DESCRIPTION of Patrick M'Lean, alias James Strong, a bookbinder,' who stands committed to take his trial at the Wigan Borough Sessions, held on the ' 45th April next, on a charge of felony:— He is 99 years of ago, S feet 3 inches high, dark brown hair, blua eyes, fresh complexiont cut on top ot nose, right side. He states he was born in Ohio, America, but is of Irish parentage. He is suppossd to have been previouly convicted of felony; is also believed to have been in custody in Ireland for other offences. He admits having been in custody under the Habeas Corpus Act; also in City Gaol, Man- chester, for an indecent assault; also at Hudders- field, Yorkshire, for drunkenness. Gaolers and pollcs officers will please make diligent search as to the antecedents of the above- named and transmit any information to Mr. George Williams, Chief Constable, Wigan. N. G Division* DESCRIPTION of the under- mentioned, who is wanted for forging the names of Wright and Symms, stockbrokers, to a cheque for £ 14.0, and uttering same at the Royal Bank, Foster- place, Dublin, where he obtained said sum on the 27th Jannary, and absconded :— Charles William Smith, about 40 years old, but looks older, 5 feet 9 inches high, pale com- plexion, dark hair turning gray, wore all his beard; dressed in ordinary dark clothes, is a native of Bath, a discharged soldier, and suspected of having eloped with a female from Cardiff with whom he corresponded. DESCRIPTION of 2 men, supposed to be James Keogh, native of Freeduff, and John Lynch, native of Ballywillan, who stand charged with having, oci the 17th day of January, 1877, in barony of Clonmahon, parish of Drumlumman, along with another man, who has been arrested, waylaid and seriously assaulted Michael Hope :— 1. Supposed James Keogh— Gray eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, regular face, stout make, 6 feet 6 inches high, between 20 and 25 years of age, dark hair; wore a cap, dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest is a Farmer's son. 2. Supposed John Lynch, sandy complexion medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high about 20 years of age, light coloured thin beard wore a old ronnd hat gray coat; is a farmer's son. DESCRIPTION of Mary M'Inerney, nativs of Tulla, who stands charged with having, on the 8rd day of February, 1877, in the barony of Islands, escaped from Ennis Lunatic Asylum, where she had been committed as a dangerous lunatic, and unlawfully taken: with her several articles of clothing belonging to the institution:— Blue eyes, straight nose,. ruddy complexion, long face, stout make,. 5' feet 2 inches high, about 24 years of age, brown hair; wore a dark gray shawl, gray Wincey gown, white flannel petticoat, branded " E. R., who stands charged with having, on the 33nd March, 1875, in the barony of Coshlea. parish of Kilbeheny, fired at Patten S. Bridge, esq., agent to Nathaniel Buckley, esq., Galtee Castle:— Rather short neck, slightly round shoulders; Brown eyes, hooked nose, fresh slightly freckled complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark brown curly hair, sandy whiskers; wore a dark coat, cord trowsers, light vest. DESCRIPTION of Denis Shea and Alice Shea, husband and wife, natives of Killorglin, Kerry, who stand charged with having, on the 4th February, 1877, in the barony of Barrymore, parish of Caherlag, stolen a donkey cart, the property of Patrick Sexton, which has since been recovered:— 1. Denis Shea— Black spot under right eye, gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, large mouth,.. 5 feet 2 inches high, about 44 years of age, black hair, shaves all his face; is a travelling fish dealer. 9. DESCRIPTION of two persons unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 7th February, 1877, at Ballyengland, in the barony of Lower Connello, parish of Askeaton, maliciously entered Mr. Hewson's harness room and cut up two sets of harness, value £ 20 :— 1. DESCRIPTION of 8 persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the morning of the 3rd March, 1877, at Dernacartha, in the barony of Costello, parish of Kilcolman, fired at and wounded James Downey and Martin Tomey, and fired into dwelling- bouses, and administered an illegal oath, and demanded money, in eompanyjwith other men unknown :— 1. Unknown— Pock- pitted; fair complexion, long face, steut make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 30 years of age, fair hair, small fair whiskers; wore a seal- skin cap with ear flaps, corduroy jacket, and trowsers; apparently a labourer. 3. Unknown— Dark complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 80 years of aim. dark hair, small dark whiskers : wore a jacket turned inside out, corduroy trowsers; apparently a labourer. 3. DESCRIPTION of Patrick M'Hale, alias Thomas Henelly, native of Cloontubrid, who stands charged with having, on the 24th February, 1877, at Turlough, in the barony of Carra, parish of Turlough, stolen two asses, the property of Daniel M'Quaig, of Turlough, which ha sold in the market of Castlebar on the 24th instant, and which have been recovered;— Bloe eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, broad face, medium make, 6 feet 2 inches high, about 16 or 17 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a cloth cap, brown frieze coat, cord trowsers; is a labourer. DBSOBIPTION of a' man, name unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 11th of August, 1876, at about half past 11 o'clock, A. M., in the barony of Carra, parish of Drum, at Loonamore, discharged three shots from a revolver from behind a rick of turf at George B. Acton, esq., Bridgemount, as he drove by, returning from the fair of Balla:— Face not muscular, about 18 stone weight, seemingly a man not accustomed to hard labour, swarthy or much sun- burnt complexion, round lace, very full make 6 feet 8 inches high, 40 years of age, dark sandy hair, beard and moustache; brown frieze sack coat, dark tweed vest, whitish trowsers, and a soft hat, with high orown. DKSOBIPTION of a gun, the property of Thomas Byrne, which was stolen from the lands of Drum- mond- Otra, parish of Magheross, and barony of Farney, on the night of the 21st or morning of the 22nd February, 1877 s— A double- barrel gun, with » small piece broken off stock near the trigger guard ; the maker's name is not known; the gun is value for about £ 8. It was in a woollen cover, bound with red, also stolen. One of the barrels was loaded when stolen. Three small drawer keys were also stolen. Camckmacross, Feb. 92,1877. ( 13143 o.— 31677.) DESCRIPTION of Alexander Gibson, ( mother's sur- name Newell,) native of Glen, who stands charged with having, on the 38th day of January, 1877, in tbe barony of Dartree, parish of Ematris, stolen the sim of £ 19 from his father's house:— Scar at corner of eye, good- looking and well set up, slightly freckled, speaks with a slight lisp ; gray eyes, regular nose, fair and florid complexion, regular face, medium make, 6 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 31 years of age, sandy hair: wore a black jerry hat, fine blue cloth top coat, dark tweed sait, elastic boots. He is believed to have gone to Scotland in company with a girl ( a domestic servant) named Fanny Smith. The Rockcorry Constabulary hold a Warrant for his arrest. DESCRIPTION of Mary M'Kenna, native of Listra- hegney, who stands charged with having, on the 19th day of December, 1876, in the barony of Monaghan, parish of Tullycorbett, left the service of Mr. Wallace, of Braddocks, and it is feared that she has met with foul play:— Brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet high, about 19 years of age; wore a white hat, with black and white ribbon, red woollen shawl, black dress, blue skirt, elastio boots; is a servant. 8he is supposed to have gone to Belfast Monaghan, January 6,1877. The special attention of the Constabulary is directed to the following: DESCRIPTION of Thomas Hunt, mother's surname Quigley,) native of Knockgranagh, who stands charged with having, on the 29th November, ult., in the barony of Leyny, parish of Achonry, murdered John M'Gloin, by fracturing his skull with a large stone:— Down- looking appearance, two upper front teeth large and prominent, high cheek hones, large heavy lips, sunken jaws, very broad shoulders; glaring black eyes, slightly cocked nose, sallow complexion, oval face, stout make, 5 feei 9 or 10 inches high, about 27 or 38 years of age, black hair, small dark moustache; wore a dark cloth coat, trowsers, and vest. Was in America, and lately returned from England, where he worked as a labourer. Has a pair of English- made navvy boots, with iron plates under toes, also a pair of light Wellington boots. Felix Kearns— Pimples on face, delicate appear- ance, large mouth slightly turned; gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, round face, slight make, 5 feet 6£ inches high, about 19 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is an assistant teacher in National School. 2. Patrick Waters— Heavy eyebrows; brown eyes, sharp noso, fair complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 9£ inches high, about 19 years of age, brown hair; wore a round hat, dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a labourer. Tyrone. < DESCRIPTION of William James Devlin, native ot Coolreagh, near Cookstowu, who stands charged with having, on the 22nd January, 1877, in the barony of Upper Dungannon, parish of Derryloran, absconded from Cookstown, taking with him upwards of £ 20 sterling of his property, which ought, by law, to be dividad amongst his craditors, he having been adjudicated a bankrupt on the 25 th January, 1877 : Straight active appearance, broad square shoulders; rather good- looking; gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 88 years of age, light brown hair cut very short, large light brown whiskers; wore a tweed coat, trowsers, and vest. It is supposed he proceeded to Dublin on the night that he absconded. A Warrant has been issued for his apprehension. Cookstown, Feb. 32, 1877. ( 11889 o.— 31598.) Unknown— Pale complexion, slender make, rather tall, 17 or 18 years of age, dark hair, no beard or whiskers; boyish appearance. 2.
