13th ultimo, charged with embezzlement at Middles- borough, has been apprehended at Beverley.— Bow- street, June 8. Absconded from Oldham ou 4th instant, charged with embezzlement: JOHN FLYNN, alias JAMES SMITH, a carter, about 23 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, light com- plexion, round face, has lost the thumb of the right hand, and walks very erect; dressed in a light cloth jacket, mole- skin waistcoat with sleeves and trousers, whicn button up the sides about three inches at the bottoms, silk neckerchief tied in a sailor's knot, and soft billycock hat. Information to be given to the Chief Constable, Town Hall, Oldham, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.—- Bow- ttreet, June 8. CORNELIA BEATRICE BOULTON, advertised in the Police Gazette ot 25th ultimo, charged with larceny, has been apprehended at Warrington, and is committed for trial at the next Salop Quarter Sessions. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Haines, Whitchurch, or to Sergeant Owen, Salop .- Bow- street, June 8. Absconded on the 26th ultimo, charged, on a warrant, with embezzling several sums of Money of the Corporation of the City of London : EDMUND DOVE, late a Collector at Billingsgate Market, 48 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark hair and whiskers turning grey, and sallow complexion ; dressed in a black diagonal frock overcoat, tweed cutaway coat, vest, and trousers, and high black hat. Information to he given to the Inspector oa duty, Seething- lane Station, London, E. C., who holds the warrant for his apprehension. — Bow- street, June 4, Absconded, charged with stealing the following property from a dwelling- house at Earlswood, in the parish of Tan- worth, on 25th April last: JOHN ALLEN, alias GEORGE BUTLER, alias GEORGE COOPER, a painter, and a native of Cheltenham ; about 23 years of age, 5 ft. 8 or 9 ias. high, fair complexion, light hair, blue eyes, no whiskers or moustache ; dressed in plaid trousers, dark mixture coat and vest, hard billycock hat ( turned up very much at the sides), lace- up boots, and generally wears a ring ( witn three blue stones in the centre) on th; i little finger of right hand: A black leather Purse, with letter < L' on outside, con- taining £ 5 in Gold, and about 5s. in Silver. A black leather Purse, containing Half a Sovereign and and about 5 3. in Silver and Copper. A gold Bracelet, set with pearls in bands. A ditto ditto, with large yellow stone in centre, fastens with small gold padlock set with three yellow stones. A gold Ring, with large pearl in centre, and set with three turquoises on each side. A ditto ditto, true lover's knot. 2 ditto ditto, chased, and much worn. A ditto ditto, set with pearls. A gold Broooh, large yellow stone in centre. A ditto ditto, small, enamelled. A ditto ditto, set with grey coloured stones. A gold Locket and Chain. ( Locket enamelled blue, with bird and grapes on the back). A gold Necklet, round pattern, and very thick. A small gold Pencil- case. A lady's gold English Watch ( supposed lever), large size, pin missing from bow. A silver filigree Bracelet, Brooch, and Pendant. A pair of grey ditto ( new). £ 5 5a. reward will be paid by the treasurer of the'Tan- worth Association for the Prosecution of Felons,' on con- viction of the offender, and a further reward will also be given in proportion to property recovered.
