ENGLISH POLICE; DESCRIPTION of Patrick M'Lean, alias James Strong, a bookbinder, who stands committed to take his trial at the Wigau Borough Sessions, held on the 95th. April next, on a charge of felony:— He is 29 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, dark brown hair, blua eyes, fresh complexion s cut on top of nose, right side. He states he was born in Ohio, America, but is of Irish parentage. He is supposed to have been prev'ouly convicted of felony; is also believed to have been in custody ia Ireland for other offences. He admits having been in custody under the Habeas Corpus Act; also in City Gaol, Man- chester, for an indeceot assault; also at Hudders field, Yorkshire, for drunkenness. Gaolers and police officers will please make diligent search as to the antecedents of the above- named and transmit any information to Mr. George Williams, Chief Constable, Wigan. N. B.— Photograph of this prisoner will be sent upon application. DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE. 0 Divisions DESCRIPTION of the under- mentioned, who is wanted for forging the names of Wright and Symms, stockbrokers, to a cheque for £ l40, and uttering same at the Royal Bank, Foster- place, Dublin, where he obtained said sum on the 27th Jannary, and absconded:— Charles William Smith, about 40 yea's old, but looks older, 5 feet 9 inches high, pale com- plexion, dark hair turning gray, wore all his beard; dressed in ordinary dark clothes, is a native of Bath, a discharged soldier, and suspected of having eloped with a female from Cardiff with whom he corresj^ onded. DESCRIPTION of Henry Kane, native of Derryane who stands charged with having, on the 22ni inst., at Derryane, in the barony of Onielland West, parish of Tartaraghan aid county of Armagh, assaulted Thomas Smyth, aged 85 years, by striking him on the bead with a stick, from the effects of which his life is in danger:— Blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 40 years of age but looks younger, brown hair, short sandy whiskers; wore a low round hat, gray tweed coat, cord trowsers, dark vest. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Grimes, who has no fixed residence, and wao stands charged with having, on tbe 6th or 7th March, 1877, ; n the barony of Clankee, parish of Enniskeen, stolen from the house of James Tinnelly 7J yards of black tweed, 2 yar's of frieze, jar Is of gra7 plaid tweed, a piece of black cloth, and several article? of trimming:— Mark of a cut over left eye, wants 3 front teeth in upper Jaw ; heavy brown eyes sallow complexion, pale face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 38 or 40 years of age, brown hair; wore a black jerry bat, dark frock: coat, check trowsers, gray vest; is a tailor. DESCRIPTION of 2 men, supposed to be James Keogh, native of Freeduff, and John Lynch, native of Ballywillan, who stand charged with having, oa the 17th day of January, 1877, in barony of Clonmahon, parish of Drumlumman, along with another man, who has been arrested, waylaid and seriously assaulted Michael Hope :— 1. Supposed James Keogh— Gray eyes, regular rose, sallow complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, betwe n 20 and 25 years of age, dark hair: wore a cap, dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest is a Farmer's son. 2. DESCRIPTION of Mary M'Inerney, native of Tulla, who stands charged with having, on the 8rd day of February, 1877, in the barony of Islands, escaped from Ennis Lunatic Asylum, where she had been committed as a dangerous lunatic, and unlawfully taken with her several articles of clothing belonging to the institution:— Blue eyes, straight nose, ruddy complexion, long face, stout make. 5 feet 2 incbes high, about 24 years of age, brown hair; wore a dark gray shawl, gray Wincey gown, white flannel petticoat, branded " E. R., who stands charged with having, on the 33nd March, 1875, in the barony of coshlea, parish of Kilbeheny, fired at Patten S. Bridge, esq., agent to Nathaniel Buckley, esq., Galtee Castle i— Rather thort neck, slightly round thoulderi; Brown eyes, hooked nose, fresh slightly freckled complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark brown curly hair, sandy whiskers; wore a dark coat, cord trowsers, light vest. Mitchelstown, March 34, 1875. ( 5183 a— 9507.) DESCRIPTION of 3 persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 80th March, 1876, in the barony of Condons and Clangibbon, parish of Mitchelstown, been two of a party who fired at and wounded Patten Bridge, esq., and Constable Mathew Nugent, and shot John Hyland dead at same time and place :— 1. Unknown— Fair complexion, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 85 years of age, sandy whiskers nearly meeting under the chin; wore a cloth frock coat; had his face blackened. 3. Unknown— Fair complexion, round face, stout make, 6 feet 10 inches high, about 35 years of age, large sandy whiskers; wore a soft hat, faded cloth coat Mitchelstown, April 6,1876. ( 6183jc.— 18188.) DESCRIPTION of Denis Shea and Alice Shea, husband and wife, natives of Killorglin, Kerry, who stand charged with having, on the 4th February, 1877, in the barony of Barrymore, parish of Caherlag, stolen a donkey cart, the property of Patrick Sexton, which has since been recovered:— 1. Denis Shea— Black spot under right eye, gray eyes, regular nose, palo complexion, large mouth, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 44 years of age, black hair, shaves all his face: is n travelling fish dealer. 9. Alice Shea— Sunken black eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, oval face, thin make, i feet 10 inches high, about 45 years of age, dark hair. Galway. , DESCRIPTION of John Killalea, native of Shanbally, who stands charged with having, on the 25th Novem- ber, 1876, in the barony of Clare, parish of Annagh- down, seriously assaulted William Burke, whose life is in danger \— May have marks of old cuts on face; down- looking appearance; gray eyes, long nose, sallow complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 30 years of age, light brown hair; wore a dark frieze coat, gray tweed trowsers an<' vest. DESCRIPTION of an ass and cart, the property of John Sullivan, which we e stolen from the town ot Tralee, parish of Tralee, " barony of Trughanacmy, on the 10th day of March, 1877 :—- A she. donkey, mouse colour, not shod, smart cut. Cart— The side cases were inside the set locks, jointed into themj it is cased ; in one of the cramp- bolts there is a staple put through the crampbolt, and casing instead of a nutj there is one boa- d out of the centre of the cart, and the name " John Sullivan, of Lanabeg," is painted on the cart. DESCRIPTION of 2 heifers, the property of Mrs. Quinn, which were stolen from the lands of Glana- waddra, parish of Ballincuslane, barony of Trugh- anacmy, on the L3th day of Mareb, 1877 :— 1. Five years ol4, red aud gray colour, whie forehead, large horns, not much hair on the tail; . value for about £ 8. 2. DESCRIPTION of a cow, the property of Peter M'Loughlin, which was stolen from the fair of Mohill, out of a gateway at the end of a public house, in the town < f Mohill, parish of Mohill, barony of Mohill, on the 26th day of February, 1877:— White and yellow colour, spots of white on sides aud back, horns rather short and turned in; a brand " 87" on her left side, nearly worn off; about 5 years old, ordinary size, and calved before this value for £ 11. DESCRIPTION of convict Edmond Kenneally alias Dinan, ( 13646,) who has- broken the conditions of his licence in not reporting himself to the Consta- b il'ary on change of residence:— Convicted in the county of the city of Limerick, at Hilary Sessions, cn 12th January, 1871, for receiving stolen goods, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude; 50 years of age on conviction, can read and write, is a Roman Catholic, married, and has 8 children, is a labourer; bo n in Ballyarden, county Limerick, resided beforj conviction in Limerick, where bis frierels reside; brown h. sir turning gray, blue eye?, fair eyebrow?, regular nose, close mouth, lost 2 upper front ' eetli, fresh complexion, oval visage, a small wart » t corner of right eyebrow on forehtai, wart on right cheek, stout mak?, 5 feet inches high. " The above- named convict was released from Spike Island Prison, on 18ih June, 1876, on an order of licence. He reported his departure for Cork on the 21st ultimo to the Constabulary at Waterford, and stated that it wai his intention to travel on foot, but he has not reported himself up to the present. In the event of his arrest, he should be dealt with under the 5th section of the Prevention of Crimes Act, 34 and S5 Vie., chap. 113. Government Prisons Office, Dublin Castle, March 16, 1877. DESCRIPTION of John Hayes, native of Boher, who stands cha ged with having, on the 27th day of February, 1877, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Boher, grievously assaulted Matthew Moloney, of Dromkeen, thereby causing his death:— Gray eyes, regular nose, swarthy complexion, long lace, medium make, 5 feet inches high, about 25 ye& rs of age, dark brown hair; wore a cap, dark frock coat. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Power, native of Gregane, who stands charged with having, on the 24th day of February, 1877, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Ludden, seriously assaulted Hanora Enright by striking her on the head with a stone:— Mark of cut on upper lip; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, go'd looking face, slight active make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 22 years of age, fair hair; wore a soft jerry hat, dark tweed coat, corduroy trowsers, dark tweed vest; is a labourer. DESOHIPTION of two persona unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 7th February, 1877, at Ballyengland, in the barony of Lower connello, parish of Askeaton, maliciously entered Mr. Hewson's harness room aad cut up two sets of harness, value £ 30:— ( 1. Unknown— Big, light- coloured eyes;* long face, 6 feet high, about 20 years of age s wore a black cap, black double- breasted coat, and moleskin trowsers. 2. DESCRIPTION of James cassidy, native of Kil- nashee, Drumlish, county Longford, who stnnds charged with having, on the 9th January, 1877, in the barony of Longford, parish of Killoe, seriously assaulted his stepfather, Michael O'Hara:— Btro eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feot 3 inches high, about 16 yoars of age; wore a gray frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, black cloth vert; is a labomer. He will probably go to Scotland to w rk in some of the mines near Glasgow. Longford, Jan. 19, 1877.
